As far as chain restaurants this one was standatd fare. Newer place clean friendly atmosphere. The beers here are very large and served well chilled. Good place to go with some buddies for beers and okay food. I've been to quite a few restaurants here in lubbock and although the food is okay if I come back to this area I will probably not retry this location. Prices are fair for the amount you receive. Really good barbecue for a franchise. I had burnt tips salad, which was a bit chewy, but had good flavor. The Carolina pulled pork sandwich was very good. The BBQ beans were surprisingly tasty! Worst food from a Bone Daddy's I have ever had. All the meat was cold. The brisket was very dry and tasteless. The buns were so dry they could have been considered toast. We have a Bone Daddy's in Arlington Texas and I have been going there for 8 years now with no issues. First time here at the one in Lubbock on a Tuesday night and the bar tender just brought me my check with no thank you or anything. Not the best customer service if you ask me and they were out of shiner bock. Our meal was very tasty and the service was great. We enjoyed the hot towels since the BBQ was messy which means it was great!! The building was nice and looks like it is old and barny I love it. Bone Daddies is everything Rudy's should be. I've gotten the 3 meat combo 5 times now, and the backyard chicken is right up there with the best BBQ you can get in the area. The potatoes are awesome, and the service is always spot on. The only potential disappointment is that the appetizers aren't quite as good as they sound on the menu. Guess what??? Both orders were nothing but the butt end of the meat & pure 100% Fat....that's right..fat fat greasey chopped brisket plate... big fat regret... nothing but fat. 5) I showed a big chunk of fat I spit out to the waitress. All she said was that she told the cooks "Lean no fat". She did not offer to get us something else or to even check if the sliced were available now. 6) On a Saturday nite, there had to brisket ready for evening customers. We'll never know. 7) did not finish my plate, my husband did & we barely made it home before the Wrath of Bone daddy's attacked out the rear entrance. Too much grease. Runs right through you. GREAT FOOD! TERRIBLE SERVICE! We were seated quickly (it was 6pm--the restaurant was not busy yet) and our drink orders were taken and brought. Since it was our first time, she said she'd give us a few more minutes to look over the menu. Over 10 minutes later, she took our order and we asked for some more ice for our tea. When our food came out, we had to ask the waitress who brought it out to bring us ice again. The food was amazing!!! Great flavors, portions, etc!! We love the BBQ sauce! We never received bread or refills until we asked for them and again--5+ minutes went by. During the whole visit, restaurant staff were "hanging out" at the POS kiosk, which was near our table. Another issue was the waitress did not know the menu well...I asked the difference between two chicken options and she got them mixed up...so I got the opposite of what I thought I was ordering...not a huge issue but it just added to everything else. She also kept the coin change that we were supposed to get back from our check. I would love to come back but I'm hoping for better service!! read more

Overall the service was fast and the food came out in no time so I wanted to bring my girlfriend here to try. Second time I went around 8PM but we got seated right away. We waited about 10 minutes before our server got to us to take our order. The beer was nice and cold and the bread is fantastic. This time we opted for the 3 meat plate with green beans and mac and cheese. The brisket only has 3 small slices, the pulled pork was too dry for our liking and the hot link sausages weren't anything special. There was a annoying number of gnats and flies buzzing around us the whole time so that was annoying. Our server didn't check up on us and took a while to even get us our check. I stopped in here on a Wednesday night around 6pm to get takeout. I found a seat at the bar. The bartenders were very attentive. I ordered the bone-in chicken with potato salad and baked beans. The chicken had a great smokey flavor, even after I peeled off the skin. It seemed like it wouldn't have much meat to it but it did. The potato salad and the beans were good. The best thing was definitely the chicken and the service. I have had a lot of BBQ chicken, and this was really flavorful. The atmosphere seemed great, too. Do not waste your time! Wife and I waited over an hour after being seated before we walked out. At 30 minutes in,when the waitress asked if we were still doing ok, I asked if it normally takes this long ;was told after checking with the kitchen that our food was coming. 10 minutes later, waitress comes over to let us know a manager would be coming by to talk to us. At this point we are intrigued- is he/she going to tell us they can't serve us? Asked the front desk to fetch the manager to get an answer as to what the problem was. I asked her to be truthful and at least try to go to kitchen and find out what the deal was. She finally comes back and tells me their computer system had a glitch and the orders were not being put in. Just my order! More lies. Still don't know the real reason. Lubbock drives me crazy with their lack of sit down BBQ places. Then Bone Daddy's opened up absolutely fixing this issue for me. No reason to go anywhere else considering this place has phenomenal service, great food at reasonable price. Personal favorite is brisket and burnt ends. Fried okra is also on point. read more

We went here on Christmas Eve and it was horrible. The host seated us in a booth that was open to the kitchen which was weird. The service was below average and the food was terrible! Really wasn't impressed with Bone Daddy's in Lubbock. Took 15 minutes to be seated which is standard but it seemed like we spent the entire night waiting for everything. Our table never received a basket of rolls, when we asked our waitress said that they didn't have any made at the beginning of our meal but we were never offered any at any point during our meal. When our appetizer arrived we still didn't have any silverware and had to flag down a waitress to bring us some because we couldn't find ours. The appetizer was AMAZING it was the stuffed jalapeños and while they were super spicy they had amazing flavor. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, my husband ordered the BBQ burger that was "smothered" in queso and my mom ordered a meat plate with sliced brisket. The chicken was literally COVERED in sausage gravy that had an odd flavor. I love gravy but oh my lanta that was too much. My husband's burger barely had any queso on it so we requested a side of queso because he really wanted it to live up to its description, plus he loves cheese lol. My moms brisket plate was good but nothing compared to the BBQ that they serve at The Shack. All in all it was kind of a mediocre experience with mediocre food. We love food and we love to go out to eat but this place just really didn't wow us. Probably won't be back. read more
