Don't let the over simplified name of the restaurant stop you from experiencing a world of goodness that will have you coming back for more! I've been here plenty of times and should have wrote this review already; therefore, this restaurant deserves a 5 star. I've frequented many places like Boiling Point, the Happy Lamb, and other similar places; yet, Boiling World has always gave an amazing dining experience. I come here about once a month and have not been disappointed once - so I'm definitely a loyal customer. Here you can get creative with the wife variety of veggies, meats, and other fixings offered. Their dining experience, unlike the majority of other places, will be an All You Can Eat experience with your choice of broth and meets. Because there is so much to this restaurant, I can only cover the highlights that have made the biggest difference. Pros: 1) The dining experience is ALL YOU CAN EAT! Not many Shabu or Hot Pot restaurants can brag about this. Therefore, there are NO confusing menu sets to choose. NO pre-set meal pricing to worry about. NO limitations! One price gets you everything edible in the restaurant! 2) You can try multiple broths. From Tonkatsu, Miso, Spicy Miso, Szechuan, Tom-Yum, Pho, and a Vegetarian option broth. You try one, or you can try them all! You can even go half-half. My favorite, for example, is the half Szechuan and half Tonkatsu. Want to make things spicy to your liking? Ask for a side of Szechuan base to add to that Tom-Yum or Pho. 3) The meat menu is well rounded. There are plenty of options. They got all the basics covered. I usually stick to all the beef options (about 6 different cuts to choose from). 4) The experience comes with a buffet style bar with all the veggies, noodles, seafood, and toppings to eat to your heart and stomach's delight. An amazing variety! Even just for the noodles, there are at lest 5 noodles to choose from! As for veggies such as mushrooms... they have like 5 available! Shiitake, Enoki, Rat Ear Mushrooms, Portabello, and your standard white/brown mushroom. Moreover, there are cut fruit, and sweets available. Lastly, there are dips and toppings available and enough to get creative with! 5) Their drinks are BOMB!! They have a bar with many choices! I honestly would just come here for a drink because their drinks are just that great! Plus, their prices on the drinks lean to the more reasonable side when it comes to pricing. The loaded lime margarita is epic, and the lemon drop martini is intoxicating! 6) You get ice cream at the end of your experience! You get at least 7-8 flavors to choose from! SIMPLY AMAZING! Cons: 1) The drive to such an awesome restaurant could be much shorter. 2) You may just have to bring your own bib and handkerchief, because... YES, it can get messy. It is soup after all. 3) You'll be so excited to dine, the wait for your broth to reach the table will feel like an eternity although it can take about 10 mins. But the wait is worth it! Last but not least! All the workers/servers and hosts here are so diligent, courteous, careful and friendly! Miguel is awesome if you happen to dine in when he is there! The owner/manager is really cool and friendly too! He was spotted helping customers here and there during my last visit. That was really cool to see. Boiling World added two new broth to their menu . Chinese herbs & kimchi broth flavor. Chinese herbs is not for the weak, the broth has a note of a slight bitter after taste and medicinal aromatic flavor. I like it, so used to this type of medicinal scent growing up and I am certain our elder grandparents and parents will find Chinese herb broth to their liking . *note that a meal for two here cost $89 for the experience that we had* I've been coming to boiling world for quite a few times, and in the beginning they started off strong. Great food quality, clean restaurant and great staff. Unfortunately, the biggest thing that has taken a nose dive is the service. The last few visits weren't perfect by any means, but they were nothing compared to the service that was just experience by my girlfriend and myself. We had been sat around 4:52 and our drink, broth and first meat order had been placed. When they brought our drink order out, they forgot one of the sodas so we had mentioned it to one of the servers. Through the course of an hour, that soda was still not brought over even after another two attempts of asking for it. Additionally, we filled out the form for our second order of meats. The form also sat at the edge of the table not taken by a server. Yet, we watched several servers rushing to the tables around us to help other patrons. Even the tables we were placed between. It felt like we were deliberately being skipped or if we were invisible. Finally, by around 5:40ish a server came around to ask if there was anything else she could get for us. I informed her that we had been still waiting on a soda we ordered almost an hour ago (my girlfriend went the whole time without a drink she ordered) and that our broths were empty in the pot (imagine trying to eat hot pot without any broth to cook the items) and that we never got more meat than first round of thin meat. She apologized and asked if she could still get the drink?! At that point, why would we want to wait longer for just