Whoever worked on 04/15 closing needs to work on customer service. Came in to order an iced green tea, around 5min before closing. Assumed it was still good, since the door was open and two people were at the table. When I got to the register the girl sighed heavily and said that they're closing. I was confused since there was still a few min, and I told her I was just looking for green tea. She sighed and said fine. I asked her if it was truly fine and she said no cause she was cleaning. I decided okay let me not trouble her so I left. I went over to the neighboring place to meet up with my group in the parking lot. Then in the background to Bon Appetea I saw one person go in and get a drink. Then another couple went in to get a drink. So I'm just confused--are you allowing only some people to order before the closing time? At least be fair. Was she just discriminating me? I don't know. Very unfortunate. Wouldn't recommend this place at all for studying, meeting, or even just picking up a drink. You're going to be met with unfriendliness. I like to give places second chances so I'll try to go again. I came here a couple of times specifically to do some homework, and have my dinner while I'm here. I tried a few of their dishes and they were all pretty tasty. The Taiwanese sausage and rice is my favorite dish. I think it's better than Simbala tbh. I'll definitely come back here to chill with some friends, but probably not to doing any homework. I think this spot has some of the best popcorn chicken in the 626! I ordered a jasmine milk tea half sugar with lychee jelly and a munchie's combo because I couldn't decide between popcorn chicken and tempura. The lychee jelly taste was kind of overpowering, and it seems like they changed the tempura because it's a lot smaller and not chewy anymore. I miss the old tempura. Bon Appetea Cafe seems like a Taiwanese style fast food restaurant based on their menu items and clientele. We got the curry chicken and pork chop rice. The prices are moderate and the portion size relatively small. If you are super hungry, then you will need to order two items or get some side dishes. They have a decent selection to choose from. There were a lot of young people studying in here on our visit. They do have plugs, but no one was using them even for the computers, even through it seems like the young people wet hanging out here for a long time. The food quality was decent, not bad, not super good. The servers were neutral to aloof. The strip mall they are in does not have the feel of a super safe neighborhood even if it is. So just be on the alert if you visit here. The parking lot is decent sized and does not seem to ever get super full, so you should be able to find a spot. Overall, if you are just in the mood for this kind of food, do not want to pay too much, and are not that hungry or willing to pay for multiple items, then this is a good place to try. read more

Came here on a Friday afternoon with a friend to work with. It was moderately busy starting from noon. Bon Appetea is in a big plaza and you do not have to worry about parking. The inside of the store front is pretty small with about 9-10 tables to sit at. There's also an outside patio with a couple of tables as well which is cozy to do work at or sit. I really enjoyed the interior of the store and the seating. The staff was generous and helped me order a nice lunch combo to start my day. The green milk tea was decent, nothing special as it's pretty standard at almost all bubble tea establishments. Hainan Chicken - I usually get hainan chicken from restaurants known for it but I decided to get this dish at a boba spot... and it exceeded my expectations. They de-boned the chicken so well and the chicken was so tender. The rice was mediocre but that's okay, as the sauces made up for it. The ginger sauce and spicy sauce was great. I ended up mixing them together and pouring it with the soy sauce on the chicken and it was such a great lunch. The portion of the chicken was fantastic as well. The only thing I have to comment about was the make time, it took about 20 minutes for them to make it but I was working here anyways so it didn't matter much. The price is excellent and both items are descent. Like most this kind of food establishment, Bon Appetea has a very young staff, the service is never "great" but rarely awful. It's a cute and clean little cafe. I've seen people coming here to work and it offers wifi for the customers. I actually like the Chinese pop songs they play here over some of the American places because it's melodic and beautiful. Unlike a coffee shop, they don't have super noisy blenders wreak havoc in the background. I've been coming to this location (not store) for over 2 decades, it's always been some sort of boba shop (since the OG Tap Ex days in early 2000s). The drinks are okay, nothing stands out. The side dishes/snacks are still good. Still tastes the same as Tap Ex days in 2000. I ASSUME it's the same owner(s), just now shop name every so often. But I can be completely wrong. I got a yogurt green tea, and popcorn chicken (my gf got a Boba drink too, and tempura). All normal sizes, came