We went upstairs to the bar and were promptly greeted by Marco. He provided us with suggestions and excellent service throughout the evening. We started off with a 1/2 dz oysters and eight shrimp cocktail. YES!! The oysters, though not so big, gave me that fresh, briny taste that I love. The shrimp were good and considerable size. We were definitely happy w/the appetizer round. Moving on to the entrees, I ordered the smaller ribeye (the menu named it "The Cowgirl". I'm not going to call it that- lol) and Cuz ordered the Chicken Paillard. My steak was cooked perfect medium rare, but I had to add both salt and pepper. It was lacking on the seasoning. I was about to ask Cuz how he was enjoying his chicken, but as I looked at the plate...ALL GONE. He said it was delicious. We shared sides. Broccoli, because we needed something healthy, and the Dauphinois potatoes. Those potatoes were rich and very filling. I think I'm going to try the jalapeño creamed corn next visit. We put ourselves in Marco's capable bartending acumen with the red wine with our entrees. I don't remember which Cab he suggested, but it didn't let us down. Valet service is at least $5. Valet is required but they provide fast service. The bar is upstairs but the bathroom is down stairs. Comfortable chairs at the bar. Wish they had more TVs to watch sports. Very dim lighting in the building at the bar. They set the mood. I sat in the first floor dining area beside the patio. The server was fine. I ordered the filet with Au sauce and onion rings. I did not like the Au sauce so they gave me Chimichurri sauce. That sauce was bland as well. Good thing is that the steak was awesome and full of flavor on its own. Onion rings were great but I could use more sauce that it came with. The food is great quality but it seems a little bland. Came to this "word of mouth" restaurant for my 29th birthday and it was the perfect restaurant for my celebration. The ambiance was dark, lowkey, and sexy; which is exactly what I was going for. My boyfriend and I sat in a cozy booth across from the bar and it was perfect for a quite and intimate dinner. For appetizers we started with the bread service and delish butter spreads, james river oysters, and the crispy maine lobster bites--all of which were 10/10. For entrees we opted for the bone-in ribeye, wagyu beef ribs, sauteed spinach, and loaded whipped potatoes--again 10/10. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while. For starters, the decor is beautiful. Especially at night. I'm not even sure what the design style is of the restaurant, but it's some modern pieces with classic wood finishing. The bar is upstairs and is dimly lit for those of you who might be visually impaired. I valet parked, which is $5 excluding any tip you might give. I ordered dinner, the salmon, and asked to sub the artichokes for the whipped potatoes with no bacon. The bartender seemed hesitant, but told me they'd take care of it. I also ordered the peach blossom martini which was delicious. Mixed and crafted well. The flavors were a nice blend. When my food arrived, things went a bit downhill for me. The salmon was sitting on top of a lake of creamy mashed potatoes with sour cream and NO bacon. Just like I asked. But there was no cauliflower. I thought I had subbed out just the artichokes. The bartender then told me, if you sub out an item, they remove all of the sides that normally come with the meal. That's really weird and super disappointing since I didn't know that in advance. I ended up ordering the wedge salad so I'd have a vegetable. I asked for a side of the strawberry vinaigrette, to which another server also hesitated! What the heck is up with this place? If you spend upwards of $100 or more (which you likely will), then you should be able to make modifications, IMO. The salad was the star of the show. Perfection with the added tanginess of the vinaigrette. The potatoes were fine, they had salt, but I didn't taste any black pepper. The salmon looked like it had seasoning on it, but I couldn't taste any. I ended up taking that portion of the meal home and cooking it in a way that was more flavorful. Been looking for a "neighborhood steakhouse"....arnette's is it for me right now and it is literally...in a neighborhood. A restaurant where the severs remember drink and food preferences if you come often. The managers and, if you are seated by open kitchen, the chef, may stop by to check in. The restaurant business is tough, profit margins are slim, so I am very thankful that places like this exist to feed me. Last evening, mentioned that two of the dishes were a bit salty for us (may be fine for others, tastes differ) and they immediately took action and took it off our bill. When we got the check, we realized and asked that they put back on bill, as we had enjoyed and boxed up leftovers. We ate it so we should paid for it (they added it back after much argument)...it is abhorant when people complain to get free food (swindlers). I truly appreciate the care and attention they