So the chicken is good and all but everything else is severely lacking. Not sure why I paid extra for seasoned fries that have little to no seasoning and what seasoning was there is spilled all over the bag since the fries were laid down flat and spilling out. The service here is very poor and has been for a while, I'm surprised the phone actually worked today since it hasn't worked since probably last year. I love bonchon, but this location has failed to keep up with the consistency of the franchise, ive come here 4 times since they first messed up my order and im sad to say it keeps getting worse, last time i picked up my order and there was no sauce on my chicken at all, my rice cakes were over cooked and the sauce and cheese looked like scrambled eggs in way too much oil, and you never know if your chicken will be undercooked or way over, very dissapointing being that its so close to my house but ill be taking my business to another bon chon from here on out read more

Alright first of all when you put someone on hold and don't give someone a second to even say a word then left on hold for 5 minutes plus then never answer and people are unprofessional in there workers are showing affection for each other while at work, they lost a customer and honestly I'm not upset everyone check out rooster spin in Westfield way better and same price for better quality food! read more

I ordered on Valentine's Day at 6:45 PM the food came at 8:24 PM the food was cold I told the driver to come inside I called the register the girl answered and she said that there's nothing they could do except that I could send the food back and wait another 30 minutes which means my order would not be ready before nine something and I have a four-year-old I explained to her that I don't know what to tell him because he's hungry and she proceeded to tell me that she could either take the food back or remake it. Their garlic chicken wings is addictive! But you have to place your order way ahead of time, so you won't be dissapointed when you pick it up. I split the wings up into hot, soy garlic, and naked so he could try all options and flavors because he was skeptical to begin with and had low expectations. I've attempted to get food here at least three times. Every time they are closed or and they aren't accepting online orders (on a Friday evening?!?) and said I could preorder for Sunday! The Union location of Bonchon is supposed to close at 7PM. I get that you don't want anyone coming in at 6:30 pm because I'm sure the staff wants to go home. But at 5pm I should still be able to place an order. Everyone keeps telling me how good the chicken is here - I guess I'll never find out. I've been to the ones in NYC and Fort Lee before, and this Bonchon in Union is definetly on their level. The hot wings are hotter than at other locations, so I would absolutely recommend just sticking with the Soy garlic sauce (make sure you ask for extra sauce when you order).Best wings by far in the area. read more

I just spent $35.22 on a takeout order of 15 pieces of chicken. The cashier, Mark Bautista, advised me it comes with a free side order of radish. They never gave me the free side of radish. What a bunch of dishonest, rip-off artists. I want my $35.22 back!!!!!!! I called to let them know that they forgot to include the radish. I first had Bon Chon chicken in Manhattan, NY, and absolutely went crazy for them.. The soy garlic is perfect, hot Garlic is yummy as well, however, I'm not a fan of spicy food... The minute I found out there was a restaurant closer to my home in New Jersey I ran there soooooo fast. However, my excitement was soon turned into disappointment. I order 20 piece wings, half and half, my disappointment came as I opened the box. The wings were not coated with sauce. We also ordered seasoned fried, the same fries I had in NY, but I received fries without any flavoring. So thinking maybe it was a mistake, we order again months later on Sunday night Superbowl. Once again 20 pieces half and half with season fries, and once again, NO sauce on the wings, fries were good though. We will NOT be ordering Bon Chon anymore, that was $30 in the trash. Tasty but they were dry and fried too hard for me. I bought them just before they closed on a Saturday night. Maybe they had been sitting there for awhile. Who knows? Other than that, it's real tough to think how all these wing places charge $1 per chicken wing! Food was fine. The reviews are right, the spicy is SPICY. I was looking for an east coast alternative to my beloved Furaibo. We had the japchae (large portion), chicken strips (half and half), chicken katsu and bulgogi. The katsu was fine (needed more katsu sauce) and the chicken was crispy--even when cold. I am not a fan of traditional fried chicken (hence the Furaibo reference). This was between american and japanese style. Again, extra points for the crispy factor. The bulgogi was a large portion (and it was the lunch size) it was better than the katsu. This was good in a pinch. Took off two stars for being overcharged (did not receive the itemized receipt; only the summary). If you make a point of telling me that I am being charged extra for an item, I kind of expect that item to be in the bag after I pay for it (especially after I see you check the order against the items in the bag). Called Fri 12:53pm, Order was for 2 Lunch Chicken Strip Meals. "Ready in 20-25 minutes." Arrived at 1:32pm, was told it would be "3 more minutes." Food was Ready @ 1:46pm. It's unfortunate that they gave the incorrect estimate on how long the order would take (told "20-25mins" and it took 50+mins). The saucing on the chicken looked haphazard but the seasoning was still detectable. Perhaps they were short staffed that afternoon but something is wrong when the estimated time is more than 25mins faster than the actual time, for a simple order. read more

Only leaving one star for the food. Bulgogi fried rice is exceptional. Service was the worse experience I've ever had. I've been visiting this location for several years now and have always loved the service and food. Me and my sister walk in to find two new employees and we should've taken that as a warning to leave right then and there. A young lady with curly hair that wasn't in uniform ready to work takes our order and she returns with our food. And brings our beverages and utensils a few minutes after the food which is strange. Shouldn't the tables be already set with utensils and beverages come before the food? Also the waitress' hair wasn't tied back which isn't hygienic whatsoever. Low and behold my sister found a piece of the waitress' hair in her food. Our waitress was then nowhere to be found and left the other employee by himself and the restaurant went to shambles. Phone was ringing off the hook and the owner stood there and didn't know how to help. We ordered two lunch specials and we were missing a side of seasoned fries which are $2 extra and we flagged down the young man and told him that we saw our fries just sitting there in the window and he said they were for a different table. A few minutes pass by and they're still sitting there. We go up to pay and we still see the fries and I called him out on it. We just told him to take the fries off the bill and it was this whole ordeal that he didn't know how to take the fries off the bill and had to re ring in our order. We even saw a table with a father and his two hungry young children that ordered. Service was so bad that they left and they tried to bring out the food only to find out that this particular table left. Sad and pathetic. This location needs better employees trained for better service. Won't be coming back. read more

I have been a customer multiple times in the pass month. Location is in Union. Parking is in the back. If you get lucky, then you can probably find street parking. The decor is not much but I don't mind it. There is a tv and I always watch American Ninja when I wait for my food. This location also Korean Pop Music if you are into that. The chicken is amazing, I always get a combination of hot and garlic soy. The fries, beef bugogi, and chicken Katsura are delicious also. If you dine in, you may have to wait. The secret is to call in to and preorder your meal. That way you don't have to wait. Highly recommend. read more
