I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. We weren't planning on actually getting food but it was such a beautiful day and the aromas from the pizza were just absolutely delightful. The service is hella fast. They definitely were on it . The food was done with great precision and great presentation. This place is a solid three. It felt like a chain restaurant in every way. The service, decor, and food were all very...decent. I would use the words "regimented" and "unspectacular" but then you'd think I'm the weird one (I am). Don't get me wrong, it's not bad in any way but there's no passion for food or love of patrons in anything about that experience. It's the epitome of "fine" dining if you define fine as just okay. The beets in their beet salad tasted canned, the drink was weak and not yummy, I didn't care for the brussels at all but it wasn't because they weren't done ok, I just personally didn't care for the strong lemon. The flat bread tasted FLAT and came with lukewarm jarred sauce. Not delicious enough for the carb points for me. I personally wouldn't choose this place again but it was nothing if not convenient. I have had the pizza there in house and it wasn't spectacular, but it was pretty good ....however, the experience with the takeout pizza was very different. the crust was barely there ... smaller than the dine-in ones and almost tasteless... as if from a different restaurant. Four of us came for dinner. I ordered the sausage and pepperoni Neapolitan pizza. It was fantastic. Lots of meat on top of a margherita pizza. A huge portion size. It's not quite as light as the pizza I had in Naples but close enough. I wish there was a Boca near me. My wife had the Kale soup which she loved. The wine selection was very good. My wife and friend split a non-acholoic grape juice from Navarro winery. It was like drinking wine. Very classy and not sugary. read more

Hands up!! Everyone's cheering because the BBQ Chicken Pizza here is phenomenal!! I get mine without the red bell peppers - for me that would make a huge difference in the overall taste. To me bell peppers take precedence over the other flavors not in a favorable way. So x-nay the bell peppers, yay!! The win win on the pizza that put it over the top are the chili flakes giving it the slightest bit of kick to make it stand out over all the other delicious BBQ Chicken pizzas in the world. Bravo Boca Pizzeria! The burrata is meh, only because of the price. It's overpriced for what you get and it's stuffed into a small plastic 1oz container, small portion. Now keep in mind I e never been to the restaurant only order from DoorDash or postmates so it could be different in the restaurant. The beet salad was fantastic except I wasn't a fan of the dressing so I made my own, next time I order it I would ask for something different. The bread they offer is amazing but also a little pricey for what you get. Unfortunately, for me, the restaurant has hit every happy mark with my taste buds and the prices of everything won't deter me from ordering again, and again and again. I've enjoyed lunch here several times when in the area. I've been wanting to write about my wonderful experiences with this restaurant and finally got around to it due to the great service from Ismael! The food is delicious. Some favorites the salmon sandwich, chopped salad and meatballs (made to authentic Italian perfection with pine nuts which IMHO makes the meatball amazing). The chef is talented! In addition I always get great, prompt, friendly service. Soon as walk in the hostess is ready to seat you then the waiter shows up promptly. I love the ambiance open and airy. Seating available outside as well on the patio. Yesterday Ismael was the server for my table. He was wonderful. The perfect balance of being attentive but not overbearing. I started with the meatballs which were once again delicious. I then asked Ismael about the pappardelle compared to other items and he told me how wonderful it is and how much he likes it so I ordered it. Wow, turned out to be the most delicious pappardelle ever. The pasta was al dente and the beef short ribs tender and juicy. Ismael continued throughout the lunch to providing consistent good service. Since I started the lunch with the meatballs I had to take half of my pasta home. Ismael promptly brought a to go container. Family devoured the leftovers as soon as I got home. Loved the dish as well. Thanks Boca for the wonderful food and great service. Look forward to my next meal and trying yet more menu items! read more

This place really blew me away! I was expecting a pretty meh pizza experience since I was in a mall, but this was super high quality! The meatballs are worth the drive from Oakland or SF. They're better than Delfina, which I've always felt was the best meatballs around. They were sooo moist and soft, and made with pine nuts in them. I would come back just for these. The salad was good, nothing super special. We just wanted some greens and it foot the bill. The larger salads are HUGE and looked really good. The pizza was good too! The crust was delicious, probs could have used a little more sauce and prosciutto but otherwise hit the spot. Not better than Delfina, but really solid. Wine list was the right amount of extensive. Our server was fabulous and fun, extremely attentive and sweet! Extremely memorable and good! If you can't get into RH rooftop across the way, don't fear, this is a really excellent option!!! read more

