BBQ Beef Short Ribs
Michelle I.

I ordered the bbq beef short ribs on doordash. One of my favorite things to order aside from the pho. They are juicy and tender, but a few of them were more bone & fat than meat :( which is why i took a star off. The flavor is immaculate which is what keeps me ordering them, but i'd go into it expecting very little meat it's a 50/50 shot. However, as an appetizer, it does the job!

It's not fancy but the food and service are excellent! This restaurant is great for informal dining, and they do a land-office business with take-out and Door-Dash. The menu is varied and has dishes for seafood lovers, meat lovers, and vegetarians. There is a step and two doors to negotiate if you are concerned about access. It's on #29 Bailey bus route. Use Rounds Ave or Lisbon Ave stops.

I'm so glad I tried 99 Fast Food today! I called ahead and my order was ready when I arrived. The staff was very friendly and there were lots of Asian UB students dining in which I consider a good sign. The grilled pork bahn mi was top notch! Lots of flavor, very generous portion of thick pork slices, and the meat had very little fat--would definitely order again. Planning to bring friends and dine in next time. The restaurant seems clean, is reasonably priced, and has a good amount of seating. Looking forward to trying other menu items!

This was a first place I had pho at, back when my now-wife and I started dating. This particular place is a hole-in-the-wall place located off Bailey Ave. The pho was good, the prices are still decent, but the tables do need to be cleaned better. I don't think the kids working in the place are too great at cleaning the tables, but its still fine if you know what you're getting yourself into. Now, I do recall pho broth used to be better and with a stronger lemongrass flavor, but not anymore. Also, the toppings for the pho werent the freshest (some slightly browning leaves), but maybe they just had a bad supply this time around. I also appreciate that they have since introduced some new options to the menu. Either way, This is still some of the best pho I've had in the area and will continue to come back until I find better.

Stopped here when I came into buffalo and let me tell you this is the most authentic pho I have every experienced. Service was very fast and good! Food came out in waves and we got to enjoy every bite. The peanut sauce with the spring roll is to die for. Definitely will be making this a stop every time I go to buffalo!

Very good pho and spring rolls. Not too salty. Good portions. Great peanut sauce. Only issue I had was that the cilantro was chopped up atop the noodles. Next time I will have to remember to ask for it on the side. (I can't eat cilantro but am used to it coming on the side with basil so never ask them to omit)

Delivery 6/21/22 I don't like that they stuff all of the appetizers in one container. Especially because the orders are for multiple people. (Suggestion: smaller takeout containers for appetizer portions) Vietnamese Egg Roll 7/10. was earthy from mushrooms. It was okay. I probably wouldn't eat it again any time soon. I did not get the fish sauce on the side to dip it in though. Fried Dumplings 9/10. Ordered 3 orders (for separate people). Fried well. The whole dumpling was crispy. I did make a note to say to add a separate container of sauce for each order so that each person could have some. They clearly did not as you can see in the photo, there was only 1 sauce. But they did include packets of soy sauce, which is not the same **If the restaurant owner, manager or any workers read this.... Please give 1 sauce per order!!! Each order is supposed to come with it!!! Pho Soup is really great today. A little greasy, but the perfect amount.

OOOHHHH SHIT. So first of all i love this place I DREAM ABOUT IT here and there it is so so good. i don't ever know where to park so i usually end up on a sketchy side street but ITS OKAY IF IM MUGGED, LET ME GET MY LEMON GRASS CHICKEN. it is so tasty and a little bit of heat, the cucumbers are so refreshing, MY GOD COME HERE PEOPLE SHIIIIIIT i could DRINK the PEANUT SAUCE they serve with the SPRING ROLL. FUCK. you know it's authentic when it's mostly like actually vietnamese people eating here. BRAVO I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT

Pho time! Woohoo! Dine-in experience is wonderful for Pho:). 99 Fast Food is a perfect place for hot, flavorful beef broth.

