We decided to stop in Sat night after the chaos at the airport 11/20/21. They were full for the evening and weren't accepting anymore reservations so we sat at the stools facing the mirror for cocktails only until searing at the bar became available. They put our name on the waitlist as we ordered our drinks. The service at the bar was good even on a busy Saturday evening. Started w/ old fashioned, good but needed 1 cube The bisque was good but had a bite to it. You can see from the picture there are bits of lobster in there. There was even larger chunks in the soup itself. Be careful not to get full on the warm bread & butter I ordered the mixed grill and requested medium+ for the temperature. It came out more medium or even less warm that that. I will put it in the air fryer for a minute to bring it to the temperature I need it to be. All the meats aside from the pheasant sausage needed a dash of salt. My husband ordered the loin lamb chops and was pleased with the order. They are huge and had a good grill flavor to them. They could used a dash of salt or not. The truffle butter mashed potatoes were very good, though a little crumbly in texture. I enjoyed the grilled asparagus, not pictured here. They are larger spears and still had a slight crunch to them. There was a perfect amount of char on them. The pecan pie was nuked too long in the microwave. After three years in Atlanta, two of which was Covid times, i finally made my way to Bones. This place is amazing! Being a New Yorker, i have Peter Luger steakhouse as my benchmark. This is definitely better than Peter Luger on a bad day; if you've been enough, you know what i mean. I would say, if you're looking for an old fashioned upscale steakhouse, you've found it. I had the Ribeye for two and it was amazingly delicious! It was medium rare, tender, juicy, flavorful and comes sliced, ready to serve. I will have to come back for the dry aged ribeye. I also ordered the collard greens and hash brown at the suggestion of our server; tbh the steak was so good, i didn't bother with the sides. So apologize to anyone reading this. Our server was Lee, he super personable, explained what's good here and what's unique. He also completely understood my Peter Luger reference and had a few suggestions based on that. Really cool guy. We were on vacation in Atlanta visiting family, it was my bf's bday week so I made a reservation with OpenTable with Bones. We had a reservation for 4 adults. I am not sure if they take walk-ins so I just recommend making a reservation. We were welcomed with a decorated table for bf's bday (I put a note for bday on reservation). A lot of reviews advised to get the Lobster Bisque... I was not impressed... I wish I would have got the French Onion (which bf did get) and it was SO good... They have a bone-in filet mignon (which I didn't know was a thing) because the filet doesn't have a lot of fat, the bone apparently adds TONS of flavor to the cut. I went with my go to Rib-eye, which was perfectly cooked. The sides are big enough to share for four, I chose the truffle mashed potatoes (SO good), we also got Mac & Cheese, and bf got himself a classing baked potato. Everyone loved the mac & cheese but those truffle mashed potatoes were out of this world! They gave us a delicious layered ice cream cake dessert. I came with my boyfriend to celebrate a new job on a Friday evening. It was our first time at Bones and we've heard so much about this place so we were definitely excited. We made a reservation two weeks in advance since their weekend availability seems to be booked out pretty early. While we arrived 10 minutes early, the host was able to seat us immediately. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer. FYI, you are apparently able to order half portions of this. The server offered the half portion, but we decided to order the full portion anyway and were shocked at how large the onion rings were! We also ordered a bone-in rib eye and a dry aged bone-in rib eye, both medium rare, and a side of truffle mashed potatoes. The bone-in rib eye was fine but half of the dry aged one was basically raw. At that point, it's too late to tell them that it isn't cooked properly. It's disappointing that a steakhouse would improperly cook a steak like this when this is what they specialize in. It was extremely hard to finish. The service itself was impeccable and our waiter was courteous. I only wish that we were able to get our steak taken back sooner. We didn't tell them since half was eaten already. They clean your table and package leftovers in between courses. Parking is valet only and complimentary, but you should definitely tip! read more

