I came here on New Year's Eve with a my 2 friends and overall, it was a nice experience. The weather was crazy on Saturday (lots of rain, very windy, etc.) and so hot pot was the perfect remedy and comfort food for this. We decided to stop by earlier in the evening before the dinner rush. At 5:00 pm, there was only 1 other table. People started trickling in around 5:30-6:00 pm or so. Menus are via a QR code, but I decided to ask for a paper menu (easier to read!). I selected the beef hot pot, mild on the spice meter. Overall, it was very tasty & delicious! I love that Boiling Point is individual sized hot pot and you don't have to cook a thing!! I am not your typical Asian girl and I don't eat hot pot regularly. But Boiling Point is one of my favorites, for sure. It was so comforting, and I love that you can now select between rice and vermicelli. Their sauces are also fun, and you can mix your own in the side dish they provide you. One of my friends got the tofu & seafood, the other the Taiwanese special hot pot. What kind of company policy doesn't allow me to have my food that I paid for, be put on the side? I came here and asked for the seafood meat on the side because one of my nieces I came with is allergic. My kid still wanted to eat seafood so we asked for it on the side and we were told it's against company policy. They then offered to charge us EXTRA, to have the same portion on the side. I drove to this plaza with the intention of going somewhere else for lunch but when I saw that I had parked in front of Boiling Point, that changed everything so we went here instead. I love Boiling Point and other personal hot pot places. We just don't have them where I live so I get really happy whenever I see a place. The one in San Mateo closed during the pandemic. I don't really eat seafood so I usually get the beef or lamb pots since those don't really contain seafood except imitation crab meat (which I like). The pots are really hot and bubbly. I got the beef one, medium spicy. You have to be really careful with the spice here and try not to inhale any of the spice to the back of the throat. Otherwise you're just coughing a lot, which is what happened to us. Even my sister who got the mild one thought hers was also pretty spicy. But I love the flavors here so I just try to eat very carefully to minimize the amount of coughing haha. The sauces on the table are quite good. I'm quite fond of the garlic bean paste and could just eat that with the food all day. In my opinion the meats from the pot don't have too much flavor on its own because it's just boiled in the soup so you should eat meats (and other ingredients but especially the meat) dipped with some sauce, and perhaps some rice if you like. The pots themselves also have glass noodles which are really tasty. I also love the cabbage soaking in the soup. The imitation crab meat are also good. They also throw in corn on the cob and tomato (at least for the beef one they do) and they are quite hot so I'd recommend taking them out to cool first. For lunch you can get an slightly sweet iced black or green tea which is nice. We got the black tea and it tasted pretty good and refreshing with the pot. The restaurant itself is a little bit on the small side. I don't really recommend huge parties here though. read more

My brother and I noticed this location while my dad was driving to the hotel. My brother and I freaked out because we had it forever the first time in Tukwila, WA in June 2021 and it was so yummy! The customer service was great! They are so busy! The turn over of tables has a perfect system (You need to sign in your name and how many are in your party. You wait for a table to finish up, pay, and they clean it and call your party). The food was awesome! I got the same thing the milk cream curry mild with rice and the Hokkaido Milk tea. Loved the milk cream curry! It was a nice mild spice and the milk tea helped a lot of calming the heat down. The milk tea was a little too sweet for me but I like how creamy it was! My only issue with the place was the bathroom. There are two bathrooms, but the only I went into since the other one was occupied. So I can't review how the other bathroom looked like. This was my only issue with the restaurant was that the bathroom was dirty. Like, someone had an explosion on the inside of the toilet seat. It kind of made sense that it wasn't clean because they were so busy like none stop serving food and customers walking in. Was seated promptly but I think you might have to wait if you come after 7pm. - Beef Hot Pot - I got the mild version and it may just be me, I have low spice tolerance in general, but it was extremely spicy. The flavor was good but I had a rough time eating it because it was too spicy. I do like the fact that they put fried tofu skins and a fish cake with their name stamped on it. Definitely recommend getting the vermicelli because of how much the delicious and free refill soup it soaks up. - Spicy Fermented Tofu - Not necessarily the most authentic Taiwanese stinky tofu per say but pretty good nonetheless. It's not crispy but the tofu soaking up all the delicious sauce is pretty good. I will say that its not spicy at all. - Fresh Milk Tea - This is so weird but I think that Boiling Point has one of the best milk teas even though that's not what they are known for. For one, if you think the hot pot is too spicy, the milk tea will definitely help cool you down. Also I think their boba is brown sugar which is very nice. The smaller meat portion is definitely noticeable and the flavoring is very lacking. The beef pot used to have a very good satay flavor and a little spice. I ordered the beef with mild. I have a very very small tolerance for spicy food but thought I would try some spice. However, It was definitely