The food and drinks were absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere and music were easily a 10/10. Unfortunately, what started as a great experience was overshadowed by how an incident involving one of my guests was handled. During our meal, a server accidentally spilled a plate of food down the back of one of the guests in my party, ruining her dress. The manager initially removed her meal from the bill. However, when we noticed that her drinks were still included, we had to speak with the manager again to have those removed as well. What was most disappointing was the manager's explanation that because he had spoken with her and she said she was "okay," meaning she wasn't physically hurt, he felt that comping her meal was sufficient. While we certainly appreciate that she wasn't injured, that wasn't really the point. Her dress was ruined because of an accident caused by the restaurant's staff, and her entire meal and drinks totaled no more than approximately $100. Given the circumstances, I don't think making her entire evening complimentary was an unreasonable expectation. We were a party of 11 and spent over $800 that evening. Considering the size of our bill and the fact that her clothing was damaged, fully comping her food and drinks would have been a small gesture that could have completely changed how we felt about the situation. The restaurant itself has a lot going for it, the food, drinks, music, and atmosphere were excellent. Unfortunately, customer service is also about how problems are handled when something goes wrong, and I was disappointed with the response in this situation. For that reason alone, the next time I'm looking for this type of dining experience, I'll be heading to Harlem Tavern instead of BLVD Bistro. read more

We had the biscuits, French toast, fried chicken and pancakes. I honestly loved everything. Fried chicken was hot, crispy, juicy and tender. We stumbled upon BLVD Bistro while on our way to a different restaurant. Seeing a long line forming outside we figured it had to be worth the wait. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long and were able to grab seats at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. That said, I'd definitely recommend making one if you plan to visit. It was crowded and pretty loud very quickly. We struck up a conversation with the bartender, who recommended the Sistah'Rita, and he couldn't have been more right. This unique twist on a margarita was fantastic. Sip it slowly and enjoy the flavor that the peach moonshine brings to the drink. For food, we tried the crab cakes and the jumbo shrimp & grits. The crab cakes were a slam dunk for me. They were packed with flavor and didn't need any help from the accompanying sauce. The shrimp & grits were equally impressive, with creamy, delicious grits topped with perfectly seasoned shrimp. BLVD Bistro is a great spot for lunch, drinks, or both. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. The catfish on a nearby table definitely caught my eye. But that's just my palate. Harlem world! Been wanting to come back here after a great brunch years ago! Easily accessible by train or driving. Parking wasnt bad and the station was right outside. I made reservations for 5:30 and they wont seat you if all your party isn't there. They have a few stools by door or bar if you want to wait. The bar was packed. I wanted to try happy hour but it was only offered at the bar and with no one getting up we sat at a booth. I will say if I come back I'd have to come earlier to get a seat perhaps. Had a great consistency.. the biscuits were good. I've had different types and these were good, warm, flavor and with the honey butter you're in heaven. The corn bread was on point too. You get two decent sized pieces and they're definitely hittin.. and with some of that honey butter you can't go wrong. The two pieces were actually pretty big.. Only thing I might do is grill the corn bread a bit with some butter. Just my thing... Besides that.. Everything was great! I've been back a few times, but I will say.. Definitely a place you want to come to after work or a long day and enjoy their drinks and have a great friendly service. Shrimp Po'Boy: 9/10 my husband loved it. Her personally loved the dirty rice because it was spicy, but perfectly spicy. He cleaned his plate thoroughly. BLVD Wings: 8/10 Fried perfectly, but it was giving extra sweet Asian fusion. I don't like my wings sweet, but everyone else enjoyed them. Cesar salad (no protein): 7/10 no lie, I had the end of the roman lettuce tossed in my salad and it was a no for me, so I offered it. Fried chicken biscuit sliders: 10/10 they only come with two and I lowkey wish they came with 4 with the way its priced. Biscuits fluffy and the chicken was juicy. We could eat 4 more of thems. Overall: 8/10 I think I ordered incorrectly and should have ordered