If even that horrible food potsticks drenched in soy sauce, fried chick was plain Jane! Fries to darn krispy. Our fried rice came out after we were done eating 3 out of 6 chicken wing. . Miso soup to salty counldnt finish it sent it back. The waiter was great. Kinda pricey as well read more

I met the owner on the first time-- ordered takeout. He promised these wings would change our life and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! You have to try it to believe it! The soy garlic sauce is heavenly!! The Salmon avocado ball is even great the next day! It's absolutely incredible. Husband even tried the Japchae-- loves it. Even the darn Cole slaw was good! Problem is... we'll be coming back nearly every week. This is not a place to skip over! Great service, great food!!! read more

I tried this place this weekend and tried their chicken house fried rice. I thought it was pretty good. The portion was fairly big too. There were some other items on the menu which I wanted to try as well but I couldn't. I will definitely come back. My server, her name was Jazz, was super nice. read more

So we've been here twice so far. The food is decent. Sometimes I feel like the breading makes up half of the actual chicken piece. If you're getting wings, drumsticks come out just lukewarm and the wings are hot. Kind of strange. The worst part about this place is the service. The first time we went, we just had an issue with refills on our drinks. We literally had to ask for refills. Second time the waiter forgot to bring us our drinks. We had to ask him to bring them. When the drinks finally came, he had brought the wrong ones. Overall, I feel like this place is best as a to-go restaurant. read more

My niece recommended this place because she has been here several times and loves the food. I was pleasantly surprised with my visit. I ordered the wings and they were great. The spicy wings had an intense amount of heat to them that was simply mouth watering and kept me going back for more. The soy garlic wings were mighty tasty too. I then indulged in the chicken katsu and it was superb. The chicken was cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. The sauce was fantastic and thrilled my taste buds. To top off the experience, our service was excellent. I will definitely return if I am in the area ..... and I am for sure looking forward to the opening of the location on my side of town read more

We've visited twice, the food is good! Especially the wings. But the second visit, the tables were dirty, we had to clean the table with towels from the restroom. And the floor looks like it's never been mopped. read more

First time going to bonchon end it was great. We started the bulgogi sliders which could have been a meal by itself. I had the bull dak, chicken and rice cakes cooked in a spicy sauce. And my wife had the salmon avocado ball. It was an appetizer but it filled her up all the same. We usually share a bite, but she said it was so good she finished it before I could even ask for a taste. We will definitely be going back. read more

Fried chicken is one of the best Korean fried chicken in Houston, atmosphere is great and staff are very friendly from my experience.

Do yourself a favor and refrain from getting the fried rice. It does not taste good at all and is a complete waste of a meal. I thought maybe my taste was off, so i got a second opinion, but alas it was just as terrible to them as it was to me. I'm mad i wasted my money tbh. read more

I heard mixed reviews on this place on yelp but decided to try it anyways. It was well worth the visit. We ordered the large mix of wings and drumsticks and half and half soy garlic and spicy. The chicken was absolutely on point. Crispy sweet and spicy. Well cooked. Wow. We also ordered the chicken fried rice . Also absolutely delicious. We also ordered the pork belly buns. Wow totally georgous. The only negative was that the pork buns came at the end of our meal but we still ate two of them. There was no wait and the food except for the buns came very quickly. I would definitely be back and I woukd certainly recommend this place. Seems like they worked out their teething issues. Lovely. Totally georgous. read more

I have faith in good food, but this faith gets can get trumped by bad service. The fried chicken is crunchy and flavorful and the TTEOKBOKKI is spicy and filling. Don't forget to keep the kimchi coming. Follow those foods with shots of soju and you'll be grateful for the food. The pros are the good food, but the cons are the bad service and long waiting time. We waited 30 minutes to be seated and the restaurant wasn't even full. It felt like another Seinfeld episode. Once we were seated, our waiter was forgetful of our orders and we had to wait another 30 minutes to eat. We can all understand that this restaurant is brand new and trying to employ more people to make this great chicken and Korean food. read more

Came here with my siblings on New Year's Eve. Being a holiday the place was not very packed and you could tell. We arrived about an hour and a half to 2 hours before closing but everyone there was just about ready to leave. The hostess was busy on her phone talking to her boyfriend I'm assuming who was sitting at the chairs near the door. The waiter was running back and forth from the kitchen to the other 3 tables like crazy trying to meet everyone's needs as well as clean tables for closing. The level of unprofessionalism was appalling. We had to ask multiple times for straws for our drinks, refills, and when i asked for utensils they came back with 1 fork. How are we (a table of 3) suppose to share 1 fork? I used to love going here but I'm not sure what happened that night. I'm very reluctant to visit this place again knowing there's a chance i would be waited on by unprofessional high school kids. read more

