**This review is specifically for Overstory Rooftop Brunch**…read more Made a solo reservation on a Sunday to have brunch before seeing a show. The good parts didn't outweigh the not-so-good for me. 1. Located on the 9th floor of The Westin, BUT, parking is mad affordable, which is a big relief as usually hotel rooftops have a static valet parking fee for $25 or more. There is a garage right in front of the entrance and its 5 bucks for up to 4 hours. 2. Views - decent enough for the 9th floor, but mostly overlooks trees and some highways. There isn't much to actually look at as far as a skyline. I was here in the daytime though, maybe at night with whatever city lights coming in, it may be a lil more charming. 3. Ambience - the inside was really nice, the tables were big and seating was comfy, a combo of cushioned chairs and velvety booths or couches. nice decor, and the outside portion of the rooftop also seemed very spacious, with a big main area as well as seating & a few more tables down the side of the building. I went during the yacht rock brunch period, so there was a live DJ spinning old hits from the 70s/80s. the music was at a cool volume, not so loud that you can't hear anyone speak, but not too low like background music - loud enough that you feel like its okay to vibe out. 4. Food & Service - this is where it fell apart for me. when i was seated, it took about 15-20 minutes for my waitress to come and ask me what i wanted to drink. when she finally did, i realized this same woman had walked past me several times before, on the way to do nothing in particular. she didn't introduce herself but was polite. she brought out my coffee and took my order, it took an hour for my food to come out. and the place wasn't crowded. only 2 couples sitting outside and about 40% capacity ithe indoor section where I was. and the food was subpar. it all came out hot, BUT. chicken sausage was hard to bite because casing was burnt and tough. eggs were cooked with so much butter it just tasted like i was eating fluffy butter. biscuit was dry and couldn't possibly be homemade. 'parmesan potatoes' had a few sad dried dots of cheese and parsley but no seasoning whatsoever. i forced myself to eat about half. I live far from Duluth, so really no reason to come back. Maybe a nighttime hang with drinks only, on the outdoor terrace would be a slightly better experience. But I don't have to find out.

The food is decent, although somewhat overpriced (for example, $18 for a chicken wrap). That's not really why we come here, though. We usually sit at the bar to watch the game and have always had a positive experience until our most recent visit. Shortly after we arrived, a woman we believe may be the owner's wife sat across from us at the bar and began loudly discussing operational issues, vendors, staff, issues with the karaoke host, and even the city of Chamblee. It felt less like a customer experience and more like we were sitting in the middle of an internal staff meeting. We tried to tune it out, but given our proximity, that was difficult. The situation became particularly uncomfortable while we were eating. She began telling a story involving roaches and repeatedly referenced them several times. Hearing an extended discussion about roaches while eating was enough to ruin our appetites, and we ended up pushing our food aside. We mentioned our concern to our server, but we did not expect her to address the issue herself since the concern was with the owner. Customers come to relax, enjoy a meal, and watch a game, not hear restaurant business issues or discussions about pests while dining. We have enjoyed this establishment in the past, but this experience left us questioning whether we'll return.

The steaks and seafood were great, and the owners father (Luis), gave my son and I a history lesson of the origin of the restaurant (former Norfolk Southern depot) and a guided tour of the hidden porches that you can watch passing trains up close. What a great ambassador to the restaurant! While we were eating there, we experienced 1 southbound and 1 northbound train, my son was able get great videos of both train. Overall great experience and can't recommend it highly enough.

You park outside and have your own parking lot so you have to worry about that but it's very friendly and all the bartenders are really friendly as well. I had been one time and they acted like they were trying to get to know me and I appreciate it that customer service. I just came in for a quick meal to get my macros together, so I got the brussel sprouts and a chicken wrap. The chicken wrap was pretty good. Nothing crazy or nothing amazing or not. Nothing special, but it was still pretty good. The fries were steak fries, cooked pretty well. The brussel sprouts were good. It was just basic bar food so I don't have anything bad to say but just par if that makes any sense.

They host Team Trivia every Thursday at 8pm which can be difficult for a younger group, but is still fun. The ambiance of the bar is great. It's definitely a little limited on seating but that allows the bar to have a cozy vibe and really feel like you're in a British Pub. The bar also has some golf arcade games if trivia isn't your thing. Staffing can sometimes be a little light, but when staying for a while and playing trivia it isn't too noticeable. Most of the food is typical bar food and for all my previous visits it was decent but nothing special. However, on my most recent visit I tried their signature meatloaf and it was a level above all the other food and something I will definitely get again. Overall, I think The King George Tavern provides an excellent experience for a trivia night with friends, and I'll continue going back.

We had to be heavy handed with seasoning our own dishes, and even then, there were specific flavors in each dish that made it disheartening to eat. Some of our food came out cold or lukewarm, which was disappointing. Even our sodas lacked flavor as it seemed to be mostly carbonation (there is only one free re-fill with sodas). The most damning was the portion compared to price. The spring rolls, pictured in this review, were two rolls cut in half and priced at $13.95. The service is also underwhelming. The amount of parties in the restaurant in relation to the availability of our server did not leave an amazing impression. I looked forward to this tavern due to the high and numerous reviews, but one must keep an eye out for the demographic posting them and see if they match your taste.

I ordered a mocktail which was absolutely delicious with fresh watermelon. I ordered the bone in pork chop with a blueberry reduction, green beans and "potato salad". The potato salad is in quotes because it was more like cold whole potatoes with some seasonings on it not really reminiscent of a potato salad per se but I see what they did there. I wasn't a huge fan unfortunately. The pork chop was delicious but would recommend putting the blueberry compote on the side instead of dousing the whole plate with it. The compote was very good and not super sweet which was nice (so I didn't mind eating it with the potatoes and green beans as well). My husband ordered the sirloin steak but as you can see in the picture it looked like someone just put clumps of horseradish all over thinly sliced pieces of sirloin. That much sauce on thin pieces of meat can be a bit overwhelming. The most disappointing was the presentation, it just did not look presentable. I would say the steak still tasted very good. The corn side was also cold. The server was great, no complaints there. My favorite part of the experience was the mocktail. This place has true potential. I will definitely try it again and hope that I can boost the star rating a bit next time.
