Ordered the bruschetta, Caesar with Salmon and another salad that I honestly can't even remember the name of....all very unmemorable.The salad greens in both salads were chopped and were yellow romaine. The other ingredients were hard to find in the salads as they were either chopped so fine or just really small portion sizes (salmon). The bruschetta bread was tasteless even with the slight char from the pizza oven. The tomato topping was watery and had no flavor and the balsamic drizzled on top was just a sticky mess. read more

I'm not one to leave a one-star review, but I am incredibly disappointed with my last experience. I have been here a couple times and had a reasonably good experience. The service is normally pretty good. The food quality is CONSISTENT and pretty good. I prefer food that's consistent because I know exactly what I'm getting every time - there's no good days and bad days. I got home from the restaurant over four hours ago and I'm still upset. I can't even recall the last time a restaurant made me feel this way. I came in with my mom and sat inside. Todd, our waiter came in and asked if we wanted any drinks. We kindly said we were starving and going straight to entrees. We gave him our order and he left without a word. Not a problem. We got our food and Todd quickly asked if we liked our food and we said "yes, thank you" even though I personally had yet to even take a bite. At this point I'm not too bothered, but I found it odd how short Todd is. This was the last time Todd voluntarily came to our table. We all have our good and bad days though. I quickly finished my meal while my company took a little longer. By the time we were both done, we spent about 20 minutes talking waiting for our check. That moment never came. I spent the next 10-15 minutes keeping an eye out looking for our waiter, but I hadn't seen him. Once I spotted him, I put my hand up and he came over. I asked for our check and a box for leftovers. He came back in a reasonable amount of time. I'm reaching for my wallet as he's coming, he puts down the bill, he can see me grabbing my card and walks away. No bother, he probably wants to come back for it. Although there's seemingly four or more waiters and under 12 tables to serve, this moment seemingly never comes. During our time here, the staff are all chilling behind the bar commingling with each other. Again, it's not busy at all and I don't expect the staff to remain on standby for one of twelve tables. But Todd you just left the check, you saw me grabbing my wallet and you've entirely disappeared for over 15 minutes. At max Todd has six tables, so it shouldn't be unreasonable to expect a check when I'm done, or to wait over 15 minutes for my check to be picked up. At this point I'm fuming. Not only have I thought about going to the front desk multiple times just to close out my meal, but I also have other obligations but I'm here burning over 45 minutes to close out my meal. I'm not confrontational, so I take my bill to the bar where everyone is mingling and drop it there. For whatever reason, my check is grabbed under five minutes later. It then takes at least an additional 10 additional minutes to get my check BACK. I had nothing to say to Todd when he finally wanted to bring my check back. There are still under 12 tables served and what looks like four waiters. Todd, I don't know what I did to you. You were short at the beginning and then purposely neglected my table. I don't know if it's because we didn't get drinks or appetizers, but I can't believe it took around an hour from when we were done eating to closing my check. I like the food here but will now be traveling to Novato if I ever want Boca. Ridiculous. read more

