My boyfriend & I decided to come here for lunch today & I must say, this place is absolutely delicious and the service was nothing short of great. Everyone was friendly & made sure we were attended to at all times. We got half spicy & half soy garlic wings. The soy garlic was nothing too special but the spicy wings were amazing! Also, don't miss out on getting their seasoned fries with their special sauce. You won't regret that either, definitely a 5/5. read more

After having bonchon in NY a couple times along with one of fort Lee, I was happy to find that there was one located right next to Kean University! Luckily there is a parking lot in the back, if you dislike street parking like me :P Let's see, I absolutely love the Soy garlic wings there (my go-to lunch), Crispy, aromatic and super flavorful. A bit sad that the dine-in doesn't seem to have a chill atmosphere like in NY, but I don't mind too much. And they don't give the pickled radish juices with the radish! :( All in all -- great place to get some take out when your in the mood for chicken! read more

This is the best Chinese food in town. The ingredients are top quality! White meat chicken only! Good flavor and fare portions.

We checked out this place because we were in the mood for Korean chicken and boy, were we hooked! Food was amazing! We ordered a combo of wings and drumsticks. There are two flavors: Soy Garlic or Spicy. We were warned that the spicy was extremely hot so we opted out of that. Soy garlic flavor was delicious! Wings are fried to a perfect crisp! We also ordered Beef House Fried Rice and that was delicious, as well. Will definitely return! There are tables inside so the place is an eat-in restaurant that also has to-go options. There is plenty of street parking, along with a small parking lot in the back. read more

I had to wait over an hour for my order that I placed online. I ordered curbside, and I called to let them know where I was located. I actually waited for almost two hours in the parking lot. When the young lady finally came outside, she blames it on the kitchen. After, my family and I had to get another place for our food. The zucchini fries were burned and soggy. The French fries were rubbery and cold. When I tried to call, they didn't answer my call. I have tried severe times now to call about my order, but they refuse to answer. read more

The was a culinary nightmare. Let's start with the chicken I ordered, it was for my family of 4, all adults, 2 young men. I purchased 8 drumsticks, and 15 or so wingettes, 2 orders of beef tacos and 2 orders of the shrimp dumplings, and coleslaw. I picked the order up on my way home from the airport. This Bonchon is about an hour from my home. I get home, starving, my first meal of the day. The beef in the taco looked relatively tender, but in fact was more like beef jerky. The shrimp in the dumplings seemed to have been substituted with that imitation crab meat, no coleslaw. The chicken was salty enough for me to season 40lbs. of chicken. The chicken was so hard, you could barely tear it with your teeth. Think of wood. I called the store, explained my dilemma, their response, take a picture and bring the purchase back. I explained that I was an hour away, 2 hours roundtrip. I sent them a copy of my receipt and photographed the food. Bottom line they did nothing. I spent around $100 dollars in this dump. Stay away, far away. read more

One dish wonder! I love the soy garlic chicken but everything else is pretty poor like the japchae, bulgogi and chicken katsu. They even mess up the rice. read more

Eh it was okay... the seasoned fries were good the wings were okay.. spicy is spicy but the wings are nothing to go crazy over. They're crunchy but moist on the inside just wish they had regular Buffalo because that would've been killer or any different flavors for that matter... probably won't go back but is cool to say I tried it. read more

Yummy crispy crunchy fried chicken. Very mediocre bibimbap. Interior is ok. Just basic fast food restaurant. I will only be back for chicken strips. read more

It's fried chicken. It's like fried chicken that's crispy and no let greasy but not dry. It's hard to explain but I definitely recommend it. I defiantly see my self going out of the way to go this place specifically. If you like fried chicken with an Asian twist, this is your place ! They were playing new hip hop hits. I found it a little confusing. I just bopped my head in sync with the music. read more

Everything except the wings tastes nasty. And the wings are a hit or miss. Sometimes they're great, sometimes they're gross. Very inconsistent with the quality of food. I would also think twice about ordering rice from here as well. The two times i had were not good at all. The customer service is OK. Not great. There are a lot of Highschool kids who work there so I guess that's understandable. I stopped going to Bon Chon- Union a while ago because i kept getting disappointed. read more

During my first few years coming here, this place was definitely 5 starts without a doubt. Food and service was perfect. However, the past few times I've came here I was less than satisfied. That is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The reason why I'm giving 4 stars is due to the quality of service and food. When I would get the wings lunch special with rice, my rice would come out perfectly fine. Now, I guess they switched cooks because every time I get the same order the rice is either a hit or miss. Most of the time, my rice would come out dry and I would barely even touch it. Lastly, I find that one of the waitresses finds it difficult to handle multiple things at once which is a result of my 4 star rating instead of a 5. read more

This was my very first experience with BonChon.. My GF had it at work and wouldn't stop talking about it for a week straight. We decided to go on a weekend and I was not disappointed. I had the spicy chicken strips, mixed with regular chicken strips. They were amazing. It might appear like some fast food restaurant chain, but it's far from it. I would recommend this place to anyone that's curious about it. I'll come back here again sometime soon to have another item. Another one. read more

