Food was so good! We sat at the Bar the Bartender was so slow and forgot our drinks and help another couple that walked in after us then remembered our drinks. Forgot us again when we asked for another drink and she was never behind the bar and when she was she wasn't very hospitality. I wish that this was an amazing tale of delicious BBQ and praises, however it's not. My fiancé and I had been wanting to try this place forever and tonight happened to be the night. Burnt ends 11.95 for a tiny minuscule 3 oz portion could almost be acceptable if the food spoke volumes, sadly it barely spoke a sentence and that sentence was "This is not worth the price". We also ordered the chicken wings. Not a bad bite until you try a second piece and there is inconsistency in flavor and smoke. Not sure if rubs were even utilized, I guess it's ok if you've never experienced great BBQ from around the states. We have and we were disappointed not only at the quality but the prices that do not reflect the portion size. Sorry we won't be back. read more

Great place for a wide variety of craft beers and good food. The atmosphere is laid back and casual and the entire staff is friendly and helpful. Stopped here Friday for a few beers and late night snack. Kim, the bartender is AWESOME. She's super knowledgable of all of the beers, and bourbon too. She was such a great bartender I wish I could pack her up and bring her to serve me at every bar I go to! Great beer selection, as well as prices. I wished for lived closer, I'd be a regular! Only complaint was the live music-- although nice that there is live music-- was a little too jam band for a Friday night. Was visiting a friend in that area from NJ and yelped this place up. If I could it would be 3 1/2 stars. Pretty good. My friend loves the fried chicken and waffles. He claims Jesus was in there (his words not mine). I had the bbq chicken, sweet potato fries (came with this Jesus dipping sauce), hand cut fries (amazing) , Mac and cheese, sausage, collard green, fried pickles (so damn good), buffalo wings, potato salad (I liked a lot, plain and classic). Not necessarily that order. Collard greens were way too sweet, cornbread didn't seem fresh but was ok, Mac and cheese was great, classic (although I can see why people think it's just meh . Sausage was a bit salty (but again just my taste buds.) Dessert was disappointing. They didn't have the brownie one and banana pudding was meh (got it cause it was the only thing available) and ice cream. There was surprise live entertainment that night who played mostly country music but does requests (just not Usher). I tend to order the world when I'm out especially when the place is far away. I'll order the rest when I come back They didn't have most of the beer on tap which was very disappointing because I came specifically for those. I'd go again because good vibes and my waitress was amazing and happy (short blond hair, sorry forgot her name). She left a great impression. Two more things One. Appetizers came out hot but the main course did not, for people who care. But to me it was perfect temperature. And the food came out quick Two. Cool place! A friend had some good things to say about Bobbique so we ventured there after a long day at the beach. Perfect food to close out that occasion! I had the Pulled Pork platter, selected fries and BBQ beans for my sides. Also ordered at the table were: Mac and Cheese, Fried Pickles, Quarter Rack of Ribs. The pulled pork was very good. I would say to this point, it is tied for the second best pulled pork on Long Island, and since it's tied with a place that is now closed (Tennessee Jack's), it stands alone in second. Still not as good as Smokin Al's, because it was still a bit lacking in flavor that it needed BBQ sauce to be truly great. The fries were very good and fresh. I liked the baked beans but they were a bit too sweet for my tastes. The corn bread is very good but a bit dry, definitely was better with some butter on it. The fried pickles were amazing! My friend had raved about them before, and I had never in my life even tried them anywhere, and I'm glad she ordered them. Tastes really great with the ranch dipping sauce. I tried a rib from my friend's plate. It was good, tender, had a nice smoky flavor too. Props also to Bobbique for having Arrogant Bastard Ale on draft. Now THAT'S a beer. I will definitely return to Bobbique, but since Smokin Al's is so much closer to my house I would only go back if it was an "in-the-area" type thing. read more

Can I give 4.5 stars, please? I'm so hesitant to give out that last star, but Bobbique comes close. Surely other reviewers have droned on and on about the ambiance, location, and interior, so I'll skip right to the great things and the (few) bad things. Great: beer selection is outstanding. I've never seen a bottle of Bud in any one's hands, ever. Ever ever. Why would you bother, when there's so much else that's better right at your fingertips?! Almost as good is the whiskey selection. I usually have to drive, so I rarely sample, but the bottles on the wall speak for themselves. The staff is fantastic and attentive. The clientele is friendly and often comprised of regulars. The wings are, simply put, out of this world. Giant, with fantastic sauces. Be careful when you order them; cut your normal wing consumption in half. Trust Adam. The ribs are pretty good, and the sausage (really, pretty much just kielbasi) always comes out right. Spicy mustard is available upon request, but it's hidden away. Less Than Great: When there's a band, it's LOUD. Good if you're there drinking, bad if they start playing in the middle of dinner with friends. The bbq is good, but not great (Smokin' Al's is *gasp* a little better). It often seems a little dry, especially the pulled pork. There are rarely any specials worth mentioning. ...I'm pretty much just looking for things to nitpick. Really, can I just give this place 5 stars, already?? It's just SOOOO close! read more

