My wife, son, and I decided to have lunch at The Block, which gave me a chance to order from Bold Dumplings. While my wife went to get a poke bowl, I order the spicy ramen for myself and the teriyaki chicken for my son. I know, I know! Why order something that's NOT a dumpling from a place called Bold Dumplings! Guess I thought I'd be...BOLD! (the spicy ramen was being promoted on a full screen! and it advertised three different dumplings as added toppings! so it was screaming at me --- I'm delicious! pick me!!!) Never mind the thirty-minute wait (everyone looked busy and hard at work). But NO WAY do you charge $13.99 for a ramen dish where you open up a pack of Shin Ramen and throw dumplings on top plus an egg to give it some glam. I could have walked down to the K Market down the strip and gotten a pack of 5 Shin Ramens for $4.99. And no, it's not that the dish tasted JUST LIKE Shin Ramen. I actually saw a box of Shin Ramen brought in from storage for one of the cooks to bust open and start the dish. There are places that do this, but they price it accordingly. That specific dish has GOT TO GO! Basically, this is a restaurant version of paying $14.99 for the smallest popcorn and drink at a movie theater. AND...just so you dumpling fans know...not long after, they opened a commercial package of dumplings (read: store bought), brand name and all, to prepare for the steamer. I don't know if they do this with all their dumplings. But if they use frozen pre-packaged for one, I would question just what on their menu is actually prepared and put-together in-house. I've never had a my ramen, pho or any type of noodle soup packages in one container unless I'm taking left overs from dining in. When I got home, the food was soggy and majority of the soup was gone. Was very excited to see a dumpling spot open at The Block. Went on the opening week and it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. As far as the dumpling itself, i ordered Pork Soup Dumplings. It was alright, nothing of a "wow" factor and was hardly any soup in it. My friend also got the hibachi steak and was honestly pretty solid. You have your rice, grilled veggies and choice of meat. I love Th Block and I usually go to Balo Kitchen, but I've always been super curious about Bold Dumplings since I'm a huge lover of dumplings and their menu seemed impressive. I ordered the spicy ramen because it seemed to have a lot- pork belly, beef dumpling, chicken dumpling, veggie dumpling, tofu, and egg. While the broth was delicious, I was overall underwhelmed. The dumplings came apart very easily. The chicken and veggie dumplings were delicious, the beef I felt needed seasoning or something. The pork belly was mostly fat, something I personally am not a huge fan of. If you're sensitive to spicy, I recommend asking for light spicy. read more

I walked in the block and saw a new dumpling place I have never seen. So I decided to try it out, I ordered dumpling combination and a chicken cheese ball, it took 20 minutes to get my order. What really got me frustrated was the fact that they didn't even had my order in the system They made it after I kept looking at them. When they gave me my order They didn't even apologize for the long wait and the fact they messed up my order. When I got home, I opened everything and the amount was a lot smaller than expected for 22 dollars. So I decided to try it before I judge the food I was hoping at least the food was good. I took a bite of the chicken cheese ball, I can not taste the cheese in it and the chicken ball(no cheese) fell apart as soon as I grabbed it. I decided to try the dumpling which was absolutely the worse. Price maybe a little more than your average dumpling but the dumplings aren't average. I really don't know another place in a food court that makes dumplings by order from scratch. While the service was slow, I felt that waiting for fresh made dumplings was worth it. The dumplings that I ordered was tasty and delicious. However, the spicy "ramen" was nothing but packet ramen. I waited quite sometime for it thinking that it was legit ramen. When I received my ramen, looking at it I knew it was straight from the packet. They added dumplings and egg to make it look legit. Upon tasting the soup, I knew that I hate it. The smell of dried persevere ramen was potent, the soup was bland and tasted like the Korean spicy ramen packet.
