He blamed the server for the poor service; the server had blamed the kitchen. Coffee and salad were gratis. Poor meal cost $50. Table location makes a difference in the location. Lots of foot traffic from patrons and staff makes for a stressful meal. Had to wait to be acknowledged after being seated. Stopped in on a Monday afternoon around 4:30 after leaving the beach. Our family didn't have dinner plans and were in no hurry to be anywhere (we're on vacation) so we thought we give it a shot. I walked in and asked if they had room for a party of 8 (my family plus my parents). The hostess asked if I had a reservation? I could see that about 1/3 of the place was empty, I said no, we were just driving by and thought we'd stop in. She told me that in the future I should get a reservation and then just stared at me. Again, I could see the place wasn't packed so I asked if there would be a wait. She said no, it's just that next time I should call for a reservation. I honestly was quite confused by her tone. We were seated and our server (Victoria, who was wonderful) explained the menu to us and took our drink order. My pops ordered a Pineapple Martini, shortly after another server brought out a Gin Martini set it down and then a 3rd server came with his Pineapple Martini and took the Gin. His first drink of the Pineapple included an extra long hair. Kind of gross, but no big deal. Victoria took it back and told him a new one would be on its way. About 10 minutes later she came by and asked if his Pineapple had been delivered? It hadn't. She brought it a couple minutes later. The food was alright. I had the fish and chips and was unimpressed by the dozen fries that were served. The fish was so so. My wife ordered a Cobb salad with Salmon. The salmon was quite raw. My parents and kids said their meals were ok. Definitely won't be stopping in again while in the area. read more

After 20 minutes I walked inside, order was sitting on the take out shelve.....got home and opened boxes..........the shrimp & scallop entrée came with nothing else...truly sad. I know this whole pandemic thing is taking a toll... Service was fine. Food is always kinda just OK from my standpoint with the bread being the best part. But last night, we were served some funky tuna, salty corn and crab soup and the calamari was of the poorest quality. An order had 3 to 4 round pieces of with a diameter of less than an inch and the rest was calamari crumble... Used to be so good. They replaced the order with the same thing. which also didn't get eaten. When my friends tuna was replaced with a filet, the filet was good... BUT the rice that came with it was awful. Almost like it was spoiled or had cornstarch in it. Didn't say anything cause we had made enough noise. I've ordered curbside pickup twice this year. The first time I showed 10 minutes late and then waited for 35 more minutes for my food. I tried again last Friday night. I showed up 10 minutes late again only to be told my protein was not on the grill yet. They told me to come back in 10 minutes. When I returned, a new employee came out and told me my protein was not on the grill yet. A manager came out with a 25$ gift card and apologized. Obviously, this restaurant cannot handle the logistics of basic take out. I would suggest never trying it, unless you like to sit in your car. read more

Last night I took my friend out for her 80th birthday, who happens to have cancer of the tonsils, surgery is next week. She loves Bonefish, (Venice,Fl) and their Cosmos! Needless to say, after surgery next week she won't be eating nor drinking for a long time. Everything was delish but what made it more perfect was our server, Maria. I have eaten at restaurants around the World, I have to say, she was the best I have encountered. Attentive but not too attentive that it's annoying. She was aware of all of her tables as I noticed, no one was tapping their fingers or looking around for her. She made sure my friend received a birthday treat after dinner but most of all, she lifted my friend's spirits just before we left with kind words and wished her well. I am very not very happy. I went to Bonefish grill in Venice,Fl today 5/24/2021. I have not been there since Feb 2020, before COVID. I use to go there for birthdays and Anniversarys. Or I would go to the bar for the bar menu and happy hour! I was very disappointed today!! No bar menu. So we order off the regular menu! I got blackened tacos. The first bite was bones!!! I miss the bar sliders, fish and beef sliders! I dont think I will be going back there in a long time!!..Come on COVID did stop you guys but the bar menu is great!! Over the holidays we met some friends here for dinner. Overall the food was fine. However, the service was quite poor. It appears they employ some sort of team serving model that leaves much to be desired. We were a table of 6 and 3 of our guests arrived shortly after we did. The waiter arrived and took or drink orders. She returned with drinks for some of the table but not all. Assuming she was going back to the bar we waited patiently. She returned but with only 2 of the remaining drinks. She disappeared again only to return without my drink asking if we were ready to order. I finally asked about my drink, only to find out my beer was no longer available! It got worse from there... We resolved the drink issue and ordered our food. It was a little slow but it was busy so no big deal, until the food started to arrive. 3 dinners arrive, then nothing for about 5 mins, then 2 more dinners. 1 dinner MIA. No waiter in sight. 5 more mins goes by nothing.... Finally, we go to the hostess and inquire about our missing meal! Still no waiter. 5 more mins ... nothing. A few minutes later the last of the 6 meals shows up as does our waiter. Way too late... We finished dinner and instead of getting out of there we order desserts. And once again 3 of the 4 desserts show up. 5 mins later the last one shows up! At least they are consistent, Food quality - 3, Service - 1, hence the 2 Star rating. However the service was really unacceptable!! the waitress , was at best mediocre, She confused both the cocktail and dinner order. The person that actually served dinner was atrocious. He instructed me to take a hot plate from him, when I was reluctant to accept it ( I didn't have a napkin to shield me from heat as he did) he proceeded to throw the plate on the table in front of me, without apology and left the table frustrated. Stopped in last Friday with a friend for an early dinner. We had the good fortune to have Nicholas as our waiter. He was fantastic and treated us very well. He was quite knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. He recommended the Bang Bang Shrimp and we were not disappointed.
