Staff was friendly and everything looked clean. There are a lot of cute knickknacks, pins, and gift items to look at while waiting in line or waiting for your order. After placing my order, my drink came out quickly. I ordered my usual: iced green tea with strawberry and honey; and it tasted just how I expected! hooray for consistency across locations! I can't recall there being a place to sit within the sencha, since it is at the mall and is a bit smaller. However, there's a food court close by if you're looking to get a drink and chat or take a rest.

My reviews are so naughty I often need a CENSOR With lots of sexy references - Barbie is my MENTOR I just spew crap onto the laptop, then hit ENTER But if you want Boba in the Mall, go to SENCHA WHAT! This is a pretty average location of Sencha and it's bizarrely located inside the Mall of America. Yes this Mall is so enormous that it even has its own bubble tea shop with its own seating and everything. They have a whole staff in here. And I'm not talking about the Staff of Ra which Indy used to find the location of the Well Of Souls where the Ark of the Covenant was buried. I'm not sure how any staff can actually work in this Mall considering how hard it is to get in and out of. Must be a nightmare. They seemed pretty friendly, and one of the guys here definitely had a crush on me big time. Gave me the eyes and all of that. One of the employees I mean. Some of the girls were friendly and some of them, not. The drink was decidedly average. I much preferred the drink made by the Sencha at the University of Minnesota, but this one is a much better location than the one in Uptown (even though they have the cool mural and the best seating and everything going for them), where they cost me $100 - not even exaggerating. You can read that story on their own Yelp page. And without further ado, it's time I Sencha over to my next review.

This place was fantastic! I had my friend's kids with me and we needed something for a little snack and I wanted them to try something new and different. I wasn't sure of the ordering process but the girls behind the counter were SUPER amazing at explaining and offering amazing suggestions. I got some sort of tropical tea with the tapioca pearls and it was so good! The 15 year old got a white tea flavored with pineapple and strawberry jellies and she LOVED it! The 12 year old boy has food dye allergies, so I knew that tea was ok, but he couldnt have any flavorings added so the girl behind the counter went above and beyond to help find a flavorful tea that he could have and would like. She suggested some sort of wild berry something they had "on tap". I asked to add the tapioca pearls (knowing they didnt have any food dyes in them) but she wouldn't add them to the order until she had checked the ingredients to be SURE they had no dyes... in a world where few people actually care about others, I was overjoyed that she made the effort to do that even though I already knew they were safe... in the end he loved the tea but hated the texture of the pearls so in the trash they went lol... but you never know unless you try, right? I have previously walked past this store many times, but now I will make it a frequent stop. Thanks for amazing service!

Out of all the thirst options inside the Mall of America, hands down Sencha was the most reasonable both in pricing and satisfying my boba obsession. As a chain boba shop, I wasn't expecting a whole lot. It's placement inside a giant mall doesn't make it seem any better, but I was surprised to find some good quality thirst quenchers from my visit. I ordered a Guava/Pomegranate flavor mixed ice slushie with boba. Definitely aim for a fruity flavored drink since they do not use any fresh fruits in their blends. If you go for items like taro, expect to taste some of the powder remnants in the drink if they don't blend it correctly. Overall, a good pitstop during your mall shopping spree. Enjoy!

I'm from San Francisco and there are so many boba places around here. I saw this place at the mall and saw they served boba so I had to try it. I ordered the Island ice tea with the tapioca pearls. It came out green and I took one sip and it was delicious. The boba was soft and not too chewy, just how I like it. I would definitely get this drink again.

Thai milk tea and peach black tea

I love Sencha. Always have and always will. There's a huge lack of bubble tea in the twin cities but Sencha helps to fill that void. When you visit, you can choose from about two dozen favors. It's glorious. My favorites are Thai tea and lychee black tea. Also note you can change sweetness levels to suit your taste, as bubble teas tend to come pretty sweet. I recently went for their Thai tea and left it as is and it was super super sweet. Next time I'm going to have to go for 50% sugar. Sencha used to be Tea Garden and they have at least four locations in the Twin Cities that I know of (MOA, Grand Ave, Uptown, and Woodbury).

