Man where do I begin. We walked in Saturday afternoon around 12:15 and the place was basically empty and absolutely every table was dirty. The floor felt like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks ( Super Sicky ), not days. The next thing we noticed was NOT ONE employee had on any type of Hair Net or Hair Protection, yet they were running in and out of the kitchen area. One younglady ran her fingers through her hair then grabbed napkins to give to the other family that was there, she did throughout our visit. Our server Gabriel, when asked about some of the menu items was clueless to them, as well as clueless to what day it even was. He asked us what day it was. When the food came out it was subpar to say the least. We ordered the Chicken wings and Drums combo, Seasoned Fries, House Fried Rice and Korean Tacos. Chicken over cooked and hard. Fries served warm not hot. Rice was just ok. The best thing we got was the Tacos. The service was none existence. Our server never came and checked on us to see if everything was ok, we had to flag him done when someone else onened the kitchen doors where everyone was just hanging out, just to get a refill on our drinks. We went to the restrooms to wash up, and not to our surprise it was just as dirty as the tables in the dining area. Not only did we waste our money , but it was truly a waste of time. One star because theres not a negative star for this visit. read more

Been waiting for Bonchon to open in Houston. We had Bonchon in NY and hoped this location in Houston lived up to our standards and it definitely did! The wings were so crunchy and delicious. Each bite has a burst of flavor. Will definitely be coming back! read more

These wings are the best in town! Never been to the NY location but these wings exceeded my expectations! The bibimbap was very mediocre, expensive, and didn't even have an egg. But that's not what this place is known for anyways. I give this place 3 stars because the service was crap. Wait was long and when we finally sat down, we had to ask for our waiter multiple times. Maybe because they just opened recently and its chaotic and the training is not finished. 5 stars review for the wings. 1 star on the service. If I come back here, I will update my review based off the service. read more

Read a lot of mixed reviews and wanted to try since there are not a lot of loan chicken places around. The food was pretty good. Ordered the chicken strips half spicy half not. It was very good the chicken was not over cooked and very tender and the sauces were pretty tasty. Also ordered the salmon avacado ball. It was decent. Couldn't quite tell what it needed to make it great but it wasn't bad either. My one gripe would be the wait. It seemed like awhile before the food came out and seemed like that for everyone. Other than that service was good and food was pretty good read more

As we were seated, my booth still had crumbs so I had to get back up and wipe the seat and my pants before sitting back down. We first ordered Japchae $13.95 and Udon Noodle Soup $8.95. The Japchae was slightly on the salty side and was not the best I've tried. The Udon Noodle Soup was extremely bland. I had to mix the two orders to balance out the flavors. You could go buy store bought instant noodles and be more satisfied eating at home. Service was slow for it not being busy. Our waitress asked us how we were doing once we had finished our food. I was really hoping she would come sooner because I was trying to place an order to go and have it ready by the time we were done eating. We finally ordered the Medium Combo of 10 wings & 5 drums with half spicy and half soy garlic for $22.95. Keep in mind that they do not mix both flavors together. When we received our Take-Out, I tried one wing of each flavor. THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO COME FOR, NOTHING MORE! I suggest for everyone to order the chicken TO-GO if you want your money's worth, not have to worry about slow service, and crumby seats. The rest of the 8 wings and 5 drums were given to 3 other females, who also gave the chicken 10/10 rating. They said the wings and drums were filling and they preferred the spicy over soy garlic! read more

Welcome Bonchon to Houston! The chicken and beer is what you should come for everything else is okay. The bimipap, the rice was over cooked. The spicy chicken and garlic soy was on spot. The owner was very attentive and nice. read more

Went to Bon Chon at 9:20 pm on the recommendation of a friend who happened to stop by on his way home from work. I live over 30 minutes from Bon Chon. Let me just say, the drive and the time spent was more than worth it. The Soy Garlic and Spicy Korean Fried Chicken is some of the best I've ever had. I would've posted photos, but the to go order never made it out of the car! INCREDIBLE!!! read more

