I recently had the best experience I've ever had in a Bolay, at this location. this Bolay is right off of i75 West Pines blvd exit and is located in a busy shopping center with a gym, other restaurants and businesses and a Whole Foods, but we were still able to find parking pretty quickly for a Friday afternoon. I hadn't been to this location in a few years, but it seems like the staff is all different than what I remembered. We were immediately greeted when we walked into the restaurant. We tried some of the newer menu items as we ordered our food, and if there was not much of an ingredient or if it had run out, it was quickly replaced by a fresh serving from the kitchen. One of the managers was working in the service line and he also walked around afterward to check in on the guests who were seated inside and outside of the restaurant. One of the employees checked on a table and even offered to refill the drink of a customer who was seated at the high top table with some friends. Of course the food was also delicious as everything was very freshly made. The restaurant was also very clean and it truly felt like the best neighborhood lunch spot. Everything I experienced on this visit to Bolay was a 10/10, I highly recommend this location and will definitely be back. read more

Bolay is a "healthy Chipotle" counter service bowl concept that I desperately wish I had more access to in the Orlando area. It's a beautiful thing to assemble a bowl with your preferences of bases (go for sweet potato noodles), vegetables (the Brussels are excellent), proteins, and sauces for a light but filling meal. Great food, I love the salmon and lemon chicken. I'm their kale salad is amazing. The staff is so friendly which is a bonus when it comes to the quick food service restaurants these days. This location is great! After bad experiences at the Bolay in Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale, I had stopped eating at Bolay altogether. However, I was in the area and decided to give this location a try, and I'm glad I did. I ordered online for pickup, and when I arrived, the person at the register was so nice and made me feel welcome right away! Everything was made perfectly and tasted delicious. The background was awesome. The employees are the worst for service they couldn't care if customers walk through there door. They talk too you like you are a burden to them . Bolay is a local, fast-casual chain offering build-your-own bowls, and one of few that actually offer nutrition information if you look for it online. This location is in a busy strip mall just off I-95 in west Pembroke Pines. I went to Bolay by myself for a quick weekday lunch in the mid-afternoon on a Friday just after New Year's. The price seemed standard for health-focused fast casual bowl chain restaurants in the area. The interior of the restaurant was light, bright, and clean with indoor and outdoor seating. It was not crowded when I went, which was off peak time, but there were still multiple customers dining in. The noise level was moderate. Similar fast casual chains sometimes have dirty tables, but the tables in this Bolay were clean when I visited. The worker at the counter was friendly to all entering customers, guiding them through the restaurant concept and menu choices. Service was quick; I especially appreciated the worker asking what specific pieces of chicken thigh I wanted, as similar establishments don't typically allow you to pick like that. Bolay's menu is standard across all establishments, and offers a fair amount of variety and unique flavor profiles without overwhelming the customer with choices. The food quality seemed decent; I especially liked the chicken thighs. Because the bowls are craft-your-own, sometimes the flavor profiles of the ingredients don't mesh together very well. I felt like the ingredients I chose - black rice, beans, sweet potato, and chicken thigh with chipotle sauce - individually tasted good, but didn't necessarily mesh well together. I am sorry, but with four people on shift in the afternoon, during hours where it was not busy--- the cleanliness of this restaurant nearly made me walk out. It appeared as though no one had the sense enough to wipe down the display top that the food is kept on. Morsels of food everywhere on the display. Empty, dried up food pans left out. Server having to swat away the flies so I might want to choose the chicken on display. My God. For such a modern and brightly designed eatery, I was shocked at the lack of care and attention geared towards food handling and infection control. Additionally, why are the cherry tomatoes so much money? For a spoonful of halved tomatoes, almost a dollar! And the protien upcharges too! The concept for Bolay was pitched to his father by Chris who noticed his friends wanted healthier quick food options. The first store opened in February of 2016. Now they have 13 locations in Florida, including Pembroke Pines, Boca Raton, Miami Lakes, and West Palm Beach. Bolay is a build your own bowl concept restaurant. You build a superfood bowl by layering a base, vegetables, protein, topping and sauce. A small bowl is around $10. First choose a base from items including gluten-free cilantro noodles, jasmine rice, Asian sweet potato noodles, and marinated kale. Vegetables selections feature ginger broccoli, roasted brussels sprouts, balsamic mushrooms, while proteins include chicken, pork, seafood and steak. Don't forget to sprinkle on some freshly chopped cilantro or parmesan cheese. Finally sauce it up with spicy Thai, creamy garlic & herb, cilantro pesto, and sriracha sauce. They also have tea, fresh pressed juice, cookies, and strawberry chia seed pudding. This Bolay is located in the Cobblestone Plaza in West Pembroke Pines near I-75.I stopped in to grab takeout for my lunch the next day. I wanted the rice but it wasn't ready. Instead I tried the sweet potato noodles for the first time and I really liked them. To the noodles I added roasted potatoes, broccoli, and lemon chicken. I love their sweet message on top of the bowl. For lunch today I had a healthy complete meal that powered me through my day. There are a lot of bowl concept restaurants but Bolay is my favorite. Oh man...I really like Bolay but have been disappointed lately. I ate here twice in the past couple weeks and waited until the second time to give this review. This really is a healthy place to eat. It is all gluten free which does not effect me but I know a lot of people eat this way nowadays. Because of supply chain shortages, they do not have four items that I used to get. This includes their delicious steak, mushrooms, Brussel sprouts and sweet potato noodles. I even think there is another veggie missing but cannot remember. What is left behind are not my favorites. What I do enjoy here is the black forbidden rice, cilantro noodles, the shrimp is pretty good....and I like the avocado of course. I do not eat pork or tofu. I had tried their teriyaki and lemon chicken in the past and do not care for those. That left me to try a sample of the new BBQ chicken. I do not care for that either. I do not think of myself as a picky eater either, especially with chicken. I normally love chicken. I understand they are having supply issues. It is not their fault but I am just not a fan like I used to be. I will try back in a couple.months and hopefully things improve in terms of them BRINGING BACK THE STEAK PLEASE. :) I do love how they have a sink to wash your hands upon entry. They have the most friendliest employees that I have ever met each and every person that I had an interaction with was friendly, and attentive, and full of information for me with all the questions that I asked. When I checked their website, prior to ordering, I was very happy to see that every dish on their menu is 100% gluten free. It made ordering less stressful and easy. And, well....I destroyed my large bowl! It was delicious! Wifey almost finished hers and she wanted to drink the sauce! I think it was a cilantro sauce. Dined here recently to try and check out this new location in West Pembroke Pines. It was the first time checking out a Bolay and I wanted to see what the hype was about. This location was shiny and new since they just opened and the young staff was eager to work and had a smile on their face. Basically, for $8.29 (small) or $10.99 (large) you get the choice of a protein, base, vegetable, add on and sauce. The proteins are lemon chicken, bbq chicken, pork, shrimp, steak and tufu. My favorite was the steak and the shrimp. The shrimp was so tasty with a thai seasoning. I also loved the cilantro noodles, kale and Cajun sweet potatoes. I wasn't too fond of the sauces for some reason. I felt like the meal itself was flavorful and the sauces did not do much to the flavor. Overall, it depends on what you like and the combination you put in your bowl. Everything is fresh and pretty much a healthy meal. I saw cookies as the only dessert choice. Not sure I will go out of my way again to come to this location but I will for sure return to a Bolay if one opens up near me. read more