have for their clients. They care about the service and food. Now honestly, I am not saying it is the best steak and food I have ever had but...i do not need michelin every night, after a long work day, nice to just go to a place with good service and food...relax to a good dinner. Valet parking is available and adds to the convenience. The food was outstanding. The crab cake was delicious and full of flavor. Their dining room is one of the few places in Atlanta where the bone-in ribeye feels like a sacred thing--where the martinis are cold, the service sharp, and the bill, unapologetically, matches the quality. You know going in that you'll pay for excellence, and more often than not, you leave feeling it was worth every penny. So when Arnett's announced their "Mother Shucker" Oyster Festival, I circled the date with the kind of quiet anticipation usually reserved for the first dove hunt of September. I'm an oyster man through and through--Gulf, East Coast, Pacific, doesn't matter. I eat them by the dozen, weekly. It's not a hobby. It's a ritual. That said, the event itself was, regrettably, a letdown. And here's where it stung. The oysters weren't horriible--but they weren't close to good either. They were the kind you forget before you even swallow. Tired, listless bivalves. Not spoiled, but certainly not celebrated. I know logistics for a large event aren't easy, but when your name is Arnett's, people come expecting the same standard they find on your steak plates. These oysters were a far cry from that. Then there were the oyster shooters. Normally, you'd expect vodka, a splash of tomato, maybe a little horseradish--something punchy and bright. What we got was mezcal, which hijacked the entire thing with a smoky bitterness that clashed violently with the sea. I saw more than a few untouched shots left to warm in the sun. The gumbo was another misstep. Two versions--both of them, frankly, poor. And yet, amid the culinary disappointment, there was one bright spot: the music. A phenomenal 80s cover band kept spirits alive. They were polished, energetic, and downright fun. If I hadn't come with oysters in mind, I might've been perfectly content. But I did. And I left hungry. Later that night, I drove across town to a favorite oyster bar and put away two dozen clean, briny beauties--just to remind myself what it was supposed to taste like. To be clear, I still hold Arnett's Chop Shop in high regard. Their restaurant is the real deal. But this event? It missed the mark in almost every way. I imagine it was a financial success. But no one I spoke to left raving about the food. And in the end, isn't that the point? Arnett's can--and should--do better. I'll be back for the steak. So the place looks great ... It was clean and had a really good small setting/date night kind of vibe. It has a really good ambience to it. It has 2 floors,so you can pick and choose which are you want to sit at. The top floor is more relaxed and has a very nice bar setup. The first floor is more the date night vibe. Though the top floor has a great place to get some sun because of the window setup. It has valet for parking but you can park on the street if there is availability. There is very limited parking out front so if you come later on in the evening, you may be out of luck. This spot is tucked away so you may not find it unless you are looking for it. It's in Brookhaven but it's really on the main street. My waitress, Jheanell, took really good care of me. I had water immediately after I sat down and everyone I passed on the way to the table greeted me and was very friendly. My waitress explained the menu in great detail and gave me her suggestions after hearing what I like. After the appetizers were finished, they had a hot towel service to make sure you can clean your hands without getting up to go to the restroom. I started out with bread (which goes for a good cause) and then ended up selecting the grilled octopus, KC strip, loaded whipped potatoes, and the broccoli. The bread was good, came with multiple types of spreads. It had a hard outer layer but the inside was super soft and moist. The bread is not complementary, so just be aware of that. The octopus was also good. It had a good flavor and was pretty tender. It was giving off a bit of a citrus and tangy taste that was savory. The KC strip steak (medium) came out good, the steak was indeed cooked but some parts of it were not "melt in your mouth". It did not dissuade me from wanting to try something else from there. But if you are paying over 80 for a steak, you want it to be excellent and as flawless as you can get, and this may be my only small gripe. The broccoli came with a Parmesan sauce and it was a really good choice (Jheanell suggested it). The loaded whipped potatoes were ... Well they were loaded potatoes lol nothing dazzling but they were good. The bacon was fresh and sent the potatoes up another level. This is something that I would definitely come back for. It is not something that is every other day because it is steakhouse prices, but for an event or an occasion, it's not a bad option at all.... Actually it is a super solid option and I highly suggest and recommend it. I will be back to sit at the bar (the bar had a good set up) and to try the cheesecake next lol. read more

