Holy Hot Pot. My friend and I tried this place from a friend's recommendation and we were both blown away. I honestly don't understand why this place only has 3 stars. I got the Beef Hot Soup and my friend got the Lamb Hot Soup both with medium spice level and we both enjoyed them so much!! The broth was on point and even though you can't make any substitutions with this hot pot, I personally thought it came with the perfect amount of meat and veggies. The portion may look small, but it was actually very filling, especially since it's paired with the white rice that comes with the soup. The free drinks along with the dessert drink is such a nice touch. We left the place feeling SO satisfied and cannot wait to come back. We didn't have any problems with customer service. After a quick road trip to SLO and stuffing our face with Firestone Tritip, my GF and I were hungry yet again and decided to soothe our hungry bellies with some warm and delicious soup. I ordered the Milk Cream Curry which was very tasty. You may have heard that BP typically comes with a lot of cabbage and I can confirm that it does. But that's not really a bad thing since it soaks up all the flavor and there is still lots of meat and other toppings. So win win for me. My best comparison is Tasty Pot which are very similar to one another, but BP is about $2 more than TP. I think the broth tastes better and has just as much food, so I wouldn't drive away from BP just to save a few bucks. Overall, I am very pleased with the food, and even though it is pricey, it is delicious! Next time, I'd like to get the Beef soup because my GF's tasted amazing. I am not sure if the servers at this restaurant are seriously mistreated by their boss or not, but it does look to me that everyone who works there hold a very strong grudge and don't mind to pass on that resentment to the customers. I have never been to this place before, so when I went in, I asked a simple question about dine-in, but the server didn't seem to be pleased even though he didn't seem to be busy with anything at that moment, he just answered my question briefly and walked away quickly without looking back, even though I already mentioned I wanted to dine in. And then, without knowing whether he is going to prepare a table for me or doing other things, I stood there waiting, seeing a bunch of other servers walking around, at least three of them saw me standing right there, but none cared to even come forward or ask what I was doing, and again they were not at all tied up or serving other customers. It was not until about 2~3 minutes later when another server actually cared to came forward, and asked, then I said again that I wanted to dine in, and it was at this point that she finally mentioned I needed to sign in the waitlist on the ipad, which was located at the corner of the store. So why didn't the first server mention the wait list and why didn't the other servers do anything when they saw me (and some other people behind me) all standing there? (P.S. Gave BP a second chance and overall, experience was better than the first time we visited. There wasn't as much of a line as the previous time, and the hostess checked in with us to let us know we were just waiting on a table to be bussed before we could be seated. Food is quite decent. Price is a bit higher than some other places, like Tasty, but you get a decent portion size for the price. We had like half a container of leftovers. You can only get rice as a side, no option for vermicelli, so that's too bad. Again, free regular tea as a side at lunch but not at dinner. The fire for the hot pot was a bit too strong, as I got a few sparks near my face and that was unpleasant. Service was alright. They barely gave us 2 minutes to look at the menu before coming to ask if we were ready, then it took quite some time to flag down another server when we were ready. After that, we didn't get any service until we asked for the check - they could have done better and at least come around to refill water. They seemed super understaffed despite not being terribly busy on a Sunday evening. For cleanliness: the tables and chairs are okay - could be cleaner, but manageable. The bathroom is ugh. BP is one of my favorite restaurants in Socal, but I have stopped visiting. Every now and then, I return here. We decided to grab lunch here on a Saturday at 2pm. Since it was nearing the end of lunch time, there wasn't as much of a wait and we were still able to get the lunch prices. With the raise in prices, dinner is definitely not worth it here. Neither are the larger pots either, so pick something between #1-8. For $13.75 for lunch (before 3pm), you get your choice of mini hot pots along with a green or black tea. I always get their black tea here; it's actually one of my favorite! Because I want to enjoy it, I usually save it to bring home and drink water instead with my meal. Also nice that they changed up their water cups into aluminum cups instead of tiny styrofoam ones. My go-to mini hotpot flavors are House Special and Beef. If you're new here, I'd stick to Beef as that's a classic. The dipping sauces is what makes BP so special. My secret ingredient is 4 scoops of chili bean sauce, 3 scoops of chili oil, 2 scoops of bean curd, and 1 scoop of garlic oil. The chili oil is spicy, so be careful with that one! Still one of my favorite go-to hotpot spots even though there's many other new favorites of mine now to try. But when all goes wrong, you can't fail with BP. Though there are an array of Hot Pot places around the area, Boiling Point