We eat at Bob Evans when ever we're traveling. Very consisted with their meals and service. They always offer grits as an alternative to potatoes. Good coffee too! read more

I understand the low reviews, the staff that sat us in a location that was not suitable for a stroller. We had them move the extra handicap table... Non of our party was disabled so I don't why we had it. The server was average for the Bowie area and the food was good. We will try again in in a few months to see if anything has changed. read more

Were do I start???? Well got there about 6 pm on 1/1/18 for dinner. And I noticed there were tables with dirty dishes and no customers at them. When to place orders my dad ordered shrimp and told no shrimp. Friend of dad ordered chicken I ordered Turkey and dressing, the waiter whose name is Walter came back and stated no chicken, now it was going on 6:10 pm and I had go wipe my table down and still the other 2 tables still had dirty dishes not cleaned.towards the end of our dinner the Manager finally got off his ass and helped seat a family of 6. Never helped pick up dishes or swept the floor to get trash off floor. Piss poor management a restaurant should never run out of food, dishes picked up tables cleaned and ready for other guests trash swept off the floor. This shows that management don't care. I agree with many of the reviewers here. I don't know what has happened over time to this restaurant, but the service is truly abysmal. My parents are in town visiting, and we decided to go to Bob Evans. We arrived and were promptly seated as there were only a few tables being used in the restaurant. However after about 15 minutes, I had to go talk with the receptionist and find out if the section we were in even had a wait person. A great waitress named Shirley came over and helped us. She had been working the counter seating but came over and got us squared away and we were happy with her service, so big tip for her. WTF I come to bob Evans this evening thinking it's not packed I should be able to have a nice hot meal and be on my way.....Boy was I wrong so I sit down and guy comes up as unprofessional as they come pants sagging. Lazy tone not speaking clearly then. I order my food while waiting 40 min for me to receive my food with the three present customers and one whom sat down 15 min after me table of three and got there food early then my pancakes. Okay then I began to watch the food area and the food sits there under the light another ten min. Now I'm upset already knowing Ima have to send this cold food back. Then after waiting to receive my food. The bad news as the food arrives. Sorry no biscuits. If it wasn't for my disdain of IHOP, we'd quit coming here. We've had three not great experiences in a row. I got the homestead, which was good, but nothing comes out at the same time. Even the cold food was good though. Sausage gravy is excellent and biscuits are better than Popeyes. We also got the be fit meal,which apparently includes a rotten tomato. It must've really bothered the waitress, because we didn't see her again after that. On the way out, there was a line of people waiting to be greeted and seated. A waitress who appeared to be done for the day, stopped on her way out and say everyone. That was pretty cool. We'll probably come again just for that. And that I don't like IHOP. read more

This is the first time we've visited this particular Bob Evans, and were very disappointed. We waited over 10 minutes for our waiter to take our drink order; by that time we had decided on appetizers but not entrees. So we put our appetizer order in. We didn't get our drinks until our appetizers came out - over 15 minutes later. So here we are sitting for almost half an hour before even getting a cup of coffee. And even after getting our entrees our waiter was seldom seen - I was only able to get one refill on my coffee throughout the entire meal. As for the food - my biscuits and gravy were good, but my wife's omelet was swimming in butter - so much that it pooled on the plate (I should have taken a picture). It looked like butter was poured over the omelet after it was placed on the plate. All in all, it was very disappointing. We used to frequent the Germantown Bob Evans regularly, but it closed. We miss it, and were happy to see there was one on our way to Bay, which we go to regularly. But after this experience we won't be visiting this particular Bob Evans again. Bad experience, waist of time. When we arrived the place was practically empty. There where 4 other tables with people. We were seated right away. We waited for 20 minutes and no one ever came over to get our drink order. We left and went to Chili's. On a side note we had an infant seat and the hostess brought a highchair over and turned it upside down. On the bottom of the upside down high chair it stated in huge big red letters that the chair should not be used upside down for any reason. When we told her that we didn't want to use the high chair. She said it was for the baby. We showed her the warning and she shrugged and walked away. read more