Some of the worst service I've ever had. food was not bad but having zero check ins during the meal was disappointing, despite many staff members moping around. We didn't have a designated server, members of staff not doing much with a total of 3 tables filled and had 0 check ups on our meal and experience. Waters were never refilled after first fill. I can only speak for the pappardelle and it was okay. Was not one-of-a-kind like other reviews made it out to be at all. Tasted very akin to homemade pasta with very mild spicy bolognese sauce. Portion size is perfect lunch-portion. Enough to be satiated and not comatose. Was sad there was barely any parmigiano in my pasta. Waitress was friendly. However, we waited a long time for her/anyone to appear again despite only a few other groups dining. Unrelated but I was forced to overhear the most boring one-upping contest behind me on the patio. A group of 5 were all shouting/cutting each other off to storytell who had the hardest life after attaining so much money. One of them was lamenting what to do with a million. Really? Dropped by for a late lunch today because I had some time to kill in the area. Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken - It was just OK. For a $30 bowl of pasta, it would have been nice to have been offered a slice of bread, some fresh ground (or any pepper) or fresh Parmesan. I saw the waiter (friendly guy) exactly twice - to take my order and bring me my check. He handed me the POS with the tip already punched in. How much do you leave for somebody you talk to for less than 20 seconds? Boca has one of the best happy hours in the area (or maybe even in Marin). All of the employees from the hostess' to the bartenders are always very friendly. I love their bar bites - Brussel sprouts, flatbreads, meatballs and pizzas are all a great deal and delicious. read more

I came here almost 10 years ago when they first opened and remember their wood burning oven pizzas. Came and ordered 2 pizzas (Pepperoni/Sausage and Margherita) a few days ago and it was delicious! Fresh, hot, soft and tasty. Pizzas are shareable size but smaller than your Dominos pizza. You get about 6 small thin slices each. It was a beautiful day outside so outdoor seating was a must for our lunch choice. After some Yelping and going back and forth on where to go, we settled on Boca, and that was a good choice. To start with, my friend and I shared a Truffled Mac & Cheese. Never heard of such a thing but we knew we had to order it - and it was great! Although at $8 for a small portion and the fact it came at the same time as the pizza, we should have skipped it. As for the pizza, since this is a review of a place with "Pizzeria" in the name, well, it was pretty good. I had the "Calabrese" and my buddy had the "Pear and Prosciutto". Everything was good with the pizza - I can't find anything to complain about. Price-wise, since I am pretty value-conscious (hey, that's nicer than saying I'm a cheapo), for a quality pizza at a nice restaurant like this one, $19 for each pizza is in line with other Marin establishments. I didn't measure my pizza but while it's not a family size pizza, it is bigger than a personal pizza. We each ate about half of ours - next time around we'll either not order a "starter" (their fancy word for appetizer) or order an appetizer and split a pizza. Service was fine. I do wish our table had been a bit larger. My friend almost knocked a plate off the table and I almost sent my water glass tumbling. And here I was thinking glasses and tumblers were two different things! Since it was not busy at all when we came I wish they should have offered us a larger table - obviously when it's busy this is unreasonable but at 2PM on a Tuesday, why not? In conclusion, it took me a while to decide between 4 or 5 stars for this review, but I like the flavor and friendliness of the service at Pizzalina in San Anselmo a little better even though they don't have as large of a menu as Boca. read more

Recently went back to Boca for the first time since the pandemic. Pre-pandemic, it was one of our go-to restaurants with the kids, but somehow, didn't get around to going back until recently. Food: App: octopus was well seasoned and tender without being mushy. Even the arugula was dressed well, and went well with the octopus and polenta. Salad. Shared a Boca salad. We used to always get a salad that had lamb slices and I think a hunk of goat cheese(?) but it's no longer on the menu. This entree salad was a pretty good substitute. Generous portion, and again, well dressed--flavorful without being drenched/soggy. Crostini was nicely toasted. Entree: shared the short rib pappardelle, which was delicious. So flavorful, and our 10 year old kept sneaking bites even after he claimed he was full from his pizza. Pizza: got the kids a pepperoni, and cheese pizza, fully knowing that the pizzas are big, and that they would eat less than half, since they refused to compromise and share a pizza. But hey, leftovers for lunch the next day! The pizzas were fine, nothing special. But the kids liked them, which is saying something. Service: attentive without being hovering Ambiance: casual, not too crowded, but we went at 5 pm, when it's mostly families and maybe seniors. read more