If you feel like having Vietnamese food, come to this place. It's fast, easy and super delicious. The prices are also very affordable. The small size of Pho, for example, costs $9.50, and a large bowl, which is actually really huge, only a buck more. Everything on the menu looks straight forward delicious, it's difficult to decide what to choose. This is one of those places where you'd like to have more than one stomach or more company to share dishes. My solution will be to order at 99 more often, that's all. The service was simply the best possible. We received the menu and glasses of water immediately after arriving. A super nice person took our order. After a really short time, we were already munching on crunchy, deep fried Vietnamese Egg Rolls... so good and satisfying! Our Phos were steamy hot with beautiful, vivid aroma. I was complaining a little bit about the cold temperature of the restaurant, but a few first sips of beef broth went straight down to my toes heating up my entire body. My Pho dish was full of good size shrimp, perfectly done and delicious, but I wish they also offered my favorite seafood kind of soup. The Pho Dac Biet was also very good. My partner would have liked tendon in the mix, but I didn't even see it on the menu. Still, it was a good classic assortment of rare beef, brisket, beef ball, and tripe in a rich Pho broth. The person who took care of us checked once whether we needed anything. It was delightful and relaxing not to have anyone coming back too many times to the moment of annoyance. You pay for the meal at the counter, which is just perfect for me. 99 Fast Food is very popular for take-out. The area is not particularly the nicest, and only on-street parking in front of the restaurant is available. The atmosphere, during our visit, was rather quiet. There was no music in the background. Leaving the place I noticed one of the fish at the entrance looked angry, possibly because they forgot to clean their tank... not to mention the outside area around the building.

Pho Tai
Emily L.

Tell me what is better than a warm bowl of pho on a cold winter's day? I'll wait. I'll be honest, I was going to head back to another favorite spot today for a big bowl of pho tai for lunch, but they were closed. So I asked my all-things-cozy aficionado friend where her favorite spot for pho was and she said 99 Fast Food! So here we are. And now I have a dilemma. Because I truly don't know which place I like more! This pho was everything I was hoping for. The beef was sliced so perfectly thin. The broth was warm and flavorful, and with the sriracha and jalapeno provided, it had the perfect kick. Bean sprouts and green and white onions were crispy, noodles were yummy, fresh lime squeezed on top... all so good. Thanks for the perfect mid-week pick me up 99!

Got spring rolls; a small Ton Kha soup and mango sticky rice - welp, I was bursting with happiness despite dining solo - everything was soooooooooooo delicious! and hot !! and flavorful !!! First and will definitely not be my last trip to Tiny Thai! side note: I was going to take the food back to work to eat but couldn't resist trying a few bites so I ended up eating outside the restaurant (there were a few table and chairs with a big window - quiet and aesthetic ambiance if I do say so myself) and took 1/2 of the soup and 1/2 of the mango sticky rice back to work. The soup was still delicious -and I didn't reheat it- ! I loved the 'warm' mango sticky rice and left the last half in the fridge - pretty sure it'll also taste good so definitely looking forward to late night dessert!!! I got the Pad Ka Pow with pork and an order of the spring rolls. The service was so fast here and friendly. I got my food to go and it was still piping hot when I got home 15 minutes later. This is quite the meal with a large portion of rice in the main dish and five spring rolls. It was delicious from start to finish. Each dish came with an extra sauce to use or dip into. The spring rolls were crispy and full of flavor. The pad ka pow was a perfect balance of savory flavor with the right amount of spice. I should have asked to get shrimp with it this time, but that will happen when I go back next time. The parking at Chandler Street can be a little tough but I found a spot which was nice. The building is full of businesses so it is a nice place to be when you're hungry. Tiny Thai is one of my new favorite places to check out in the city and if you're ever over near the Westside, you should too!

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.

The dining room is comfortable and quiet, which is perfect for dining conversations or just checking email if you are dining like I was. I will admit that the room has aged a bit but it's still clean and pleasant. My Tom Kha soup had a tasty broth and was filled with chicken. The Pad Kee Mao lacked "spiciness" even though it is described as "stir fried spicy flat rice noodles in chili sauce" and I asked for medium heat.
