Pho lovers, you NEED to try this place! I absolutely love Pho, but I didn't want to make the trip into the city, so I decided to Google "Pho near me" and found this little gem not too far away. I am SO glad I decided to give it a try! My granddaughter and I both had the rare beef Pho, my daughter had the Bánh Mì, and my friend ordered the Vermicelli Chicken noodle bowl -- and not one of us was disappointed! Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. The prices were fantastic, and the service was amazing. Everything came out so quickly, but the speed didn't take away from the quality at all. The food tasted like it was cooked with love. And let's talk about the fresh toppings! The Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and lime were fresh, plentiful, and the perfect addition to our meals. We also ordered the spring rolls, and that peanut sauce was SO good it should be bottled! Seriously, I could have taken some home by the gallon. It honestly seemed like a one-man show, and that guy was incredible! Friendly, efficient, and somehow managed to keep everything moving while still providing great service. Even the free bottled water was a wonderful surprise! Hands down, this is my new Pho go-to spot! I highly recommend giving them a try. The rolls were crunchy yet soft on the inside, The ingredients were tasty and fresh with a spicy kick from the jalapeños. The cilantro on top added the perfect flavor to the veggie and meat filling. The pho broth was very spicy but a little too oily For my taste so i bored shine out..They do separate the broth from your ssoup ingredients to keep them from getting soggy or mushy. Very friendly service and a good menu with a couple bonus Thai/Chinese items in addition to the standard Vietnamese items. Being a smaller restaurant...not great for groups. Vietnamese cuisine is something I just recently started exploring, so I decided to check out Pho Cali with a few friends this past Saturday for lunch . A very extensive menu with very reasonable prices . I chose two things from the menu, a beef banh mi and chicken pad Thai . I was reassured both entrees did not contain any onion . My friends ordered a shrimp and pork hot pot and a sort of make your own spring roll appetizer (not sure of the proper name ) . Food came out in a reasonable amount of time . The banh mi was pretty spot on, tender beef, fresh roll, and crisp veggies and cilantro . The pad Thai was a heaping portion and flavorful but had onions .... And lots of them . Everyone else had their food and I didn't wanna make a fuss since it seemed there was only 1 server doing all the running, so I just picked out as many out as I can . The spring roll dish was a hit and the hot pot, although flavorful and the shrimp was good, contained pork that was quite fatty , actually pork fat may have been substituted for the pork itself . The atmosphere is small and quaint but cozy . All other food going to other patrons looked quite delicious and customers seemed pleased . On a colder day I would like to try one of their variations of pho (and maybe another banh mi, because for $5 it's quite the steal!) read more

This is a super nice Vietnamese place way down in Elma where you would never expect to find a Vietnamese place, much less a good one. The Banh Mi sandwich is actually one of the best in town - hands down without any doubt - but there's not exactly much competition to be honest. If you like Vietnamese sandwiches, I highly recommend you come and try the one from here (my voice dictation said come inside the one from here, mind out of the gutter please Android thx). Ordered for the first time Tonight. It was take out. 35.00 for a small container of broth the rest of what went in the soup was in a styrofoam container. 13.00 and very small. It was tasteless. I ordered the 3 spring rolls for 7.00 when I got home there were 2 also tasteless. And finally I ordered some sort of noodles with chicken and some vegetables. Totally unimpressive. I asked can we add white rice the lady who I could not understand said 5.00 for a small container. I said OK that's a lot but I'll take it. I hand her my debit card and she said we take 5.00 cash no card. I said well then no rice I don't carry cash. The place looks like a dump but I wanted to try it since I drive by it every day. I feel bad giving this place 3 stars, but the broth is the most important part of pho and for some reason, the broth here was oddly very sweet. We tried the regular beef broth and also the bun Bo hue. Lots of fresh bean sprouts and herbs, which was excellent. The only complaint I have is that the soup did not have much depth besides the sweetness. I've eaten here a couple times and never had any issues. Food is good and well priced. I ordered pho soup and when I took it home and dumped it into a big bowl I found not 1 but 2 hairs!!! They looked like they were from a mans beard. They were short and blackish gray hairs. Definitely not mine, my hair is blonde and long. I've never seen them wear gloves or a hairnet or anything covering their beards. Sadly will not be returning and do not recommend. Pho Cali is a nice change in pace for the Southtowns! From the outside, it looks a little run down, but the food wholeheartedly makes up for what the restaurant lacks in curb appeal. I've only ever tried two things off of their menu: their pho ga and their bahn mi. The pho ga is a delightful experience! Never a dull moment in terms of flavor and I do appreciate the large portion sizes. I've only ever ordered takeout, and it's always been packaged with care and perfectly warm! Their bahn mi is also noteworthy. It comes with hearty sprigs of cilantro and is huge for the price you pay! My only complaint is that the last time I ordered one, it was on the greasy side. I'm glad this place exists where it does. Oh happy day! Pho comes to the eastern suburbs! This is a tiny (26 seats) restaurant but with a full menu of Vietnamese dishes, in addition to pho. I had #36--a flavorful broth with rice noodles and generous portions of sliced tender beef, several large shrimp, bok choy, sprouts, and 2 tiny quail eggs. It was delicious and ranks with the best pho we've had in WNY. Delicious! This is not a fancy place and I think the few service miscues will disappear with a like more practice. Beware sitting at tables in line with the door, as you will definitely get a blast of cold vs air. No liquor license, so try a Vietnamese iced coffee or Thai iced tea or even a few flavours of bubble tea. Can't wait to try other items on their menu. read more