has always been one of my favorite styles of hot pot of mine. I love the way Taiwanese food tastes! As usual, there was a wait for dinner which you have to grab a number for and if you are as unfortunate as I was, you'll be standing outside when the air in the Fremont/Milpitas area is particularly bad. After being seated we had our orders taken, I opted for the Seafood Tofu Hot Pot. The hot pot comes with: taiwanese bok choy, rice noodles, shrimp, fish balls, tofu, sliced pork, clam and baby octopus. I love the flavors of this hot pot with their house bean sauce and can eat that bean sauce with just steamed rice if I had to. More about the hot pot, the broth is very good- if it doesn't evaporate by the time you get to it. Also, there is way more veggies in the pot than meat which is a let down. So be expected to be filled up by the bok choy and greens. Meals can be upgraded to get rice and a tea, the tea is super refreshing. I chose the black iced tea. I enjoy how the pot doesn't get too hot, too fast which doesn't rush you when you're eating. However, if you wish to put the flame out you can easily flag a server down to do so. Service here was okay, which was understandable by their busy evening. We had to ask for the check after sitting there with finished hot pots for a while. Recently, we also decided to order for takeout to see how it would compare. Getting There: Located in a plaza on the corner of Mission and Warm Springs. Lots of parking but can get crowded during dinner times, especially on the weekend. Food: Most of the items here are on the spicier side, though you can ask them to dial it back. I usually order the Beef Hot Soup which contains napa, vermicelli, fish cake, fried tofu, imitation crab and others. It comes with your side of rice or noodles - I usually go rice just for balance but that's just a personal preference. As for spice level, I go medium or medium hot. The taste is great and it is a perfect pick-me-up after a long week. The taste for the takeout is similar assuming you eat it relatively quickly so it doesn't cool. It is a bit spicier because there is less broth. However, obviously there is no personal fire so you do miss out on that key experience. So if you are super dying for that taste, takeout is an option but not quite the same experience Final Say (tl;dr): Delicious personal hot pot and perfect for relaxing with friends and family. They sell their sauces in a jar or bag, which is neat since I think BP's shining point are their sauces. Their hotpot items suck. They overload it with filler ingredients like napa cabbage, mustard greens and the vermicelli noodles. Their soup broth is good though. Try to order via online services like doordash. When I called to order, they misheard me and doubled up on my order. The girl taking my order sounded confused the entire time and didn't really make sense on the phone. When confirming the order back to each over via call, she said that I was ordering one beef and one lamb. I corrected her and said no, just one lamb hotpot. I go inside and the volume of the music is insanely loud. and i see my order on the counter with two lamb hot pots... She then argued with me saying i told her two orders... A table for three wasn't too difficult to acquire on Friday at 6:30. The waiting list is on a tablet and prints out your number! Their policy is all members of your party must be present for seating. Even ramen doesn't fill me up because it lacks enough protein. I ordered the Japanese Miso hot soup mild spice with thinly sliced beef, thin tofu, fish filet, crab, two kinds of mushrooms, udon, and so much cabbage. It had a filled fishball too! No wonder it was so squishy. Out of the four sauces provided at the table, I liked the garlic soy paste the best for dipping my beef. Be careful with the boiling soup! I couldn't wait to start eating and burned the roof of my mouth. They bring out the individual square hot pots with your soup up top and light the bottom. Boiling Point? More like boiling cabbage. I was shocked when I saw my cousin's side plate piled high with cabbage. She dug out all the cabbage and put it on the side. She barely had any food in her soup other than cabbage. Our group of seven adults tried a variety of hot soups including Beef Hot Soup $13.99, Thai Fusion $17.99, Japanese Miso $17.99, and House Special $13.99. While they did have some spice, especially the ones we ordered as medium spicy - the flavor of the broth was very meh. When you see the pictures it looks like there's a ton of meat and good veggies. But in reality all the meat is a thin layer on top with a ton of sliced cabbage on the bottom. Maybe I'm not familiar with Taiwanese soups. I'm not looking for salty broth, but I feel like the soups are missing something. I was craving hot pot for sometime and was finally able to satisfy this craving with a friend over dinner. We stopped by on a Saturday around 7pm. They were busy but not packed. We were able to get seated right away. I ordered the Beef Hot Soup (~$17) with the mild spice level. Unfortunately, you can't make any substitutions, you can only take things out. So I took out the pork meatball since I don't eat pork. My hot soup was served with a bowl of White Rice. The sliced angus beef was delicious. It went well with the firm tofu, fried tofu skin, and tempura. I'm also a big fan of the corn they put in here. All the ingredients were great but my soup was definitely spicier than the mild that I asked for. Additionally, my friend's soup was less spicy than she asked for. So, they might have