It's been about a decade since I've had Boiling Point in socal so figured it would be a good option for dinner when I was in the Warm Springs Fremont area. Came here for a late dinner on a weekday and there were several other groups dining, yet ample seating to choose from. My sister and I both got the beef hot soup with my sister getting the mild and myself opting for medium spicy. The broth was so flavorful and I love the variety of food you get in the soup, from the beef, tofu, veggies, etc. I felt like the medium spicy was good while eating, but the spice did linger in my throat so I found myself drinking a lot of tea and water. As someone who enjoys has a decent tolerance for spicy and likes a little kick but wants to enjoy my food, I think I'd get the medium spicy again. But I'm sure the mild would also do the trick considering I heard a lot of people around, including my sister, say that for mild it did have a bit of spice to it. I got rice as my free side so one thing to note is the soup already has vermicelli noodles at the bottom which is something I always forget so you can either mix it up and get rice like I did, or get extra noodles if you get vermicelli as your side. If you don't finish your soup, they have soup containers so you can take leftovers home if you want. We also got a honey green tea and honey milk tea and it was a bit on the sweeter side for me but sweetness aside, the tea flavor was strong which I personally liked. I think next time I'd see if they could adjust the sweetness or just get the regular green tea. The staff was friendly and attentive whenever we needed something and service was pretty fast with our food coming out in a timely manner. I had dinner here tonight, as it wasn't too far from the hotel I'm staying at during a business trip. Service was quick and the servers were all nice. I ordered the house special with medium spice as it had a little bit of everything. I'm not a fan of fermented tofu, and that was a big reason why I was hesitant on ordering this bowl. My coworker assured me the flavor wasnt that strong. I tried it, and it wasn't overpowering, but I ended up eating around the tofu in this case. The bloodstone can also be off putting for some, but I didn't mind them. The rest of the pot was delicious. The mushrooms and veggies were nice and fresh, and the beef and clam was also nice. The serving size is also quite large, so come hungry. Overall, I don't have any real complaints about this location and it can hit the spot on a cold day. read more

It's been a long time since I've returned to BP. We were seated at 2:35pm on a Saturday after waiting about 10-15 minutes. There's plexiglass on each table that kind of shields you from nearby patrons,which is helpful since it's a hot pot place so broth is flying everywhere regardless of how careful you are. I love the dipping sauces at BP which might be the reason I actually eat at this non-ayce hotpot place haha. The price has definitely gone up so it's a little pricey in my opinion. I got the beef hotpot and while they do give you a small portion of beef slices, you only get one piece of each of the other proteins (meatball, fish cake, etc) unfortunately. It's a nice meal to keep you satiated and keep you warm on a cold day, but if you want a big meal I'd recommend an ayce hotpot place. FYI Their lunch hours are from 11-3pm daily which includes a complimentary side of rice or vermicelli and a black or green tea! read more

