My kiddo was in the mood for boba tea and this was right on our way as we headed out of the mall. It was fairly busy and had to wait to order on the screen. I think we also saw someone order in-person too, so that appears to be an option. There are no places to sit but a couple of "tables" available to stand for two groups but it would cramped for folks trying to order which isn't convenient. In addition to drinks, there were chips to purchase as well. We ordered the brown sugar boba tea. A plus was that we received the drink very quickly after ordering but the packaging, once the straw was put in, leaked if you didn't hold it perfectly straight until you drank it down a bit. Solid boba spot at Mall of America. I went when it used to be Uni Uni, but it doesn't feel like much changed. I love the variety of offerings and the fact that you can adjust your sugar levels and that there are some not-too-sweet options like fruit teas without boba or milk teas. I find that even at reduced sugar, other spots are still too sweet but they make it to my preference here. read more

Stumbled upon Uni Uni in the Mall of America. This chain is opening up in Milwaukee and I am very happy to have a taste test before they open. I am super excited that mochi donuts are getting more popular. If you like donuts or mochi, you will love a mochi donut. It is fluffy and chewy. A texture dream. I got the strawberry circus flavor and the frosting was sad and lacking. It would of been leveled up if the donut was actually sufficiently covered. The matcha tea with cheese foam was a hit. Came to Mall of America and walked past this shop. Decided to stop on in as we saw they were selling mochi donuts. We got the 6 for $18 variety box: fruity pebbles, churro, taro, circus cookie, strawberry, matcha. My favorite was the fruity pebbles and matcha. Fruity pebble had the perfect light crunch as a topping and the vanilla glaze wasn't overly sweet. With the matcha it wasn't too strong of a flavor which I like and prefer. It had the right amount of matcha flavor. Taro was good but the flavor was quite mild. Wish it was more taro forward. You can never go wrong with churro flavor as it's just sugar and cinnamon. It is a safe pick. Circus cookie did not remind me of the glazed circus cookies at all. Not bad and not overly sweet but definitely not reminiscent of glazed circus cookies. The strawberry was something. There is this top layer of strawberry dust which was overly sweet but it did taste like strawberry. If you're looking for something sweet and tart then this is for you. As for the texture, I love that the mochi donut was very light, airy but still had that chewy mochi texture you're looking for, but not overly chewy. I also love how they're ball shaped donuts so it's very easy to share and try all of them without having to take bites from it. You do have to order from the kiosk so it may take a minute to order especially on a busy day. Though when I went it was quite busy, the workers did a great job getting the drinks and orders out in a timely manner. read more

The only reason why I'm giving uni uni two stars instead of one is because they have one of my favorite boba drinks there. It's the soy black milk tea with soy milk cream foam. Literally never had a soy milk cap before until I came here, typically at most boba shops it's usually a dairy based cream foam cap. When I first tried it here, I was like what is this godly drink so I ended up coming back for it each time. At the time of opening, they had a deal if you spent more than X amount, you'd get a free boba drink holder and they said if you bring it back each trip youd get a 10 or 15% off discount. Welp, I definitely went back because I loved the soy milk foam topping and they refused to give me a discount when I brought the boba carrier with me. I even asked the manager and she had a huge attitude saying it was not valid anymore. To be frank, I thought I was scammed. Sadly this place could have been a top contender for my to-go boba shop in MN. read more

I was walking around the mall and saw so many people carrying around boba in the same container and I was thinking it looked so good but couldn't figure out where they got it from. I walked all around the food court and simply no luck even though so many people in the food court had it in their hands. Finally, as I was leaving the mall I just noticed it on the first floor by the exit to my car: the place where everyone was getting their bubble tea. I stopped in and ordered a Large Thai Tea with Cheesefoam (full sugar, less ice). It was so good. I really love cheesefoam and Uni Uni gave a generous amount and their Thai Tea was so delicious. My partner also got Thai Tea but with Boba, 80% sugar, and full ice. She also loved her beverage as well. Definitely some of the best Milk tea in the area and quite a wide selection. A lot of the signs are in Chinese and also English and communication can be a barrier with some of the people working so make sure to be patient and I recommend looking up questions on your phone before you get to the counter to make ordering easier! read more

