We were especially happy to have been recognized by the owners: It's been a few months since our last visit. You know you're in the right place for great Vietnamese food when the parking lot is packed at lunch, and the patrons include a Buddhist monk and Muy Thai practitioners. What do I find charming about this place? Firstly, it's the best baguette I've ever had. (For reference, I spent three years in a former French colony in Africa). The char sui option reminded me of Hong Kong night markets! The unctuous pork BBQ was nicely offset by crunchy cucumber slices and cilantro leaves. So good! The spring rolls were nicely balanced flavors and textures, and the peanut dipping sauce was excellent. The combo beef pho was as great as I remembered: An enormous bowl of noodles, meatballs, and steak, flavored with anise, lemongrass, and chives.
