I've eaten here 5 or 6 times, only for breakfast. Their food is very good, always cooked exactly as requested. It has always been served pretty quickly, even when they were very busy. I've never had the same server twice and they've all been great. I'm a coffee drinker and they have never failed to keep my cup full. They are quick to pick up your empty plates. When they drop of the check, they always tell me to enjoy my coffee and or newspaper and to take my time. My favorite is the biscuits and gravy. read more

Typical comfort food. When they redid the menu, they got rid of the open faced roast beef (pot roast) sandwich. Too bad, as it was my favorite item there. I was going every Thursday morning with my grandma for breakfast, but too many times we had terrible service and often they were out of cinnamon chips for her cinnamon pancakes. We finally gave up and have been going to Steak n Shake instead. The banana nut bread or pumpkin bread is always good here. Who knows, maybe we will give it another shot one day soon. read more

AVOID - Yeuch! Made the big mistake of having a breakfast meeting at Bob Evans in Marion - Absolutely nothing to recommend. Eggs were greasy, biscuit stale, home fires made me sick to my stomach. And it was expensive. $2.19 for a cup of coffee! $8.99 for eggs. I'm sick now and have the taste of lard in my mouth. AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

Can't go wrong with the Rise and Shine breakfast or any of the Knife and Fork sandwiches. Friendly staff but sometimes when I sit at the bar area, it may take 10 minutes before anyone even says hello and if been coming there for years.....Ohh, the spicy/bbq'ed chicken salad is very good too. read more

Food was good. But the restaurant was filthy. Our glasses snd silverware were crusty. They brought us new ones but food was splattered all over glass pattition and wall where our booth was...crumbs and dust..yuck. assistant manager appologized amd gave us a 2. 39 discount..woohee. We didn't complain for the discount. We love the Bob Evans Brand and eat in Cape Girardeau and other places but Marion always gives us dirty dishes and gets our orders wrong! Staff seemed preoccupied with other things. Made you feel like a bother for being a hungry customer. Breakfast was very greasy and luke warm. Table and chairs were dirty. I wish that I had ate somewhere else and will next time. read more

There is no negative rating for what I'm writing about. My family and I went there this Sunday and it was really busy as expected. We were seated after a few people and got to order a few minutes later. There was a long line and people sitting down near the register waiting to be seated. We were seated and we were grateful for that, however, after our order 3 other customer tables received their food first which was 3-5 people per table. After 30 minutes our waitress told us we were the 3rd ticket. 45 minutes later the Hostess passed by and we were asking when the food would be ready. A few minutes after talking to the Hostess our food arrived. I ordered 2 eggs and hash browns which were stone cold and stale tasting. My wife ordered blueberry french toast which was only warm and my mother ordered a large plate with sausage patties that were raw, totally pink inside! My wife talked to the manager and she agreed that the patties were, "Not fully cooked". The waitress asked if we wanted 2 more patties in a box for home and we said yes, however, that also took forever and as she left the check when asking about the patties we got up and checked out. Again though another problem, she gave us the wrong check. On the way home I had to get out of the car several times to throw up and my mom had to stop at a restroom. My wife was fine this time. Last time she had ordered something off the new menu which was the Ham Benedict and later that day she got sick, she did not get sick this time though, and when she went there was a stack of plates on most of the empty tables. They did comp our meal, however we will not be returning ever again! I do not recommend eating here, the service was slow, they're understaffed and the food comes RAW and to me that means they don't care who they make sick and they don't care about their job. Really, who in the earth says F*** it and slaps a raw piece of sausage on someone's plate. They should have told our server they're making it now. read more

Usually it is ok. The food is pretty good, but the place is very crowded, noisey, AND VERY DIRTY! Now the kitchen area and outside look pretty clean, but the dining room always has food on the floor, the chairs are often sticky, and I never set any silverware on the tables. The bathrooms are the worst! They have been updated to look more sleek and modern, but they always smell! There is usually pee on the floor or the seats too. That could just be a constant flow of people, but it could also be that there is not enough bathroom cleaning being done. Last time I visited there was no soap, only one towel dispenser worked, and there was almost no paper in the stall I went in. Eww! That doesn't say much for the place. Usually bathrooms are very telling. I won't be visiting here for a long while. Two stars, only because the food is pretty good. read more

We arrived at restaurant at 8am..not too busy...we thought wrong! We called couple weeks ahead and we were told they don't do reservations but they would pass on to the manager that 11 of us would be arriving by 8am on Sunday June 11, 2017. The hostess sat up tables after we arrived and finally we were seated! Our waiter finally came over, we received our menu and after a long wait we finally got our drinks, consisting of juice, water and finally the coffee drinkers got coffee. It took forever. Our tables were together but our waiter stood at one end of the table and we had to pass our drinks from person to person..there was no reason why he could not have handed each drink to us. We waited and waited and waited for our food...finally after 45 or 50 minutes, we were served our food. A party of eight came in after we did and they were finishing their meals about 30 minutes before we got ours. This is a poor excuse of a restaurant in my book! Many other tables were served and out the door before we were served. After receiving our food, hash browns were cold and not cooked, some pancakes were burnt, some of the orders weren't complete, couple people's biscuits were very hard and the gravy was cold and looked terrible. We asked our server what took so long and he replied,"the cook wouldn't let me take any of the food out until the whole order was complete. The experience was terrible and we told the manager we would not be back. She just kept saying how sorry she was. She stated that they are not normally that busy on Sunday mornings. She did take off $20...our bill was $118.00 without tip. So before you try Bob Evans with a large group, consider going to Cracker Barrel. I hope higher management reads this and something is done with the Marion Il. store. After the terrible experience, at least we did get to have a family get together for early Fathers Day! read more

I've been a regular at this Bob Evans for some time. I dine here at least monthly with other family members. In the not so distant past you could count on a good meal and excellent service, but since the remodel the place has been on a downhill slide. Today's experience may be last straw. Our waitress was overextended, our drinks sat empty for quite a while and then we had to point out that we needed refills when someone finally came to the table. Our food sat on the counter for over 10 minutes before it was picked up and delivered to our table, and by the time it did get to us the hash browns were cold. At the end, the check was paid in cash, but no receipt was offered, apparently to prevent us from writing a review on the company website. What a train wreck. I can't fault the wait staff since the place appears to never have enough staff on hand to handle the clientele. read more
