All around 5 star Italian spot! Great for a date night, celebrations of any kind or just a nice meal. The staff were very courteous and friendly. Food was timely, fresh, hot and delicious. We got a few different dishes that all hit the spot. This was my first time here and I can't wait to come back for more!

I think Bocca sets the standard for service for in the area. Their staff right from the hostess to the waitress to the food runner was kind and friendly. Offered suggestions and a customization for one in our party who can't have alcohol was able to make adjustments to accommodate. The food, fantastic, from the calamari (not pictured) the steaks to the desserts were cooked perfectly, food came out hot and great portions as well. The restaurant was clean, set up properly. The staff should be proud of themselves!

Another amazing meal. Sorry forgot to take pictures. Steak tips, filet minion and chicken parm. Everything was perfect and staff was very attentive. Place is always immaculate. This has to be the best value in the greater New Bedford area. For just a few fallers more per meal over a chain you get a true first class meal.

Bocca continues to be GREAT! We stopped by for an early dinner, got seated quickly, menus in hand, and ordered some drinks in a minute. We shared a garlicky shrimp appetizer, and I ordered Apple Roasted Salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. DELICIOUS!

We started with the calamari with spicy peppers and salsa rossa, which was delicious, well seasoned and very generous in portion. The Caesar salad with lemon-garlic dressing and a parmigiano crisp was perfectly balanced and fresh. The cacio e pepe arancini were a delightful surprise and quickly became a favorite at the table. For entrées, the scallops with risotto were outstanding. The Chicken Bosco and Chicken Francaise were both amazing: tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. For dessert, my mom loved the caramel apple cannoli, which paired perfectly with her cappuccino. It was an excellent meal from start to finish, with attentive service and great food. We'll definitely be back.

The zuppa toscana was flavorful but arrived a bit cold, which affected the texture. (Not necessarily their fault) but it paired well with the complimentary rosemary bread. It was so soft and easily the highlight of the meal, though the butter was quite salty. The chicken Milanese was cooked well, and the arugula and tomatoes were fresh, but the sweet, Italian dressing adjacent sauce didn't work for me. My fiancé ordered the pizza which was also just okay. We topped it with balsamic drizzle which elevated it. Overall, I wasn't very impressed and will likely stick to my usual spots, like Ma Raffa's, for Italian. They also forgot the silverware I requested, which wasn't a big deal but worth mentioning. All in all, I'm sure there are better things to order from here, but I wasn't wowed by anything I tried.

No issues with being seated or with having our drink order taken or house bread being offered right away. Just to skip more or less to the crux of the issue, it was about the details. Baked Penne with Meatballs Cheese Filled Ravioli Baked Lasagna The lasagna was as advertised and there was no real issue there. Good sized portion and the person who ordered that was very satisfied. The ravioli was presented in what I'll call a sauce rationed format. Small-ish swirl of sauce on the middle of the dish while everything not in the middle (give or take 65% of the portion) was raw dog dry. But mercifully, extra sauce was available, just in an odd format. Enter the penne. The penne itself were overcooked and the cheese on top was well beyond baked. More like a hardened helmet. The meatballs were served on a separate plate, and they came to the table, at best lukewarm but were swimming in a Buzzard's Bay of sauce that was dripping over the side of the plate on to the table. At the end of the day, the service was good and the food was sent out fairly fast. But with that said, one thing was more or less cold while its accompaniment was overcooked and another item was basically dry. If there is a next time, maybe we just skip entrees and go with the takeout pizza. That side of the restaurant had a steady flow of people coming in and out and seemed to be where the action was at. Note to file for the future.

We sat in the bar area, and it was cozy. I ordered the double lobster roll, hot and buttered, and he got his prime rib. When the food came out, my lobster roll was cold lobster with mayo and lettuce. I mentioned to the waitress that I ordered it hot and buttered, she said thy only do them cold. I told her I would have appreciated knowing that up front, when I literally said "hot and buttered". Had I known, I would've gotten something else entirely. She apologized for not hearing me (aka listening to my order), but I told her I would eat it as is. I cut the lobster roll in half. In one half, I got three pieces of shell. Three. The third of which I thought chipped a tooth. I sat in shock as I pulled out the shell and checked my tooth. We notified the waitress. She asked if I wanted to take the other half to go. I told her there were too many shells to risk it. She took it to her manager and he took 25% of the lobster roll off the bill. It truly felt like adding insult to injury. The manager didn't have the balls to come over and talk to us personally, coward move. We will not be returning. My boyfriend enjoyed his prime rib but we were so disappointed in the entire visit. Absolutely disappointing.

But upon tasting their food, it was clear, 'Viola' is just another Americanized Italian restaurant. We started with an a la carte order of: 'House made focaccia, roasted garlic spread, evoo, craft butter' This was fresh and tasty. We then shared the 'Caesar: traditional romaine hearts, foccaccia croutons, shaved pecorino cheese. classic caesar dressing.' This lacked any flavour, the romaine was cut into too small pieces, there was no hint of garlic or anchovy in the dressing. But the most disappointing dishes were the pasta dishes: 'Fettucini bolognese, house made, beef, pork, veal ragu, pecorino, basil, calabrian Chili.' 'Scampi viola, squid ink linguini, shrimp garlic, white wine, julienned vegetables, preserved lemon butter.' Although the pastas were freshly made, their textures were compromised; both pasta dishes were not 'al dente'. In fact the Scampi viola was drenched in a dark gravy and greasy. This is just not a very skilled preparation of pasta. A fresh pasta needs very little sauce, and should be dressed very simply so the 'textures' can be enjoyed. I ordered the: 'Zuppa di vongole: fresh little neck clams, vino biqnco, fresh herbs, crostini.' But this dish was replaced by a fried calamari dish. This was well prepared, actually the only star of the evening. This restaurant may succeed on its 'blandness' but will never attract the discerning diner who wants and appreciates authentic Italian cuisine. ~tiaotse~
