She seemed too busy. I asked for an app we ordered to have only pork belly and no tofu, she looked at me like I was crazy and didn't say yes or no. It came out normal, which is fine. It was for my wife's birthday, she loves the chicken and waffles. The decor and atmosphere were wonderful. I loved getting a tray of bbq chicken skewers, a tray of adobo chicken, and a tray of tofu so that we had both vegetarian and meat options for guests. The garlic rice tray was a flavorful base. We also ordered both veggie and pork lumpia for appetizer. The side of atchara was a great way to add an extra kick of bright flavor to the food. I appreciated that it was simple and straightforward to order the food, we received great quantities of food for the price paid, and I got to enjoy some of my favorite restaurant's food at an event I was hosting. The food was well-packaged to set out on our buffet and serving utensils were available when I requested. Affordable too , we had the Pancit bihon vegan, the chili crisp potato and the sizzling tofu sisig. 2 chai teas and they gave us free tapiocas. All for $40 before tax and tip. Bonifacio is a super popular place. There were four of us and the place was overflowing, but since we had reservations, we were seated right away. It's got a nice ambiance (a bit loud, but that's becoming normal in restaurants these days). The service was polite and efficient. I have to say that i was less positive about the food than my fellow yelpers here and honestly was oscillating between 3 and 4 stars. The appetizers were excellent. I especially liked the sautéed bok choi -- it had a sweet and savory taste and was yum. The eggplant was also pretty good, although needed a bit of salt. The tofu was nice and crispy. For my main course, I got the adobe ribs, which were well prepared and tender, but lacked flavor. My wife got the chicken sizzling sisig, and it just okay. I would probably come here again for lunch but definitely the dinner doesn't live up to the hype at least for me. Dilemma: Could not decide between tocino and fried chicken n waffles. Solution: Made tocino with garlic rice at home, ordered fried chicken and ube waffles at Bonifacio. I boxed myself in on my choices but someone has to bully me (me). No ragrats. Bonifacio's fried chicken was juicy with a crisp skin and their waffles were thicc, syrupy, and buttery. However, I also ordered the ube cold brew latte, which I felt could have used more ube syrup :/ I couldn't taste any ube at all :( I really cannot attest to how authentic Bonifacio's food is and it's definitely a bit splurge-y...but at least the portions are decently sized. We are always up for trying new cuisine so decided to take a drive and try out Bonifacio, a Filipino restaurant. We decided to have lunch there. When we arrived at the restaurant, the place was pretty empty but it took us awhile to be seated. It seemed like the servers were talking among themselves and wasn't paying attention to customers coming in or keeping the tables clean. But once we were seated and placed our orders, the food came out at a decent time. For appetizer we ordered the fried Bok Choy, which is really good. Get it, if you like bok choy. For the entrée, we ordered the Chicken Adobo and Bistek, The food was decent not exceptional. All the entrée items could have used a little more seasoning. Loved this place! Came for brunch on a Sunday -- we had a reservation but didn't need it that day, but it might have been slower than usual due to the bad weather. Our server was very nice and super helpful in recommending items from the menu since it was my first time there. I got the Tocino Silog and it was delicious! Very tasty and a great option for brunch as you get a variety of sides to try as well. I also got the Ube Irish Coffee which was good -- my friend got the Ube Iced Coffee which I ended up liking better just due to my preference for iced drinks. We arrived around 3 PM, and while the restaurant was not busy at the time, it took a little bit of a wait for us to be seated. However, once our server took our order, the pace picked up. Even though the restaurant filled up quickly with more patrons, our food still arrived without much delay. The food was hot and fresh, and the taste was different from standard South East Asian fare. We liked the bok choy appetizer and the chicken inasal more than the other options we ordered (chicken pyanggang, bistek, and the vegetable lumpia). All the main entrees came with garlic white rice and a side salad. We also tried the guava mocktail, which we thought tasted decent. The price here is a little higher than the few other Filipino options in town. My husband and I have been coming here on and off the past 8 years and are not consistent regulars due to the service/vibes. Today I brought two Lola's (grandmas) visiting from another state as well as my two toddlers in. We arrived around 10:30am, the place was essentially empty with reservations starting around 11/11:30. We were told our only options were to sit at a four seater high top or return 3 hours later. The reserved tables were all better options for a party with young kids but they didn't offer to switch those with the high top for us, so we sat at the high top with our kids on our laps. At other restaurants, the staff has offered to sit us at a reserved table and give quick service so we can leave timely before the next party. After selecting this option our waitress was incredibly rude. Her first thing she said to one of our Grandmas was to move her chair because it was blocking the aisle (it wasn't). She did not offer extra utensils or plates for the kids. She did not check in at all throughout the meal and overall had a sour attitude. This is disappointing to see as I want all Filipino businesses to succeed in this city and while Bonifacio has amazing food - they are lacking the quintessential Filipino hospitality (try visiting Laguna Bay Bistro and feeling the love and joy there). The staff during our experience seemed to only convey they wanted us to leave. My Lolas were shocked by the service - we won't be bringing them back here. This place needs a reminder of what Mabuhay means when it comes to customer service.
