Visited Bob Evans for breakfast on Saturday (1/24) at 10:30 AM. The restaurant wasn't busy, but after being seated I waited 10 minutes with no server. I had to ask the hostess to find my waitress, and even then another table seated 15 minutes after me was served immediately after seating. I eventually left due to the lack of service. Typically service is very slow here regardless of how busy (or not) they are. The manager refused to refund the money when the food was delivered. I waited for 15 minutes, and when I went to the counter, the waitress claimed the computer was down, so I would need to wait. I asked for the manager, but the general manager went in the back office and hide. read more

There were at least 5 people "working " in this restaurant. There were no other customers in the restaurant when we came in. We should have just turned around and walked out, but I was starving. The service was BAD, the food AWFUL, yup... should have walked back out. Who ever runs or owns this Bob Evans, you should be ashamed of yourself. Just flipping horrendous! My food had chunks of burnt ??something?? Scattered through it. The chicken fingers tasted like rubber onion rings. The peach tea tasted like it came out of a chemical bath. It was overall really good. Went with my family got a few different meals like breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and griddle pancakes. The service was mediocre because of the 20 minute wait time but the food made up for it. If you're in a rush and need something quick I wouldn't recommend it but if you're looking for a nice meal 10/10 would! read more

Absolutely will NEVER go to this Bob Evans again! Waitress was not good...had to ask for lemon twice and ask for our bread, which was to come with our meal. Regretted even asking for it when the banana nut bread was doughy! Lunch came and chicken was like eating stringy rubber! My husband's fork had some slimy substance wrapped around it! Have eaten at many bob evans over the years but not in a few years. Don't know if it's just this location or the whole chain that is in a downward death spiral but I'd be shocked if they survive through the end of the year. Stopped late afternoon on a Sunday and questioned if they were actually open. Entered to join two other small parties waiting to be seated. There didn't appear to be anyone eating or working there. Finally a nice but frazzled lady came over and seated us all. Honestly the food was not what I remember. It was ok, and served so quickly as to confirm it was just waiting for the microwave. All plastic silverware as she explained the dishwasher was broken. Which made us wonder about the plates we were eating from. We came for a Saturday lunch after shopping. Service was very friendly. Order took a little while, but not too bad. Unfortunately, the cooks haven't been changing the oil frequently. The fish batter, fries and onion rings were too dark due to old oil. Disappointing. read more

After decades of going to Bob Evans because of the grits, fresh fruit and real ice tea (not machine or chemical iced tea) I learned today the geniuses at "corporate" have changed the menu and removed grits. Why? Grits are a staple of rural and southern America, just as Oatmeal in other parts of the USA. It's the first thing I order along with coffee or ice tea. After eating it I order the rest of the meal. I prefer Bob Evans over Cracker Barrel because Cracker Barrel is centered on its unhealthy, grease laden breakfast, but at least they continue having grits. As soon as I was told grits are off the menu, I left. Breakfast sets the day off well. Bob Evans list a long time and frequent customer, Cracker Barrel and other locations serving grits will continue getting my business, now more of it picking up the business I formerly gave Bob Evans. Went to dinner at this Bob Evans on Thursday evening July 11, 2024. The restaurant was a disappointment as they were out of a lot of their menu items. Per the waitress they had not had a delivery truck in 3 weeks!!! For a national chain restaurant that seems very unacceptable. What has happened to Bob Evans restaurants? Yeah it's a chain. Yeah expectations shouldn't be high. And they weren't for us. However, it should not take an hour for breakfast to find your table even at the fanciest of places. And what you get shouldn't look and taste like it's been sitting somewhere you'd rather not admit to. That and room temperature... Even basic cleanliness and building upkeep seem to be afterthoughts to them. Vents about to fall out of the ceiling. Floor and baseboards that look like they've not been cleaned for years. Nothing looked as though it's been cleaned for some time. The restrooms were a mistake. After that, none of us had an appetite anymore. I like Bob Evans because their sausage links are top notch. I'm not going to eat breakfast at Bob's and not have that sausage. Excellent stuff. Tasty and somehow, I don't have the burps for hours and hours. That's worth a star right there. Service today was decent though not great. I didn't get offered a coffee refill until the end of my meal but my waitress did ask if I'd like a coffee for the road, so that made up for it. Eggs, home fries, toast. Easy. Thought we gave Bob Evans another chance; guess what? Big mistake. When we arrived the restaurant was empty, the hostess told us our waitress will be us after she gave us our water. Then she disappeared into oblivion and our waitress failed to appear, while 4 other tables were seated, another waitress came out to take their orders. She didn't even acknowledge the 5 of us! We left. Will not be returning and won't be recommending this place, go somewhere you are respected and taken care with courtesy. A friend and I had dinner at Bob Evans in Chambersburg, PA, and it was not a good experience. First of all, we were served cold coffee which we ordered before the meal and on top of that, the cups were chipped which should not be given to the public. The coffee had to be warmed up twice before it was hot enough and another waitress did that the second time around. Supposedly, there was a large part of 10 in the restaurant and they were getting all of the attention so our meal was placed on hold for quite a while. That did not bother me as much as the coffee we were served because I can understand there were not enough waitresses or waiters to wait on the people who were in the restaurant. They should have known better than to serve us cold coffee in chipped coffee cups. read more

