Just picked up a to go dinner because I had a $25 gift card for the restaurant or I would've returned it as barely edible. I noticed as I was leaving my corn chowder container had about 4 tablespoons full of corn chowder in it ,no crab meat no bacon...Brought it back in and showed the man at the front desk who tried to explain that that's how it was supposed to be. When I got home with my fish and chips I realized the french fries were inedible, they were soaking in oil and were wet barely cooked limp the worst. On our way home from a long drive from a weekend getaway, we decided to stop into Bonefish for a quick bite. It was a Sunday night around 5 and it was pretty busy, but much to my surprise we got right in and was seated within minutes. We ordered the bang bang shrimp and shared lobster tails. I also had the mac and cheese with bacon, it was amazing and delicious as always. We had Bryan as our server, and we were in awe about how he kept on top of refills wanted to make sure we were happy and taken care of. I did take notice that even as busy as it was there, he seemed to keep in pace with every table to make sure everyone was taken care of. It's always a pleasure to be waited on by friendly people. 3 Stars because your food is great, but the service is not that great. We've eaten here a few times with no problems, until this last time. Your manager was running her mouth when we told her that our order was mixed up with someone Else's. She said her mother had cancer, so we were trying to be nice as pie, but once we paid, and left, she came out and insulted us in the parking lot by saying profanities on the way to her car to try to make us feel bad that she took off a portion of our order to make things "right" out of her own paycheck as she was yelling. The location has only been open a couple of months. And it shows. Bonefish Grill is my favorite chain. I love their house wines and most of their seafood is great. But this new location is the exception. The staff is poorly trained, under educated, and disrespectful to their customers. Thin, blond bartender as much as called me a lier to cover up her lack of knowledge about the wine they serve. it must've been an off day.. but the word "busy" is unacceptable in any service industry establishment. i flew in from AK to grab a bite with my sister and two girls. i showed up a little late, but if i were on time, there would've been an incident. from what i understand, my sister and her fam frequent this place often and are on a first name basis with a few of their servers. i can understand a wait of 30-45 minutes of a "busy" day/night, but to have an inept hostess who doesn't take names down correctly or use their own paging system is f'n stupid. that being said, the hostess.. i believe her name was candace, sat numerous parties that arrived after my sister and her two little girls. yea, if i were there when all of this happened, i would've ripped her and the manager a new one. the server, nathan, was pleasant and checked on us frequently but was not overbearing. i don't ask for much from any establishment except good customer service. the food was bland, the drinks were weak, but i come for the service. poor service reflects poor management. i honestly don't know if i'll ever eat here or at any bonefish again. i boycotted applebee's for 10 years, i don't see why i wouldn't here either. read more

I was so happy to see Bonefish Grill had taken over the abandoned Denny's down the street from my mom's house. We were visiting from out of town, and had never eaten at a Bonefish--we were blown away by how good it was! The atmosphere is dark and intimate, with tables in the bar area or in the main restaurant. (One suggestion I'd give management is to install some sort of vestibule outside the front door to block the light--it's distracting near sunset when you're blinded by the sun every time someone opens the door). If there's a wait, you can just grab a seat at the bar itself. Joe, one of the bartenders, served us once and did a great job. They have a happy hour from opening time until 6:30, where you can get a hefty glass of house wine for three bucks (!), or certain mixed drinks for only 2.50. The food itself is amazing. The bread with olive oil and pesto is very good--kind of reminds me of the flavor of the herbs and olive oil at Carrabba's. The caesar we shared to start was plenty for two, and arrived on an ice-cold plate. The dressing was a near-perfect blend of creamy, mustardy, anchovy, garlicky goodness. Lettuce was green and crisp, the croutons hearty and generous. My favorite entree is the salmon, which I get well done. I'm a huge fan of different sauces, and my waitress was nice enough to bring out all four for me to try--pan Asian (my favorite--like a teriyaki), chimichurri (similar to the pesto olive oil with the bread), mango salsa (just okay, but probably the healthiest), and lemon butter (good, but I would've liked less butter and more lemon). All the fish entrees come with a vegetable medley, and you choose your second side. I always get jasmine rice because it has great flavor and I think rice generally pairs well with fish. I also tried the grouper on one of our three visits, which was good too, but not quite as good as the salmon. My husband got the tuna every time we went, and he raved about it. I'm not a fan of raw tuna, so I can't personally vouch, but he was very enthusiastic. They bring you lots of fresh pickled ginger to go with it, and you also get veggies and one side. Another amazing thing we ate was the bang-bang shrimp. The menu says it's spicy, and it is, but not blow-your-head-off hot. We love spicy food and could've stood some more heat value. Really great flavor, though. All in all an excellent restaurant, and the fact that it's located in South Venice pushes it over the 4-star threshold for me. Tonight's meal was absolutely perfect. Probably one of the best meals we've had lately. Our server was Josh. He explained how everything was cooked and was happy to take make changes based on preferences. For example, fried vs baked vs broiled. We ordered dessert and he took into consideration possible dietary concerns of an older guest. Four of us went last night. It was snowbird season, so reservations were necessary. Pleasant service even though it was crowded. We only ordered main dishes and glasses of wine. The meals came with a hot loaf of bread and we were given an additional one promptly when we asked for it. Total bill for four was around $100. Both people who had the pecan crusted parmesan trout really liked it. My husband had the shrimp tacos which he thought were excellent except he would have chosen to ask for the sour cream on the side if he had known. I had the Seared Tuna Bowl with avocado, jasmine rice and a passionfruit salsa which was outstanding... a good amount of tuna and very reasonably priced ( about $13). It was more than enough for a full meal. We found that wine by the glass was much more reasonable than a bottle unless you want an upscale wine. It is a good choice for a nearby restaurant (5 minute drive) to the local cinema (Galleria 12). read more