the drink. The meal was over at that point and our appetite was ruined. We declined the free dessert because we didn't know how long that would take or if it would even make it to our table. Word of advice, I understand that weekends are busy times for restaurants but if you come here expect the possibility of being forgotten entirely. And for $89 for two people?!?! Ya, you're better off spending your money elsewhere like Bun World that opened up next door. Please work on this, especially for people choosing to spend that much money on a meal out. I usually come here for lunch. They open at noon and there's usually a wait already before they open. You choose your sauces, vegetables, various fish balls, quail eggs, hot dogs, spam, imitation crab leg, shrimp, calamari, and various types of noodles. They have a sauce bar of chopped onions, cilantro, ginger, sesame paste, grated radish, chopped garlic, chopped chili, and bean paste sauce. For noodles, they have udon, spinach noodles, ramen, and glass noodles. For meats, they have small hot dogs, tofu, quail eggs, imitation crab legs, sliced fish, shrimp, mussels, scallops, crayfish, and various fish balls. They have pickled cucumbers, kimchi, seaweed, various bok choy, cabbage, baby corn, spinach, sliced squash, bean sprouts, various mushrooms, tomatoes, and baby corn. I did get full from the quail eggs, bok choy, baby carrots, mushrooms, and the thinly sliced beef. You get your own bowl of rice near the fresh vegetables. You choose 3 types of meat for each round, the meat is sliced thinly so they cook quickly. They do give a lot of tripe. I usually get their Sichuan broth but the other broths are good too. He'd be walking and if you say, needed more meat you have to say it fast or loud because he didn't stop, he would just keep walking. The waitress that got our drinks and appetizers was really sweet and nice though. Ambiance was really nice. It could be intimate or it can feel private. I feel it could fit into anyone's need for any celebration or dates. My only wish would be, more options for non hot pot guest. Just in case you had someone in your party that isn't into hotpot. Like sushi places have non fish items. The price point, I feel is spot on. You can make it worth it or not depending on how you strategize. Wait times vary but it's definitely always busy! I love the buffet style with lots of tongs and gloves. I couldn't try them all as I got too full too fast because they have so many options. Our friends have been telling us to make the drive from OC since they had just bought a house nearby. We kept hearing good things about Boiling World so we met them up for a late lunch on a weekend. There was about a 10 minute wait until they called our party of 4. Boiling World is about $40pp for the weekend and for dinner. It is AYCE with ordered meats and a serve service salad bar. The self service bar is one of the largest for an AYCE shabu place I have been to. It includes all sorts of appetizers, dipping sauces, veggies, mushrooms, seafood, and even desserts. They have more options than other shabu places I have been to. I also appreciate the cleanliness of the place. I like that it was individual pots. I originally got tonkotsu. I found it to be a little bland for my liking so I asked them to pour in some shichuan broth and it was perfect. The meats were all good. I like that they came stacked so it didn't take up too much room at our table. All the salad stuff was nice. I liked the large variety and freshness. They even had different types of noodles and even things like kelp. Oh and they had a limit of one hot appetizer. The japchae was surprisingly impressive and the curry fries were also good. And at the end they had some sweet ass watermelon and pineapple. There was also cake. Oh and you get one complementary ice cream cup of a flavor you choose. Maybe I didn't see it, but I was looking for the crab legs and crawfish, but alas, this isn't that traditional Asian buffet. I thought overall, this place is pretty expensive for what you get. Best AYCE hotpot place you can find in the IE area that is comparable to what is out in SGV. The meat and veggies comes in a different variety which is beef, chicken, pork and lamb. They have bugolgi now which was new to me on the menu. I was not a fan of marinated meat into my broth. I wished they had a recipe guide for the sauce like most places, because you see people struggling who's new to this type of food. The service here has always been decent, but New Years Day when my family and I went, it was a disaster. The wait was super long because they ran out to clean pots, you hear two servers talking in the front about how it's been like this all day and no one is bussing the tables. They had empty pots at the table of 12, they should of used those to sit the smaller party but instead they left that table untouchable for over an hour. We ordered several rounds of the angus beef brisket, flat iron, beef belly, and pork belly. They were all pretty good but not anything mind-blowing. Each order also comes in a pretty small portion. They even have fruits and desserts and ready to eat pasta/seaweed salad/kimchi. We made the mistake of eating so much from the station we were almost out of stomach space before the meat even got to our table!!
