During the shelter-in-place, we have been doing all that we can to support local small businesses that we love. Bon chon was one of the businesses but after our last interaction with the manager, we are sad to say that we are no longer going to be eating at Bonchon anymore. We ordered the staples yesterday which included their fried chicken, fries and pork belly tacos. One of the tacos was missing the meat so we called and requested a refund. We were shocked by how poorly this was handled. The manager asked us "did you eat the other two tacos?" (Not sure what that has to do with the missing meat? ) and then stated that her cook does not make mistakes and there would be no refunds. She also stated that "we shouldn't get so mad". I don't believe that our request was out of hand nor do I believe we were particularly rude or angry. For us, it's not about the money but more the principle. We purchased a good from this business and they failed to fully deliver which warrants an apology at the very least. We didn't even get that! At the end of the day- we didn't want to continue to fight for a refund but have decided to just never eat here again. read more

I have been ordering from here at least once every 2 weeks but after tonight I will never go back! During covid-19 we started ordering to go but even when I would dine in there has been a problem every single time and the management doesn't seem to care at all! Tonight I ordered the medium combo of 10 drumsticks and 5 wings with extra sauce but when I got home and got the plates out to feed my family I saw that they only gave me 10 drumsticks with no sauce whatsoever! I called back and told them I was on my way back so they could fix it and they said next time I came in they would give me a medium combo on the house if I just kept the ones I had. The reason I go there is because I like the sauce and the crispiness of the chicken together, not one or the other! I brought back the chicken wings and they agreed to fix the 10 that they had given me and give me an extra eight wings but the extra ones where the tiniest pieces of drumsticks I've ever seen! I never got any of the wing portions that were part of my combo and the extra eight pieces made it a total of 18 when I ordered 15 so I only got three extra pieces and they were so small it wasn't even worth the drive back there! It's a MESS. We ordered a kimchi fried rice and a large chicken combo. The fried rice came out relatively fast. However, we were sitting at the table for an hour, noticing people who ordered later than we were getting their chickens first. My guess is that they have forgotten our order. They were claiming that we did not get the order because they were short one drumstick. Really? that's your excuse? You guys could not pull one drum stick from several to-go orders that went out before ours? After waiting for an hour and ten minutes, we left. While we were waiting, there was no update on the order, and they did not even fill our water cups. And yes, they charged for fried rice. Worst Bonchon I've tried so far. Food - Too greasy. They must have fried the chicken like hours ago and re-fry before serving. You can tell that by looking at the color of chicken. And chicken is way too big for fries. The result? You can barely taste the sauce, even when you ask for extra glazed. Price - Ridiculous pricing policy. I asked for extra glazed wings and side of coleslaw and raddish. They charged $1 for extra glaze (when it was not extra glazed at all, duh..) and $2.5? for coleslaw. I wasn't even told that there were extra charges nor have had no experience of being charged of these asks in other Bonchon restaurants. I find it pretty sketch. Hall - I understand this is a newly opened one, but I must say that this place is VERY unorganized, making you wait for unnecessary amount of time. Hope they had more servers in the hall. Really friendly service. Nice ambiance. Good for sit down or take away. Chicken is super crispy, like glass, and it's really flavorful. The sides are pretty good and helps cut down the fried food. The seasoned fries are nice too. Definitely a good place to bring a bunch of friends and pig out...or if you're feeling like feeding your gluttony and eating it all for yourself. Only downside is it's pricey. I guess that's a good thing otherwise I'd be eating Bonchon all the time. read more

The chicken wasn't bad, but the experience was horrible. First of all there was a huge line, and the kitchen and the servers were obviously overwhelmed, but that's no excuse. After waiting for a long time in the line I decided to just order one set of 10 wings (half spicy, half not) to go. It took over 40 minutes for that order to come out, making my total time there close to an hour for one order of small wings. When I got home, I was flabbergasted to find there were 3 spicy wings and 6 regular ones in the box. That's right, I waited an hour for a small combo, and they both messed up the proportions and shorted me a wing! This location really needs to get their act together. read more

Worst Bonchon ever. I have been to several Bonchon locations in Boston, Mountain view and Sunnyvale. The wings from this location were dry and the sauce was not enough at all. I have been to many Bon Chon locations elsewhere but these guys need to do some work. I understand they are newly opened and busy but my chicken wings were very greasy. I am a big chicken person but after like 7 or so, I couldn't eat anymore. Also sauce wasn't really blending in with the wings and tasted like eating unsauced wings. Most disappointed Korean fried chicken experience ever! We were seated right away today at around 11:45 am. Placed our order and waited 30 minutes and still no food. We started to noticed tables arrived later than us got their food already so we flagged down the waitress and have her checked on our order. She came back and told us the kitchen was working on it and should be out in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later our orders finally arrived. However, both wing combos are lukewarm. We asked the waitress and she said it is the way it is! We were shocked! We had other Korean fried chicken before and NEVER had lukewarm wings. How can the wings be lukewarm when they were supposed to be coming out from the hot fryer! Water was never refilled! They only give you one paper napkin per person and no wet wipes provided. We ordered the Family Meal which comes with one side. $41 for 12 wings and 6 drumsticks plus a "side" of coleslaw which was only 3/4 cup "for the family". We got half plain and half spicy. They are still in soft opening, so they are working out problematic service issues. We arrived for lunch at around 11:20am on a Sunday, before opening, and a line was already forming at the door. As soon as they opened, every table was filled. The three servers seemed overwhelmed by the full house. It was a bit off-putting to enter a restaurant with the strong smell of bathroom-cleaning chemicals hanging in the air, but after they got cooking, it smelled better. The chicken was tasty, and as crispy and flavorful as expected. However, after we waited for 20 minutes, the server came by to ask us what we had ordered, as he had lost our order and never put it in. After we ordered for a second time, the food didn't come for a long time. We saw many other tables get their food before us, including parties who were seated after us. After an hour, we flagged down a server and asked about our order. Finally, part of our order arrived. 2 dishes were missing, but we didn't care at that point. We just wanted to finish lunch and leave. They never refilled our water, either. We ended up taking most of the food home with us, since we had been there for too long. We might come back in a year, after they have had a chance to fix their serious service issues, but in the meantime, we'll get our Korean fried chicken fix elsewhere. read more

