Indigo Tea is easily one of the best tea spots in the Twin Cities. Their chocolate masala chai is incredible and honestly one of the best chai drinks I've ever had. The matcha is also amazing and made authentically, which you can really taste in the quality. They clearly take a lot of pride in how their drinks are prepared. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, which makes it such a nice place to slow down and enjoy your tea. You can sit at traditional tea tables on tatami mats, shoes off, which adds to the whole experience and makes it feel very intentional and relaxing. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They also have a wonderful selection of loose leaf teas, kettles, mugs, and other tea accessories for sale. What a find! I was visiting the Cities and had "find a tea shop and stock up on loose tea" on my list when I found Indigo Tea Co after a bit of looking through search results. It was a hot day and I had other things accomplish, so I didn't stay and get a cup of tea, but I was impressed with the wide selection of teas they have. The station with samples smell of each of the varieties was helpful (a must-have for a good tea shop, IMO) and I elected to get a few bags with teas from different regions to have back at home. This is our new go to when we are in Minnesota. Their jasmine fruit tea (iced) is amazing. Service is great. Located in a plaza so easy parking. Love that they have "kids size" smoothie. Only fantastic things to say about this place. I discovered it through fellow boba tea lovers, and I'm so glad I did. The staff is incredibly kind and accommodating, and the environment is warm and cozy. On top of that, it's a very calm, serene vibe where you can sit down at a tea table (shoes off) and enjoy the ambiance. I've been here a few times with friends, and it is such a fantastic bubble tea spot. They have a ton of options, and they all taste amazing. Some of my favorite things include: - The bamboo straws: so fun to drink out of and honestly better than plastic straws - The environment: so relaxing and cute, and it's fun to look at the shop items while waiting in line - The timers: after you order, they give you a sand timers and tell you to come back to the front when it finishes. Came looking for another work from home place, found a really neat tea shop that has decent boba, good wifi, and a good chai as well. A little out of the way for me, and there isn't a ton of seating but was able to find a spot easily. They have a ton of different teas that on a day with no self control I would have bought at least 3 different bags. I recently moved to Burnsville from Las Vegas, where we have a plethora of amazing tea options. I was so excited to find Indigo Tea Co. right outside my neighborhood, but I thought there was no way it would measure up to my past yea experiences. Boy, was I wrong! As soon as I stepped through the door, I fell in love with the place. I love that there is a merchandise section that separates the tables from the counter. This is the perfect place to buy a unique gift for the tea (or coffee) lover in your circle! They have two cute, traditional floor-seating tables up by the window and plenty of other tables as well. I saw several people set up with their computers for a quiet and peaceful workspace. This place is so zen! The staff is really great! It is locally-owned by a husband and wife team who also work there. The last time I was in, I noticed some awesome-sounding special drinks advertised, and he said his wife makes up all the drinks and recipes. I can't wait to try an earl grey granita on a hot day! Now, on to the most important information...I have been here twice and tried two drinks. One was an iced London fog latte and the other was the chocolate chai. Both drinks were perfectly flavored and sweet (but not too sweet, thank goodness!). I loved them both. I have also tried the pastries. It's not even a traditional boba shop - not by a long shot. Atypical in every sense. Which just proves you don't have to follow any rules or standards in order to have great Boba. I've seen lots of these little "classic cute teahouses" fail at Boba, and usually, fail miserably. This one succeeds spectacularly. They're just a little tea and coffee shop, owned by a couple, and I think one of them is white American and one of them is Japanese-American - or something like that. But their Boba is exemplary with wonderful tapioca pearls that are a little bit more squishy and different and tasty to those served by others, combined with perfect, genuine service, and excellent fruit teas that don't taste only of sugar (like many fruit teas do), which is a real credit to them and a testament to how excellent the products are here. It's a beautiful space to hang out in, as well, and I mean really, really lovely. Lots of cute people hang out here, to make it even more lovely. It has a bunch of different sections to it including those lovely little spots by the window where you can sit down and drink your tea and coffee. With no chairs - just like sitting on the floor type thing. Authentic Japanese style seating, you might say. I think it's called Zashiki. Low table and you sort of lay on the floor/cushions. With cushions and whatnot. Adorable! An alternate review I wrote of this place, at the time: As it turns out this is actually my favourite bubble tea place in all of Minnesota. There are quite a few Boba spots in Minneapolis and Kung Fu tea in Dinkytown is probably the best of them... the best, that is, except for this little place hidden way down south in the wooded Burnsville-Eagan area. What's great about this place is that it has a wonderful husband-and-wife owner team that fresh-make their wonderful delicious wholesome teas and mix them with very delicate and not-hyper-sweet flavors that make for a very wonderful and unique and different boba tea experience. Definitely one of the better ones I've had anywhere. Easily a five-star place and the design of the place is really lovely as well. Indigo tea is the dream boba shop! You're welcomed in with relaxing music and a zen atmosphere. Once you order there is a gift shop area to browse while you wait for your drink. Tea is very good and taste better than the usual chain boba shops. I've been going to this place for years, and the owners are very passionate in what they do. Cute little tea shop in our neighborhood. A couple of our friends have recommended this place several times since we moved to Burnsville and finally had the opportunity to go visit. We ordered some bubble tea and it was delightful! The cashier