wayyyy too spicy for me, even as mild. But not all tables were filled - a couple tables were covered in dirty dishes and not cleared during our half hour wait. But once we were seated and had ordered, the food came quickly. Because it was after 3pm, we had to pay dinner prices instead of lunch prices. The wife ordered the Beef Hot Soup ($15.36), while I opted for the Lamb Hot Soup ($15.36). The broth was flavorful, though the broth in the wife's soup got noticeably saltier towards the bottom. Half of my soup was cabbage and other vegetables, but there was still a reasonable amount of ingredients and the quality was decent. The soups come with a bowl of rice, which I paid $2.50 to upgrade to include a runny egg and green onions. There was already an egg in the soup, but hey, more protein! The wife also ordered the Hokkaido Milk Tea ($5.50). It was decent but too creamy; it tasted like a third of it was cream. We'd also ordered an appetizer but it was never brought out, which might've been a good thing because the soup was pretty filling. When I asked the waiter to ensure that the appetizer was not on the bill, he complied but was pretty stoic and non-apologetic. And not a word when he handed me the bill. My friends recommended the beef pot to me and I'm glad that I tried it because it was really good! My family loves boiling point and we've been fans with boiling point since we first tried it in Irvine so we were excited to try this location. It wasn't as busy as the one in Irvine which was nice and it looked fairly new/clean. We got the Korean bean paste without the crown daisy and it was delicious and very comparable to the original location in Irvine. I highly recommend using their sauces because it is what makes the soup even better. The service was good as well. They asked us at least 4 times if we wanted refills on water or needed anything which we really appreciated. I recommend downloading the app so you can get points if you plan to come back! It was a rainy, freezing winter day when my friend and I came here to catch up over lunch, and since I've never tried Boiling Point, we came here. Straight from the start, I wanted to try the Taiwanese Spicy pot. Taiwanese Spicy is only available at the maximum spiciness level (Flaming), and is $18.46 for lunch (man, so expensive!). It includes cabbage, instant noodle, tempura, clam, sliced beef, enoki mushroom, cuttlefish ring, fuzhou fish ball, pork intestine, fried taro, maitake mushroom, fried tofu skin, iced tofu, green onion, and cilantro. We also ordered stinky tofu, and I got an add on of spinach noodles. I was surprised that the spinach noodles came in a package, like instant noodles. The stinky tofu was absolutely delicious. The Taiwanese Spicy was extremely spicy, they definitely weren't playing around with the spice level here! I ate all my noodles, all the proteins, and tried to eat as much of the cabbage as I could, but it was so spicy, I ended up leaving all the broth and some of the cabbage behind because I couldn't finish it. The personal hotpot concept is a bit gimmicky and the fact that it's precooked makes it not quite as fresh or delicious as the usual hotpot where you cook everything yourself. Specifically, it felt like everything became over cooked and soggy by the time I could eat it. I was racing to take all of the meat out of the pot so it wouldn't overcook. And even then it ended up being tough and chewy. The ingredients also did not seem super high quality and the meat was sliced pretty thick which also made it tough. The portion size is good however I felt like I got filled up on tofu, fish cake, bean curd, etc rather than the things I actually like (enoki, veggies, meat). Overall, I was just disappointed in the experience. The menu all sounded good and in theory personal hotpots sound like a good idea... however it was poorly executed. I can definitely see the weather being a little cold if you're eating outside, however, the hot pot will warm you up! And...if you go during lunch, you get a cup of green or black tea. Ordered Delivery. The soups were stacked inside a plastic bag that was double knotted. The lid of the soup caved in while in the trunk of the dasher and spilled soup everywhere. By the time it got to us, all three containers of soup were on their side. The two smaller containers so has their soup but the soup from the Taiwanese hot pot was all gone. Please put something stiff under each container like a piece of cardboard and make sure to put it in the middle of the plastic bags during packing. So I finally got the chance to come back and actually try the food. Second time was definitely the charm... To my surprise there was no wait and our party was seated immediately. SCORE!! My order consisted of the Garlic Pork Belly & Beef Hotpot. Food was surprisingly really good. The pot was not riddled with cheap fillers or an obnoxious amount of cabbage like some other locations. Flavoring was pretty ok but the sauces are flippen awesome- I had no idea what the ratio of things were but you really can't go wrong with adding a little bit of everything. Seating is a little tight imo but maybe that's just me being typically claustrophobic. When Boiling Point first opened up, it was nearly impossible to get a table quickly. The wait was always an hour and up. That deterred me from trying this place. 1+ year later, I finally walked in to test the waters... the hot boiling point waters, that is... get it?! Okay, lame. I must admit, the broth is a lot more tasty than Tasty Pot. That's the most important part, I think. I use to get steamy facials at these hot pot places but I learned to eat from the bowl of rice instead of eating directly out of the hot pot. No more steamy facials for me but I still do get a glow from eating hot pots :) read more