We had an awful experience here. Mind you this used to be our go to Thai take out spot. See prior post. We made the mistake of going in person Saturday night around 600pm. The woman who helped us basically said they were too busy with takeout orders but ok have a seat. We should have listened. She came back and we started to order, then she said they only have pho. I love the pho but my wife likes pad Thai and kids wanted fried rice. This is after we just saw a guy picking up a to-go order of chicken wings and pot stickers. We loved everything we tried. We were on our way to a different restaurant for dinner when I spotted Pho Cali out of the car window. I've heard great things so I decided it was time to finally try it. We ordered takeout from the parking lot and it was ready to go within 10 minutes. We had one bowl of beef brisket pho, pork bahn mi sandwiches, and an order of chicken pad Thai. Everything was fresh and piping hot, even after our 15 minute drive home. The broth in the pho was amazing upon first taste. I hate having to add a ton of stuff into broth to make it taste like something. It was not necessary this time. The bahn mi was loaded with pork on very fresh bread, and the pad thai also had a generous portion of chicken to accompany the noodles. I did wish the pad Thai had bean sprouts to break up the texture, but overall it tasted just right. read more

Ordered from here via Grubhub. Order was missing an appetizer and entree upon delivery. Called restaurant and explained the situation and they told me to come by and I could pick up the missing items. When I got to the place a very rude woman insisted that the delivered order was right. When I showed her the grub hub receipt she showed me her handwritten order and a receipt from her register neither of which matched each other or my order. She refused to make it right and was very argumentative, rude and unprofessional. I will never go to this place again. They do not deserve my business. FINALLY!! A Vietnamese restaurant in the southtowns!! Rumor has it that the owner of this restaurant was the cook from Pho Dollar in the West side.. but with that aside. I'm so happy to see a Vietnamese restaurant over here. My husband and I are pho fiends. Service was mediocre. Just like any small new businesses you get your ups and downs but that stuff doesn't bother me. We ordered spring rolls and eggrolls for apps. Spring rolls were great, they put basil in it which they never usually do and it just takes the spring rolls to a whole other level. The peanut sauce was very good too! Very similar to how pho 99 does theirs. For the egg rolls, I love how crunchy the wrapper is because they must double wrap their eggrolls or something! Great taste as well. The pho. To me the things that matter the most are the broth, the noodles, then the toppings. The broth was great! Everyone likes their broth a little bit different. This one had a good balance of sweetness and saltiness. Therefore I don't add any hoison, just sriracha. The noodles and the portion were a good size! I got pho dac biet which is the special combo that comes with everything. My only complaint about the pho is that my broth could have been hotter. But I like my soups piping boiling hot. I went on a Friday evening and it was packed!! It's a small restaurant, maybe only about 8 to 10 tables. I'd suggest coming on a weekday and during lunch hours are when their the slowest. This little place seems to be located obscurely but don't it's location turn you away because the food and service is great. I ordered the pho tai and the spicy Thai fried rice and I was pleasantly surprised. Both dishes met my expectations boasting fragrant fresh herbs and spices. Apparently, there are no pho restaurants in Orchard Park, so I drove out to Elma. In my attempt to beat the lunch rush, I arrived at the restaurant around 11:45am (Monday).  Upon walking in, I was the first and only patron in the restaurant.  I immediately noticed the COLD air inside the restaurant, and it didn't seem like the heat was on at all. I seated myself as far as I could away from the entrance, in hopes of finding the warmest table in the restaurant. The restaurant is very small and has a total of 9 tables, 5 of which seated 4 people and 4 tables seating 2 people.  