I regret going here. My boyfriend and I decided to go to here mainly because we always went to the Cracker Barrel nearby. I got there after him and apparently twenty minutes before I got there he had ordered the blue ribbon bacon which didn't come for another thirty minutes, so altogether forty minutes waiting, for bacon. Then I ordered a coffee, I didn't get that coffee for thirty five minutes. And when I reminded the waitress all she said was "Oh yeah you didn't get that coffee" No apology for her obviously forgetting it, or when we waited forty five minutes for our main meals. She never refilled our sodas not even once, or came to check on us or apologize for the wait. The entire time she didn't apologize for any of it. And the worst part was all the servers were standing around talking very loud right in the restaurant. Like it was a high school cafeteria. Not to mention our food was awful. His fried chicken was dry, the vegetables in my western omelette were cut like it was a five year old as the head chef. I. Will. Never. Go. Back. My mom had a coupon for Bob Evans, so we went there for breakfast one morning last week. Normally we go to the local diners where you get a good breakfast for a little bit of money. This is a very convenient location, right off of I-81. Plenty of parking. Inside is clean, neat, and updated. The restaurant has been there for many, many years but you can't tell inside. Restroom was very clean, too. The first think I noticed at Bob Evans was the menu. Very large and lots to choose from for breakfast. Reminds me a little of Denny's with all of the choices. We both ordered coffee, and aside from two cups of coffee, we also got a little pot of coffee to serve ourselves. Pretty nice for heavy coffee drinkers! I chose the Farm Fresh Omelette. Fresh veggies (whole, sliced portabello mushrooms and fresh spinach). The omelette came with either home fries or hash browns. The side of potatoes was a bit small, but the omelette was huge, so it didn't really matter. You also get a side of bread with such breakfasts, and one you can choose from is their specialty bread. The seasonal was blueberry and it was very good. The service here was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, patient, and attentive. I don't know how the rest of them are, but this one is a winner. A manager also came around to ask how our meal was. I like when managers do this at a restaurant. The breakfast was very good, but prices are high. Be ready to spend $10 per person (or more) with a beverage. I wouldn't normally go here, but having a coupon helps! read more

We stopped here on our vacation. It was a cold dreary day and we wanted something warm. Well, the food was warm and tasted ok but that was about all. The carrots were really bad. The mashed potatoes were ok as well as the turkey and dressing. The best part of the meal was the pumpkin bread. I think we must have had a new waitress. She definitely did not have her act together. When my husband ordered his meal, she asked what sides he wanted. He showed her the menu and told her it didn't mention any sides. She said "oh well, the menu doesn't lie". My husband also had to keep asking for coffee refills. She kept saying she was sorry but she still didn't come back to refill his coffee. It was not a pleasant experience. read more

My daughter and I went there last evening for dinner and we had the most splendid waitress. Angel was her name, we could tell she was new. She did a great job with our order and always made us feel welcome. She came back to check on us periodically throughout our dinner. Food was very good and very filling. You made a good choice hiring Angel, she makes a nice addition. When we paid we were asked how our service was and how Angel did. Not bad for a chain restaurant. Love the biscuits and gravy (when I can have them, I'm diabetic and can only have them on my monthly cheat day). Today, i had the Rise and Shone woth their new ham. My scrambled eggs came out looking more like a cheese omelette. The manager overheard me mention that to my waitress and stopped by my table to explain. He informed me that Bob Evans used liquid eggs from a carton to make many of their egg dishes, especially omelettes and scrambled eggs. He said if you want fresh whole eggs, you normally need to request them. This was disappointing and lowered my opinion of Bob Evans. I figured a restaurant that portrays itself as authentic farm-fresh cuisine, would use real eggs all the time. Makes me wonder what other shortcuts they take and how much food is microwaved. Having the manager tell me this when he asked how my meal was, definitely lowered my opinion of Bob Evans. That said, the service at this Bob Evans is very good. read more

I am in Bob Evans right now. Really. I asked Carla the waitress about a menu item, specifically cornmeal mush. I had no idea what it was and she could not describe it to me. She left the table and when she returned she had her manager Dave with her. Dave told me that he was having the cook fry up a slice for me to try! Can you believe it!! By far the best breakfast I've ever eaten. We've been in Pennsylvania for 2 weeks and eaten here 4 times and it still isn't enough. Great breakfast menu with high quality ingredients. The cook cooks the food to perfection every time. The hostess and waitresses are always very nice and sincere. I wish I had more hands, I'd give this restaurant 4 thumbs up. There were customers at maybe 6 other other tables. We saw three waitresses tending to tables. Ten minutes later we still weren't waited on AT ALL by a waitress. We walked out.
