We shared the Taiwanese Spicy bowl and got their Halloween boba drink since it was buy one get one. The drink was interesting with cumin seeds and all but shockingly enough I actually liked it. Our bowl was spicy and when I mean spicy my nose was running. I believe this only comes at the top level of spice which is flaming and I was totally fine with that. It was sooo good! After going to tasty pot for so long I finally got a chance to eat here. Similar to tasty pot but at boiling point they don't skimp out on anything. I got the #8 Spicy Taiwanese and I forgot to tell them no intestine. I was able to handle the spiciness quite well and would definitely order again. My mom ordered the #4 beef and the #9 miso for my brother. Like I mention earlier these hot pots are packed with everything. I noticed some come with two shrimps instead of one. Came on a Sunday night with two of my friends for dinner. We had boiling pot in LA and we liked it so definitely wanted to try it out in SJ area. Beef pot - my friend got medium spicy. It was okay. Beef was kinda dried. Medium spicy was recommended. Lamb pot - my friend got medium spicy as well but hers looked much spicier than the beef pot. Don't know why. Lamb meat was dried too. Seafood tofu - I got mild spicy. Maybe that's why it was plain...? A lot of lettuce on top but not much seafood. Wouldn't recommend it if you want something more flavorful. Overall it was okay. I've been coming here since it's opened and the food and services have really gone down hill. We can never seem to get any of the waiter's attention whether it's for shutting the fire for our hotpots or for extra broth because our pots were drying out. We made eye contact with a few but they would immediately look down and pretend they didn't see us. They're doing a double meat promotion right now but the quality of the meat is awful. Because of the double meat, they also skimmed out on the stuff that's usually in the pot. For example, I had the Thai tomato pot and it only had one piece of clam and three pieces of veggies in it and the rest was just the really rough and non-separated meat they put in. What really irked me was when I asked for a small container to take my already used sauce home, they said I can't do that and that the sauce is not free. I drove to this plaza with the intention of going somewhere else for lunch but when I saw that I had parked in front of Boiling Point, that changed everything so we went here instead. I love Boiling Point and other personal hot pot places. We just don't have them where I live so I get really happy whenever I see a place. The one in San Mateo closed during the pandemic. I don't really eat seafood so I usually get the beef or lamb pots since those don't really contain seafood except imitation crab meat (which I like). The pots are really hot and bubbly. I got the beef one, medium spicy. You have to be really careful with the spice here and try not to inhale any of the spice to the back of the throat. Otherwise you're just coughing a lot, which is what happened to us. Even my sister who got the mild one thought hers was also pretty spicy. But I love the flavors here so I just try to eat very carefully to minimize the amount of coughing haha. The sauces on the table are quite good. I'm quite fond of the garlic bean paste and could just eat that with the food all day. In my opinion the meats from the pot don't have too much flavor on its own because it's just boiled in the soup so you should eat meats (and other ingredients but especially the meat) dipped with some sauce, and perhaps some rice if you like. The pots themselves also have glass noodles which are really tasty. I also love the cabbage soaking in the soup. The imitation crab meat are also good. They also throw in corn on the cob and tomato (at least for the beef one they do) and they are quite hot so I'd recommend taking them out to cool first. For lunch you can get an slightly sweet iced black or green tea which is nice. We got the black tea and it tasted pretty good and refreshing with the pot. The restaurant itself is a little bit on the small side. I don't really recommend huge parties here though. read more

My family of six and I were all craving hot pot. So we decided to come here. However, they couldnt serve us because my 10 year old sister, who has several food allergies, brought her own food. The short asian woman who was very rude to us said they would all lose their jobs if they let anyone come in with outside food. I guess management doesn't care about their workers as well. The greeting from the staff when we first came in wasn't very welcoming either. I understand that the restaurant has a no outside food policy, but they should provide accommodations and be more lenient towards their customers who are children. My brother and I noticed this location while my dad was driving to the hotel. My brother and I freaked out because we had it forever the first time in Tukwila, WA in June 2021 and it was so yummy! The customer service was great! They are so busy! The turn over of tables has a perfect system (You need to sign in your name and how many are in your party. You wait for a table to finish up, pay, and they clean it and call your party). The food was awesome! I got the same thing the milk cream curry mild with rice and the Hokkaido Milk