There used to a lovely older couple running the store that knew what they were selling, how to fit the children and what might be required. They knew the dance studios and who runs them. I went here trying to get a leotard for my first dance class and i wound up wasting sooo much time. The gate remained closed for over two hours even though the note said they would return in a few mins. I even called a bunch of times while standing outside the gate and i could hear the phone ringing from inside and noone answered. I was very disappointed and i definitely do not recommend. I thought it was very unprofessional. Every other store was open around it only this one was closed. I even left and came back and the gate was still down. The hours said they were open as well. Absolutely the best place to go for dance shoes. Elijah is absolutely fantastic! He can take a look at your dancer's foot and find the PERFECT shoe for them. We've been to fittings at other places, and Body Language is the BEST. Not only is Elijah an expert at what he does, but he is also wonderful to work with. We travel a bit to get here and it is worth it. We won't go anywhere else. I see some reviews saying the shop was closed when they arrived. We've never had that happen, but keep in mind, this is a small business, not part of a chain of stores with tons of employees. If that concerns you, I'd recommend calling the day before to check hours, or call before you head over. And if you want the best dance shoe fitting for your dancer, check to make sure Elijah will be there. read more

Very very accommodating! Very nice guy. Good quality dance wear too! My daughter got the last pair of the cheer long sleeves and It was too small for her. We didnt have the choice but to buy it since she needed it by tomorrow. The guy said there was a "pick up order" but never got picked. So he was like i wish I can give this to you but I cant I have to make a call to the customer if she still need it then I'll give you a call. Anyways long story the lady was like oh I already bought one and I dont need the one you have at the store so he called me ASAP and gave my daughter the long sleeve that fits her perfectly. The store owner has been doing this a long time and is extremely helpful/knowledgeable. My 2yo started dance and I know absolutely nothing about dance or what is needed. He steered me in the right direction without being pushy. We will definitely be back to that store. For everyone complaining about store hours, his wife is sick. The man who works here, is extremely knowledgable, kind, and lovely to work with. He asked a few questions, and was able to get us out with exactly what we needed. Visited this location yesterday, "first time in" as we are from out of state. Noticed they had a good selection of dance apparel & gymnastic apparel. Offering a 20% off discount-some prices did see a little high on things; but good quality. They do have a return policy in place as well. Keep your receipt and yellow card ( they will give you after your purchase) after so many purchases ( can't remember off hand: but think it's approx. 10) you get an additional savings bonus off merchandise. Have them explain it to you! Owners are pleasant & knowledgeable. We were introduced to Sue ( Husband & Wife Team) she was so sweet and kind. BEST customer service we have received in a very long time. Ended up buying a cute gymnastic t-shirt. Little pricey even with the 20% off but my daughter can enjoy it as a gift from AZ to show all her friends when she gets back home! We will be back to this location again in the future. Bought a pair of ballet slippers and didn't know the price of them till I went to go pay and didn't know how expensive they were going to be. After we bought them we went to go check Payless for a better deal. The prices were way cheaper than this store. After we checked we went to go return them but they care didn't to let us know from the beginning that there is NO REFUND ONLY STORE CREDIT. Went in to get ballet clothes for my daughter. First time in a dance class for her. Sue is the owner I believe and she was the nicest and most helpful person. She gave discounts for the specific dance school my daughter is enrolled in and was trying to find ways for us to save money since Dancewear is not cheap. I don't know how the prices compare but the materials were all good quality and she had a nice selection. This will be our go to for dance clothes. read more

I went to Body Language 9/13/17 to purchase my daughter a pair of character shoes. I called ahead of time and the person I spoke with over the phone was very helpful. She verified that they had the style shoe I was looking for and even advised me of a discount that was offered to students at my daughters school. When I arrived at the store I was greeted warmly and helped promptly. I didn't bring my daughter with me when I went to the store. But the saleswoman who assisted me advised,that if the shoes didn't fit my daughter to call her,and would stay open later so I could exchange them. But luckily they fit her perfectly.My only regret about my experience is I can remember the names of the woman who assisted me with my purchase. read more

Extremely displeased with this store! Called in to ask for a specific shoe and brand, I was very specific as to what I was looking for. The employee that answered told me they had it and would put it on hold. When I got to the store the shoe was not only a different brand, but also style and size! They didn't even have what I needed in store! I now have to wait another day to continue calling around to other stores for this shoe! This location is not near my house and I would not have wasted my day nor the time driving, had the employee not told me they had what I needed! very small store but has everything you would need. I recently decided to take tap dancing after a 53 year hiatus, husband and wife owners knew exactly what I needed plus gave me reasons why these particular shoes would be suitable for me. Bought a few things for the grandkids, clothing is so cute, I am sure my 6 yr old will love the "sports bra" for when she plays soccer, apparently the new clothing item for 6-7 yr olds. definitely recommend added bonus is the mall which has every store imaginable, one stop shopping. read more

I did find a ballet slipper I liked for my daughter here a while back but prices are sometimes double compared to normal retail price. I went back to get a size bigger in her ballet slippers. I tried to trust their knowledge and when I said what size we had and she probably should go at least a half size up he ended up having her try on a size that looked too big for her but I was assuming it was the 13.5 I told him would be the half size up. He then said there was Bloch that might fit better. I did not like the fit so we were back to the Danshuz canvas that she already had and he went back to that big size. I just assumed that was the 13.5 and it was just a bit too big. We ended up with it since it seemed like I had no choice or go back to the 13 she already had which I mentioned and he said oh that would be too small. After we pay and leave I look at the slippers in the car and I see it's a size 2. Two sizes up from what she had!!! Why did he not have her try on at least the size 1. The 2 was the last 2 size he had because I wanted a pair that wasn't dirty, so was it just a scheme to get rid of the 2!! It doesn't make sense. I should have checked but of course this is their profession and I trusted they knew how to fit shoes. I ended up having to buy the correct size off of discount dance online for still $10 cheaper even paying for shipping. I'll just keep the size 2 for when she is older. The new pair won't be here in time for her intensive but at least she will get the correct size. I will not be back. Online shopping it will have to be. read more

My first and definitely last time shopping at this store! The clerk picked out and sold me ballet tights for my 2 year old, in a size s/m (which is meant to fit a 4 to 7 year old). When I went back 5 minutes after purchasing them, I wanted to return them because they were the wrong size and I didn't want them. I was told by the two young women working that they will not make a return, but I could exchange them. They also tried to convince me that they sold me the proper size for my child, when I know they didn't because I had purchased the same band of tights (online) the year before for my older daughter who was 4 at the time, and they were huge on her. When I asked to talk to a manager, I was informed that a manager was not in but would not be able to help me anyway because that is their store policy and nothing would be done. When I asked further why they wouldn't have just sold me XS in the tights, they told me that they didn't have it in stock, but they could exchange the convertible tights I was sold for the proper size in a different tight. WHAT?!? I was astounded to say the least. The clerk sold me the most expensive tights they sold in a size larger than I needed and then refused to return them only to tell me that they in fact did have the size and tight I asked for in the first place! I have never had such an absolutely horrible experience in a store in my entire life. If you need dance clothes, order online, go to another store, whatever you do; do yourself a favor and skip shopping at Body Language Dance Store in Chandler Mall. read more