Tried because we were told it was good. Have to say we enjoyed what we had. Small establishment and can tell that staff is still learning, but will give them benefit. Want to try the fried chicken, looked really good. read more

Terrible. Food was not good. Waiter was NOT attentive AT ALL. We kept looking around for her for service and she was nowhere to be found. The music was bomb but that's not the reason I came there for. Would not go back to this location. Expensive and flavorless. read more

NOTE: I did not take price, service, or atmosphere into consideration of my rating of this place. I'm going to be strictly reviewing this place based on its food. That being said... Appetizer: I ordered the salmon avacado ball and the popcorn chicken. The salmon ball was fine, but nothing more than average. The flavors in the dish were comparable to that of a shaggy dog roll. The ball consisted of a piece of salmon, with avacado, cucumber, and crab meat tucked underneath. The entire dish was garnished with unagi sauce, spicy mayo, and salmon roe. I feel that nothing was particularly special with the entire dish. As for the popcorn chicken, I can only describe it as subpar. The chicken was mainly dry, and the breading was either burned or fine. I strictly remember leaving a fourth of the dish uneaten, mainly because there was no chicken in the nuggets. The nuggets were sweet (possibly due to the honey/molasses marinade). In my opinion, it appears that they took whatever scraps they didn't use and just battered, fried, and served. Entrée: For the main course, we ordered small orders of wings, strips, and drumsticks (half and half). The common problem that I had with all three of these was that the outside was burned. The sauce they add is where about 95% of the flavor is. It does a pretty good job of masking the burned areas of the chicken. The wings were nothing special. Other reviews have complained about the size of the wings being too small, but to me, they were the right size. The drumsticks, however, we're freakishly large. The drumstick's meat was between the lines of perfectly cooked to overcooked. I can't really classify the strips as strips, because appearance-wise, they looked like giant nuggets. The meat on the inside tasted like chicken breast, which is a more economical approach to chicken strips. If they wanted to take it to another level, they should have used thigh meat, as it is fatter (and when cooked, juicier) than breast meat. Overall, I would give this place an average rating for an average meal. read more

I just had dinner with my family 2 weeks ago and I wanted to say and update my previous review that I am Amazed and happy about their improvements ! Food comes out very fast and flavor remains fantastic ! Service was 100% ! I love this restaurant ! read more

Typically I don't leave bad reviews, but felt extremely compelled to after this experience. I used to come to this location fairly often, however I hadn't been in a while. Went last night and don't think I will be going back again. Service was awful. Aside from the terrible service (no napkins, no refills, didn't check on us) the bartender was vaping while working the bar and was basically acting like he was not at work. I understand how it is in the service industry and wanting to relax a bit when things are slow, but his behavior made me not even want to stay at the restaurant, from the way he spoke to his coworkers and racially related inappropriate language. The quality of food has also declined drastically from the last time I had been to this location. While we were there the workers began to close an hour early, I suppose due to the fact that they were not having a very busy night. However, someone came in to place a to go order and one of the host went to the back to ask someone to take his order and we could all hear the employees complaining that they didn't want to take his order and arguing over who is gonna go do it. Was definitely not worth the stop, and do not plan to return. read more

I see some others describing negative experiences on occasion but I thought I'd give some praise based on my experience. The food is excellent. And it's probably the only place in Katy where you can find these kinds of entrees right now. We had the Bulgogi Korean tacos and Pork Buns with the seasoned zuchinni fries. If you like just a dash of spice with a ton of flavor then this is it. The server was solid too: we got drink refills on time and they kept up with checking on the table. Not normally on this side of town but would love to make it back here soon. read more

We've been to Bonchon in Katy 3 times and have been very pleased every time. The chicken is very high quality and everything is fresh and unique. I had the Korean beef tacos this time, super yummy. Can't go wrong with the original sesame garlic bonchon chicken but unless you are a hard core chili head, be warned that the spicy chicken is indeed VERY hot! Even the seasoned fries are super good and unlike any restaurants around. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu and there is a lot to choose from! Need one in Cypress! And yes, another chicken restaurant would work because Bonchon is head and shoulders above all the others! read more