accidentally switched the orders. Luckily, you can ask for more broth to make the spiciness less concentrated. Their sauces are also pretty good! I recommend trying them all and then mixing them up to find that right sauce that works for you. When we were finishing up, they handed us this cup of purplish tea with chia seeds in it. I love hot pot, any kind. This style is Taiwanese hotpot. It is served with individual hotspots versus shared. Today I ordered the miso medium spicy. It comes out boiling and they light the fire underneath the mini wok/pot to keep it boiling. Firstly, the medium spicy is more of a mild level. The food looks like a lot, but it's mostly napa cabbage with very little meat. They only gave me one fishball and one slice of fish. I also asked if I can sub the udon with vermicelli noodles and they told me that I can remove the udon, but will need to pay extra for the vermicelli. I think the cost of vermicelli is much less than the cost of udon in the supermarket, so I cannot understand why they will charge me for replacing an item with lower cost. Makes no sense. The soup was just okay, nothing special about it. If I'm in the neighborhood and it's the only hotpot place open, I might go, but there are way better options close by. read more

Sometimes, you have to park on the other side of the lot because there's so many businesses in the same area. Everyone greets you when you walk in. At times it can be startling because all of a sudden a bunch of people yell what I believe is, "WELCOME!" The hosts and servers are really nice. I've never had any problems or complaints since I've been going here from the time they opened-- I started going here since their soft opening! I've tried their beef, Thai fusion, and Japanese miso. Japanese miso is my all time favorite! I always get flaming spicy, yet its still not spicy enough. I add quail eggs, fish cake, and fish tofu. Everything just goes together perfectly. On a Friday night around 9pm we waited about 20 minutes. You check in to the screen and receive a text when your table is ready. Place is nice and modern and has a decent amount of seating. My husband and I both ordered the Beef $16 which had our favorite hot pot ingredients: beef, enoki mushrooms, tomato, meatballs, imitation crab, corn, tempura, cilantro. I got medium and he ordered hot both were a good level of spicy. Our hot pots were served to us fairly fast. The broth could be more flavorful IMO but it wasn't bad. My favorite part about this place is the sauces! Which are available on each table. Garlic bean paste, garlic soy, beancurd paste, chilli oil. All four were on hit so I mixed them together for a flavorful ass concoction. A great option if you are craving for hot pot but don't want to go all out for AYCE. I've been to other locations and this one has the friendliest staff and the food is more consistent. My go to order is the Lamb flavor in Medium spice. If you're not a fan of lamb Beef is the most popular out of the menu. Most items here are good, but the seafood hot pot is not as good because they don't give much food in it. The Thai hot pot has a lot more food and has seafood in it too. The drinks here are also surprisingly good for a place that mainly serves food. I swore to never come to BP again because of the intense lines and under rated bowls, but it was a farewell dinner for my friend who wanted to get it. We came around 6:30 pm. They upgraded their waiting list system with a machine- you select your party size, grab a ticket and wait to be called. Only thing is, if you don't choose the mobile system (aka put in your phone number), you will miss your number when they call you if you and your party at not there! We had to be placed at the large family table of 8 (aka we split/shared tables with two other families). They did ask us beforehand, but be prepared to share if you don't want to wait. There were also 2 egg..yay for me! -1 cup of Hokkaido milk tea // Big cup, $4.50 before pearls. Pretty good! -1 side order of sliced lamb // Yum! I like lamb, and the heavy garlic and soy sauce was good. Pros: +Pretty big portion sizes. More ingredients than before! It seems pointless to upgrade in my opinion since the bigger pot is actually really shallow. +Decent prices. You do get a nice bowl of rice with your pot. If you do attempt to finish everything, you should be satisfied. +Less MSG than before! Didn't leave this place dying for a gallon of water. Cons: -Side orders are kind of pricey. They do add up, so be mindful! -Meh service. Whatever happened to the beautiful unison of 歡迎光臨？ Tips/Observations: -Not sure if it happens to everyone, but you get a free lemonade/chia drink at the end to cleanse your palette! -parking is plentiful but you may have to park further towards 99 ranch if you come during peak hours. -Add in their 豆瓣醬 (fermented bean curd sauce) and soy sauce! Yum! I'm a fan. I went on a Saturday around 1pm. There were around 7 people in front of us which was a 30-45 minute wait. You come in and put yourself on their digital waitlist. They text you when your table is about to be ready so you can roam around and do what you want. Once we sat down, we ordered the lamb hot pot which was around $14.30. It comes with free green or black tea during lunch time. The green tea was refreshing and good - not overwhelmingly sweet. The hotpot was one of the better ones I had! I tried the same exact one in Sac but this one was more tasty and seemed to had more additions like the pickled cabbage in it. Soup was savory, a hint of sweetness - was just delicious!!
