What I appreciated most about the service was that he was very meticulous about checking every little thing. I was refered by a friend to Bodensteiner Service, and they came out after I noticed one of my A/C units seemed to be blowing hot air on one of our 100 degree days. I bought my house about 6 months ago, and wasn't totally sure what I got myself into on the HVAC side. The technician was absolutely top-notch, and did a through check of both of my units, cleaning the drain lines. Turned out, one of the units just needed some more coolant. But even if I had needed more work, I was left confident that I would get an honest assessment and a fair quote. We had previously used a plumbing/heating and cooling company in our neighborhood that burned us before. When our heat went out on a Thursday on one of those very cold early December days, we again called that company. They sent someone out who "jiggled" a part, which got the heat working, and we were told we'd eventually have to have the part repaired. . Well, our heat went out again on Friday night, then when I called the company on Saturday morning, I was told it couldn't be repaired until Monday. It was freezing, and we have a young child whose lips were turning blue in the cold, so we had to go two more nights without heat. Never again with this company I thought, and I reached out to a friend who had her entire HVAC system repaired a couple of years back. She recommended Bodensteiner. The woman who answered the phone was super helpful and explained that the pet couldn't be purchased until Monday morning because the company that makes our furnace was closed on the weekend. She helped us figure out how to find our warranty information and assured me that a technician would come out first thing on Monday morning. They did come out first thing wearing a mask and taking COVID precautions very seriously. The furnace was fixed within an hour at a fraction of the price the first company quoted us at. Bodensteiner is a small family owned company, and they really deliver on customer service and speedy repairs. I could not be more ecstatic with the service done by Hank today. He was amazing. We realized we were having an hvac issue and had another company come out and quote $5k to replace our damper motors. I didn't know those were a thing until this week. Because of the location of our damper motors they said they would need to remove our a/c unit, possibly the furnace, etc. then do the work then put it all back?! Oh and they needed to special order the parts. Hank arrived, took a look, and replaced those damper motors! And it's wasn't anywhere near $5k! And the parts were on his truck. Our AC coil froze and we contacted the installer since the equipment was still under warranty. Without even coming out to check the system they recommend that the coil be replaced...and the service would cost $1900. I immediately called Bodensteiner Service who came out and determined that that coil did not need replacement. I cannot thank Bodensteiner Services enough for fixing my AC unit! My A/C went out yesterday, Tuesday October 10th. Due to the Yelp reviews, I called a different company that showed up at the top of the Yelp list to determine what was wrong. They were great about getting me an appointment within a couple of hours and the service technician was very courteous. However, very quick into the visit, the technician brought my capacitor to me and said that the problem was probably the capacitor. He informed me of the price and I gave him permission to change it out. Shortly after, he came back inside and informed me that unfortunately it wasn't the capacitor it was the compressor. The cost to replace the compressor and coils would be $5,100. At this point, I told them that I needed to get a second opinion. This morning I received the invoice for yesterday's services, now stating the estimate to replace the compressor was $5,400. I then call Bodensteiner Services as they were provided to me by a trusted friend in the building industry. The owner was kind enough to come over late this afternoon. He looked at it and given the fan wasn't working also came to same conclusion that it was the capacitor. He went to his truck, grabbed the part, installed it and viola, my AC unit was fixed for $220. I'm going to schedule an appointment with Bodensteiner's tomorrow to come over and clean the unit which was repaired today and confirm that the service I paid yesterday to another company to perform was actually completed. Yes, this might have been an honest mistake, however given that I stood and watched this evenings repair happen real time I find it even more difficult to believe that yesterday's event was purely preying on someone and upselling a service that wasn't' needed by $5,200. Finding a company you can trust and treats you fairly is hard to find and I'm thankful that I can now depend on Bodensteiner Service for my AC maintenance and peace of mind. read more

We had a leaking evaporator coil and contacted several companies for quotes. Bodensteiner Service was very responsive and when I told them that the coil was replaced fairly recently in 2013, they went out of their way to contact the manufacturer to confirm if it's still under warranty. In the end, they managed to obtain an all aluminum coil from the manufacturer to replace our leaking copper coil (aluminum coil is much better than copper), which I appreciate very much. Their service was great when they performed the actual replacement work. Hank and Aaron were both very professional and gladly answered all the dumb questions I had as they were doing their work (I wanted to learn a bit myself). I thought the work was going to take a whole day, but they got it done properly in under 3 hours. Thanks to their efforts on figuring out the warranty, I only paid for the labor and gas to refrigerant to charge the system, which was very reasonable. Would I use them again? I've used these guys twice and find them to be excellent. I've dealt with Hank both times. The first time was when I called him after another service told me I needed a whole new system after my carbon monoxide detector went off the first time I turned on the heater that year. Hank said the system was fine and it was probably just dust from non-use over the summer. That proved to be true. The second time was this week when the AC quit cooling. I called Bodensteiner at 7 a.m. and the office called back at 7:30 and said she'd get someone out that day. Hank called about 2 hours later and said he was on the way. He said the compressor unit needed a new capacitor and it was fixed and he was on his way by 10. Cost $165. I wouldn't use anyone else. read more

Had a small gas leak in my heater that needed to be fixed so I had these guys come out. I previously had two other AC companies come by and take a look and my gut told me they weren't shooting straight with me. Hank replaced a part to fix the gas leak and noticed that there could be a carbon monoxide leak as well. It turned out the unit was leaking carbon monoxide.
