I usually shop at an all organic grocery store in Fairfax which we love and I give 12/10 stars to, but Nugget is in the rotation for when we need some items that our usual place doesn't carry. In that sense, it's a good clutch market for those items. The store itself is small but laid out well. I really like the produce that they have outside, it gives small town vibes. Where Nugget lacks is in customer service. I have yet to meet a friendly or happy looking employee. I feel like this is something I've noticed more lately. On my trip today, the man stocking the produce had his cart in the middle of the produce section, so there was really no way to get anything. I asked him if I could slip in and quickly grab a few things, and he made a really off putting comment about if I could see he was working, etc. Yikes. I've also been rung up before where the cashier just is on auto pilot, no hello, no small chit chat. Nugget, you carry things we like, and you're close to our home. Can you please give your employees some customer service training, or some reasons to feel joyful? TIA! read more

I love this store. the employees are always very nice and helpful. We volunteer at the marin humane and always go there afterwards. Their deli and bread selections are top notch. We also love their wine selection and the meat counter is the best. They have grass fed, and regular beef, chicken, and fish. They are also happy to select the best piece of fish or meat for you. I also love their bulk spices and bulk nuts and rice. And, they have a nice selection of coffee, and local bulk coffee. 100% recommended! read more

Cute local market that always has pretty decently stocked merchandise. You'll be greeted by fruits and flowers, perhaps walk past a few people sitting outside on the tables and chairs in front of the building. The parking lot is usually packed as it is shared amongst the other businesses. Holiday-themed treats and items next to the pre-packaged baked goodies. Grab a fresh squeezed juice, shot, or blended smoothie. The bakery had gorgeous fancy-looking whole cakes, slices of cheesecake, mini tea cakes, macarons, lava cakes, and more. There is a hot food bar, salad & soup bar, deli, pre-packaged food for those quick on-the-go with items such as burritos, chicken tenders w/ a side of ranch, side salads, larger salads, mini pizzas, half lox bagels, sandwiches, the list goes on. They even have an area where you can get sushi. I hear their sushi and sandwiches made to order are really good. They have quite the array of cheeses, side options like olives with feta or macaroni salad, potato salad, chicken salad, fruits and jams, easy to shop for special hosting events. This was only the area of Nugget Market I have been able to walk around and view. Their aisles look small, but they are well-stocked and not difficult trying to see what is on the shelf. During the lunch time rush, there have been more people inside where lines may form, however, other times in the mid-afternoon, I have not run into the issue of waiting at checkout. Manager Lexi Dess Alison Took my call when I was at home arranging to have some of that incredible clam chowder that I serve there. Whenever my daughter visits that chowder and the garlic bread are her 2 favorite things in the world and she gets what she wants. Miss Lexi His very customer service focused. I was impressed by her Ability to remember details as she remembered my call and reserved a couple quarts of the chowder for me. That was very thoughtful ever and the employees were aware that I was coming for it which was a plus. Walking around the store you know she spends a lot of time to detail on having everything look presentable clean clear aisles and stocked shelves. I didn't see any outs on the shelf at all. All the departments had very friendly approachable people willing to let you sample or look at the products. I always enjoy when I'm in marine county swinging into this store because I know I get the old fashioned kind of grocery Customer experience. It's only 5 minutes off the freeway and totally worth driving to with plenty of parking. Including handicapped barking of course. If you go in there you're going to Fine thanks to you also won't find another story because they are somewhat of a specialty place. Was in town to hike mt tam & I wanted to get a decent sandwich so I came across Nugget on Yelp since it was near our hotel. Soo glad we stopped by before our hike because the sandwiches we had for our lunch hike were delicious & not your average sandwich. I buy kosher items I'am a Christian/Jew they have scattered all the shabby candles and kosher grape juice etc. all over the store? Why put things in all different places? So people have to spend more time shopping and they will buy more? Their fish is okay but why don't they buy local it's cheaper? When I do eat meat once or twice a year it has to be grass fed. They can buy it from PT. Reyes and have it delivered, also they should have recipe cards on how to cook certain things for the elderly who don't have mobile phones with YouTube on it where you can find all you need for almost every recipe. The store even moved their unshelled pistachios and I only eat lightly salted no pepper. They used to be by the produce aisle. They should get extra help in the deli at lunch time. I went in there to get a sandwich and there were twelve people in line! All in all they have good organic produce but I bought some dill and it died in three days kept in water outside fridge. I was home it was not the weather. Two weeks before the dill and parsley last more than a week. The celery bunches were very small about a 1/4 of a celery? This is the closest store to my house so I shop here when I can get out. Where are the matzos? They have challah bread almost every day of the week! Once again the boss ordered us sandwiches for lunch! This time from Nugget! I requested a Hot Pastrami which arrived hot and tasty. Sauerkraut was tucked inside like a Reuben with toasted bread. A nice sandwich sauce like 1000 Island dressing. All good! The work crew shared a box full of the Chocolate Chip cookies, which were delicious too! This is an awesome market - however, I do not recommend the Bahn Mi Breakfast burrito - I ordered it on a whim, as it seemed interesting and not only found it yucky (not to my liking) but had to wait a full 20 minutes for it to be made. Nugget Market is pure delight, wonder choices in just about every department. I came for the Beckmann pies, and I have searched all the local supermarkets for these without success. I come back for them, the outstanding roast chicken, the sesame bagels and to just to enjoy shopping for groceries. The only favs I haven't found here are the Semifreddi garlic croutons and the Primavera green chili and Jack cheese tamales. The staff is so kind and welcoming. You can tell they like working here. Used to be my go to lunch spot, but after today I will have to find a new place. Came in at lunch time grabbed my number and waited to order a sandwich. My order was taken after a couple minutes and I began to wait for my order. 15 minutes later, I see other customers who ordered after me get their sandwiches. At least 3 were called before I received a call to pick mine. I get to the register and find that the sandwich that cost $9.99 a couple weeks ago, was now almost $15.00. WOW, not such a deal anymore. Deli workers seem a little angry as I heard them discussing how they couldn't wait to be off work. While I understand that lunch time is busy, the attitude and vibe was not pleasant. I'm actually saddened to see the change in this place over the last few weeks. Hope they can figure it out. read more