Cheers to the delicious sencha tea bar!

At first I was incredibly sad not to see the tea garden listed in the mall directory. Then I realized that they had changed over to sencha tea bar and was relieved! Obviously am an out-of-towner. My usual used to be the Royal tea as a shake. Decided to try the Amazon chai tea latte with a shot of vanilla iced. So good! The chai has a spiced flavor to it. I will definitely be getting it again the next time I stop into the twin cities area. My only complaint is that it can take awhile to be served when it's either busy or the orders in front of you are a bit more intensive.

Tried Sencha at the Mall and was extremely disappointed. The tapioca pearls were hard and chewy. I would not recommend it.

I used to live in the area and when the small coffee shop opened I was so exited to have that in our community and was happy to support them - even if some coffee beverages were top dollar. I was in the area today, and decided to stop in since I no longer live in the area and wanted to enjoy a good brew. Unfortunately, the experience I had left me leaving with a bitter taste in my mouth - and it wasn't from the coffee. I thought it goes without saying, but when a customer greets you, you should greet them back, not just stare. It would be even better if your staff would greet each customer first - make them feel welcome. Maybe I'm a millennial channeling boomer energy, but for years I'm noticing the customer service disappearing from a lot of businesses. I love that connection, but I'm understanding that some people see only a paycheck and skid by with minimal customer service and that is the new way. I don't plan to visit this establishment again. I wish the barista with star tattoos would have put in enough customer service energy that she did with her impeccable makeup.

First things first--the vibe is chef's kiss if you're into cozy, low-key, intentional spaces. It's quaint without trying too hard, and it doesn't have that loud, chaotic coffee shop energy. I was actually able to focus, which says a lot. Now what really sets this place apart? It's tucked inside Zawadi Center, and that matters. This isn't just a grab-your-drink-and-go type of café. You're surrounded by culture, community, and a space that feels like it means something. Between the event space, the restaurant, and the overall energy, it feels layered... like you accidentally found a hidden gem that locals want to keep to themselves. The refresher? Solid. Did what it needed to do. No complaints there. If I had to give a little Yelp Elite honesty: seating can be a bit limited depending on timing, and if you're someone who needs complete silence, this might not be your spot when it gets busier. It's more "focused but alive" than "library quiet." Overall, this is the kind of place you come to reset, get a little inspired, and maybe romanticize your life for a couple hours. Will I be back? Absolutely.

Being at Mall of America, you are never terribly far from a Caribou Coffee. There are six of them. The problem? Trying to figure out which one to check in to on the Yelp app is super confusing. My second check-in attempt was correct. Yay! This cafe is steps away from Radisson Blu Hotel, which is connected to the mall. I would find it both cool and deadly to roll out of bed in the morning and head over to this Caribou Coffee. It's also next to J. Jill, by Nickelodeon Universe. If you spot any one of these three places, you're near this cafe. The downside of this cafe is that it closes at 3 pm on weekdays and 4 pm on weekends. Considering that the stores at this mall tend to stay open between 7 and 9 pm, cutting it short so early is a concern. There was a lineup when I got to this cafe. I stood in line. It did move relatively quickly. I got a friendly woman at the counter. She took down my phone number associated with my perks points. I then ordered a large sparkling peach black tea. I paid with a credit card. I also tipped. Done! As I waited for my drink, I browsed around. I liked the drinkware and mugs at this store. There were plenty of snacks that looked yummy and intriguing. My drink didn't take long to be prepared. I thanked the woman when I got my drink in a Christmas-themed cup and looked for a place to sit. I oddly didn't feel cozy sitting on padded stools without any back support. Instead, there were comfy couch chairs in front of this store, so I sat there and enjoyed my drink. I loved my drink. It was perfect and fizzy. I actually sat in this cozy chair for an hour, casually sipping on my drink and figuring out which stores to shop at next. My experience was positive at this cafe. I'd return whenever I'm on the second floor and in this part of the mall. (469)
