We stopped in for dinner while traveling through. It was 10 minutes until 8 and we had to wait a while to be seated. We asked if they closed at 8 and were told that they closed at 9. Once seated, we ordered our drinks: sweet tea and unsweet tea. Our server said they were out of tea and because they were closing in an hour, they wouldn't make more. I ordered the lemon chicken small plate and it was good. My husband ordered the turkey dinner. He didn't get much food or the cranberry sauce. When we paid, we found out they brought the small plate dinner even though that's not what was ordered. When we pass through in the future, we'll just keep on going. read more

Omelet That Slide Founded in 1948 by the eponymous Bob Evans in Gallipolis, OH. While no longer run by the Evans family, Bob Evans restaurants are now numbered somewhere around 450 restaurants nationwide (mostly in the Midwestern/Southern regions of the USA, altho they do have locations in PA, NY, & NJ). This location is not too far from Hwy 19 here in WV and would make a good stop for road trippers and commuters alike. The Good: *Friendly and prompt service *Coffee was classic diner fare *Prices are ridiculously cheap for large portions (please note I'm from CA, so take that with as grain of salt) *Large and plentiful parking lot *Biscuits were bomb AF *Chicken Fried Steak was not spectacular, but it got the job done. The eggs were cooked well; the steak was nice and crispy; and the hash browns were the classic representation. The Meh: . *Décor is on the non-offensive kinda boring classic diner motif. *While the food was all very good, nothing was spectacular and worthy of an immediate return trip. The Ugly: *Whatever you do, don't look at the calories for the food here. 0_o TLDR: Solid American fare that's a good solid stop when available, and also easy on the wallet, too. read more

Tricky bringing a troop of Boy Scouts what with COVID and all, but they got it done. Servers in masks, separate tables, and good eats. No complaints. Nobody left hungry. The Farmer's Omelette is the way to go -- tons of ham and toppings, just awesome. Reasonably priced, everything as ordered. read more

Let's just forget about the service since everyone is short staffed. The food was horrific, burnt home style potatoes dripping with grease. Omlet where they didn't even try to cook the vegetables inside so it was completely awful. Save yourself the waste of money and god to McDonalds. read more

I visited Bob Evan's restaurant today. I have been there many times and usually get reasonable service. Today, my sister and I went there for lunch. We were seated after a few minutes. A server finally came and took our drink order and after a few minutes she brought it out. She rushed away from the table. We sat there about 25 minutes and got up and left. No one was at the counter to take my money for the drink, so, we left. We wonder why the restaurant's in Beckley are doing so bad.0 stars. read more

Ate here again last night and food and service was excellent! Grilled chicken and mashed potatoes where delicious! Even got a free slice of their lemonade bread because manager was very busy taking a large order for a lady who had surgery and was very ill and they where even going to deliver it to her home..which to me shows how kind they are to their customers! read more

This restaurant is usually excellent with excellent servers and food. Today however our waitress was basically a jerk. I asked about part of my order as I usually don't get the toast and have to ask twice. In a ver smart epic tone said.I AM NOT DONE yet. First of all she asked me if there was anything else we needed. We ordered the Family Meal - Slow Roasted Turkey and Stuffing, with 2 sides, and paid $27! We got it to go. Two individual meals was $10.79 + tax, if we had stayed inside we would have also purchased drinks, which are about $2, so after tax and tip, we would've paid $32, roughly. The amount of turkey they gave us made my mouth drop open! And it was all delicious! read more

The food is always fresh and very delicious. My pickup orders are always quick and on time.

First I waited at the front for 20 minutes before anybody came to ask if I needed any help. This was supposed to be a curbside pick up. And then receiving the food all of the food was cold and wet and they were too busy to replace it. So giving it a three star is being nice. read more

While I do have honest moments of live for Bob Evans, unfortunately not every Bob Evans follows the same business model do its hit or miss. The last time I went, the banana bread and lemon bread were stale and the grits were too grainy to eat. The over easy egg and French toast were perfect and the waitress was amazing. We're on a road trip through WV. Wanted a quick, tasty bite for breakfast and found it here! Fantastic eggs, coffee, bacon, waffle and home fries. Our waitress, Sheila, was SO sweet, professional and speedy. Love the oldie tunes they gently play. Place is meticulously clean and has great, friendly ambience. I haven't ever been to a Bob Evans, but I give two thumbs up- much better than any other big chain pancake house I've been to! read more

Stopped in the other night and were sat near these two older women. Normally wouldn't dream of complaining about the other patrons but these women take the cake. This review is actually for the poor management. My husband and I were appalled at how they treated the staff. Our poor server bit her tongue through every single thing they threw at her. They claimed to be allergic to almost everything on the menu but then proceeded to order some things that contain their supposed allergies, ate everything they ordered, and then insisted their food was terrible and demanded free food. I saw them polish those plates and was shocked beyond belief that when they demanded they talk to a manager, THE MANAGER COMPED THEIR MEALS!! I could not believe what I was watching unfold in front of me!! These awful women should be shown the door and never allowed back!! They were TERRIBLE!! Hats off to our server for staying so kind and friendly throughout the entire ordeal. She was absolutely amazing. I don't know that I could have stayed so calm. I wish I could remember her name so I could write her a shining review. She really saved our evening the best she absolutely could. Unfortunately, these women just made our experience so unpleasant. This restaurant was convenient to my hotel. There was no sign that stated wait to be seated, wasn't busy, but got looks from staff who looked like they were just standing around. Good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have had everything from an omelette to meatloaf. Highly recommend this particular location.

Was visiting WV in early May for my mother's 93 birthday. She wanted to go to Bob Evans for her birthday dinner! We walked in and the restaurant was clean, the wait staff very friendly and considerate (takes us a while to get Mama seated!). We ordered our drinks and they came quickly. Teresa, our server, was friendly and cheerful (a plus in my book). She chatted a bit and made sure are drinks were filled. A good job. I know now why my mother enjoys going to this specific restaurant. Good job! PS - my uncle comes through there frequently to get mashed potatoes for my aunt. She is in a nursing home nearby and that is all she will eat. This group of people are awesome! read more

We have been to this restaurant multiple times and every time we've had terrible service and the food is either over or under cooked. We went this morning and it was not very busy. When our waitress was taking our order I had a few questions and her response was "I'm new so I don't know" she didn't offer to find out or ask anyone else. Our food took forever and when it got to us half the food was over cooked and half was undercooked so we sent it back and ate the pancakes (which weren't good). Eventually we got tired of waiting and got up to leave. We never got any drinks refilled. The manager then came out and tried to charge us $30. I said for what? All we ate was a few pancakes and coffee that we only got one cup of. He said oh ok and took off %50 still charging us $18 for food we barely ate and terrible service. Not one person apologized. And the manager could tell I was not happy yet still continued to not do anything to try to fix it. We will not be going here again. read more