Went to Nugget market to order a deli sandwich for lunch, which is on the right hand side of the grocery store in back. Oh, you want a cold soft drink to go with that sandwich? That's on the other side of the market, on aisle 5, past the 3 aisles devoted to wine. Whoever designed the floorplan of this market needs to find another career. And three trips up and down aisle 5 failed to produce the ginger ale I was looking for. Lesson learned: if you want a sandwich, go to a sandwich shop. read more

I would like to say I love the "nugget market" ! My poppa loved it too and may he rest in peace! The steak and the fresh fish is what my dad liked and also the fresh sourdough French bread. Like father like daughter! I just adore their service and when they have Dungeness crab they will crack and clean it for you! They have a bakery which is awesome. I love their caramel chocolate chip cookies but these are crisp for people who don't like soft or gooey cookies and they are scrumptious! I can get fresh challah bread for Shabbat and during Pesach they carry some kosher items but I usually go San Francisco, for Kosher! I really like the grass fed steaks and ground beef they have! I usually buy "Halibut & Petrale Sole"! They carry REAL SEA SCALLOPS TOO!! They have a huge variety of fresh organic fruits and vegetables that start with the number 9 where as other chain stores have organic and purchase the organic label that starts with a number 4 which means it is usually a "GMO" or has been sprayed. I just found this out six months ago. Well, enjoy "Nugget" I do and I forgot to tell you they have a huge section on gifts made from other countries and also essential oils and vitamins and a section for fresh probiotics and prebiotics. They have some of the friendliest staff that I have ever met at a grocery store. I ordered a sandwich from the deli recently and the man who took my order was very helpful and friendly. The rest of the staff I interacted with at the meat counter and checkout were happy and friendly as well. The store itself is immaculate. I would be very wary of eating prepared food from this store. I bought chili from the deli maybe about a month ago and immediately took it back to my office to heat up for lunch. When it came out of the microwave it was FROTHY. I (stupidly) tasted a teeny bit and it was absolutely RANCID. I called the store and the person I spoke with was confused that I said I got it from the deli because apparently they hadn't gotten any chili in FOR OVER A MONTH. I ended up speaking with the kitchen manager who confirmed that I had, indeed, been sold month-old rancid chili. I received a refund but I still cannot bring myself to step foot in this store. Yeah, this is a great market. Super well organized, great products and for me, a decent selection of vegan options (which I greatly appreciate). I had not been at this location for at least 15 years, back when it was Paradise Market. It's just not all that convenient to where I live but I happen to be in the area recently and stopped in to check it out. Wow, not only did the improve upon what I thought was a really good thing (Paradise), they knocked it out of the park as a modern, fresh market reimagined. Great bakery items, many are vegan and a great deli selection and fresh produce section with a wide variety of seasonal produce.