We ate at your Corte Madera location, celebrating our wedding anniversary and waiter accidentally spilled the clam appetizer on me and burned me through my blouse. I asked our waitress to remove the clam appetizer on our bill, grant that it was removed but I shouldn't have had to ask. The manager on hand should at least had the courtesy to come to our table and apologized. I emailed them directly, didn't want to post here but I got no reply. read more

I've been back a few times and ordered the burrata, which came with delicious bread! The staff here are always very nice! Five of us elderly men -- youngest 77, oldest 96 -- meet weekly at our yacht club. When the club is closed, as it was Christmas week, we pick a restaurant in southern Marin. At the club we each sign individual chits. For years I have arrived early at the chosen restaurant and arranged for independent bills. You can imagine old dudes trying to figure out who had the beer, who ordered the fancy dish, etc. I usually give our would-be server $20 for the inconvenience and make sure each person leaves a nice tip. I started to explain this to the server at Boca, as was interrupted by a forceful "We don't do that!" I tried to tell him why the request, to be interrupted again. "No way. The kitchen doesn't like it." This was a first in nearly a dozen restaurants. I put the twenty dollars back in my pocket. When my colleagues arrived I told them what happened, that I would be buying lunch for everyone, and to enjoy the surroundings, as we would not be returning. Oh, and yet another sign of pretentious management: when I was given the bill, my options offered on the lame credit card device being used: no tip, 20%, 22% and 25%. Having been a busboy in my youth I never stiff staff, but had to laugh when the lowest option given was one-fifth of the total bill. I showed that around the table, eliciting comments about how that greed might sadly be being applied in the kitchen. Both have the same base, so essentially its the same. I'd say the neopolitan was a good 4/5. The best thing about it was the wood fired crust. Very thin and crispy. The cheese (or maybe the sauce) was way too salty on both pizzas. What made the salami pizza even worse was the salami. Literally we had to strip the salami into smaller pieces in order for the 3 of us to stomach it. 3/5 on the salami. We also ordered a caesar salad with anchovies. While the salad was good, they could've put more anchovies. Low 4/5 on the salad SERVICE Excellent. ATMOSPHERE You can tell they spent some money on the interior. Clean and inviting. read more

Out with a friend, waiter added 25% tip before asking. My friend paid, not realizing the tip was pre-punched in by the waiter and was this high. My friend was going to leave a cash tip on the table. This should be illegal. I am going to say this...we are never coming back . You just lost a customer that has been coming to your place for over five years now but because your staff is greedy and willing to take advantage of people especially older people who are not tech savvy, you lost a customer. I had lunch at Boca Pizzeria for the first time with our friends. Our friends are regulars in this Novato location. For a place located in a small shopping area, it was surprisingly a good experience. I had a Fennel Sausage and Pepperoni pizza and wifey got the Grilled Verlasso Salmon. The pizza was made on a thick crust with lots of meat. Very tasty meats and the crust was baked with just enough crunch. The salmon was presented nicely and it was just as good as it looks. Salmon tasted moist, not too fishy and tasted fresh. The side greens were cooked perfectly. We capped off lunch with orders of desserts. But the one that stood out the most was the Warm Apple Tart. It was delicious and I recommend this treat to anyone. You won't regret it. Overall, I'll go back again if I'm around the area. You should give a try if your lucky enough to be in Novato. I am from out of town and had a stop in Larkspur. We had a party of 10 and Boca made the accommodations last minute during dinner time. This place has a good ambiance to it with an open kitchen and plenty of TVs to watch sports. I have the pizza with sausage and pepperoni a Cesar salad, and garlic bread to start. It was all really good. The service was top notch, friendly, and knowledgeable on the menu. I would recommend this as a stop to anyone in that area. read more

Last night I went to Bocca in Corte Madera for dinner to take home. It was Sunday at about 7-7:30 pm. I noticed only a few people in the restaurant. Their food used to be decent, but last night inedible. Pizza had a thick, tasteless, and tough crust. The Sunday special, Lasagna, was greasy, without a hint of meat, and no tomato sauce. The brussels sprouts, which we used to enjoy, provided about six tough pieces with a few hard flakes of over-cooked bacon. The salad provided came with a sweet, unpleasant dressing.