Tonight we made reservations for a friends birthday. This is our first time here. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. When you first enter, you would come into large dim lit, romantic space with maybe 3 step walk up to a large bar. To the right of the entrance what I call a conversation area, with red comfy round velvet chairs with small round table. The whole entire restaurant is beautiful with an oldsmoker room, wine cellar/ library vibe. But very tastefully done. Walking to our table we walked along a wall of fine wines. That opened up to another large dining area. Our hostess Mr. Rodney was amazing. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DELIGHTFUL. Mr. Rodney was very helpful with making some menu choices. However, it really didn't matter because we came to try a pretty large array of items on the menu tonight. But needless to say EVERYTHING was amazing. 2023 year end review: My wife and I have been coming here since 2012. I can easily without hesitation say it's our favorite steakhouse in Atlanta. Service is always top notch without feeling pretentious. They always make you welcomed. Though we have been spoiled over the years with a little thank you gift for the loyal patronage throughout the year. 2022 we got a nice bottle wine which was a pleasant surprise. This year we didn't get any sort of thank you which was a bit odd...lol. 1. Service: excellent every time. Our favorite is Ken, He's funny, attentive, never overbearing. We need to make sure to ask for him every time if he's working. 2. The steak, the steak, the steak. Cooked perfectly every single time. I'm a ribeye guy, and my wife is a filet gal. We are never disappointed. We are creatures of habit, seared tuna loin, and split the ceasar salad each time. One of these days we will get the 2 1/2 lobter. :) 3. Cocktails are also top notch, and top shelf. After 13 years and Bones remains our favorite steakhouse for special event, date nights, and friend outings. We cannot recommend Bones enough. read more

In fact, I don't usually post restaurants I've eaten at to this extent, but it was very disappointing to me that so many people were saying this was the best steakhouse in Atlanta. I ordered the octopus salad as an appetizer, and the octopus wasn't very flavorful, but it was still tender. The grilled tuna was quite tasty with what looked like fried peppercorns sprinkled on top. The foie gras was huge! One person couldn't really eat a piece. At first, the deliciousness and happiness of the first bite made me happy. The second bite gradually put on a mask of pain, and after a few bites, I was tired of it. For my entree, I ordered the Lobster Tail Grilled Steak, which wasn't very good, but it was something special. I didn't realize the lobster tail was crunchier than potato chips, and it was quite tasty with sour cream. The steak was supposed to be the highlight of the meal, but it was disappointing. The steak was charred in some parts and had a bitter taste, but that's okay, the overall flavor was basically nothing. There wasn't a lot of seasoning and the steak itself didn't taste like beef. If I really had to recommend it, I'd probably recommend the atmosphere and service. The food was average, not bad, but I wouldn't want to come back. This is my second time coming to this place and it was as good the second time as the first time. The service is wonderful and the food is just great. Their steaks are the highest quality and most importantly for me, never overcooked. I came with a group of people and for appetizers we ordered the beef carpaccio, foie gras, the wedge salad and another salad with apples in it. I'm a huge fan of wedge salad in general so that was delicious! The beef carpaccio was amazing as well. I didn't care for the foie gras that much because it was too sweet for me, but that's just personal preference. For the main dishes, we got two different kinds of steak, a T-bone and something else but they were so wonderful. I'm a huge carnivore and this really satisfied the carnivorous side of me haha. For dessert, we got the pecan pie and a chocolate mousse cake thing. Both were wonderful! The pecan pie was so warm and the pecans were still a little crunchy and not soggy. I loved the chocolate raspberry cake because it wasn't sweet at all! I didn't feel terrible after eating it. This was our first time at Bones since we were visiting friends in Atlanta. From the outside it looks like a small restaurant, but when you go in it is pretty big! When you sit down they provide you with a loaf of bread which is very fresh. You have to be careful because it's easy to eat the whole thing and not save room . For appetizer I got the lobster bisque. Wow was it good. It reminded me of thanksgiving and was very hearty. For dinner my husband got the bone in rib eye and I got the filet. If I could do it over again I would have done the bone in. It had a ton of flavor and was cooked perfectly. We also got a lobster tail to split. It was super juicy!!. The service is immaculate and the people are very kind. I know it's a fancy restaurant but we have always helped stack it clean. Loved the ambiance of the bar and restaurant. that was the only luxurious part of our much anticipated night at Bones. We had two servers approach our table immediately upon sitting down to take drink orders. Initial drinks came quickly-This was the last time we saw service without requesting their presence, drinks long empty and feeling hungry. Service expectations at this level of dining are high, and fell grossly short. Also, how does Bones not know what med rare is??