Very good wings, I would say it was a tad bit better than the other joint in Katy. I will definitely come back again! Very pleased! My office staff loves the chicken. read more

The service was outstanding and the food was delicious! Jaleel was our server and I have to say that if I owned my own company, I would want him on my team. He was so helpful and honest when we had questions and just seemed like a genuine person. My friend and I tried the wing/drum combo (small) and it was perfect for two people. The seasoned fries were delicious. Great overall experience! read more

Excellent chicken wings with the soy garlic sauce and chicken fried rice! We also tried the fried shrimp shumai which was pretty good but not something I would go for again unless we tried it steamed. A definitely must try and will be going back! read more

I am lowering my review of Bonchon because they have majorly increased the prices on DoorDash. They already aren't cheap and now they are just way overpriced. Small order of wings went from 13.95 to 16.95 and seasoned fries from 7.95 to 9.50. I have ordered from them over 10 times since they were on DoorDash and I will no longer. Luckily Hoodadak delivers as well and is pretty decent. read more

I am a fan. I've had their signature fried chicken at parties and togo for home dinner. It's a breath of fresh air compared to your "typical" fried chicken places. I liked that the regular chicken flavor carries a little punch (spice). Paired with their pickled radish and white rice, it surely is a treat. Looking forward to more locations around Houston. read more

I ordered Bonchon's version buldak and it was absolutely disgusting. First and foremost, there should only be the chicken, scallion, and rice cake. For some reason they decided to throw all of the steamed vegetables in the overly greasy sauce. The whole thing was swimming in this sauce, and it was inedible. Why on earth would there be a whole carrot stick in this dish, let alone five of them? There were only a couple of rice cakes, and i took one bite gave up. I'm also ordered the kimchi pancake which was slightly better, but not by much. They have a lot of work to do here. If you want to get decent Korean wings or just decent Korean food period, venture out into Korean town, go to Super H Mart, and you will have your Korean food fix met. Don't go here until they get it together. read more

Great food and even better service thanks to Ethan who gave us great recommendations.

I've only eaten BonChon Katy's fried chicken twice but that was enough for me to LOVE it. They're crispy, tasty, and taste even better a side of their pickled radishes. I also love that the restaurant is clean, modern and trendy, making it a great casual place to hang out with friends and family. They also have a bar, which is great because so many people love having beer and wings together. In addition to their Korean fried chicken, they have other Korean dishes that I can't wait to try! Lastly, their staff is really welcoming, friendly, and quick to serve. If you haven't been to BonChon Katy, I'd give them a shot! read more

Delicious tonight!!! Loved the extra sauce, worth the extra 90 cents. Portions are huge. Probably ordered too much but it was all good.

Been to this location several times and ordered to go but they don't make the wings crispy like they are supposed to they cook them like regular chicken wings and if I wanted that I wouldn't drive 25 mins to get them. I have ordered to go twice and both times they taste like regular chicken wings not cooked the way bonchon wings are supposed to be. read more

Still doesn't beat the bon chon I had in NYC but close to it. Bon chon in NYC had the beeeeeest watermelon soju and wings!!! Drooling thinking about it! However, I love the soy garlic wings or drums here. Drums are huge! I usually eat about 4-6 wings and get full and 2 drums did it for me, especially if you are ordering other side dishes. We tried the calamari, which was just ok nothing extraordinary (doesn't beat Maggianos calamari or anything) but not bad, the fries are Delish and well seasoned but kinda pricey if you ask me... $3.95 would have been more appropriate or maybe even $4.95, but $6.95 just not worth it to me. However, my son really wanted fries so I got it for him. Service wasn't bad, nothing over the top but definitely not bad like some of the other reviews. Will definitely return! Wish there was a location closer to cypress area as I would visit more often! As for my waistline probably better to keep it away haha read more

See all

The food here is Amazing!! It's a bit pricey but well worth it. I love the fried rice and the season fries. Of course the chicken is great!

Food is always HOT with great taste. Ethan was our server and was awesome and a polite young man. Great way to spend watching Yankees/Astros game with all of their 5 TVs. Service is great, you can see the teamwork among all serves helping at all tables. It's NOT too cold, temperature is just right Highly recommend the Bulldak, spicy & savory!!! Why NOT 5 stars??? Because I haven't tried everything on their menu read more