7 years ago, I would've given them 2-stars (long 1hr wait + flavorless broth)...I told myself to avoid this location and never go back again if I want to preserve my fond memories of the BP in SoCal. I was so happy when they opened the Cupertino location & that one lived up to the expectation (even though it was slightly more expensive, probably because of the location). Sadly, they closed down during COVID. There are only a handful of individual Taiwanese hotpots in this area so my bf and I decided to (finally) give BP Fremont another chance. We're glad we did because we can finally add this to our hotpot rotation spot again. Service - nice & friendly. I noticed that the waitresses were super helpful to the tables around us, especially to first-timers. Scan the QR code for menu, and someone will come take your order. Food - I got the House Special (my go-to) w/flaming spice. The broth was flavorful, ingredients were fresh and full. I didn't think it was *flaming* spicy though. The rice upgrade was not necessary, but it was pretty good. I used less sauce because the scallion gravy gave the rice some flavor already. Fire - never burnt out during the meal, so it kept the pot hot and boiling - just the way I like it. You don't have the option to turn off the fire yourself though. Sauces - great, they have new ones now (the sweet and spicy powder was interesting). Dessert - complementary jelly, it was good and refreshing. Food quality + Service: Pretty good Quick service and all foods I've tried have been a hit. Go to: Beef (#4) - chose mild spicy and tasted spicier than normal mild but still good. If you can't handle spicy/don't like spicy, choose None. But if you like spicy, medium and up is good. Not that much beef included though. Curry (#6) - comes with milk cream on top that tastes sweet to help balance the curry flavor Price: Okay More pricier than other Taiwanese hot pot places, but I think worth it once in a while or if you're craving it. Each hot pot is pretty big and supposedly serves 1 person. If you come for lunch before 3 pm, they give a free tea with each hot pot ordered. This is my favorite hot pot chain to go to so far. The anticipated for me to try this place only to be let down tremendously! I remember whent they first opened the line was out the door and you had to wait so long!! however, now the wait has died down and u can walk in with ease! So this is my first visit since they opened since I just do not wait in lines for hours for hot pot. So Their menu is simple and sweet which is nice. However, I was expecting a lil more from the quality taste from my pot. not sure if it was the one I orderd but I swore it was the hottest or spiciest one. I sure was dissapointed. The broth was decent but still needed an extra kick to it from my knowledge. The cool thing is that they do serve an individual bowl so you can splurge and eat everything inside of it. This Boiling Point is in the Mission Square plaza. This is a semi-busy plaza, especially on the weekends/weeknights, but there is usually plenty of parking. Service is slow and almost non-existent. The food takes awhile to come out even though it is supposed to cook in front of you. The food here has gone downhill over the years, you are better off going to Tasty Pot or somewhere else. I ordered my usual, the Miso pot, which they changed it from Japanese Miso to Tonkotsu Miso now. The pot tastes very different now, and it is not as good. Boiling point is the spot to warm you up. Personally, I enjoy eating with variety of ingredients together, so BP hits. With each pot, you get to choose (complimentary) rice or vermicelli. If you want extra ingredients, it would cost extra, but I would say it's pretty flexible to your liking. During peak hours, you can expect to wait at least 10-15min or so to get seated. BP is located in a plaza, so parking is pretty easy to find. read more

I love this place. My favorite item is the beef soup. It comes with beef, of course, vermicelli, corn on the cob, mushroom, cabbage, fish cake, etc.... I ordered mild spiciness but it's hotter than I expected for a mild. The broth is very tasty (a bit on the salty side). You have a choice of rice or more vermicelli, black or green tea (I came here on a Sunday lunch. Not sure if the free tea is available all the time). The service was great- friendly and attentive. I like this place and we try to go a couple of times during winter for there are other hot pot places I like too. But is it possible for this establishment to change the total amount of your payment? My family of six and I were all craving hot pot. So we decided to come here. However, they couldnt serve us because my 10 year old sister, who has several food allergies, brought her own food. The short asian woman who was very rude to us said they would all lose their jobs if they let anyone come in with outside food. I guess management doesn't care about their workers as well. The greeting from the staff when we first came in wasn't very welcoming either. I understand that the restaurant has a no outside food policy, but they should provide accommodations and be more lenient towards their customers who are children. Service & Food here is a hit or miss. I often get the Taiwanese Spicy or Beef Pot & I find that the spice levels are not always consistent.. Sometimes it's burn ya booty hole spicy and other times it's like comparable to hot Cheetos spice level. I like that during lunch they give you an option of green tea or black tea. Boiling Point has been around for some time now but my GF got me to come here for the first time. I got the milk cream curry and She got the beef. Both were very yummy but I personally prefer the curry one more. There's just more of a flavor profile in my opinion and if you're someone that can't stuff that's super spicy, the milk cream curry really helps balance out that spice ( the spice level is really spicy here in my opinion so just be ready for that. I got a mild and was still sweating bullets!) Everything in the hot pot was super delicious and complimented each diff broth well. I do recommend leaving the fire on and letting some of the harder toppings cook longer like the potato before enjoying. The service here is amazing and I love the little gel packets they give you at the end! Super refreshing for the palate. My only complaint was that there was barely any meat in my broth. I probably only had 3 small slices of beef while the rest were veggies and other little toppings. Aside from that I highly recommend giving this place a try as it has become one of my favorite hot pot places! read more

