Cuban
Giselle G.

I came her for brunch and it was ok. It was not my favorite place. So first it was a Sunday after a half marathon. There were a lot tables and only one person to a lot of tables both in the front and back. The bartender was helping so that was good. The service was good and between both employees it worked well. The food was ok; I ordered the Cuban which was big enough to be shared. The Cuban was ok nothing memorable. I also ordered a mojito and that was ok but it lacked enough sweet and the like coconut mojitos to have the coconut cream for the consistency. The ambiance was nice, music and fun. I would not return, while the food was ok; it was not memorable. Other people eating were quite happy so it can be me. I would definitely recommend you try it for yourself. I would say the tv for each table is a good touch.

Such an excellent place. This place is a sports bar with multiple tvs located throughout the restaurant. The food is surprising delicious. 10 out of 10 I would recommend. I had the shrimp tacos and the nachos with beef. The flavors were so authentic and delicious.

Delicious food and great service. The place has an outside seating area with around five tables. The inside is spacious and cozy. There is also a bar space, some high-top tables, and booths. The booths each have their TV. Pretty cool, huh? By the way, did you know they have an awesome lunch menu? This place is a hidden gem. I ordered the comida familiar with the meat. Also had a margarita from the happy hour, which was done to perfection by German. Ok, the comida familiar should be anyone's go-to. The meat was so tender, juicy, and tasty. Beans were great but let's talk about the salad. The salad was an artwork. All the flavors were curated to perfection. German was also my waiter and he was spectacular. He was very attentive from the moment I walked in. He did the right amount of checking in on me. Lol awesome service, def will be visiting again.

Best HH in the UWS! $5.75/beer, $6.25/wine and $8.25 well drinks and some cocktails and this goes until 7 pm (on a Saturday). The bartenders are nice and accommodating. This is more a sport bar vibe but a nice one! Def my go to from now on.

So I'm kind of on the fence about this place. I've had high hopes, and in an area where Mexican and happy hours are lacking, this checks both boxes. But it's still not enough for me to go back. I'm just underwhelmed. I do have to say it's pretty much party central when I walk past it, so maybe it's a me thing, The food is just okay. I've gone for brunch a few times. The problem is, I don't even remember what I've gotten there. That's an issue. And probably why I'm like meh on it. Their margaritas were pretty choice. And I remember asking to have the Mets game on once, and in a city that's unfriendly to them, they let me watch haha. So that's a star right there!

Jose, was our waiter excellent services. Thank you, so much for your suggestions. My salad with the steak was so delicious, I want to go back for lunch. For dessert we had the Churros. I couldn't stop eating them everything was very fresh and delicious. Prices very reasonable don't walk run . Tables outside when you walk in towards the left side another room plus the main room. Thank you, for amazing service and delicious drinks, food and dessert. I will be back soon!

Is this a good spot for drinks for a group of 10 on a Saturday night at around 7? (Bachelor party)

It can absolutely be that, just make sure that you speak with someone from the restaurant to make sure it happens the way you want.

We came at opening on a Friday night. The bartender was friendly and welcoming. Our server was great. Waiting was never an issue even as more people arrived, along with a second bartender. Maybe they worked out the kinks other people mentioned. Drinks were excellent. I enjoyed my lavender haze and kir royale. My husband enjoyed his French 75, and we especially liked his smoked Belvedere. Food was amazing. My husband enjoyed his sliders, and my truffle honey grilled cheese was out of this world. Now I'm desperately seeking fontina cheese at the grocery store to try and recreate the dish at home. The truffle fries were crispy and not overly oily. The venue is beautiful. Fun being nosy and hearing conversations between locals, including some theater people.

How could I not love a place with the name, Scarlet Lounge?…read more It takes a lot to get me to venture to this part of town and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a night out on the Upper West Side, but Scarlet has been on my list since I saw owner, Michael Imperioli's announcing the opening on Instagram. I found myself in the area on recent Friday evening and decided to meet up with two friends here. I was smitten at first sight of the beautifully-appointed room, with seductive red drapery and gold accents. All I wanted to do was curl up on one of the velvet chairs and spend my entire evening captivated by imagined past lives of this space... Dorothy Parker holding court here with her Vicious Circle, sipping on Gibsons and martinis. You're going to have a glorious time. We were welcomed by a dashing gentleman at the door who kindly found us seating in the sultry little nook by the piano. Our server never left us wanting for anything and believe me, we wanted it all. Cocktail names are well-priced, especially for Manhattan. I kept to a decent bubbly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time here.

Usually that would mean that service is faster as the staff are walking out of the kitchen, but the service here was unbearably slow. We had to crane our heads to get our orders taken, to find someone to give us our bill, and to ask about our order. We ordered a drink (the second drink was sold out and my friend was uninterested in other options) and two appetizers and the drink came first, followed by a twenty minute wait for calamari. The calamari was probably the thinnest squid in the ocean and looked like shoestring fries, but the sauce it came in was delicious. There were approximately three zucchini sticks and four peppers in the calamari, which is on par with many restaurants, but less bang for your buck. It eventually became clear after another 10 min wait that our truffle fries were nowhere to be seen, and since we had to leave for our dinner reservation soon we struggled to flag a server, who then told us that they never put in our fries order. We obviously did not ask them to start making it for us, instead asking for the bill and then leaving. I wish I liked this place more than I did, but the service and staff here were so slow and hard to flag down it felt like we spent our entire meal looking around.

I especially loved that the staff had matching costumes inspired by Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! The manager, who has been working there for years, mentioned that she came up with the theme, and I have to say it was such a creative touch. Despite how hectic the night was, she was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, allowing my three friends to sit at a table until the next reservation arrived. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and patient, even with the constant rush of people trying to get in. I truly believe the manager deserves recognition, if not a raise, for the way she handled such a chaotic evening. Managing a busy Halloween crowd is no easy task, but she did it with grace, charm, and genuine hospitality. Thank you for making my Halloween night so lovely! It's the kind of customer service that makes people want to come back. I'll definitely be returning and the drinks were delicious!