LOVE korean fried chicken! I was a little worried because the pictures on yelp make the chicken look not tasty... When I went, I realized it's the lighting. The chicken is very good- on par with other Bon Chon restaurants I've been to. The spicy did seem a bit spicier though. This restaurant is in downtown Union... kinda hard to get to and parking was not easy. read more

Perfection takes time. That's the one thing we have to learn for today. We were craving that signature fry on the chicken. We ordered the bibimbap, the chicken wings and the chicken drumsticks. Half and half. It was around the time they close. My mom had that already grim look, she was hangry, wasn't up to waiting for the food. We had waited twenty minutes and the food finally came out. We ended up going from eat in to take out. We drove home, very hungry, but I haven't eaten since 12pm and it was hitting 8pm. Once we got home though, the smells were hitting us. The bibimbap was really tasty, there were pickled radishes, mushrooms, could use a few more greens. They give you that spicy red sauce, gochujang to spice up your life. They offer various meats to choose from for the bibimbap. The chicken wings and the drums are great. Very crispy and the flavor is intense. The spice from the spicy is really tasty good spice from it, might be a bit hot for some people but the flavor is there. Hey if you like waiting for really good quality food, you won't forget the chicken you eat from here. Definitely check it out! read more

I ordered two boxes of wings/drums for my birthday. Both were overcooked and burnt. When I called BonChon they said I had to send an email because there was no manager to get the issue resolved and I told them I just wanted a new order cooked properly. They then said there was a manager there. I spoke to the manager who said I had to bring the physical food back to be inspected. This was excessive. Then when I called again to get the problem resolved, they have me sitting on hold for over 10 minutes and don't seem to be coming back to the phone. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE AS THE WINGS ARE BURNT AND THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE! read more

Man I'm addicted to this place! I could eat it every day. Crispy sweet juicy lol I just love this chicken! It's perfect

Excellent fried chicken! The chicken was super crisp and moist, without a thick batter typically associated with fried chicken. We tried both sauces and preferred the honey-soy like many reviewers. The bibimbap was delicious too. Highly recommended! read more

Loved bon chon ever since I had it in NYC. Luckily, this location in Union opened up and I don't have to travel too far to devour my korean fried chicken lol. Unlike the Leonia location, the Union establishment has a dine in service with a waiting staff. They start you with some pickled radish as a complimentary appetizer and water. Then my buddy and I ordered the soy garlic and spicy wings. 10 per flavor. The initial crunch was amazing and the flavor was all there. Your fingers will get greasy but does it matter if you're enjoying it?? Korean soul food :). The cinnamon fries were real tasty too. Try it out! read more

The food here is great but it takes forever for it to be ready. On two separate occasions, my order took way much longer than the staff indicated. One both occasions, they kept telling me food will be ready in 2 minutes when in fact it wasn't going to be. On all occasions, food was ready about 30 minutes after the initial quoted time. This restaurant needs to keep it real with customers. read more

I love bon chon chicken so naturally I want this place to succeed so I will write an honest review in hopes that the management will take notice and make some adjustments. My wife, child, and I came on a Sunday afternoon, i was very surprised to find a bon chon restaurant so close to us. The place was packed but there were some open tables so we took a seat. I was pleasantly surprised to find an expanded menu and after some deliberations we placed our order for Bon chon chicken since it is known for their crispy and savory chicken. The order took 1 hour to make, I understand that it was busy so i can forgive that but what upsets me is that even for 1 hour they rushed so much that the quality was not there. When we received our food after 1 hour the chicken was not hot, not as crispy as I remember and actually quite salty. There was too much soy in my soy garlic. Very salty. Normally, bon chon chicken has a great blend of salty, sweet, and soy garlic flavors leaning on the lightly more sweet than salty side thus making it savory. Everyone that has had bon chon chicken in NYC or Fort Lee knows that bon chon chicken is very, very, very crispy and salty/sweet. that is why it is so popular with people and why there are so many imitators like boom boom chicken, UFC, and Kyochon. I just hope that the management is able to adjust formula or set the formula correctly. Sacrificing quality is the worst because as for me, I will not come back to an establishment that continuously serves me food that I will not enjoy. Most restaurants will use shortcuts to make the food come out faster but that is not the correct way to do business. I remember seeing signs on the bon chon restaurant in fort lee, "30 minute wait, Our chicken is made to order". That sign ensures me that I will be getting a great quality product. Quality over quantity will get your patrons to come back more often. You will get quantity once every one raves about how good the chicken is here. I know a lot of people and once they hear that this place is great they will bring everyone. Kababayan Recommendation I will come back and try it again later to see if things improve. If they do I will change and write another review and let everyone know. Salamat read more

Great chicken and Bibimbop. Quality is the same as in the city. The Bibimbop rice was done perfectly - crispy on the outside. And they deliver to as far as short hills (with a $40 minimum). The restaurant ambience is like an upscale fast food restaurant (similar to a cosi's). They serve complementary tea like an Asian restaurant should. Minus one star for slightly dirty plate (they brought a clean one upon request). read more

