This was one of the first places we checked out when we moved to the area and come here all the time for their amazing baked goods! I'm a huge fan of their cream cheese bread, it's so soft and fluffy with just a little whipped cream cheese in the center that gives it a counterbalance to the sweet buttery bread. I hadn't been back in a long time as we've ventured out a bit more and found there are soo many bubble tea shops in Brooklyn park and Brooklyn center but when it comes to Asian baked goods, sweet percent is always in the top three for sure! The drinks can be hit or miss, I got the mango milk tea today and it was actually mango orange in color - it felt like more of a mango yogurt drink that was watered down than actual milk tea that was mango flavored. The drink I got here, the mango pomelo sago, SO GOOD!! I'd definitely come back for that. The pastries however... the bread was tough for my pork floss bun and the ham and cheese bun I got was burnt to the point I couldn't take anything but "burnt". I arrived around 1p, and sadly, a lot of the options were gone. Get there early! I'm not sure if the items are made in-house or elsewhere. Nonetheless, what I got tasted fine. However everything seemed to use the same base, milk bread. Before going I didn't realize that would be the case. The loaf of milk bread was good and I was able to use it many ways. I love how they have a cute bakery section along with the drinks, a lot of boba places don't have that. The staff was also kind and really fast with the drinks. I of course had to go get some bread and try a few things and I loved them! My favorite is the coconut heart with the soft milk bread and coconut flavoring! I got the avocado pomelo sago smoothie and I loved it! It has a few pieces of mango and what tasted like rice pudding in it (I was surprised) and it was delicious! A few things that come to mind when I think of sweet percent is clean, bright, and organized. The bakery section is easy to navigate (and tasty to say the least). This is located at a strip mall and it appears they are expanding, which is exciting! There is plenty of parking! The inside of this place is SUPER cute! There are benches to sit at while you wait for your drink to be made but no additional seating inside. They sell sweet and savory items as well as bubble/ milk teas. Everything was packaged individually. I got 2 sweet bread options. They tasted like a Hawaiian sweet roll but ever better!! The coconut on both just made these taste amazing! The butter cream on the inside of the coconut butter cream bun was light and airy! It tasted like a whipped butter and was amazing with the bread! The strawberry milk tea had an overly fake strawberry taste and I didn't care for that much. I would happily go back and try another flavor. The service here was so/so and I felt rushed when trying to order my drink. No one was smiling or felt approachable. The adorable decor and packaging made up for that. Since Bubble Tea was in the name I had to try it, going with a recommendation with half the sugar from my server. The bubble tea was very good and I'd recommend it - there are flavors and sweetness levels to suit any taste buds. I especially enjoyed the sweet breads from the display case. I brought danish-type of bread with peach filling and another with coconut filling to a party and everyone who tasted it liked it and asked where I got it. In addition, I bought a loaf of the Coconut Sweet Bread and brought it home - it had great coconut flavoring with just the right level of sweetness, making great sandwiches for several days. While I didn't try any on this trip since we had just eaten lunch, they also offered a number of single-serving savory offerings, which would be great for lunch. A cute little place with a bakery located in a strip. I went early on a Sunday morning so there was still plenty of bakery items to choose from. I got three different things from the bakery and they were all delicious. Also tried the Mango Milk tea which was also delicious. Staff was really friendly and helpful. I've been wanting to check out this Chinese bakery and bubble tea spot for quite some time so I was super excited when I was in the area for errands. I've tried other Asian self-serve bakeries like this and I have to say this one is one of my new favorites. Although the shop isn't in the nicest looking area on the outside, the inside was beautifully decorated and the smell of fresh bread instantly hits your senses as soon as you walk through the door. They have a wide selection of self-serve flavored breads that you can place on the tray and bring to the cashier. At the cashier they have a menu set up on an iPad as well as on the wall behind them. Makes it useful to browse through the menu without straining your eyes! I tried the Taro bubble tea with fresh tapioca pearls and it was sooo delicious. Not watered down and came in this nice hard plastic cup with a lid and hole for boba straw. The tapioca pearls were warm so I knew they were just made. They were chewy and perfectly sweet. As for breads I got the cream cheese filled bread upon recommendation by the cashier as well as the pineapple bread. Both were lightly sweetened, fluffy, and delicious. Love this Asian bakery! The items were fresh and thee assortment was huge! The teas were different from