The 4 star is with the caveat of it depends on what drink you get. Also had some 2 star opinions on their jasmine green tea latte that I'll outline below. The first time I went was within a couple weeks of their opening. We got the Oolong Milk Tea and Uni Fruit Combo Jasmine Green Tea. We had to wait for a while since the store was extremely busy and they only had a couple people working from what it seemed but the wait was understandable from the amount of people lining up. The Uni Fruit Combo Jasmine Green Tea was decent, maybe not my go-to drink there but still pretty good. The oolong tea was surprisingly good with decent tea flavor. Today I went again and we got the Jasmine Green Tea Latte and the Mango Yogurt with Crystal Boba. The Mango yogurt comprised of a bottom layer of yogurt, middle layer of mango, and top layer of milk. Looks really nice and aesthetic, but it was difficult to stir all the layers together and definitely got mouthfuls of straight yogurt. Once it was all mixed together though it was delicious. The Jasmine Green Tea Latte was a bit of a disappointment. The tea flavor was pretty good, but the experience was definitely severely impacted by the fact that the drink was half milk and was not shaken/mixed. It was difficult to stir the drink and so I ended up drinking mostly milk for the first half of the drink with pockets of sugar. Once I was able to mix it properly about halfway through the drink it wasn't bad, but I already had to go through 1/2 a drink of overly milky jasmine milk tea. I probably won't be getting this drink again and will try other ones. read more

I have been wanting to find a boba or bubble place for so long! I like how you can order through the electronic device in the store. You can add toppings and the menu shows pictures, which is great! I preferred more of the fruit drinks versus the milk teas, because I thought the milk teas had too much milk, without a lot of the flavor. First time trying Uni Uni tea. They are founded in Chicago IL and has 5 locations specializing in bubble tea. Their bubble tea is made by high quality ingredients and aim to be more healthy. There was a huge crowd gathered outside this location but don't be discouraged, most of everyone was just waiting for their drinks and it goes fast! I got in line and ordered a Kyoto Matcha with cheese foam and a Honeydew Yakult. I'm obsessed with matcha and it's health benefits and thought this drink was more like a cold latte. The cheese foam was actually salty on top, didn't particularly like the taste of it but I mixed it into the drink. If you are looking for a refreshing drink, I do recommend the honeydew Yakult. Its a deep melon green drink and just quenches your thirst! Enjoy the drinks knowing that this company also donates to local non profits, use sustainable merchandise, fair wages, etc. read more

Solid bubble tea with an astoundingly atrocious way to order. You order at these kiosks, and people are people, so there is no pre-order preparation. So while folks are at the kiosks, they are taking FOREVER to order. Also, there are too many choices of ways to modify/customize. I've been here three times, and my average wait time to order has been 15 minutes. And I'm not made at the people, there just are too many choices, and the navigation menu is hard. Also, the way you queue in the store is totally confusing - as a result people jump the line frequently. The tea itself is good, but not worth it. I would never come here again, if not for the kids wanting the tea. This last visit was the straw, however, and I'll promise them bubble tea anywhere else to avoid this place. read more

thought i'd make a stop to get some boba before heading out the mall. unfortunately, uni uni is not a quick stop. sorry but i'm never waiting over 45 minutes for boba again. i ordered at 3:00. kept waiting. it's so chaotic in there that people don't even know where to wait or where to order. they're pretty understaffed with 2 people on bar and 1 on cashier, but sometimes they switch up positions? all the workers seemed so stressed with ingredients not ready, the cashier wasn't working, and so on. they keep going in and out of the back door. i ordered the kyoto matcha milk tea with cheese foam and a lychee peach green tea. i saw my matcha sitting there for over 15min, but for some reason they can't make drinks for the same order at once. asked for the second drink to be made. basically they're understaffed with ingredients not ready. u get they're new but i don't think i'll go back until 2 years when they have it together. anyways it's 3:45 and i just got my drinks. my drinks are made wrong. You can adjust the level of ice and sweetness. The cup it comes in is a nice quality that can be reusable.