Both times I've came it was packed but for good reason, it's awesome! I've had the popcorn chicken which is great and the spicy tacos! The tacos are pretty spicy for me but I would recommend ! It also has a full bar and a couple of local beers which is a plus ! read more

Incredibly terrible customer service and food. When I requested 2 flavors on the wing special. The server said they cannot do 2 flavors. I asked for the manager and he told us that it was impossible and against corporate policy. Get real folks, these are wings! They failed to take our full order and left us without one of our dishes. The food we got was fried rice. The rice was seriously undercooked, no flavor, and swimming in oil. The table next to us asked for a small rice, and again the answer was that they don't do that. The customer was only asking for a small rice!!! There are 8000+ restaurants in the area, I will certainly take my business elsewhere. This business fails Restaurant 101..Customer Service and Food Qualit. It's sad that they do not realize that 1 unhappy customer translates to a lot of lost revenue. The manager just shrugged me off and did nothing to resolve the issue. My recommendation is Do Not Eat here, they do not care about you as a customer! read more

Food is good. Restaurant is ran horribly. The service is terrible and their poor attempt at catering to a younger demographic fails.

This chicken was sooooo goood. The spicy was extremely spicy but the soy garlic was the tables favorite. Besides the chicken the chicken fried rice was amazing. It had this pineapple taste that was so delicious. Great meal and great price. read more

Loved the Chicken Katsu! The portions were very large and the sauce was delicious. I will definitely be coming back .

We've been here many times before for both dine-in and pick-up but today was a disaster! We came in for dine-in and stood at the door for awhile without seeing anyone coming up to seat us like the sign said. Finally we were seated by the manager, probably because they were short staffed. He then "tried" to take our drink order (he said he hadn't done this before) and we asked for 2 iced waters and an unsweetened iced tea (fairly simple). He came back with 2 waters and a SWEET tea. We decided to let it go since they were short staffed. He then "tried" to take our order and put it in. We waited for over 30 minutes with no update from him or anyone else. Meanwhile, more customers are coming in, seating themselves because there's no one there to greet them. The manager and the other waitstaff are clearly disorganized and have no sense of urgency. Everyone is at their table waiting for menus and food is randomly coming out (many tables who arrived after us got their food already), people who've eaten are waiting for their checks etc. It was basically difficult to watch and for the first time ever, we left the restaurant unnoticed. There was at least one other table who did the same thing as us. We will never return again. read more

The food was very tasty and fresh. When they say spicy, they mean spicy. My husband and son had Bull Dak (Spicy chicken stir-fried with rice cakes in a fiery sauce, topped with thinly sliced scallions, onions and mozzarella cheese. Served with white rice and steamed vegetables) It was alot of food and could most likely be split between 2 people. I thought I was getting drumlets of the wing when I ordered and I ended up with 5 HUGE drumsticks. The soy garlic was a nice flavor. The pickled radish was great! The Seasoned Fries tossed with house seasoning and parmesan cheese & topped with parsley flakes were really good. Service was excellent. My son said he was going back soon! The portions are too large for my husband and I, so beware. read more

I've been craving for some real Korean fried chicken ever since I visited Korea. The closest thing we had was Dak n Bop and Hoodadak. But I'm so glad we have a new Korean fried chicken joint! Can't have enough of those. I'm so happy to say that I don't have to drive all the way downtown to get some good chicken! The pieces here were huge and cooked perfectly! Extremely crispy, ungreasy, and very flavorful. I don't like my chicken soggy with too much sauce. I would have to say the size of each piece was almost double of what I normally get at most chicken places. The only other place in Katy with Korean fried chicken was Hoodadak, and that's the only choice I had until Bonchon opened up! The chicken here is much better and taste closer to what I had in Korea. read more

Really like Bonchon. They have great lunch specials. Dolsot bimbimbap, the hot stone rice bowls, are good and loaded with toppings. The chicken is good for fried chicken but not double fried like korean fried chicken should be. The salmon avocado bomb is delicious. read more