what I've ever seen or tasted. I got a "Cheese Jasmine Green Tea." I know "Cheese" sounds weird but it was the flavored cream or froth on-top of the drink and it was like the best part. Crazy! I saw this gem pop up on Instagram and immediately knew I needed to get there. Sweet Percent is a lovely Chinese bakery and boba tea/other drink spot. You'll find a case of fresh baked sweet and savory goods, and, a wonderful drink menu. They also do specialty cakes. I purchased a loaf of coconut toast and a fruity boom, more specifically, the Orange Boom. The drink had loads of oranges in it, and I think a magic elixir, because it was amazing. I took the coconut toast home and cut off a slice to eat plain. There's a wonderful hint of sweetness and you'll find some coconut flakes there as well. It's so good, ya'll. I absolutely can't wait to go back and try more of the beverages. The lovely person behind the counter was so friendly, and, she's the one that painted the fantastic mural on the wall. So talented! So so so delicious! I got the pineapple bun and the bread was so fluffy and the filling was just right, not too sweet but the portion was great, and tasted delightful. I've been to many Asian bakeries growing up on the west coast such as sunmerry, 85 degrees, paris baguette, and let me say the one at sweet percent is one of the best I ever had and to compared to those mass produced chains. There's not many modern Asian bakeries to choose from in the cities so I'm glad that sweet percent exists and executes their buns with excellence! read more

Yum! We stopped in to get a little snack to hold us over for lunch. This place did not disappoint! So many sweet and savory breads/pastries to choose from. There is also a wide variety of drinks to choose from too. We had pineapple bread, chocolate bread, mango smoothie with boba and strawberry smoothie. Pineapple bread - soft with a pineapple filling. It was very good. The filling was more of a paste consistency but delicious. Chocolate bread - soft bread with chocolate baked into the braids and sprinkled on top. Not to say anything negative about this restaurant, but it has to be evaluated in the context of having minimal competition. We ate one of nearly all the breads / bakery items and our tummies were happy and content. They were delightful to have in MSP, but certainly not the very best we have ever had. I'd like to preface this by saying I'm a boba enthusiast... or you can call me a boba snob - either works. Any boba tea shop that is within a 25 mile radius of the Twin Cities, I've been there. Multiple times too. I have no shame for my love for boba and as usual while running errands, a craving for boba always emerges. This time I was in the Brooklyn Park area. I decided to embark on a journey to figure out which boba tea shop would be closest to my location that wasn't Tii Cup. This was when Sweet % popped up on the list. Having never heard of them before, I was beyond curious and excited. However, the average reviews had me weary... 3.5 stars for boba? Uh oh, this usually isn't a good thing. There are reasons that make boba not so excellent: use of too much non-dairy creamer that leaves an oily residue on your lips and cup, powdery boba base that has not been stirred completely and leaves clumps in the drink, boba that is overly soft and mushy, boba that is way too hard to bite through, drinks whose ratio of tea and milk is not in harmony, boba that is too heavy in artificial syrup, and boba where the standard sweetness makes me feel like I'm about to become a type 2 diabetic. Sweet % did not make any of these errors at all. I ordered the Brown Sugar Boba and was beyond impressed. The flavors were all present, the drink was torched, the crema on top was heavenly. Boba was the right amount of chew and softness. I honestly have to rank this place's boba on my top 3 list now (alongside with Mumu Tea & Ding Tea). I also loved how there wasn't much ice in it, meaning I can have even more boba to enjoy. The cup it was in was sturdy and a cute heart topper made it even more perfect. Also, this has to be one of the cutest Asian bakeries ever (I think it's Tawainese but I could be wrong). I fell in love immediately. Everything is just so dainty and cute. It's the type of small corner-store Bakery you'd expect to see in a TV series in Asia. The flowery decor is subtle - lots of light refracting around the store. To make it even more perfect - even the pastry chef looked like a textbook pastry chef. The bread and pastries were reminiscent of what you'd find in Japan; they were all packaged nicely and cleanly. They had a strawberry roll that I will need to try next time I'm there. Instead I decided to pick up the sausage bread, coffee cake, and salted yolk toast. It was all amazing - good texture, good flavor, and aesthetically adorable. The coffee cake was definitely a favorite - very subtle, moist, and not overly sweet at all. We came later in the morning so a lot go the bakery was gone, if bakery is your goal coming here than recommend you get there early. Overall, pricing is a bit high for items from what I am used to similar bakeries that can be found on the West coast. Flavor wise, most of the bread items we got were good. I really like the taro items they had. As for their drink options, authentic but not worth it. It