Boca Pizzeria is one of my go-to places when I can't figure out what I want to eat. I've never come here and not found something I thoroughly enjoyed. Plus it's a place I can bring the dog and have a beer while watching people walk by shopping. The Fennel Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza is awesome, it has a great tasting thin crust cooked in their wood fire. We'll usually split that with the Chopped Salad which is equally delicious. The Caesar Salad is also quite good. We've had the Nonna's Meatballs, good size and some of the best meatballs I've had from a restaurant in quite a while. The Braised Beef Short Ribs Pappardelle are one of my favorite dishes for dinner, super tender and tasty. My wife has had the Chicken Piccata and the Flat Iron Steak in the past and enjoyed those. My kids used to get the Fettuccini Alfredo or the Portobello and Porcini Mushroom Ravioli and I never heard a complaint. They have a good selection of beer and wine, and I understand their Happy Hour M-F 4-6 have 1/2 price items and cocktails for $6 so put that on your happy hour todo list. My wife and I love Boca! The mushroom polenta is incredible... So creamy! The pizza is top notch. I really enjoy the finnel sausage. And for dessert, do not pass on the apple tart. It's an okay of a place. I would only go here if I had no option left. The food is moderate and service is poor. The host was very nice which made our visit a little better. We came down here for an early Mother's Day dinner and there was no wait if we sat outside (amazing for Mother's day!) There were 10 of us (including 3 children) in our party and we were seated promptly and given water and menus. The outside area was pleasant, sheltered from the wind and plenty of outdoor heaters. The selections on the menu were really great- we ordered Homemade Garlic Flatbread, Caesar Salad, Boca Salad, Grilled Broccolini, Mashed Potatoes, Grilled Leg of Lamb, Margherita Pizza, Pear and Prosciutto Pizza, Mediterranean Pizza, and BBQ Chicken Pizza. Everything was so good that there were no leftovers by the time we were done eating! The service was pretty good; the waitress came back several times to remove plates and give us additional ones as needed. Juan our waiter was very nice & helpful w/ what kind of pizza my boyfriend & I might like to have. We ordered a mushroom pizza, as Juan suggested, because we wanted to add ingredients. We added: pesto, grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled zucchinis, and the cheese was Parmesan! No wonder I liked the cheese so much. LOL Our pizza ended up being so delicious!! So happy we got the ingredients we wanted. Plan to order multiple pizzas, if you have more than 2 people, because they only have one size. (This is the first time I had to experience this at a pizza restaurant.) The restaurant is quite spacious & the cooks are cooking in an open space, where you can see them. There's a huge bar area. Maybe it's full bar? Idk. I never ordered any drinks. They have a decent size outdoor seating for this restaurant too. Spacious as well. False advertising. Large sign out front says "Complimentary garlic bread with purchase", but the waiter insisted that is only for online purchase. One of four meals was completely wrong dish, and corrected version had a hair in it. Full disclosure: I hosted a Yelp event here last month. The owners kindly treated our Elite crew to a wonderful happy hour on their patio. It was lovely. But if you know anything about throwing events, you know that eating is something you easily forget to do. So although I hosted a number of hungry Yelpers, I never had a chance to sample their pizza/menu offerings for myself. Fortunately, I came in recently with a friend for a quick nosh (without my Yelp CM hat). And lemme tell ya, Boca Pizzeria still offers one of the best happy hours in Marin (no joke). Their food is just as solid as it was the first time I reviewed them a few years back. All their pizzas are authentic Neapolitan style (imported Italian tomatoes, fresh/homemade dough, quality cheese/toppings, etc.). My go-to is still their Pizza Margherita and their Fennel Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza. But if pizza ain't your thing, you should order up their Nonna's meatballs (best meatballs I've had in ages) and their Bruschetta 3-ways. And if you're more thirsty than hungry, take advantage of their $6 cocktail specials (Mon-Fri; 4-6pm). In fact, most of their happy hour specials are 1/2 price. So you can order a $16 pizza for $8, and a $12 cocktail for just 6 bucks. And those meatballs I was telling ya about are only $7 (and they're pretty much a meal in itself!). All in all, Boca Pizzeria continues to be one of the best kept happy hour secrets in town. Maybe it's time to spread the word! read more

It took almost TWO HOURS for the ice cold pizza to arrive from a location 10 minutes from my house and it was beyond mediocre - the crust was terrible and there was very little cheese. You call this Boca Pizzeria? More like Mal Gusto en La Boca!!! Meaning, bad taste in my mouth in Spanish. Once upon a time, we came across this establishment, yes located in a outdoor mall in Corte Madera and had dinner here and it was pretty decent. Fast forward to 6 months later... food and service was not so great. Not sure what changed, maybe a different owner.? I ordered my usual fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I mean I know this isn't a Michelin starred restaurant but the chicken was rubbery (is that a word? ), sauce was watered down with a hint of garlic but basically no flavor. It tasted fresher six months ago. The Calabrese pizza (spicy salami) was good, it has a good sauce too it. But if you asked for the $3.00 extra feta cheese it gets about 6 pieces of cheese that didn't even cover the whole pizza. What a rip off! I asked the waitress and she explained to me that is the amount they use for the extra $3.00. Really? I suggest go to Trader Joe's and buy a tub of feta cheese for less than $4 and you can put a little more than a measly six pieces of cheese on your pizza. I mean Feta cheese is not that expensive! Just a suggestion .. We also ordered two cocktails, the Bloody Orange w/ Tequila and Passion Slush w/ Vodka. Both were a little too sour but the Bloody Orange drink was better than the Passion Slush. Skip on the Passion one. The Bbq pizza was just ok nothing to rave about. But, our waitress only checked on us twice and didn't refill our waters. Plus, they had another employee eating on her break at another table and all the employees conversing in Spanish loudly, including our waitress. I used to work in a restaurant and we always took our breaks away from the public even if it was slow or not. Kinda a pet peeve with me. Plus, I saw most of the cocktails are made with tequila. Sure you get a choice of vodka in some of them but tequila cocktails in a supposedly Italian restaurant? Yeah, Olive Garden would have been much better than this. Oh and there prices went up and the quality and service went down. Nice! Skip this place, go next door to Cheesecake Factory, probably better tasting food and service. read more