Saw the sign from i10 and decided to try it out. Having obviously recently opened, I expecting the usual growing pains. However, service was friendly, and food was ready within five minutes of ordering. Fried chicken was crispier than anything I've had before, and sauces are a good Asian twist to your typical wing joint. Seasoned fries were different and, again, fried to perfection. I will be back and would highly recommend for anyone else to try it out. read more

The food was great. The services is ok. It is a bit slow. Me and my gf had to wait almost 30 mins just to order. I was a little turned off by this. Now, the chicken is great! The soy garlic is on point! And the spicy is pretty awesome. I would recommend getting the split dish. Try them both! read more

The star of our evening was David, the waiter. He was, as my grandpapa would say, a "hoot". Better yet? He understood that we knew our Korean food and didn't try to sell us up on anything. He was attentive and a good server (especially one in Katy). So I'm struggling with a 3 or a 4 on my rating - something I rarely do. I settled on a 3 because: 1. WINGS - While hot, fresh, crispy and delicious there are two flavors - TOO SWEET and TOO SPICY. The SWEET is supposed to be soy garlic but even as a garlic lover I was hard pressed to find any garlic flavor in it. The sugar needs to be cut by at least half - or more. The SPICY - well, I eat Korean food and this stuff was S.P.I.C.Y -- almost like someone had messed up that recipe. The guy on a date at the table next to us confided that the ONLY way he'd finished his spicy (and he's creole, ya'll) wings was to not appear weak to his beautiful companion. We thought he was exaggerating but, nope, he was a speaker of truth. And I LIKE Korean food. 2. FRIES - We had the plain fries and while not the best we've ever had, they are worth ordering. 3. SERVICE - Given the fact that the hostess kept us standing at the front door while she was on the phone until I walked over to a table (yep, it was that long), I didn't have high expectations. David more than made up for that. Our dating neighbors were favorably impressed by the kimchi and the bimibap. I noticed, as did other reviewers, that fewer people were ordering the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and more were ordering other menu options. As a lover of bulgogi, I'll probably take another shot at Bonchon's in the future but for now we'll stick with Hoodadak. Btw, the "legs" are FULL SIZED LEGS which makes Bonchon a winner, hands down, in a price war for KFC. Unfortunately, that's not enough to overcome the overwhelmingly poor flavors in the chicken itself. read more

Came here not expecting much because of the bad reviews, but was very surprised. My boyfriend got the small wings and I got the small strips and they were all huge. I saw complaints on Yelp about how the sizes were different, but each piece was about the same. I ended up taking home half of the strips because it was so much. In terms of flavor, the chicken was great! There's no charge for getting half garlic and half spicy. The spicy was actually kind of spicy. We also got the regular fries because we didn't want to to pay for just parsley and parmesan. I wish they had kimchi fries. Nothing too special about their regular fries. The fries were a good portion for two people if you're both getting an order of chicken. Service was good. It wasn't too busy Sunday afternoon. Will come back to try their other menu items. (: read more

This is the place to go if you want amazing fried chicken, if you want great fried chicken and amazing menu item check out bon chons.

My first visit. The atmosphere and environment was great! I had the chicken, it was wonderful. The customer service is outstanding!!

Freaking nightmare!!!!! Waited 45 mins for my togo order then they told me to wait another 15 mins because they messed up the order??? One hour wait... I could drive to Hmart at Beltway 8 and get some delicious Korean BBQ. Oh and on top of that the young lady up front didn't even know their own menu. Well, at least she was so cluess that she didn't ask me to pay. Going to Freddy's instead. Only coming here because I really liked the original Bonchon in NYC. Did not care about the one in Dallas. Same horrible customer service. No wonder they're closed. read more

I moved from East coast and had quite high expectation of this chain and was looking forward to this opening. Let's start with the positive... Place is clean, our waitress is fairly friendly and the soy garlic and spicy taste of the chicken was spot on. However, for some reason the batter was not quite the same, the wings missed the signature puffed up, crunchy and crispy batter. The presentation of the wings appeared very small as the result where as the drumstick is oversized in comparison. And it is quite pricy in general. E.g. $6 for a small bowl of edamame! Overall, I still like the place and will come back. But I would really look forward to the owner to stay more consistent with the franchise recipe. read more