THE WORST BOB EVANS EVER. Ordered take out salads and it took one half hour to put in a bag at 7:30pm. Asked for dressing that I did not get. Asked for jelly for the biscuits which I did not get. Restaurant is stupid because they have a hotel right next door. They could make money if they got the right staff. Such a shame to all the other BobEvans out there. SHAME ON YOU. read more

Breakfast service was slow. I had to request repeatedly and wait patiently for coffee to be refilled. Half the food I ordered never came, including one of their new specials I had wanted to try. I visited with my family on a Sunday for breakfast. The receptionist stated that there was a 15 minute wait and after approximately 15 minutes we were seated. The waiter came by within 5 minutes. The food arrived about 20 minutes after placing the order and was on par with any other Bob Evans that I have visited. The only negative is that the waiter forgot my side order of home fries. read more

The food has definitely changed over the year that we've been coming here, as well as the staff. The greeter is efficient, but doesn't smile or provide a proper greeting, and the manager seems more concerned about getting people into seats than checking to see if they're enjoying their meals. Our waitresses have been great, but the meals haven't been up to the quality that I've been used too; smaller portions and sometimes not what was ordered. The restaurant needs to get back to its roots. read more

The wait wasn't too long. And our server seemed very nice. But that's where the good experience ended. It took 45 minutes to get SOME of our food. Even with the server repeatedly asking the kitchen for it. 4 tables that came in after us got their food AND ate before we did. Even when the food came it wasn't right, even though from where we were sitting could hear the server telling them what she had put on the ticket. She was begging for our food. Then the manager came over and and asked about what was going, we explained. She then asked if we needed anything else. I told her yes, my food. I already know before I get here, the place is going to be busy. That is why I get carry-out. My husband goes in, comes out about 15 minutes later .Mind you, this has happened several times before and we were still dumb enough to go back. We give them extra time after the posted online time and the food still isn't ready. I get the meal, look inside the bag things are missing, no bacon with pancakes that I ordered and paid for, no topping on pancakes that I paid for. Extra whipped topping, never even gotten. My husband goes inside to get the things they didn't give us, three other customers who got carry-out as well, are back at the counter for things they didn't get in their order. I get home start eating, pancakes are soggy and cold, bacon is burnt beyond belief and the biscuits are dry and hard. They don't have to worry about me going back there, this establishment gets worse and worse. No matter how many managers they go through the place is still the same. They don't care about the service they provide for their customers and the food isn't worth eating. I wouldn't give this food to a stray cat that hasn't eaten in days. I started making my own breakfast on the weekend and trust me, its better than any Bob Evans I've been to. read more

I have never been so upset with this service in all my years of eating out. When we placed our orders for soup the soup came but there were no utensils on the table no spoon provided when soup arrived; it took a little while to get utensils to eat the soup. One of us ordered meatloaf and the other ordered the salmon when that order finally arrived it was very bland when we called the manager over and also the waiter told us that they do not season their food it has to be seasoned at the table by the customers. I informed them that it is told food is not to be seasoned with salt once it is cooked it is not healthy and they said that that is their policy. The service is very slow and while sitting there waiting for our food to arrive at least three tables of customers got up and left because they said that the service was too poor. While I was sitting at the table I called the headquarters office and inform them of the problems I had and they said that they just preseason their food so it doesn't have to be seasoned anymore and I informed them that that food was not seasoned and it was very bland. They said that they would check with that Bob Evans in Bowie, Maryland to make sure that they are complying with the standards of the restaurant but I was very displease with their explanation. Their explanation was they were please that they did take the meals off our final bill. Was sitting waiting for our meal to arrive at least three tables of customers got up and left because of the poor service. I wouldn't give this restaurant even half a star but you have to give it a rating to save it. read more
