All American Burger
Inday C.

Classic hamburger was good, the portion was huge, fries were original and so nice and crunchy. My granddaughter had the mac n cheese and she loved the creamy cheese. Our server was amazing. My daughter and I shared the burger as we knew it was gonna be too much for one person. Our server was very accommodating and even split the salad into two separate bowls! The only drawback we had here was the presence of a man who looked homeless and came in after we did. He ordered eggs and bacon with pancakes but he was unhappy with the bacon. He started complaining and was muttering to himself and talking loudly. He yelled at the cook from where we swayed. We were afraid for the our children as we were sitting from him. Management never came and the server didn't come either. He finally left without paying and we felt safer as did the other patrons...

Rainy Day & Nostalgia

Can you believe that Bob's is 90 years old? I have such fond memories of going to Bob's after Friday night football games while in high school. This location is close to work and attracts a diverse bunch of customers. Families & older men dining solo tend to dominate. I've been here when they are playing Golden Oldies from the 50's! I've also heard 80's music...Thompson Twins anyone? Nostalgic override. I still love the classic Big Boy cheeseburger with that special RED RELISH, substitute onion rings instead of fries. Sometimes I'll get a real ice cream shake or else a root beer float. Hits the spot. It's super air conditioned - great for hot valley days - and still features classic burgundy-colored booths. Don't forget to grab a t-shirt or Bob's Big Boy coffee mug for sale at the front cash register. Flashback to simpler times for sure.

Onion rings

Forgot to take a picture of the hamburger. It was ok, it needs flavor. It didn't taste fresh. The fried chicken was juicy, crispy and delicious. Good flavor. The onion rings really good, the batter they use is really tasty, crunchy. Plenty of parking, on Fridays their is a car show

After picking up my Target orders, I finally had time to stop by this place for an early breakfast. Parking is shared with other stores, and since it was early in the morning, parking was a breeze--you can pretty much park anywhere. When I walked in, the diner was nearly empty; you could literally count how many people were eating inside. The menu is pretty basic, nothing too exciting. Unfortunately, the food I ordered was just meh--nothing memorable. There was only one server working, but she did a great job keeping my coffee filled and checking in when needed. The interior definitely shows its age--peeling booths and worn furniture--but I guess that's part of the old-school diner nostalgia.

Patty Melt on sourdough with fries
Dean E.

Tonight I ordered take out from this location; an Original Big Boy Combo and a Patty Melt on sourdough. The burger bun was so wet that it disintegrated while eating it, and the burger fell apart. As you can see from the photo, the patty melt was a disgrace - it was dry and had nothing on it. Needless to say, we couldn't finish the food. The owner, manager, and chefs should be embarrassed. Where is your pride for serving good quality food? This will likely be the last time we order from here, which is a shame because it used to be so good.

Fish and Shrimp Dinner
Kisha L.

I have not been at Bobs Big Boy since I was a little girl they have a big menu and the food is very reasonable. I ordered the fish and shrimp but it was just OK because my fish was full of batter and I did not care for the batter taste on the shrimp. It was different than the fish batter. My mom ordered fried chicken and she loved it. Service was excellent. The place had a nice old-fashioned Metro diner vibe. The prices are unbelievable for all the food and sides you get. Easy parking in front.

I'll make this short and sweet, if that's even possible for me. Many years later, I found myself here again, at one of the few remaining Bob's Big Boys and the second of two in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. I noticed a few things on my last visit. I'll start out with what could use some improvement. The cashier was a little frosty. The interior is looking a little more worn, but isn't everything else in SoCal, including the housing stock in this immediate area, which once upon a time used to look "modern?" I'll now move on to what was good. The Big Boy double decker burger was better than how I described the one in my last review - it was nicely cooked and better presented. I was very satisfied with my lunch here. The waitress (can we say that in the New Millennium?) was very nice and spirited, meaning a good brand of sassy. I also appreciate that this double decker burger combination keeps on keeping on. Okay, this Northridge Big Boy location does not look like the iconic stand-alone one in Burbank, but there will also be less fanfare and it will be a more low key experience. I should just be thankful that there are are still a few Bob's Big Boy restaurants in the Southland. So, in my estimation, the important things - the food and the service - raise this location to 4 stars.

