Updated Review Brunch at Bonefish I referenced coming to Bonefish for Girls Brunch since I have been able to indulge in the bottomless Mimosa/Bellini's/Bloody Mary's. That was about the only thing that was positive about our experience.Our waitress would say she would be right back with items requested but wouldn't come back for 15 minutes. Since then, we have returned several times [at lunch] and the food is always consistently good. The excellent service is a testament to good management and training. We all got waters which came with a small bowl of lemons and a carafe full of water for refills. Bread with oil and herbs was provided. The bread was too crunchy. I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be that hard, if it was over cooked or stale. I tried the Cobb salad. It was decent but overpriced. It came with chicken, bacon, tomato, avocado, cheese and croutons. The croutons tasted homemade! The underside of the avocado was brown. It tasted fine, just wasn't pretty. I'm a ranch snob, the ranch was ok. Not my favorite but edible. My coworkers devoured the bang bang shrimp and raved about their meals. The servers are friendly and very knowledgable concerning the food and cocktail menu. The best appetizer is the bang bang shrimp. Others such as the fried calamari and mussels are worth ordering as well. Entrees such as tilapia imperial, pecan crusted trout, grilled shrimp & scallops and mahi mahi are not to be missed. We have heard the hype about how good the food was and amazingly good the cocktails are so we thought we'd give it a try. First word of warning - dining alone? Don't step out for a moment or use the facilities. A customer seated next to us did - they cam back to find the table cleaned off and waiting to be set for the next customer. They not even eaten their entree! We were shown to ours seats only to find there were none available. We stood in the middle of the restaurant while we waited for a table to cleaned. We ordered our cocktails and the server brought bread and dipping oil. Cocktails came and they were very good. We ordered the corn chowder, filet, and the Gnocchi Thermidor. The chowder was good. We had bread on our bread plates but the serving plate only had the dipping oil left and at this point no napkins to clean the oil from our fingers. We were asked if we wanted more bread - we answered no - so the plate was removed very quickly - oil and all - so had nothing for the bread on our bread plate. The food came - the filet was warm and the gnocchi cold. The server took the gnocchi back - the manager returned about 10 minutes later. He did apologize for the quality of the food and provided the hot Thermidor. He returned and asked how it was - I replied there was one problem - not one gnocchi in my Gnocchi Thermidor! He again apologized and asked to make it right - by then my companion had already finished his meal and I only wanted a to go container. He did attempt to right it with certificates to use on our return - we left them with the hostess stating we won't be back. Too many other places to eat in the area - consider one of them. read more

But when I use to go often, their bang bang shrimp was always my go to so of course, that's what I went. Prior to my appetizer, I ordered a appletini but they didn't have it so I settled for pomegranate which was actually good, I had 2. Once the nice warm bread and the olive oil that you dip it in came, I hardly had anymore room for my entree. I ordered steak and crab cake. The food was good. The whipped mash potato and broccoli were okay. I was trying not to order something extra fatty but I should've ordered their bacon mac and cheese which was an extra cost unlike the broccoli and mash. It was just ok. I think I might've enjoyed the mac and cheese more. Our service was good. Our waiter was nice and personable. Overall it was a nice experience after coming back after all these years. I've always like the dim lighting and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Today people were sat at a nice safe distance. It was made with Reyka small-batch vodka, freshly muddled red raspberries, and fresh squeezed lemon juice. DELICIOUS! The only downside that was I was driving. Why do I always find drinks I love on "school nights?" So not fair! We split the Bang Bang Shrimp. A moral imperative for any Bonefish Grill diner, right? As always, very tasty! I had the Bonefish House Salad. It was a very good salad made with hearts of palm, kalamata olives, tossed with a citrus herb vinaigrette. I also chose to add Danish Bleu Cheese because basically...I love cheese. The portion was perfect. Like I have said in my past reviews, I am not a big eater. Splitting the Bang Bang Shrimp and having my salad was perfect for me. My companion evilly ordered the Macadamia Nut Brownie for dessert, which is a flourless brownie with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was too tempting for me to not resist a couple of bites. Yum! This certainly was one of the best experiences I have had at a Bonefish Grille. I have dined at four Bonefish Grille Bay Area locations, and this by far, is the best location. I don't know if it was the service, the location itself, the company I was keeping, or just the mere fact it was BANG WEDNESDAY, but I was beyond thrilled! Sunday brunch with endless bubbles. That's what I ordered this past weekend and got the surf and turf eggs benedict. For the bubbles you can choose blackberry sangria, Bellini or a mimosa. I tried the sangria at first, but it was way too sweet, so I had my drinks switched to the mimosas. The eggs benedict and thin slices of filet and lobster along with the traditional hollandaise sauce on top of a poached egg and English muffin. Very nice modern decor and very clean. I was pleasantly surprised on my first trip here! I was unsure of how good a chain seafood restaurant could be, but the food and service were way above my expectations! They didn't have an expansive menu, which is most cases I like because it is much easier to choose something to eat. I had their lump crab and corn chowder soup - AWESOME! For an appetizer the table also got their flash fried calamari, which came with the Asian Zing Bang Bang Sauce and was unlike anything I've ever tried before. I got the wood-grilled tilapia as an entree and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We were way too full for dessert, so no opinion available there. For brunch you can do endless mimosa, bellini or sangria. I didn't do it but next time I will for sure! I ordered the Bang Bang Benedict and it was soo good!!!
