I don't understand how I've never reviewed Bonchon! It's the first KFC I tried, the OG - and the best, hands down. We've sampled others in the area but always end up back at Bonchon, mostly for the soy garlic fried chicken. Generally we get a wings/drumstick combo for the family. Soy garlic is great for anyone averse to spice, though my family usually wants half/half spicy. Last time I tried the new Korean BBQ flavor, and it adds a little spice (but not too much) and a bit of tang, also. I love the pickled daikon, though my family usually wants some cole slaw too (which I find meh, personally). We often add an order of Jap chae, which is decent. If we are eating in (seldom) we might add fries or pajeong (pancake), but those don't hold up to takeout so I haven't had them lately. Atmosphere is pretty bare, with TVs usually playing sports. Anyway, for KFC, don't go to the others (unless you like some other weird flavors, like honey or parmesan), just get Bonchon! read more

Pretty good Korean fried chicken place! I got the 5piece drums with both sauces, and it really hit the spot! The spicy sauce is at a good, strong spice level, so definitely keep that in mind. We had Vons a few weeks ago and my son really enjoyed it. He wanted fried chicken again so we went for Bonchon this time. We got the family meal: 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, white rice and two sides (fries and coleslaw for us). All for $40. It was plenty of food for two adults and two small kids. The sides aren't particularly large so most of the calories is from the chicken itself. My wife and I enjoyed the spicy fried chicken. It **is** spicy !! It may not feel like it the first bite but it'll burn after a few bites and linger there for a bit. So be warned. I had a piece of the garlic soy, too, and it was good. Skin is super crunchy and meat is well cooked and not dry. For me, I think it's a toss-up between Bonchon and Vons. Although Vons is a bit closer. The most dry chicken I've ever had. These were your basic chicken nuggets not even chicken tenders.. nuggets. This is NOT Korean bbq chicken. This is not Korean fried chicken. Ordered online around 6 pm. Parking is easy to find as Bonchon is located in a large plaza like area. From a prior experience, Bonchon was great. I had the spicy chicken combo and it was packed with flavor. It has a good kick and wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. This time I ordered the Soy garlic chicken combo (5/5): like the spicy version it was packed with flavor. The chicken was cooked really well. The outside was crunchy while the inside was tender and soft. Bonchon is a great place and never seems to fail me. It also seems like a great place for comfort food. I had the delicious pleasure of trying a chicken wing yesterday and the following day I had to check out their menu and order some for myself. I knew I had to get more of the spicy wings and saw their menu had a lunch option. I called for a pickup order and got a 6 piece wing (flavor: spicy) that came with a side (I picked steamed rice)! I also ordered zucchini fries and kimchi. The employee taking my order took down my name and telephone number and noted it be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived and was greeted and I gave him my name. He noted he'd call my name when my order was ready. After about 2 minutes I heard my name got my order and I was on my way. I got home and was super excited to dig in. I found the zucchini fries in a brown bag with an orange colored sauce. The kimchi was in a plastic container. The chicken wings were in a box. I searched the rest of the bag for my steamed rice but it wasn't there. I was really disappointed and even looked twice hoping I missed it. I opened the box of wings and took a big bite. It's a crispy and delicious chicken wing. The flavor is tangy and spicy. Low key numbed my face but the flavor is so enjoyable. It's not a spicy mouth numbing pain. The zucchini fries have a crispy coating and the sauce it comes with compliments it perfectly. Having the zucchini fries in a brown bag helped them to not get soggy which was great! I could eat these like potato chips! So good!! I was working my way to the kimchi but since the steamed rice was missing I placed it in the fridge till I make a batch of rice. All the food I ate was delicious. I absolutely enjoyed it! I didn't have a chance to take any photos of my food because I devoured it immediately. I'm sad they missed the rice in my order because a hot bowl of steamed rice would of complimented the meal perfectly. The employee who took my order over the phone was the same one who gave me my order. I thanked him for an efficient phone order and lunch run. I always order the Small Combo (6 wings, 3 drums) with half soy garlic and half spicy. Total usually comes out to be around $16 and it's definitely worth it! Comes with your choice of pickled radish or coleslaw, I get the radish. Also wouldn't hurt to get a side of rice too! Their chicken is juicy, tender, and always has a nice crunch. The soy garlic has a nice flavor profile, I don't taste the garlic but the flavor is still 11/10. The spicy is very good and will leave a slight tingling in your mouth, also 11/10. Pictured are the spicy and NEW Korean BBQ Sauce flavored ones. The new Korean bbq sauce flavor is subtle and great. They should add it to the menu permanently. I really enjoyed it. Upon recommendations from Kid, we decided to give it a try and ordered a delivery from this location. It arrived early and everything was still quite warm. That's nice. The wrap was sizable, like a mission burrito but shorter and thinner wrapper. The fried chicken inside went well with veggie and wrapping. The accompanied sauces (ranch and thousand island) add to the enjoyable. This one is a keeper. The chicken wings, soy sauce and garlic, was a bit over fried. There was a shell that became less crispy and more chewy. The frying grease became prominent when the chicken cooled a bit. I may have picked the wrong flavor, but this one was lack luster. The sides of rice was simply streamed, like all standard Asian way. That's fine. The pickled daikon, however, left an artificial aftertaste that make me what to keep drinking water to rinse it away. I was not really enjoying it. Korean chicken wing has really become trendy almost like boba teas. There are so many of them in the areas now. What is not to love about Korean fried chicken especially during quarantine?! KFC (the Asian kind here) - it's not the same as Western iterations because here it is all about the sauce. Juicy, meaty, and delicious: Bonchon here really delivers. My partner told me that he had never had KFC before so that had to change quick when we were in the South Bay grocery shopping. Yelp allows you to order through its app and wait times really ranged from 30-60 minutes after ordering, so consider doing it early if you're calling during a dinner rush. We ordered a Medium Combo ($28) with 20 pieces of wings - half spicy and soy garlic. Unlike other traditional KFC spots that use tons of gochujang in their recipes, their spicy take is more of a dry-rub I'd say. You won't find the searing thick red glaze that you'd expect but the wings still hold a kick. Their soy garlic were my favorite and were definitely easy to eat. The Zucchini Fries ($9) were great too but definitely over greasy. The brown paper bag that it came in was soaked in oil and leaked onto the top of our KFC box. They also aren't cut into spears and instead, shaved into ovals, so the pictures on the menu are deceiving. When you order online for pickup, even if your app says the order isn't ready, more than likely it's sitting out waiting for you already. They get very busy and may not keep up with updating online orders, so definitely check in after 30 minutes of placing the order to see if it's done. read more