This is a newer Bob's Big Boy and not your dad's era. Located southwest of Northridge Shopping Center, it is located on the east side of Corbin and can't be missed. My go to Big Boy Combination was good but not great, as they forgot my request for a side of ranch for the fries. I've to the Burbank and Downey locations recently and feel this location is not as good as the others. Another item I ordered was the Country Fried Steak, which was okay, but forgot the bread. Probably more attention to detail is needed to improve to go experience...

Patty Melt Combo 10/10

I still really like this place due to the fact I have been many many times and most of their food options are delicious. However their chili was just not good at all. It was watery, flavorless, and I did not enjoy the tons of raw onion on top. I do not recommend getting this item, their burgers and fried chicken is way better. Service is amazing, the sweetest people, very accommodating without complaint, friendly and fast, I like the location because it's right next to target haha and kohls. Overall I do like this place I just think that one menu item was not very good.

Chili size
Larry O.

The chili size--an open faced hamburger covered with chili and cheese--used to be fairly common in American diners, but not so much anymore. We tried the chili size at Bob's Big Boy, and it was delicious, the best I've ever had. The chili was not spicy, and I like spicy, but still I wouldn't change anything about it. The top of the bun was a thick slice of bread, grilled with cheese, crunchy and cut diagonally. They didn't scrimp on the chili, and it was so filling, I regretted ordering the onion rings. I'll go back again. And again.

We almost didn't go in after reading some reviews. I'm so glad we did! Our memories growing up eating at Bob's Big Boy from the 70"s were great. First off on the Door was a A from an inspection. We walked in and 3 different workers greeted us with smiles and welcomed us. The place was clean. Laid back atmosphere. Lots of history on the walls. Big dinning room. Only 4 other people were there. In the back there was a round table with elderly women playing cards. They got up after while moved to a new table to eat, then went back to finish their game. It made me smile most restaurants want you in and out quickly. The food was really good. I had the good old fashion Bob's combo. It came with a salad and fries. The salad was fresh and the thousand island dressing, it was the thick old fashion kind. The fries I normally would pass on but these were cooked just right and a side of really good buttermilk ranch. The burger was perfectly cooked with the special sauce. It was way too much food so of course I had a to go box. My husband had the French dip. He said it was just like he remembered as a kid. He also enjoyed his salad and fries. He never uses ranch on his fries but he tasted mine and was sold. He also ordered an Orange Creamsicle shake and it was soo good. They use real ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry on top. It comes with the old fashion metal cup so there's plenty. So glad we went in. We figured we could always walk out if it was dirty. It was clean and the wait staff were all very helpful and happy. Clean bathrooms. Our bill was about $40. It was a great walk down memory lane. Too bad Bob's is closed in our town. Great diner food.

Pappy Parker's Fried Chicken Includes: 2 sides, side salad & toasted bread $21

Came here on a Monday around 4pm. The place was pretty empty, but service was a little slow. There were only 2 servers at this time. The place does feel dated and old as the booth I was seated at, you can see that the upholstery was worn out and had tears in them. I ended up ordering the fried chicken dinner. You get 2 sides and a salad with this. I ordered the onion rings and mashed potatoes for my 2 sides. The food actually came out faster than I thought it would. Most likely because it was empty. The fried chicken had a thick coating on it, but it was seasoned well. You get 4 pieces, but the pieces are on the smaller side. I would have like more meat on the chicken to be honest. The mashed potatoes come with country gravy. The gravy was pepper forward, but was good. The onion rings were probably frozen. Overall, the food was decent, but not the best fried chicken I've had. The chicken from Country Deli is way better better than at Bob's.

Absolutely huge burger and I took out a fork to eat it. The root beer tasted perfect and the fries didn't need seasoning at all. By the way the bbq sauce made the meal 10/10. Came here on 14th of May 2025 and I was greeted right away. The host sat me and told me the waitress will take your order. She made me feel special. She took time to make eye contact. She was extremely friendly and every request I asked her for she did it and was very polite.

This place is disgustingly filthy. Tables are sticky, menus are sticky. Looks like it hasn't been properly cleaned in 29 years.

Ask the Community - Bob's Big Boy

Do they serve breakfast all day?

Yes, Bob's Big Boy does serve breakfast all day and night long. Great place to get a bite.

Is the franchise still supported by their creators or has the brand died? The reason I ask is if the quality standards are watched or just a free for all... Burbank gets higher reviews than Chatsworth

I do not know the business aspect of this restaurant, but the food and the Bob's big boy theme has not changed. Just dined here on Thursday.