I literally hate giving this 2 star review... and it's because I absolutely LOVE Bolay. I was amped to try this new location. I'm going to chalk up my underwhelming experience to them working out the kinks. Some pieces of the black forbidden rice were so hard that it made that part of the dish inedible, it ruined the entire experience. I will say the mushrooms are fresh but lack flavor. The Brussel sprouts were perfect. The GF chocolate chip cookies were not as super soft as I'm used to. I'll come back this weekend to give it another test go... hopefully we can up this to a 4/5 star next time. read more

Sorry Bolay. This was my first time ever trying Bolay, and unfortunately, I did not like the food. At all. I sorted the Yelp reviews to see what the low ratings were about just to see if I can relate. One reviewer wrote: "The chicken... I am not sure if they changed the quality of the meat but the chicken was absolutely horrible. It tasted like chinese chicken, you know the one that you get in the sweet and sour chicken that is soft and mushy and almost doesnt taste like real chicken. It tasted like processed meat. Some parts were super fatty. It was grayish in color and also had a bit of an after taste and was absolutely disgusting" This is exactly how I felt about the chicken. I ordered lemon chicken and bbq chicken. It was so disgusting. I couldn't not finish eating it. Had to give it away. It had a very weird consistency. Fatty. Translucent in color... and not chickeny. The jasmine rice had an off taste to it. I tasted it by itself without dipping it in any of the sauce to see what it really tasted like and it just didn't taste good. Like tap water and super bland. Mushrooms didn't taste like anything balsamic. The restaurant is very clean though. It is inviting. Another good thing is the carrot ginger sauce and the cilantro pesto sauce. Insanely amazing staff here that is only topped by the amazing food! This is a new Bolay opening up, staying with the health food trend! It's basically a healthy chipotle with amazing foods! They have chicken, steak, shrimp, and tofu, those are some of the many proteins they have here to choose from! You can choose between a small bol (how it's spelled here!) which is 2 bases, 2 proteins and 2 veggies, a small bol which is one base two veggies and one protein or a kids bol. They have multiple bases, such as spinach, kale, jasmine rice, quinoa, and cilantro noodles! For veggies, they have balsamic mushrooms, ginger broccoli, sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts! The food is incredible with the seasonings being perfect and cooked perfect as well! I chose the Thai shrimp and the spices of the shrimp were amazing! The shrimp was also perfect sized, not being small at all! The staff here is incredible and the service is insanely fast, definitely will be coming back here some time soon again! read more

I attended both the soft opening yesterday and the grand opening today and it was a great event! For their soft opening, you get a small bol when you check in through Facebook or post a story on your instagram. Today's grand opening was such a great turn out. The event started at 11 am, but customers were already lined up outside the door early in the morning. The first 100 customers was able to get a $50 gift card with a purchase of $8.29. Luckily when I arrived at 10 am I was number 78 out of the 100 and able to snag a gift card. The staff were amazing and friendly. They were passing out samples like cookies, chicken, and vegetables. There was also music and raffles. Bolay offers two different sizes of bols. The small bol consist of one base, two veggies, one protein, one add on, and sauce. The large bol consists of two bases, two veggies, two protein, one add on, and sauce. They also have a kids size available. My ultimate favorite order from bolay is orange basil quinoa, forbidden black rice, balsamic mushrooms, brusell sprouts, steak au jus, parmesan cheese, and cilantro pesto. This was my first visit to Bolay and I liked it. They are a healthier/lighter version of Chipotle (my opinion). You basically create your own bowl. They have good healthy options. Kale, rice, cilantro noodles, etc. as your base. They have several toppings to choose from like beans, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, etc. They have 3 house sauces to choose from as well. The price is decent. About $8-$11 depending on the size & topping choices. It's a nice place to stay and eat. Clean restaurant and very friendly staff. Plenty of parking in the parking lot.