My wife and I were very excited to see a Bonchon restaurant open in the area. The food is on par with other Bonchons. The soy garlic chicken and kimchee bacon fried rice are our favorites. The only complaint I have was regarding my takeout order last week. The service and food were great but when I checked my credit card charges, Bonchon double charged me for the same amount. I called my credit card company to dispute the second charge and had to waste an hour of my time trying to get this fixed. If it wasn't for this issue I would have given them a higher rating. Tried to order via GrubHub and although order was confirmed (and them subsequently delayed...smstxt rec'd) when the driver arrived at the restuarant they indicated that they had never rec'd my order. This is going to be a bad review on the operation itself and not the food. Who the hell closes at 2:30 and doesn't reopen again until 4:30 especially on the weekends. With covid and limited hours, isn't it common sense to stay open, especially when your located close to the outlets. Other restaurants are struggling to stay open and you have the audacity to close for 2 hours. Other locations doesn't close and yet you do. Are you disinfecting the chicken in those 2 hours you are close? You can't dine in anyways. Everything is to go. Or did I just exposed your work around labor laws so you shut down for 2 hours so your same employee can't get overtime. Hopefully this will wake you up and get your act together. Went with the family during their soft opening week around 6PM and there was a line out the door for people picking up their to go order. Finally fought through the line and got seated. 10 minutes go by and no one stopped to give us menus or offer water until I could flag one of the servers down. It took 40 minutes to get our food and when it finally came the chicken was overcooked with barely any soy garlic sauce on it. Not even a nod from the server to acknowledge the wait. Just dropped the plate of chicken down and back into the kitchen they went - never to be heard from again until I asked for the bill. Hope they improve and train the staff on customer service because I've enjoyed other Bon Chon locations and really do love the fried chicken. read more

I would give a zero star if I could because my 3 year old daughter had to pee & they wouldn't let her go because I wasn't eating there I still took her & I was gonna buy a drink atleast when I got out the restroom & when I came out I had two of the lady's working there yelling & giving me attitude so instead of buying the drink I just left . Loved everything about this Bonchon location. I've been waiting for them to open and was kind of sad because I thought I wasn't going to be able to eat there today, but RJ made it happen. There was a long waitlist and they did close at 2:30pm, so it was my fault I got there 30 min prior to closing with a long waitlist. RJ did try his hardest to get us in and I want to thank him for getting us in before closing. My craving was definitely satisfied. What made it better was the great people who worked there. RJ, Chris and Jisoo was amazing. Great teamwork with great personalities. The food tasted great and same like all the other locations. Thanks guys! We were heading back home to LA after spending time with fam for the holidays and wanted to pick food up on the way. I ordered ahead and spent ~30 + tip on our dinner. We arrived a couple of minutes after receiving the ready text and the lady was still packing our order. While she was packing, I politely asked may we please have more napkins? (Anticipating our long journey and minimal stops) She said she put some in the bag. I explained that I saw but that wouldn't be enough and to please provide us with more. She still declined and I opened the bag and pulled out the few she provided and said this would not be enough. Finally she acquiesced and counted out 3 extra napkins to provide. As she handed them to me I did make the comment that it's a shame a predominantly finger food restaurant was so cheap on the napkins. The lady made it a point to lean over and aggressively mumble something about mental health to me. I neither understood nor wanted to continue this interaction so I left. This experience was very disappointing especially over something so nominal like napkins. Knowing that hours might be different on NYE, stopped by earlier in the day to ask, and was told they would close at 8pm. Came back at 7:30pm, only to find a closed sign. Stepped inside -- the door was open, and lots of people were waiting -- to see what was up. A server eventually said they had closed at 7pm. Letting her know I'd been told they were open until 8pm did no good. Bonchon in California is worse than the ones in NYC and NJ already. This location used to be ok but the quality just went downhill during the pandemic. We ordered chicken drumsticks and they were WAYYYYY over fried. The skin turned dark brown and meat inside shrink and dried like cardboard. Also the meat has no flavor and it seems they forgot to marinate the drumsticks at all. At this point, Popeyes chicken tastes better than the food from this location. read more

I have ordered 6 times from Bonchon (all delivery). At first, I loved it, but this last time I was shocked at how the quality had deteriorated. The portion size of the sides has decreased by at least a third. You now pay 3.25 for a tiny cup of coleslaw. The chicken pieces are getting smaller and smaller too, (where do they find these tiny chickens?) and tastes as if it has been sitting out for hours.