was certainly patient as we took in the small store, all of the teas they offered and the menu. While I loved the tea, I wasn't as big of a fan of the jellies we had added as much as my fiance was, so I will likely forego that on our next visit or maybe try the boba instead! We also purchased a sample pack of some loose leaf tea and recently tried our first one (Evening in Missoula) and it was delightful. While the prices are a little high for the amount you get, you have to remember it is a small business and the little extra you pay is worth it to keep small businesses in business. One of the only two boba places in Minnesota worth going to. The other being Kung Fu Tea. Indigo Tea Company is located in Burnsville, so it isn't in the cities by any means. However, this place is worth going to if you want some good tea and boba. The tea is pretty good. I usually get milk tea or almond milk tea. The sweetness is usually pretty good. Some might say it's a tad too sweet, but I'm okay with it. The boba is good, but not as good as kung fu tea in terms of sweetness and texture. Some days are better than others, but every now and then the boba lacks taste. The service is not the greatest, especially if you're not happy with your order. Two of the many times I've been here, I asked for less sugar. They mess up both times, even though I clearly emphasize the less sugar at ordering. The manager can be somewhat rude about it, but he'll re-make it for you. Overall, if I'm in the area, I wouldn't mind stopping here for boba, but I wouldn't drive all the way over here for it. I have driven 40 min here and back (several times) because the royal milk tea is just that good. Really, it's the PERFECT boba tapioca pearls that make this the best place in the twin cities for bubble tea. Yes, I said it. I've tried about 6 different bubble tea shops and this is by far the best. The system of going up to the drive thru window, calling to place the order, and using a stick for the card payment is a bit wonky but it works. One time my cell phone was dead and they were kind enough to take my order on a slip of paper. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I also fell in love with their allergen friendly Kakookies. These are great for both of my kids (gluten, dairy, soy free) and I enjoy the flavor a lot. Even my baby likes to have a couple bites. It's definitely worth the drive. Someday I'll have to try the other kinds as well...it's just hard to step away from the perfection of their traditional milk tea. read more

Tea is apparently a big deal, as I realized when I walked into Indigo and saw all of the tea-related utensils, apparatuses, and accessories. It was pretty insightful, and I admired freaking precious cat teacups and fish-shaped spoon holders. Then I snapped out of it and worked my way to the counter to order some boba tea. Service was kind and enthusiastic! I was able to customize an iced milk boba tea: black milk tea with lavender flavoring and boba, and with less sugar. After paying for your oder at the register, they give you a little old-school sand timer, to cue when you should return for your order. I think it's just a minute or two. My tea was perfect - not too sweet but sweet enough, with bold yet smooth notes of lavender, and chewy boba pearls. I liked it so much I got another order to go, which was prepared special with the boba separate in syrup so it wouldn't harden. For seating, there are movable tables, booths, chairs, and little stations where you take off your shoes and sit on big pillows at a low tea table. However, we couldn't find an outlet to plug in a charger, so it might not be ideal for working for a long period of time. It starts to fill up in the afternoon. They staff was very helpful in selecting a tea and advice on iced teas. I'm guessing it was the owner or manager. They do have all their teas in tins you can smell to help you pick your tea. The store is well organized and clean. They have lots of seating and a couple neat low tables up front. I'm definitely not flexible to sit at these. Lol. Burnsville has some nice tea and coffee options in this area. If you like tea, this is a great option. My only take is I wish they had some later hours and some soft seat options. This is definitely a hidden gem in the southwest suburbs of the Twin Cities! Honestly, if my friend had not worked here, I probably wouldn't have found it. However, I'm so glad I did and I can't stop coming here! The best bubble/boba teas that I've ever had have been from West Coast and although I haven't found anything quite like it in Minnesota, Indigo Tea comes quite close! Indigo Tea Company is a cute little tea shop off of Hwy 13 in Burnsville. It's tucked back a bit off the road so it's pretty easy to miss but keep your eye out for it - it's next to an Aldi's! The shop is owned by a husband and a wife who are both very sweet. They are there everyday so if you go there as often as I do, they'll learn to recognize you and remember your favorite drinks! The atmosphere is quiet and cozy. They have plenty of seating - there are a couple of window seats where you have to take off your shoes and get to sit on pillows on the floor like the traditional formal way of sitting in Japan, which I find really awesome! As for the drinks, you really can't go wrong with any of the choices! The Royal Milk Tea, Thai Tea, Vanilla Chai, and Chocolate Chai are a few of my personal favorites. This is by far the best tea place there is. The tea is always piping hot (or cold since I get an iced chocolate chai latte with rainbow jellies) and the pastries are always yummy. They have samples of tea, which you can smell, so you can figure out which tea you want before you even buy them. Then, they have a bunch of cute cups and other miscellaneous things that you may need when you get tea. Lastly, they have tea that you can buy and bring home so you can make tea from the comfort of your own home. So, the basics of a tea place are covered. Even when it comes to atmosphere, the place is amazing. They have wifi, these super cute sit-down-and-take-your-shoes-off seats (called tatamis), and the best staff ever! Everyone is super friendly there and it's nice to be able to go somewhere and do homework either after school or on the weekends. The staff is so helpful and they can help you find whichever type of tea or pastry you desire at that particular moment. The prices are even relatively cheap for a stand-alone tea company. With their punch cards, you can buy 10 teas and get one free! Basically, everything about Indigo Tea Company is wonderful.