Ambiance is very casual, so come dressed comfortably (and warm, if it's during the winter months).  I ordered water and hot tea, and after pouring a cup of jasmine hot tea (which was free), I noticed that the tea was only lukewarm (and not hot).  I also ordered Pho with sliced meatballs (about $9.00).  Before adding any seasonings to my pho, I always like to taste the broth first, just to get an ideas as to what I'm starting with...and I found that the broth was very, VERY good!  I was very impress with the broth itself, and I would say it's just about perfect for my tastes.  If you have a habit of putting a lot of seasoning in your pho, there weren't a lot of seasoning options and they only had the basics:  hoisin sauce, sriracha chili, etc. Just as we were leaving, the heating finally came on. Overall, the Pho broth was good so I probably would come there again (if it weren't for the location being so far from the City of Buffalo).  I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars (only because I didn't like eating in the cold). read more

Thank the gods for whoever owns this place and decided to set up shop out here. The most exotic thing you'll find out here in the West Seneca/Elma crossroads is Chinese takeout. A Vietnamese place out here is more than I could ever hope for. The food is really good. The table near us asked if they were associated with Pho Dollar in Buffalo and they said, 'sort of'. Not sure what that means, but the menu is the same and the food is similar quality. Tried the fried spring rolls appetizer #5 that we love from Pho Dollar and it was good. The sauce was a little different and a little more 'fish saucy' but good. Tried the Bahn Mi, and it was lovely. Tasty french bread, fresh veg, and delicious meats. Just as expected. I had the #20 basic beef pho. The sliced beef was quite generous in portion, the broth was perfect and full of onion slices and scallion slices. Served with the standard add-ins of thai basil and other herbs, bean sprouts, lime wedges and jalapenos. Sriracha and Hoisin as well as garlic chili sauce on the table. Tables also have bins of chopsticks, large spoons, forks, and hiding with the chopsticks some of those Asian soup spoons. Boyfriend had the Pho with beef and meatballs which is what he always gets at Pho Dollar and he said the meatballs are better here. Less dodgy and tastier. ;) The shop is small and open until 9. There are 5 or 6 tables. It's in the same spot that R&R BBQ was previously. Pretty ample parking, especially after the upcycled decor place next door closes for the evening. They also apparently deliver. Several people got pickup while we were there. Staff were very nice and attentive. I hope this place stays here forever. read more

Cute little place- this is probably my favorite pho around. Haven't ordered anything else here besides summer rolls, which were good but the pho is plentiful and delicious. Broth is super flavorful but doesn't have that greasiness to it that most other places do. I don't like when oil bubbles are floating in my soup and I have found that this place seems to be the only one where I haven't found that to be the case. read more

We came here because my friend wanted pho for her birthday but the bowl tasted like they ran out of pho and just mixed leftover with some water and seasoning and just served that to the customer. It was bland and tasteless even with sauce added to it. My sisters food came out wrong, the noodle was wrong and we've requested this prior when we ordered. When it came out, she checked and it wasn't the right noodle. We told the waiter... but it went ignored. For a while he was no where to be seen. His mother came out because I went up to the kitchen window to call for them. I spoke to her specifically to get this changed. I was blamed for not ordering it the right noodles before it came out.... We went out of our way to come out here. I was told it would be good. But in the end we were all super disappointed.