Excellent beer selection and guidance from our waitress... Like wine tasting with explanations and suggestions but without the pretentiousness. I had the Mo which is a pale ale from Maine, Bronx IPA, Palm and a PBR to round it off. All great beers except Pabst which was more to remind me of my poorer days. The chili and wings were smoky and awesome. The band Syncophant was talented and funky, though loud in this space. I have never yelped about chairs before but these are shaky and painful after 3 hours. Not cheap but I like this place overall which reminds you of antediluvian New Orleans. read more

Awesome bbq - in my opinion the best on Long Island. Some may say smokin' al's, but for my money bobbique is way more authentic, less slathered in sauce & much better quality overall. The brisket is amazing to the point that my family has started ordering several pounds of it for holiday dinners rather than making our own, which was damn good on it's own but nothing like what they have over here. The food was delicious, but we had to wait over an hour for a table because there was a concert at the venue next door and everyone had come here to pregame. The people who sat in the main dining area were cramped next to each other and the pregamers kept walking directly next to their tables... so close that they would bump into their arms as they tried to eat. As someone who's a bit of a germaphobe, I did not like the idea of so many people constantly hanging around someone else's meal. When our name was called and we were shown to our seats in this area, we said we would wait until something opened up in the back where there was no crowd. Overall, everything about this place was great EXCEPT for the massive crowd that interrupted people who were just trying to have a nice meal. I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant, but try to come at a time that isn't typically busy. To the managers: I highly recommend some sort of crowd control. It is unacceptable for drunk pregamers to be hovering over someone else as they try to eat. We wouldn't even have stayed if it weren't for every other restaurant in the neighborhood also being packed. read more

Fun place with lots of good beers on tap and bottle. A wide array of choices on the menu, and just about everything I have tried is good. Its not the coziest of places, but good eats and beer override that factor. Check their website for live music acts, lots of good authentic Blues. Wish I lived closer! Came on a Saturday, the place was alive and buzzing with hungry people who appreciate good beer! Did not mind the wait (45 minutes) as we got a spot at the bar and got to sampling the extensive beer selection. Much to my delight, they had quite a few options of IPAs. My kind of place! We ended up splitting a combo with 3 meats--BBQ pork, sausage, and short rib. Loved it all! The sweet potato fries and corn bread sides were awesome. Unfortunately the mac n cheese was bland and boring, for once I didn't finish it! Overall, this was a fun and lively place. A band was setting up just as we were leaving. Went here for a friend's birthday and sat in the back room. Servers were very nice and when I asked for what was on tap, the waitress showed me an index card of all the beers. I found this amusing, because there were a LOT on tap that I'm sure it would've been difficult to remember! She gave a couple recommendations too, when I told her what I liked to drink. Others had their mixed drinks served in mason jars, which I always like, and meals were served on aluminum trays which was cute. I'm giving 3 stars because the food really wasn't that special. I had the pulled chicken (a little dry), corn on the cob, and sweet potato fries (terrible). French fries were pretty good. We used to love this place for wings and sliders and great beer. Past few times just not up to par. Wings raw and slimmy cheese saturated our sliders. Grapefruit cocktail we had was rotten. Just had take out. I read an earlier review about the fried pickles. Having just moved back from Georgia I was pretty excited BUT Fried pickles were ok, I was expecting a lighter batter with cornmeal not what i ended up with. It was sooooo heavy, or rather heavier than it needed to be. Brisket that my husband got wasn't really brisket. More like sliced dry piece of beef. However I gave the three stars cause I got the pulled pork Memphis style sandwich with potato salad and it was decent. read more

2nd stop on Patchogue Halloween Spook-o-Rama Pub Crawl. This review is strictly for the bar area. I had eaten in this place quite a few years back and they had a silly policy in place where you ordered at the front counter and then rustled up your own table. Your food was brought out to you. Not sure if they are still doing that but it was so off putting to me I never went back there for food. Their bar area is very good if you are a beer drinker. They have many different beers on tap. They also have a ridiculous amount of bottled beer to offer. By my estimate there are well in excess of 100 different types. Our crawl group was into drinking the retro type beers if they are offered. You know, the crap that you drank back when you were a long haired kid. This place had PBR's and I think we sampled another, possibly Reingold. Naturally they have a fully stocked bar if you like mixed drinks. Overall the bar is good if you like sampling different types of beers. Maybe some day I'll try the dining area again. read more

I never ate at the restaurant before, maybe someday, but I just ate their catered food and overall it was okay. The pulled pork was great-tasting and excellently balanced. The chicken (thigh) is on the dry side and not as tasty...could have definitely used some bbq sauce for flavor and wetness. The spare ribs were dry also and not as soft, and could have used the same as the chicken. Both the chicken and the ribs should have probably been cooked in a lower heat for a longer time and more wetness to get that fall-off-the-bone meat. The fat didn't render off the ribs so you know they weren't cooked long enough. Maybe these are different in the restaurant, but I guess I'll have to find out when I eat there. read more