tea. Loved the milk cream curry! It was a nice mild spice and the milk tea helped a lot of calming the heat down. The milk tea was a little too sweet for me but I like how creamy it was! My only issue with the place was the bathroom. There are two bathrooms, but the only I went into since the other one was occupied. So I can't review how the other bathroom looked like. This was my only issue with the restaurant was that the bathroom was dirty. Like, someone had an explosion on the inside of the toilet seat. Was seated promptly but I think you might have to wait if you come after 7pm. - Beef Hot Pot - I got the mild version and it may just be me, I have low spice tolerance in general, but it was extremely spicy. The flavor was good but I had a rough time eating it because it was too spicy. I do like the fact that they put fried tofu skins and a fish cake with their name stamped on it. We decided to stop by earlier in the evening before the dinner rush. At 5:00 pm, there was only 1 other table. People started trickling in around 5:30-6:00 pm or so. Menus are via a QR code, but I decided to ask for a paper menu (easier to read!). I selected the beef hot pot, mild on the spice meter. Overall, it was very tasty & delicious! I love that Boiling Point is individual sized hot pot and you don't have to cook a thing!! I am not your typical Asian girl and I don't eat hot pot regularly. Nothing conquers winter chills like a bowl of hot soup. Boiling Point offers a different take on hot pot. Rather than assembling and cooking the ingredients yourself, you're brought an already assembled, mostly cooked bowl which is placed atop a portable stove to keep it piping hot. Convenience in lieu of the fun factor of traditional hot pot. There was a long wait when the wife and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon. But not all tables were filled - a couple tables were covered in dirty dishes and not cleared during our half hour wait. But once we were seated and had ordered, the food came quickly. Because it was after 3pm, we had to pay dinner prices instead of lunch prices. The wife ordered the Beef Hot Soup ($15.36), while I opted for the Lamb Hot Soup ($15.36). The broth was flavorful, though the broth in the wife's soup got noticeably saltier towards the bottom. Half of my soup was cabbage and other vegetables, but there was still a reasonable amount of ingredients and the quality was decent. The soups come with a bowl of rice, which I paid $2.50 to upgrade to include a runny egg and green onions. There was already an egg in the soup, but hey, more protein! The wife also ordered the Hokkaido Milk Tea ($5.50). It was decent but too creamy; it tasted like a third of it was cream. We'd also ordered an appetizer but it was never brought out, which might've been a good thing because the soup was pretty filling. When I asked the waiter to ensure that the appetizer was not on the bill, he complied but was pretty stoic and non-apologetic. And not a word when he handed me the bill. My friends recommended the beef pot to me and I'm glad that I tried it because it was really good! It was a rainy, freezing winter day when my friend and I came here to catch up over lunch, and since I've never tried Boiling Point, we came here. Straight from the start, I wanted to try the Taiwanese Spicy pot. Taiwanese Spicy is only available at the maximum spiciness level (Flaming), and is $18.46 for lunch (man, so expensive!). It includes cabbage, instant noodle, tempura, clam, sliced beef, enoki mushroom, cuttlefish ring, fuzhou fish ball, pork intestine, fried taro, maitake mushroom, fried tofu skin, iced tofu, green onion, and cilantro. We also ordered stinky tofu, and I got an add on of spinach noodles. I was surprised that the spinach noodles came in a package, like instant noodles. The stinky tofu was absolutely delicious. The Taiwanese Spicy was extremely spicy, they definitely weren't playing around with the spice level here! I ate all my noodles, all the proteins, and tried to eat as much of the cabbage as I could, but it was so spicy, I ended up leaving all the broth and some of the cabbage behind because I couldn't finish it. However, when we passed by the plaza at 8pm, there was a line out the door. It's good to come here early so there won't be a line. After looking at the menu, I got the Lamb Hot Pot. Lamb Hot Pot- I have a huge appetite and finished this meal feeling stuffed. Usually I don't get full easily and this dish definitely filled me up. I would have liked more lamb in the hot pot because it was a LAMB hot pot. The lamb was not rough to eat even though it was left boiling in the pot for a long time. The soup was a little sour which made the deal for me. I enjoyed the vegetables in it because of the flavor from the soup that integrated itself in. The food here is really good and the bowls are really big so you are definitely getting what you are paying for. If you ask to take out pork from the soups they are willing to do that. I got a mild spicy beef soup because I wasn't sure if the spice would be too much but they do have spicy sauce you can add if you need to give it an extra kick. The sauce they have on the table taste good as well. The waiters & waitresses are super nice. The food comes out pretty quickly but I went when it wasn't too packed and during lunch time.