A unique location for a high end chop house that caters to the Brookhaven elite. Not quite sure why Valet is the only parking offered as the parking is ample and directly adjacent to the restaurant. We were seated promptly despite being a few minutes late. Hosts were friendly. Overall this place drives to be a high-end chophouse, but a few things don't seem to fit: To make outdoor seating, they have a covered patio with plastic windows. They have cushions on plastic lawnchairs. $5 for bread, but you get three different types of butter. They had a decent number of appetizer offerings. The shrimp dish was fantastic, extremely tasty. Salads were decent. Tuna, tartare was fine, lots of different flavors with mango and avocado. You don't get enough of the crackers for the amount of tuna. For a chophouse, there are limited offerings, other than beef and two fish dishes. Was expecting some lamb or pork chops. Ended up going with the tuna special, which was an interesting combination of flavors with tomato salsa, puréed peas and seared tuna. It was good, but not quite $50 "special" My wife had a $38 piece of chicken breast, which was tasty. I think the overall price point is too high, but it seems like there's enough clientele to support it. I personally would not come back given the vast number of options in Atlanta at this price point with much better ambience. read more

At the ladies luncheon there was a prix fixe menu that included caviar, oysters, shrimp cocktail and steak topped with lobster. The drinks were unlimited. Needless to say, we had a time!!! The restaurant is dark, cozy and has paintings of rock legends throughout. I made reservations through opentable and we were seated immediately upon arriving. For starters we ordered the little gem salad which is basically a Caesar salad and the shrimp de jonghe. The shrimp were amazing! They were cooked perfectly and the sauce was scrumptious. It was a generous portion too. We also ordered the bread with 3 flavored butters. Honestly, it wasn't great and the butters weren't really seasoned, but the bread was good for dipping into the sauce from the shrimp. For entrees and sides, we ordered the 12 oz. NY strip, lobster pasta, creamed corn and fries. The sides are shareable. The lobster pasta was delicious and had a large amount of lobster. We had absolutely no complaints on the food. The restaurant was empty as it was 5:30pm, b it was a less than ideal seating area as the sun was setting and they couldn't lower any of the shades. Sun was hitting us directly in the face and the air con dripped right on my husband. Bread isn't complimentary, but I was pregnant at the time so it was extra delicious. A portion of the proceeds gets donated. Lobster Mac and cheese was a favorite and so was the bone marrow. Everyone who ordered a wagyu cut really enjoyed their steak. The steak frites was mediocre and fries weren't very good. They have valet parking, but you can drive another 20 seconds and park on the street for free. Service was okay, nothing special. I haven't wrote a review in a very long time, but this place deserves that. Arnette's is top tier when it comes to service. From the moment we valet our car to the departure, it was nothing short of amazing. Trent is the manager there and made sure we had a pleasant evening. The ambience is quite romantic with low light setting. I've never had an espresso martini at any establishment that I love besides here. The espresso martini was perfection! We tried their special octopus as an app. It was slightly charred a bit salty, but it paired really well with everything on the plate. It was tender and great portion for $21-$22. My fiancé ordered the cowgirl ribeye cooked medium with a wedge salad that was big enough for two. I ordered the diver scallop and lobster Oscar. You can get the scallop cooked on the grill or pan seared, which is a great option to have. The whole staff was friendly and inviting. The place is a bit expensive, but you expect that from a steakhouse. Money well spent here. We will definitely come back! read more

I've been a semi-regulat for years. I've become disenchanted with the food. See Image Not medium well. I am beyond disappointed that I treated myself to this special meal to have my $60 filet not cooked the way I requested. The meal was $200 including the salad, steak, dessert and pre- meal cocktail, red with meal and sparkling with dessert. Tip don't eat at the bar bc it's too dark to see your good. I noticed the servers had lights they offered to a come but didn't offer one to me. Again normally I'd recommend. Just can't any longer IF you charge top dollar, your service and food kind of should be flawless. EVERY SINGLE TIME. It didn't feel special. Might as well hit a burger. read more