I usually like this restaurant. I chose it to celebrate my birthday with friends. We made a reservation but when we were seated it was a table aside of an aisle and too close to other dinners. I was not happy. Then we must have waited close to 10 minutes for our waitress to even come by. We ordered drinks and people that were seated after us were enjoying their drinks while we waited. When she put down my husband drink she reached across him and put another drink to our friend which was rude and certainly not what you would expect from a nicer restaurant. Our food was ok. Mashed potato portion very small and my brother in laws filet steak was so small and thin it was ridiculous for the price! All around not a great experience. Nick, our server in the bar area was fabulous! Calamari was a small portion (asked for it without peppers and they just picked them out before bringing it to us - ruined the presentation and made the plate look empty) and over cooked. Salmon power salads were very good. We would have enjoyed a bit more kale than romaine but the salmon was perfectly cooked and the citrus dressing was delicious and not overwhelming in flavor or volume. But the best part of the meal was the coconut cream pie with rum sauce recommended by Nick. It was fabulous! So disappointed... Made a reservation online. We arrived an was immediately lead to our raised booth seating. Found that it had not been cleaned yet. We were handed a pager and asked to wait while they cleaned our table. 10 minutes passed and we were taken to our table which now was a small table for two boarded by the open kitchen door and a very narrow pass thru to other tables. We actually had to move all our servicing dishes to the center of the small table so passing patrons didn't hit them. Our original table was given to a couple who were complaining that we would have been seated before them. We had a reservation and they did NOT. Ordered the specialty martinis. Waiter apologized for serving them in a regular glass as they ran out of martini glasses. My glass had lipstick on it so it was replaced. Enjoyed the Bang Bang shrimp. Our waitress was GREAT. This has been one of our favorite restaurants but I am seeing signs that they are making changes that do not match the expectations of customers who expect them to be a cut above the other seafood restaurants. The food for the most part is still pretty good. Our table ordered the Tuna Bowl and two broiled salmon. I had the Dungeness crab--nice portions of crab but the crab was on the dry side which occurs because it is shipped cooked and frozen. The plate presentation was pretty bad--they just piled the crab claws and knuckles on the plate. It was not as moist as the crabmeat you get if you have purchased Costco's Dungeness crab. Could not make me an appletini as they did not have the Pucker Sour Apple. Guess that drink has run it's course so I settled for their house special White Cosmo. It was rather ordinary tasting. We ordered dessert-the menu listed them as Creme Brûlée and Banana's Foster. But what arrive was chocolate pudding with whipped cream! We sent back the bananas foster because it was served in a frozen bowl which completely cooled the brown sugar and butter glaze. Truth in menu should trump the Chef's interpretation of a dish. Waiter said I was the first customer to call them on it. But he did not know what classic bananas foster prepared table-side and flambéed looked like. But we will return because they are still our go-to high end place for special meals. read more

It's not often you see someone take care of multiple bar customers/tables with ease while being so personable at the same time. Bar tender was rather arrogant and insulting. It took a while to even get acknowledged. I know they were busy but it was beyond. I asked what kinds of flavored vodka thy had. He asked what kind I wanted. Then he said he would make on for me from real fruit but I declined. He insulted me when I declined asking me if my fake flavors and additives were a better flavor etc. and he'd give it to me if that's what I really wanted.... Rude. Food was pretty good. Stopped there tonight for Happy Hour. My wife ordered the Potstickers as she always have them there. They were not the same as they were coveted in crispy onions and scallions with no sauce! I had the Wagyu sliders ordered rare and came out WELL DONE!!!! My wife then ordered the house salad. Came out with Pumpkin seeds which was not mentioned on the menu and my wife does not like. Came with, get this 2 SLICES OF HEART OF PALM AND 1 KALAMATA OLIVE cut in half!!!! Really Bonefish!!! Can you spare it???? Every time we ordered a drink the Bartender would bring us a drink BUT not take away the empty glass!!! When we left our 6 empty glasses still on the bar!! Great training Bonefish!!! Return?
