a slice of pizza on a paper plate
    Ian C.

when I'm craving for pizza, I always go to Bocconcini because I think they offer one of the best Neopolitan pizzas in the city. Their homemade Italian pizza sauce is the reason why I constantly kept revisit them for more slices. The sauce itself is rich, sour, and fresh at the same time. In which, it is perfect on a pizza. Also, their large cheese or pepperoni pizza is only 10 dollars after tax!

After my dissatisfying visit of just a little over a year ago, I was recently invited back by the owner of this establishment to give their pizza another try. Just judging from their display alone when I walked in, the pizza already looked significantly better than the one I had last year on their grand opening day. The slices looked fresh, cheesy, not too greasy, and was loaded with a bunch of toppings! I ordered the deluxe slice (which was a gigantic slice) and they gave me a homemade garlic dip on the house. Everything was delicious! Large pieces of mushroom, sweet peppers, and onions over a bed of pepperoni and sausage embedded in melted cheese.. yum! The pricing was very fair and I would definitely consider coming back for a quick bite between classes. For comparable prices, the pizza here is much better than Pizza Pizza. They have more toppings, larger slices, are less greasy, and although the crust is more thin, it definitely didn't taste like cardboard!

The best place for huge slice and a beer. Prices are good and seating is nice. Open pretty late too!

Great pizza slices, and good value for money. I especially love the Bocconcini slice, it has the perfect texture, and tastes great!

This is a wine bar - the house lager was bad (maybe my own bad decision) and the red I got was fine ... nothing to write home about. However place fell apart with the food - the shrimp came with 5 medium sized shrimp with the tails, legs and shells on and were under seasoned. The artichokes were mediocre (loved the sauce they came with). Worst of all was the "Ontario peaches" with the burrata were totally canned peaches - could've even been dole brand! This place has amazing potential with the location and vibe - but the food just was not it. Small portions and the price didn't match what was served. The service was friendly but nothing too crazy. Go here for the drinks, but maybe not for the dinner!

Our server was great at helping us pick our wine, he mentioned that their wines are all on the dry side which is perfect for me, I'm not one for sweet wines. We also had two of their small plates the mussels and the burrata. The mussels tasted great with the sauce, a little garlicky which I prefer. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights. The only small complaint was it did take a while to get our wine after we ordered it and a little while to get our check. Otherwise cute spot.

Lots of decent beers on draft and they leave water bottle to refill your water cups, which I love. Service is bit slow. Had to sit at the bar since it was crowded at 6:30pm and still had to wait 30 mins. I normally don't eat at the bar, since bartenders are slower and busier with drink orders, but I was starving. Bartender only checked on us once, when food came out. Hard to get their attention too. Food, however, was amazing! Love the savory giant meatball and the rich San Marzano tomato-based marinara sauce, with dab of pesto and plenty of fresh basil. Loved the sauce was not too acidic and pasta cooked perfectly, not al dente. The focaccia bread comes with this rosemary garlic butter, and it was absolutely delicious on focaccia. The focaccia bread alone was just okay, not much rosemary or oil flavor, but I think the spread had all the flavor. Amazing and worth $6.

Food 3/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 3/5 Food: I came here for an event. There was a set menu with appetizers (salad, bread etc) most of it I couldn't eat due to food allergies. For the main dish we could choose from gnocchi, salad with salmon or another dish which I can't recall right now. Dessert was ice cream which I also couldn't eat. The gnocchi was very mediocre. I didn't enjoy it at all. I hadn't been here in years but I see their food quality hasn't gotten any better. I was starving by the time the main dish came out so I ate about a quarter of the dish. Then I took the rest of the gnocchi home. Service: The waitstaff were really nice but the service was not very organized. There was a lot of appetizers but I couldn't eat most of it. Which is strange because I gave my food allergies several days in advance of the meal. It took some time to get the main dish as well so the pacing didn't seem great. I looked around at the other tables & we got our main dishes last. I'm not sure if the kitchen was at fault or what. Ambiance: It's quite dark here even on the lunch hour. The decor is dark wood tones, red upholstered banquette seating & wooden tables & chairs. It's not a fancy place. I would not choose to eat here again. Last time I went was several years ago. Sadly I see they haven't gotten any better. There are other better Italian restaurants in this area.
