My friend took me out to Hmong Village to check out some craft supply vendors. We decided to grab a drink and some snacks. My friend told me that Blueberry had a really good drink called Strawberry Summer. We got that and my other friend ordered Brown sugar boba. The drinks were fairly priced (cash only), and good. Located within Hmong village in the back where all of the food stands are, across one of the soup places is this Boba spot. My friends that are local said that they're caramel delight is one of there better flavors, it has ice blended with milk, caramel pudding, and boba pearls. It's a pretty large cup but very refreshing and not too sweet if you're afraid it's too sweet. They made the drinks pretty quickly and it's perfect to get after having a full meal at Hmong Village. Service is also very quick and it's just a store front, not sure if it's cash only but a lot of the vendors there are cash only. I would try any of of their other drinks on the menu, their strawberry summer looks good and they have additional toppings that can also be added. read more

Not to be confused with an outdated phone that every Middle Class person on earth once had (Blackberry), the official fruit of Top Gun (Gooseberry), a deadly fruit (Boisonberry), a real disaster of a fruit (Razz-berry), the Cranberries fave berry (Linger-nberry), or Berry Menilow, or Berry Senders, or Berry Gordy, or Drew Berry-more. So let's start off by explaining: they don't have Bubble Tea. They don't have Boba Tea. They only serve Smoothies. Ice Blended drinks. That's it. That's all. No tea. No tea. No tea. People really don't have a clue, do they? Okay, now that we got that out of the way. I wasn't too thrilled by anything about this place. The prices are on the high side. They charge extortionate amounts for extras. The rave reviews are way overstated. Suspicious, even. Several seem fake but maybe that's just me being paranoid. It's really the only place (out of hundreds) in this amazing indoor market that has any reviews (although I did my part to fix that, and put tons of others on Yelp). And the products are very bland and very average. It doesn't seem very Taiwanese - in fact it couldn't be any more Americanized if it tried. I don't understand the hype. Maybe they hired a hype man. Then there was the line. We're talking about the 10 or 15 minute wait for average smoothies with chewy tasteless Boba and they were too expensive as well. Generally speaking, a really bad Boba place scores a 3. And I'd probably have given 3, despite their passive-aggressive, nasty signs all over the place. And other than said signs, they were friendly enough, and they're a family business, so I can't really go lower than that usually. But considering the insane hype and the near-monopoly of tons of 5-star reviews, I'd say that "overrated" drives it down to 2 stars where it probably belongs. Maybe now some more 5-star reviews will spring up and take it back "up where they belong" like Debra Winger. As for this comment from another reviewer: "Hands down the best boba tea that you will find in the Midwest or anywhere in the states." Let me not refute it, but let me just state: Blueberry only serves smoothies. They only serve smoothies. They. Only. Serve. Smoothies. So cheap and so good. I ordered the milk tea with boba, which I think was only $3 bucks. Such a good deal. Some bubble tea places charge soooo much these days. The price was spot on and the flavor was really good. It reminds me more of a Hong Kong milk tea which I really like. It is one of the better milk teas I have had in Minnesota. I do not go to the Hmong Village much. But I would say it is worth it to come back for this milk tea. The boba/tapioca pearls were really soft and fresh. I am not sure if you can adjust the sweetness, I didn't ask. The only thing I would say was that the milk tea was a bit too sweet for me. But, nonetheless delicious. I've had bubble tea where it tasted like Italian ice cream and ones that tasted like milk. The prices are perfect for a cup of boba tea. Blueberry has the best, seriously the best boboa teas and smoothie. The flavor is always consistent and my children loves it all! We've about tried every flavor on the menu and our favorites are coconut, taro, vanilla milk tea, regular milk tea, sometimes strawberry, and the summer special drink. Was out riding my bike one day and came across Hmong Village on Johnson Parkway in St. Paul, Minnesota. Went in to look around. Used to see people drinking Boba tea at the the Hmong soccer tournament, but never had the guts to try it. My first time at Blueberry, I tried the Strawberry and it was great. Did not know what I have been missing. Great flavor, love the little balls in the drink. It was nice they had the plastic seal on top so I could walk around and still drink. The guys behind the counter were really nice and friendly. Knew their stuff and helped me choose. I have since gone back a few more times and they have even remembered me, which always impresses me in a business. My new favorite is Strawberry Cheesecake. I always see this place with long lines and now I know why. They are definitely the best place around for boba and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! I know what boba tea tastes like from SoCal and this is very comparable, if not even better than most places. So far I have only tried the bobas and milk teas. They do have another drink but I haven't tried it yet. Bobas are great! A bit tad sweeter for my liking but I love that they have the jelly option for people who don't enjoy the tapioca pearls. Best Bubble tea in the cities for cold drinks. A little inconvenient to get to because it's inside Hmong Village shopping mall, which has horrendous parking, but the trek out to the heart of the East Side of St. Paul is worth it. Don't even try any of the other Bubble tea stands, you'll regret it. Just go straight to Blueberry, you'll thank me later. Only gripe is I think the milk teas are a little overpriced and I can't tell why, but I usually go for the smoothies. Be sure to check out the fried banana stand next door. Blueberry is located within Hmong Village (an indoor flea market with fresh locally grown produce, a large deli/food court, and random goods for sale).