Usually order Korean Tacos spicy chicken because they were awesome. Last 2 orders were reg order and a disappointment in flavor. Today might be my fault. I had ordered multiple times last yr - perfect and always spicy chicken. Well sent someone 1st time and server only asked chix or beef. How wld 1st timer know to mention spicy? Now I have these tasteless bland unseasoned chicken things here. So take your time when ordering and use menus for available options. Ill have to go back to their chicken strips half spicy/half soy garlic. read more

Bonchon is one of the few places (read only) within twenty minutes of my house so I often find myself here when craving Korean fried chicken. I only ever get the lunch special ($9 plus tax) since I think they're a bit on the pricey side for wings and a side and a drink when you get it outside of the lunch hours. For that 9 dollars you get either 4 drums, 8 wings or 2 drums and 4 wings. Flavor profile on the wings- freaking fantastic. I cannot figure out which one is my favorite so I always get half and half soy garlic and spicy. Word to the wise- if you don't like spicy then don't get the spicy, it actually has a pretty decent kick to it. In terms of the chicken itself, that's where this place loses stars on consistency. Sometimes my chicken is double fried to perfection and other times I feel like they recooked/ reheated chicken that had been sitting there a while. It looks burnt and then somehow isn't crunchy at all. Not what I'd expect after waiting twenty plus minutes for something they say is made to order. That being said, I would honestly just come here for the fries alone without getting the chicken because the fries are THAT good. All in all, chicken can be a hit or miss but the fries are always a hit and for that reason I will go back whenever I have a craving for Korean fried chicken and don't feel like trekking forty minutes away read more

As far as Korean fried chicken goes, Bonchon isn't my favorite. But, as far as a chain restaurant goes, I think it's pretty decent. If you want to order something to go for dinner and you are craving the soy garlic flavors, why not? Personally, I wish the chicken skin at Bonchon would be crispier. Not sure how other mom and pop Korean restaurants do it but that's what makes the Korean fried chicken so special. Pretty decent though overall. read more

I'm a big fan of korean fried chicken and this location certainly doesn't disappoint. It's pretty standard with other Bonchons if you've been to them before. If not, think fried chicken wings with sweet and spicy or sweet and salty flavors to it. My one gripe that holds me back from giving this spot five stars is the possible improvement in their cooking. I've had to wait upwards of 30 minutes for a meal once when there were no other customers around. Love the food though. read more

We tried this place for dinner this last weekend. Overall, The food is good but service is slow. Love the crispy chicken. Bibimbap is good but not the best. But, hey, this is just a fast food chain kind of place. So the food is over our expectation. Will come back again. read more

This is my favorite spot for chicken wings. I love their soy garlic flavor. Their wings are extra crispy and packed with flavor. The staff are super nice and service is fast. Overall, I love this place and you can always find something new to try on the menu and know you will love it. read more

I love the chicken spices here. The appetizers are great with the varieties. The combinations of chicken wings/drums sets or another combo helps when you want to try different pieces of meat. Their fries are good as it comes in those cone-cups. The sauce is slathered on the chicken: either spicy hot sauce or soy&garlic. They're both good, but you better have a good tolerance of spicy food- hot sauce. Its close by Kean so it's a go to with my friends. While we wait for food to be done, we can just walk 1 ft away to Kung Fu Tea, which is connected indoors. Pricing is above average but the taste of the food is so good. read more

If I could give it a NEGATIVE rating, I would. My husband and I drove 50 minutes to come get our takeout order and I was really hoping for everything that the website showed but sadly I received nothing remotely like it. Let's start with the tiny container of what was supposed to be fried calamari, which I'm sure was actually BUNG! It was an over fried cluster of uniform shaped, disgustingly over salted, rubber bands that smelled so horrible, like fish that had been laying out in the sun for days! Gross...threw it out immediately!!. The French fries were thrown into a Chinese wax lined cardboard container and were, again, soooo disgustingly salty, they were inedible, not to mention soggy as hell. The chicken wings were cooked good but amazingly, they had no flavor. We ordered the plain fried but THAT had no salt, pepper or any flavored seasoning. We also didn't get our coleslaw that was part of our chicken meal. This was by far one of, if not the worst takeout food I've ever had in my life and will never go to a Bon Chon again. Don't waste your calories at this place unless you want a sodium overload. read more

I ordered on Valentine's Day at 6:45 PM the food came at 8:24 PM the food was cold I told the driver to come inside I called the register the girl answered and she said that there's nothing they could do except that I could send the food back and wait another 30 minutes which means my order would not be ready before nine something and I have a four-year-old I explained to her that I don't know what to tell him because he's hungry and she proceeded to tell me that she could either take the food back or remake it. No thanks! Zero Customer Service! But the delivery guy was extremely nice and said he was sorry but it was not HIS fault, he was actually the chef.. Helping out. :-( Not HAPPY! read more

Been going to this BonChon for two year. I love this place but i went there two weeks ago and ordered the chicken strips. The strips are smaller and thinner than what they use to be.