out to $31-32! Two drinks and 2 snacks for a price of a two meals! Crazy how the times have changed. My yogurt green tea was not sweet, as if I asked for 15/20% sugar. Within 30-40 minutes, I did not enjoy it since the ice melted and brought down the sweetness level to almost nothing. My gf ordered a drink, she asked for 100% sugar when asked (I wasn't asked level I wanted my yogurt green tea). Her drink also came out less sweet, 20% max, watered down very fast. I suggest you ask for extra, extra sugar, maybe 200% because their drinks aren't sweet as how Boba drinks should be, at the very minimum. The popcorn chicken was good, but I feel they skimped out on quantity. The cost for this was $8.19 + tax, so ~$9. The bag was LESS than half full. I don't mind paying more, since that's what inflation is, but the quantity of food should still be a bit more at the very least. It's never a good thing when you leave feeling you got ripped off. The tempura, same, less than half a bag for $6.88 + tax, just under $8 with tax. The quantity for the "munchies" here isn't worth it. I probably won't ve coming back anytime soon, unless for some reason this is the only choice I have due to convenience, etc. read more

When I arrived they gave away my order to someone else, and told me they would have to redo it, and said it will take a while, and to sit down. I can't say I looked thrilled (but didn't complain) so the other worker told me "You can always cancel your order and get something elsewhere". WOW.... Insult to injury, especially when they admitted fault to giving my order away. But wish I knew that so I didn't have to drive 10min away to then come 10min back and have my food no longer hot and fresh. Quite a bummer with the bad service as the food is pretty good. Given so many other great food places around, I think I'll be going to other places from now on. This small boba shop is located in the same plaza as 626 Ice Cream and 99 cent store. Parking was pretty full when we came at 12pm on a Saturday but that may be due to 99 cent stores closing down so they had a big sale. Inside was pretty empty so it was easy to find a seat to study! They have about 5 tables to sit at. I was able to find an outlet at 2 of the tables and there's wifi. Order: Everything we got was pretty good and they came out hot! You can adjust the spicy level for munchies. We did mild and we were still able to taste a hint of spice on the calamari, sweet potato fries, and fried chicken! Good flavors. The malay chicken rice was tasty too. Not dry at all with a good sauce. Workers were friendly and helpful too. It seems like a very Taiwanese vibe tea shop. The savory menu seems pretty extensive with a lot of snacks and entrees options. I ordered a passion fruit yakult drink with 50% sugar and less ice. This place is pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon, but the place only has a few tables indoors and some outdoors but since it's summer outdoors is too hot. Ordered a lychee slush and sweet potato fries mild. Food and drinks came out pretty fast. Lychee slush was good .. got it at 100% sweet so when it's melted you can still taste the flavor. Sweet potato fries first few bites were ok, but then mouth started burning.. it's too spicy! Didn't realize that mild can be super spicy.. next time have to be sure to ask for non spicy. However, I do prefer the other places that have sweet potato fries with the plum flavoring better. Friend went to the restroom but there was no toilet paper so asked the staff and the staff ended up putting napkins in there.. why would you run out of toilet paper?? The order took like 8-10 minutes to complete. The corn (creamed corn?) was whatever and veggies were cold. The chicken was flavorful and tasted great with the cold veggies. After dining at 1919 Lanzhou Beef Noodle restaurant, I thought we get some boba drink action at Bon Appetea Cafe which happens to be located in the same plaza as 1919. It was almost near closing time, but there were still some customers hanging out at the cafe. My daughters and I ordered our usual... Lavender Milk Tea with agar boba and egg pudding (lacked lavender flavor and sweetness), Honey Milk Tea with big boba (decent), and Lychee Green Tea with lychee jelly (no flavor whatsoever... just tasteless)... all with 100% sweetness and no ice. These weren't the worst boba drinks we've had, but they rank #2 for sure. Cup was of good size and it had a cute owl on it... not sure what is the significance of the owl though. Ambiance is very bright with good amount of seating inside and outside. Love the pink neon sign! Staff was quiet... we didn't get a big welcome or hello really... they just stood there and waited for us to order. They probably suspected we are not from the area and we will never return... just kidding LOL. Service was quick... didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. Drink menu had a good selection from milk teas to fruit teas to smoothies or yogurt. They also serve snack foods and bento-like boxes. Will we be back? Maybe just to try their smoothie or yogurt drinks and snack foods... we'll see how we feel the next time we eat at 1919.
