This place has okay food for breakfast might even be considered good, but I cannot stomach the dirty feel and the too close seating area. Just coming into the place there was spit on the ground and cigarette butts near the door. My appetite is ruined here before taking the first bite, even before being seated.. The food did not compensate for the dirtiness of the outside and inside. And they need a large place to sit customers. I stopped here on the way to the airport based on good reviews. This is a small locally owned grill with plenty of character. The french toast was very good. Two thick pieces of white bread that were perfectly browned. My brother's pecan pancakes were amazing. Each pancake was about a foot square and I couldn't believe how close he came to completely eating both. I asked for crisp bacon and that's what I got. The coffee was good and our cups were kept full. The staff was very nice. If you are looking for a good breakfast and prefer to stay away from national chain restaurants as I do, try this place. read more

For a local "choke and puke" as Burt Reynolds called them, it was pretty good. I read the negative reviews and entered with caution. If you are an uptight, snobby kind if diner then stay away. It is small, busy, and it seems like somebody is always squeezing by you. But, unlike the negative reviews suggested, the muscle shirt wearing female waitresses were friendly and there were no odd smells that I could detect. The food, came quickly and in large portions. The pancakes are especially large and gave a variety of fillers, but the taste was nothing special... just decent. All the food was good enough and inexpensive, which is certainly the reason for the attraction. The elephant in the room may be the answer... its the water! If you are not a local you may find issues with the water. The water was not good and it ruined the coffee. I really like my coffee and this was a 2 out of 5 stars. It was not fixable with sugar or creamer. I think the bad water may have something to do with quality of the food, but you get to decide that. If you want a fast, cheap, and pretty good breakfast and willing to wait in line for it at peak hours then give it a try! read more

Service was a bit brusk, but perfectly in line with the atmosphere. But you come here for the pancakes and they were absolutely sublime. I could not finish it, about 10" round with at least an entire banana cooked within along with an almost burnt caramelized topping. The pancake needed no syrup or butter and was just perfect as/is. Came to Tucson for the Jewelry Show, and wanted to grub prior to standing and walking for hours. Having read the rockin' reviews about Bobo's, my friend Jenny and I decided we were up for hotcakes. We were seated quickly at two open seats at the counter and had the pleasure of meeting a couple of locals and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast. This family run business is a fantastic stop for locals and visitors. I opted for a plain pancake (it's huge), with the egg/sausage/bacon combo. Portions are generous and the food is delicious. I first heard about this place via excited freshman boy ranting about how he could stuff himself with "mama style pancakes" here for close to nothing. My boy friend reaaaally likes breakfast foods, I on the other hand am very indifferent but since the boy made it clear that it was a Tucson must have I decided I'd try it out. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and when it came out I was impressed. People usually say "Wow! Look! Its almost big as your head!" but this pancake was "Wow look! This pancake is 3 times the size of your body and can stop world hunger alone status!". Pretty freaking huge. On the downside, sometimes, they're so big that they come out burnt without the inside not cooked all the way through, but pish posh that rarely happens. Overall it's a great place to dine but I'd be aware of the huge waiting line you'll probably encounter in the mornings but its worth it. Service is fast and friendly, so you'll never have to see the bottom of your coffee cup. In addition, it's probably one of the cheapest sit down joints around. read more

I recently became acquainted with Bobo's for breakfast, sampling their "early bird" $1.99 offering as a test. Two eggs, home fries, and toast - all done very well, just as ordered. Even plus tax and a one buck tip, you are still out of there for about 3 bucks. However, the real test came today, when I decided to order the chicken fried steak breakfast for lunch. Now, in order to ensure that the steak arrives crispy and stays that way, I always order this with the gravy on the side. Everything was delivered as ordered, and the steak was an excellent example of this fare - about 8 inches in diameter and fried really crispy. The side of gravy was used to anoint each bite, so that both flavor and texture were preserved. Really good, and I discovered that I could fish out a goodly number of small sausage pieces cooked into the gravy, enhancing the treat. The home fries were equally good, with the fry cook not afraid to put a crunchy bottom on them, and they also went well when anointed with the gravy. read more

The wait time was about 40 minutes. I watched them try to seat someone who came after me, and i had to correct them. The table was not even cleaned entirely. It was too overcrowded. I waited about 10 minutes for someone to get my drink. Then finally i got my drink and was ready to order. Waiter was not ready at all. I waited another 10 minutes. Finally got my order put in. Food took about 20 minutes. It was cold and soggy. Would not recommend. I don't understand what people like about this place. It's small, over crowded and not even good service or food.