Ordered the Family Meal which was enough for my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) with leftovers for the next day. I used their website for online ordering because their pricing is $5 cheaper than doing DoorDash. You can order ahead and set a pickup time. I would say that based on my pickup time, I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes, which I didn't mind since I went to ShareTea next door to get a drink to go. Oooooo so the most interesting on the menu here for me was the Korean tacos. I've never come across a Korean chicken store selling tacos before but this was extremely delicious! As greedy as I was, I nearly went for medium but remembered I had the tacos. Got the half soy garlic, half spicy (thought they were literally mixed but actually just plated separately!), but the batter for both is nearly the same. I have eaten Korean chicken where the spicy version usually has less batter. Nevertheless, Korean fried chicken is generally delicious with that crunch and this lives up to that! Also ordered a side of seasoned fries. Very niceeeee, it has that layer of light crispy batter and it was served HOT. Would come here again! The only thing I found a little miserable though was the restaurant itself - it was quite dark - wood and red, I felt it could have previously been a pizza place?? I wish I could give them five stars because I truly love their wings, but unfortunately we've had a couple of rough experiences with service. We frequent this Bonchon monthly, so obviously the service hasn't been that much of an issue because whenever we're craving wings, this is our go to spot. If you can, order ahead because it takes roughly 20 minutes for your food to be ready. We always get half soy garlic, and half spicy. If we're feeling a little more indulgent than usual, we will also get their seasoned fries. Wings are consistently hot and extra crispy. We've only had one experience with cold fries, and if you are able to eat there, it's definitely worth it because everything tastes so much better fresh. I'm not sure if they are still doing this, but for a while you could bring in your receipt from Bonchon and get 10% off at Sharetea next-door. read more

I used to live in DC, which was when I first was exposed to and fell in love with Bonchon. Since moving from that area, I hadn't had it in YEARS, so I was beyond ecstatic to find out that Bonchon was also on the west coast. I decided to come in and treat my self for lunch, and to my delight it was just as good as I remembered. I ordered a small combo with the spicy and the soy ginger with a order of the Parmesan fries. Let me tell you... the wings are still as flavorful and perfectly crispy as ever, and I'm happy to say that the fries held their own as well. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star experience was the location itself. For what you pay here and the quality of food, nothing inside this location matches, and it could really use a makeover. The dining area looks like it's seen better days and the men's room was even worse. I'll have to check out one of the other locations in the area to see about getting a better total dining experience and possibly becoming a regular again. read more

Surprisingly the bull dak wasn't spicy but the chicken was instead, but each were really good! All my friends and family would rave about this spot which was so close to home but I never thought I was a fried chicken kinda girl; I've only ever had boneless chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. We ordered the 12 piece boneless wings, half and half (soy garlic and sweet n spicy wings). We also got the seasoned fries. When we opened the box of chicken wings, we were pretty disappointed. They didn't look saucy at all and the soy garlic barely had any flavor. The spicy wings definitely had a kick to it, which I appreciated because I LOVE spice! The fries were good too, but a little soggy (probably because we ordered them on doordash). The fries were seasoned with garlic, Parmesan, and some parsley. I would want to try these again to see if the wings are more saucy at the restaurant, but overall this place wouldn't be my top choice if I'm craving wings. read more