took them a really long time to make two drinks. It may be because they are newer and their staff needs time to get used to making drinks but there was no communication from staff while we were waiting. My husband got the brown sugar boba tea and I got a mango drink. The mango drink was bland and so was the brown sugar boba tea. Not the flavors we are used to and was very disappointed due to the fact cost of these drinks are higher compared to other shops. I wouldn't waste your time on the drinks. It's very pretty inside. They got dessert inside you can grab and look at. The only problems is that when you get the drinks, they dont put ice in it. It must because we have to ask, but my drink is not cold like how i thought it would be. They took too long to make our drinks. That is why i gave them a three star review. Everything I've had from the bread to the boba drinks have been good but I may not get the drinks anymore which is so sad because they're so good. Would've said 4 stars but dropped it one because of what I saw on one visit. One of the employees had to do a smell test on one of the ingredients he put in one of my drinks. There wasn't much left in the container but he smelled it and put some more water in and voila-it was good? Anyway, I didn't want to say anything and still drank it but was hoping I wouldn't get sick. LOL. I don't know what health or best practices are when it comes to certain ingredients but maybe write a made date or best by date on the container for precooked ingredients just like you guys do on your breads. read more

Breads are pretty dense instead of light and fluffy like they should be. I tried the pineapple bun, the taro bun, and the coconut cream bun. There was a weird aftertaste to the buns and their fillings. My partner and I also got an orange boom (?) and a mango slush to try. We spent $40+ for 4 buns and 2 drinks... which would have been worth it if we were able to consume some of it. It all went in the trash after one bite/sip. I was really hoping for this place to be at least ok so that I'd have a place to go to when craving pineapple buns. I wasn't expecting this to be like the Asian bakeries in CA, NYC, and TX but I was hoping for things to be passable/edible. If you just moved from a place with a good Asian bakery then know that the food and drinks are maybe a 1.5 or a 2 on its best day. Everything tasted like it was a day old. Service was ok. A few things. Sweet Percent bread and cakes are also sold at Shuang Hur on University Ave in St. Paul. The offerings are pretty much the same, and the prices are pretty much the same, so if you can't make the drive up to Brooklyn Park, you still have an accessible spot centrally in the TC to get their stuff. The pastry offerings are overall different to Keefer Court in MPLS. There is some overlap (pineapple bun, coconut bun, etc.), but you really can't compare the two establishments. That said (and as mentioned), some of their bread offerings are unique. You won't find your pork buns, curry buns, egg tarts, etc. that Keefer Court has to offer. However, it doesn't mean that they're not good. Their bread and buns are what makes Sweet Percent shine. I give props to their use of pork floss, which (with other ingredients, like mayonnaise or salted egg yolk) really does a great job at giving their inherently slightly sweet buns some contrasting savory notes. They also have some rolls that use scallion, sliced hotdogs, and ketchup that is quite tasty and more substantial. They also have more traditional red bean buns, among other offerings. They're all good. They also offer milk loaf and coconut loaf bread, which is really awesome. Their boba and drink offerings also come in cups that have the potential of being reused (they're not as durable as the traditional tumbler, though, but they can be reused), and they aren't sealed with that heat-pressed plastic sheet (which I have grown to consider not environmentally friendly), which is a small bonus. Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of their boba/drink offerings, so I had to compromise (after asking for about 5 drinks) on the matcha latte, which good. Hopefully, that was a one-off.. plus all bets are off with supply chains these days during the pandemic. A few downsides: Their cakes are OK. I wasn't really wowed by their thousand layer cake and the multiple cake flavors, but your MMV. I would be thrilled if they just offered a traditional Asian sponge cake with straight cream, though. All of their buns and cake slices are individually wrapped in plastic. While it's all good and understandable during the pandemic, I hope the plastic will go away once the pandemic gets better. Despite their buns being pretty solid, the variety was pretty sparse. I hope it was because I had visited fairly late in the day, but the cabinet (and there is only one) that had the bread looked like it was pretty well stocked despite my late arrival. I hope they can expand their offerings in the future. Their buns are also relatively expensive, costing around $3 per bun. Loafs are about $7 each. Drinks are also a bit on the expensive side, but I might chalk it up to the higher quality container they use. However, despite the downsides, it's worth checking out their buns due to tastiness and being a convenient snack. 4-4.5 stars. read more