There's a reason that they have multiple locations in SoCal. Boiling Point is conveniently located in the square near Warm Springs blvd, so it's easy to access freeways ramps. Upon entering the waiter greeted us immediately and directed us towards our table. Since COVID, they have been using QR code menus that you scan to see on your phone (for the less tech-savvy, they will provide physical laminated menus). The waiter will come by and take your order shortly after. If you go for lunch, a choice of green or black tea is provided. Food came out quickly and I can see why people prefer Boiling Point to Tasty Pot. In my opinion, the broth here is much more flavorful compared to tasty pot. They provide 4 types of sauces to dip your food in, but the broth provides enough flavor that you really don't need to eat it with any condiments (although the plum chili powder is amazing!). Overall, highly recommend if you are a new or an old timer of individual hotpot! read more

I always wanted to try Boiling Point but for some reason never came around to it until a friend was craving it. We shared the Taiwanese Spicy bowl and got their Halloween boba drink since it was buy one get one. The drink was interesting with cumin seeds and all but shockingly enough I actually liked it. Our bowl was spicy and when I mean spicy my nose was running. I believe this only comes at the top level of spice which is flaming and I was totally fine with that. It was sooo good! Love the food here! My go-to is the Korean Bean Paste or the Tonkotsu Miso. I usually add Fresh Enoki Mushrooms and have a the scallion gravy rice with a Mango Slush to drink. One order is good for two people in my opinion. Prices are fair and the service is good. When they were open for indoor dining it would get busy so keep in mind there may be a wait during busy hours. This is the first time that I tried the curry one, I usually get the beef mild. The curry one was good but in my opinion it wasn't super special. My favorite is definitely still the beef! I've been coming here since it's opened and the food and services have really gone down hill. We can never seem to get any of the waiter's attention whether it's for shutting the fire for our hotpots or for extra broth because our pots were drying out. We made eye contact with a few but they would immediately look down and pretend they didn't see us. They're doing a double meat promotion right now but the quality of the meat is awful. Because of the double meat, they also skimmed out on the stuff that's usually in the pot. For example, I had the Thai tomato pot and it only had one piece of clam and three pieces of veggies in it and the rest was just the really rough and non-separated meat they put in. What really irked me was when I asked for a small container to take my already used sauce home, they said I can't do that and that the sauce is not free. I showed the waiter I just wanted to pour what is left from my sauce plate into a container and he still said no. It's sauce I already was using so I don't understand this at all. read more

We got seated pretty quickly around 7pm and got our orders in.. I tried the boba for the first time and i didn't like it at all... it was way too sweet with no real tea flavor. Would not recommend it unless maybe way less sweet? The soup was hot and filling.. they have a fire under to keep it boiling but u can have them take it out at anytime when it gets too hot. I got the #8 Spicy Taiwanese and I forgot to tell them no intestine. I was able to handle the spiciness quite well and would definitely order again. My mother and I were harassed by one of the most atrocious male waiters here, who deliberately insulted, yelled at, and shamelessly subject her to sexual harassment, we are considering filing a lawsuit and are going to report this incident to the authorities. We ordered two hot pots that were sparse in ingredients and it looked like it wasn't clean either. We paid over $60 worth of food and got what looked like dog food in a lukewarm pot. When we raised this issue, the server lost his temper and started denigrating us in public in the restaurant, humiliating us, my mother started crying and he just walked away with a smile on his sadistic face, as if he was happy with how he treated us. I've never seen such a terrible person in my life. BEWARE of this restaurant. Came on a Sunday night with two of my friends for dinner. We had boiling pot in LA and we liked it so definitely wanted to try it out in SJ area. Beef pot - my friend got medium spicy. It was okay. Beef was kinda dried. Medium spicy was recommended. Lamb pot - my friend got medium spicy as well but hers looked much spicier than the beef pot. Don't know why. Lamb meat was dried too. Seafood tofu - I got mild spicy. Maybe that's why it was plain...? A lot of lettuce on top but not much seafood. Wouldn't recommend it if you want something more flavorful. Overall it was okay. LA ones are much better. I don't know if that's SF thing. So far no restaurant impressed us. read more

THE BEST HOTPOT SPOT IN FREMONT !! I know it has 3 stars, and the price is kinda much, but the food taste and service is quite nice here. Me and my boyfriend love to challenge eachother with spice levels and who can finish their entire mini wok ! My favorite hotpot flavors here is the korean one, the miso, and the veggie. You also have a free rice and their tea is decent. I also love the staff here they are so kind and frequently check in. Music is okay here too sometimes they play fun kpop, chinese pop, or when the new sza dropped they played a mix of her new songs :)! this is a fun spot that is quite lively around dinner time !