For those of you who live in the SFV, you know that good breakfast spots are hard to come by and if you do know any, you've already been there a thousand times. While searching for something new, I stumbled across this spot! My boyfriend and I love old diners like these so we decided to give it a try. I won't lie to you, pulling up and seeing it was at a Galpin dealership kind of threw us off lol But OMG this place was amazing! Right off the bat, the ambiance was so nice, like stepping into a time machine and being back in the 60s. We were greeted so warmly and decided to sit at the bar to get the full experience. Upon looking at the menu, they had more than just breakfast. They had burgers, sandwiches, melts, steaks and more! GET IT AT GALPIN Now, the chefs. Just by looking at them through the pass, I knew I was about to have the greatest food I've ever tasted.. I ordered the griddle combo with french toast, my boyfriend ordered the huevos rancheros and we got a pastrami melt to share, and it was life changing. The butter just melted on the french toast paired with the warm syrup on the side... o m g I tried the orange juice and thought "that is freshly squeezed" and look up to find a machine squeezing fresh oranges, amazing. Our server Sesy was so attentive and even gave us a slice of homemade banana cream pie for my boyfriend's birthday! (all their pies are homemade btw) Can't even be mad at the prices cause I got exactly what I paid for, worth every penny! This is definitely a new favorite spot we'll be coming to a thousand more times :) 10/10 Food 10/10 Service GET IT AT GALPIN

I ended up purchasing a car from Galpin last year, so I've had even more opportunities to stop by Horseless Carriage over the past year, and it's still just as good as I remember. Whether I'm there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is always fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. You can tell there's a real standard for the food here, and I think it's far above what you normally expect from a restaurant connected to a dealership. Geovanni is also fantastic, especially when it comes to restaurant standards and catering. He's incredibly detailed and makes sure everything is taken care of, and his staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Everyone seems to genuinely enjoy being there, and you can tell. I also love that whenever I'm here, I see so many familiar faces. There are clearly a ton of regulars, and the restaurant is busy all the time. To me, that says a lot more than anything else could. People keep coming back because of the relationships they've built with the staff and the consistency of the experience. After coming here for more than 20 years, I can honestly say the quality is still there. You can tell the family takes a lot of pride in this restaurant, and it shows. It's one of those places where you know you're going to get a good meal every time, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Cheers to consistency!

After waiting in line in the heat, we were met with an employee whose attitude was rude, dismissive, and unwelcoming from the start. We then waited an unexpectedly long 40 minutes for very basic food, which was ultimately slammed onto our table by the same employee. Poor service can ruin an entire experience. We walked in smiling, excited to enjoy a weekend breakfast and walked out understanding why this business is closing. It's difficult to imagine many customers returning when they're treated this way, regardless of the food or diner ambiance. We completely lost our appetite - no one wants to pay for a meal only to have it slammed down in front of them. The employee's behavior was nasty, disrespectful and completely unacceptable. It left a bad taste in our mouths before we even took our first bite. I've never left a 1 star review before, but the complete lack of respect and basic courtesy left me with no other choice. The decor is exactly what you'd expect (and exactly what you want) from a neighborhood coffee shop: formica tables, padded chairs and booths, aging photos on the walls, and lively music playing on the radio. It was bustling at lunchtime on a Thursday, but not crazy busy (as on many weekend mornings), so I was seated immediately. The menu boasts a fairly large selection of options, from the usual breakfast items to sandwiches and burgers, daily specials, and those aforementioned muffins (which you can get instead of toast with your breakfast if you like). Today, I opted for their Spicy Louisiana Hot Link with eggs, grits and toast. It was a very generous portion of food for $16.95, and I appreciate how they've manage to keep their prices reasonable. The eggs were a proper over-medium, and the grits were both hot and creamy. The side of butter melted easily into the porridge, which, when salted and peppered, made for a satisfying and savory bite. The sausage was split and grilled, showing off a nice char; they were spicy, as advertised, but not overly powerful, and they paired very well with the warm, creamy egg yolk. Rye toast was full of caraway flavor, and really shone when topped with butter and a generous slather of Nat's house-made Apricot Jam (packed with fruit flavor without being too sweet). Yes, Nat's remains a solid, satisfying spot for breakfast and lunch. And though parking can sometimes be a challenge, I find the food is well worth the effort.