First time back in awhile and it certainly didn't disappoint. The service was excellent and the food top notch. We had the polenta as an appetizer which was out of this world, the mushrooms put it over the top. I love Boca! It's my go-to restaurant in the afternoon for some yummy Brussel sprouts and a glass of white wine. The staff is super nice, and they have large booths and an outdoor patio. My partner has had the gnocchi which is a large portion, and we have had the pepperoni cheese pizza. Which was excellent. The staff is super nice, and I'm a little disturbed by some of the "racist" type reviews complaining the staff speaks Spanish in an "Italian" restaurant at Boca. Excuse me, but I don't think anyone speaks Italian at Boca, and does that mean only Chinese can serve at a Chinese restaurant, Korean at a Korean restaurant, etc.? People need to check themselves. This is a lovely restaurant, and if a staff member wants to speak to co-workers in Spanish or Swahili it's their prerogative. This is a restaurant in a MALL in Corte Madera and not some fine European dining experience! Go to North Beach to an Italian restaurant if you are looking for that authentic experience. read more

Great food and excellent atmosphere! I came here during a weeknight, after hitting up Nordstrom's after Christmas sales. I was hesitant to eat at a restaurant in a mall setting. If you know the location, there is also a Cheesecake Factory in the area. I feel like CF is overplayed so I decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated immediately upon arrival. One settled with our amazing server, Audric, we ordered our drinks and grub. Burrata: superb. Extremely soft, and very tasteful. There was an olive tapenade that was hiding underneath it too. I happen to be a huge kalamata Olive fan so I was a happy girl. Chicken piccata: perfection! Chicken was perfect, juicy and tender. The sauce was great, not overpowering on the lemon, and the capers gave it a very distinctive taste. The dinner vegetables on the side were also incredible, not overly cooked or mushy. I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes, but once I swiped my fork through them, I immediately fell in love. Fettuccine: my guest said the pasta and sauce was the best fettuccine Alfredo he had ever had. Presentation was nice too. *And now to the best part.... Dessert.* I love any sort of dessert with apples in it, as my family ran an apple cannery for years. Apple cake in a jar: a fun little spongecake with diced apples. Not too sweet and paired perfect with a glass of Prosecco. There was nothing negative about this dining experience, and our server was fantastic. We were very pleased with all aspects of our meal, and the way we were treated. What a bizarre situation. We literally just paid and left... We were greeted and accommodated by the nicest host. We asked her to seat us away from the door due to the cold and she seated us in what I believe is the bar area. Our waiter, Patrick, came over after a few minutes and asked for our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered waters, coffee, and a roasted artichoke starter. Around 10 minutes later, our artichoke arrives, which was brought to us by a blonde waitress. She asked if we had ordered drinks because we had yet to receive our drink order. We replied that yes we ordered waters and a coffee from Patrick. He then came by with two small plates for the artichoke. We told him we still were waiting for the coffee and waters. Moments later he came back with the coffee then left to grab the waters. When he came back with the waters, he grabbed our menus and left without saying a word. We were curious what would happen after this. We had not ordered dinner yet, but it appeared that Patrick was not coming back. We could see him standing in the bar area either zoning out or watching one of the many TVs. We even tried waving him and the other bartender down, but neither of them looked our way. We decided that he was not coming back to take our order, so we enjoyed our artichoke (delicious! More information below). We put down enough cash to cover the cost of our appetizer and coffee. Then we left and explained to the hostess the entire situation. She was very apologetic about the situation and promised us that she would tell the manager. This whole thing is so unfortunate since we are only in the Bay area for this weekend as a small vacation get-away. We had been excited to try a local favorite that we had been told about, but I guess we won't get the chance. We may have made a bigger issue about the situation, but we are too hungry to bother. Regardless of all of this, the roasted artichoke was amazing. It was a whole large artichoke cut in half with a side of roasted lemon and a dipping sauce. The artichoke was covered in a delicious seasoning that was perfect in spice. The artichoke was cooked to perfection and was even better with a squirt of lemon. Absolutely delicious.