Loved the whole experience I had here! The presentation was awesome and the food was amazing. If you are a fan of Wings you will fall I love with this place. And they have other entrees that are different for the area. My new favorite spot! read more

Tried Bonchon 2 weeks ago and I couldn't stop thinking about it so we went again this morning! The wings were very crispy and tasy, very delish! We tried the fries last time and it was okay, nothing really special. We tried the salmon avocado ball and potstickers this morning. Potstickers were okay but the salmon avocado ball was the bomb! But I will always come back here for the wings. And don't forget to order some steamed rice! read more

I really love this place!!! Good good food. And the service there is really nice. Great ppl

Great customer service, great food, owner walked around checking in on all customers and interacted with everyone. Absolutely no complaints at all. read more

Have since been back and food was better. Service was good. Everything came on time. Wasn't a wow, but it was decent. not near as bad as first time going. Manager offered me discount for my original experience, but i refused. read more

Came here with my family last week on Monday. There was no one else dinning in but there were a few customers there to pick up to-go orders. While the food was OK at best, the restaurant smelled like over burned oil. But what bothered me the most was how dirty the bathroom was, especially when no other customers where there! And a few minutes after our food came out flies started flying around and landing on it. Will not be returning! read more

Bonchon Katy all the way! The food was great but the service is phenomenal. Came in and automatically was greeted immediately. I sat up at the bar and Ysabel the bartender at the time whos now manager made me feel at home. The whole bar was talkative and laughing, i had a great time. Ive became a regular here. More people need to check this place out, you wont regret it! read more

Great service, great people, great beer! I always come here to drink on my off days and I'm never disappointed. The bartenders treat you well and give the best recommendations. I love that they have Crawford bock too. Even the managers, ysabel and Carlos, come around and conversate and add to the experience. Dany and Dom are also great servers. Definitely recommend 10/10 read more

Bon Chon? More like Non Chon. Honestly, I've never had a drier, more tasteless piece of chicken. We ordered some regular and some spicy "tenders" which were anything but. They were what amounted to quarter inch thick oblongated ovals of chicken jerky. We also got an order of what appeared to be some chicken breast meat sliced then coated in an odd sweet/sour type sauce served atop over cooked rice, surrounded by greenish-yellow clumps of broccoli and carrot sticks. All of this, including two SMALL sides of kim chee, and another, unidentifiable container of foul smelling white chunks, was close to $60! Thanks, but non thanks. I won't be returning. read more

Super nice staff. Walked in on a whim and placed an order and had was offered a drink while I waited. Chatted with the staff about something other than their business until my order was ready. read more

the restaurant environment and employees were great but to be honest the fried chicken was not. we ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 garlic soy and spicy chicken and they were very dry on the outside(though a glass of cold beer made it much better). i wouldn't say that it's the worst we've had nor was it terrible but there are cheaper places that offer more and have better chicken that can be eaten alone... read more

This place is outstanding...I would even say it's better than Kyochon Chicken. The food is fresh and the staff is always friendly. Keep up the great work!!! read more

Overpriced Korean food. On a positive, the bulgolgi and chap jae (possibly misspelled) was good, but for the portion size, overpriced.

This restaurant is AMAZING!! From the environment to the food to the service...everything was awesome! I had the Korean Tacos along with the seasoned fries and it was delicious! The food is so good and the prices are not bad at all! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Great relaxed place with an outstanding supporting staff that's friendly and inviting. Food is great and if you like spicy come and try their spicy chicken it will have you surprised read more

Most of the food is great. The fried chicken is the best. The wrap is tasty, but too small. The bibimbab is okay, needs to come out in a hotter bowl (I'm used to sizzling). The reason for low stars is the service. Everything and everybody moves slow. This place would be great if the team was more coordinated and moved with a purpose. Please get it together. I don't want to come back and waste an extra pure 40 minutes waiting on food and check for a weekday lunch. read more
