Was very excited to see a dumpling spot open at The Block. Went on the opening week and it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. As far as the dumpling itself, i ordered Pork Soup Dumplings. It was alright, nothing of a "wow" factor and was hardly any soup in it. My friend also got the hibachi steak and was honestly pretty solid. You have your rice, grilled veggies and choice of meat. I love Th Block and I usually go to Balo Kitchen, but I've always been super curious about Bold Dumplings since I'm a huge lover of dumplings and their menu seemed impressive. I ordered the spicy ramen because it seemed to have a lot- pork belly, beef dumpling, chicken dumpling, veggie dumpling, tofu, and egg. While the broth was delicious, I was overall underwhelmed. The dumplings came apart very easily. The chicken and veggie dumplings were delicious, the beef I felt needed seasoning or something. The pork belly was mostly fat, something I personally am not a huge fan of. If you're sensitive to spicy, I recommend asking for light spicy. read more

This was a new place at block I haven't noticed before!! Tried the dumplings combo that included kimchi & beef, shrimp, and beef only dumplings. We also got the soup dumplings. It came with small side salads, which complemented all of the dumplings. It was an amazing quality for the price as everything was delicious!! I walked in the block and saw a new dumpling place I have never seen. So I decided to try it out, I ordered dumpling combination and a chicken cheese ball, it took 20 minutes to get my order. What really got me frustrated was the fact that they didn't even had my order in the system They made it after I kept looking at them. When they gave me my order They didn't even apologize for the long wait and the fact they messed up my order. When I got home, I opened everything and the amount was a lot smaller than expected for 22 dollars. So I decided to try it before I judge the food I was hoping at least the food was good. I took a bite of the chicken cheese ball, I can not taste the cheese in it and the chicken ball(no cheese) fell apart as soon as I grabbed it. I decided to try the dumpling which was absolutely the worse. The kimchi one had a really hard surface, the chicken and the pork one tasted like a frozen dumpling you can buy at the grocery market down the street. The pork one was burnt at the bottom. The carrot salad at the bold dumpling is so simple yet so delicious! I should probably say that I am not a fan of carrots or salad in general and have never tried any of their dumplings, but what they have done here with their carrot salad should be available nation wide and it's a shame that it is not. I just wanted to say, my experience last week with my husband for our date night was nothing special at Bold Dumplings. While the service was slow, I felt that waiting for fresh made dumplings was worth it. The dumplings that I ordered was tasty and delicious. However, the spicy "ramen" was nothing but packet ramen. I waited quite sometime for it thinking that it was legit ramen. When I received my ramen, looking at it I knew it was straight from the packet. They added dumplings and egg to make it look legit. Upon tasting the soup, I knew that I hate it. The smell of dried persevere ramen was potent, the soup was bland and tasted like the Korean spicy ramen packet. I did not wasn't to ruin our date night, so I just ate the "ramen" but after taking 2 bites, I saw paper in my soup. I immediately went up and gave it to the cashier. She asked if I wanted another, I kindly declined and she offered a refund, which was very nice of her. Price maybe a little more than your average dumpling but the dumplings aren't average. I really don't know another place in a food court that makes dumplings by order from scratch. You literally see them rolling dough and you can taste the freshness in the stuffing. I had to place a second order because they were that good. read more

We got the chicken dumplings, while maybe not as soupy as other soup dumplings they were still very delicious. Hibachi steak was great too, shrimp shu mai, spicy pork wontons, and beef bao dumplings were all very yummy! We got the combination dumplings as well and the fried dumplings were a standout there.