a main dish, but I would have loved for the apps to hit the way my husband's Po'Boy was hitting based off of price. My Cousn's and I attended the Sunday brunch, vibes and atmosphere was Lit. DJ was super attentive and the play list was nostalgic for us. Our server MIA was the absolute best, there were about 15 of us and she went above and beyond to accommodate all of us. I was given the bill and was over charged for the order of wings. That was resolved but my change was shorted $10.00; leading to another talk with the waitress. BLVD Bistro is a good spot to come with friends for a fun brunch and an upbeat one with the DJ playing solid tracks, some of them gems from decades ago still maintaining their freshness. I came the Saturday before a recent snow storm without a reservation and, as a single person, could not sit at one of several open tables. The Maitre d'hotel was well within her discretion to seat me at the bar and she did immediately. The Sista working the bar quickly presented me the laminated menu and set me up with a Ball jar of ice water, which turned out to be all I wanted to drink given how early it was. I perused the menu and the standard offerings are there among others: egg and omelette dishes, chicken and pancakes, burger and wings, shrimp or catfish and grits. I chose the $24 chicken and blueberry pancakes. The Sista behind the bar is experienced and can handle a fully seated bar. She was not overtaxed and she picks up on customer cues. This cold morning I was not overly talkative and she gave me efficient and courteous service, while interacting with others a lot more. About ten minutes after placing my order, my plate was coming to me from the kitchen behind and to the right of the bar. The pancakes with blueberries and compote with whipped butter are served on the plate, but the chicken is coming in an unnecessary metal wire basket lined with parchment paper on the plate. In hindsight, I should have taken the basket off the plate and placed each of the three pieces directly on the plate to handle them better with the knife and fork. Better yet, skip the basket and serve it all on the plate directly. The bone in chicken: breast, drumstick and a wing, was good, but nothing incredible. The batter was crisp, but it was not as seasoned as one would expect. You will want the hot sauce for the chicken, which I requested. The blueberry pancakes were also good, but nothing outstanding. Everything looked better than it tasted, but at $24 for the whole meal, is a good value. The bill after taxes, tip and restaurant fee came to $31 and change, not bad. However, I do not like the compulsory 20 percent tip and two and a half percent restaurant fee. These restaurant fees have gotta go and the automatic twenty percent gratuity for one person is unwarranted and leaves a bad taste. These practices are becoming more commonplace and normalized, because people do not object and make it known these practices are not acceptable. Perhaps some may think it's not worth mentioning, but I waited tables, I bussed tables, and I was a cook when these practices were absent and my tip is to be at my discretion as a customer, not automatic. Therefore my rating is deducted accordingly, and reflects my dissatisfaction with these tip and fee practices. Three stars read more

This had to be my favorite brunch in the city! I mean 10/10 for real! From the service to the drinks to the food, I legit had no complaints at Blvd Bistro! I suggest ordering the white peach Bellini carafe and you absolutely must try the biscuits with gravy! You will lick that plate clean, I promise you! Make sure you come with a big appetite because you'll need to then split the French toast, eggs and wings with a friend because the portions are huge and way too good to not finish! The main issue I had is, I don't like establishments that has a time limit for tables. I don't like to feel like I'm being rushed, especially if I spending money. My friend ordered sweetened tea...and asked for light ice....they brought him tea...and somehow he ended up with a cup of ice...with a bottle cap in it. I came on a Sunday for brunch for the first time and I had a great time! My friends and I weren't a fan of the food and the cocktails we chose. Their steak, eggs and homefries dish wasn't good at all. My eggs had way too much parsley, the steak seemed wet and not seasoned good and was on top of the hash browns which made the potatoes really soggy and they also tasted very salty. Their biscuits are fluffy though! Thankfully it was cooked correctly, unlike my friend's plate she ordered medium rare and it came out brown! Our helper brought water quickly, but it took over 10 minutes before a server acknowledged us, so we weren't sure who to order with. One thing to note--happy hour pricing is only available if you're seated at the bar, even though our booth was just steps away.
