Her personally loved the dirty rice because it was spicy, but perfectly spicy. He cleaned his plate thoroughly. BLVD Wings: 8/10 Fried perfectly, but it was giving extra sweet Asian fusion. I don't like my wings sweet, but everyone else enjoyed them. Cesar salad (no protein): 7/10 no lie, I had the end of the roman lettuce tossed in my salad and it was a no for me, so I offered it. Fried chicken biscuit sliders: 10/10 they only come with two and I lowkey wish they came with 4 with the way its priced. Biscuits fluffy and the chicken was juicy. We could eat 4 more of thems. Overall: 8/10 I think I ordered incorrectly and should have ordered a main dish, but I would have loved for the apps to hit the way my husband's Po'Boy was hitting based off of price. My brother and cousin ordered drinks and they said the bartender was doing her thing behind the counter. They literally ordered 3 rounds of drinks. BLVD Bistro is a good spot to come with friends for a fun brunch and an upbeat one with the DJ playing solid tracks, some of them gems from decades ago still maintaining their freshness. I came the Saturday before a recent snow storm without a reservation and, as a single person, could not sit at one of several open tables. The Maitre d'hotel was well within her discretion to seat me at the bar and she did immediately. The Sista working the bar quickly presented me the laminated menu and set me up with a Ball jar of ice water, which turned out to be all I wanted to drink given how early it was. I perused the menu and the standard offerings are there among others: egg and omelette dishes, chicken and pancakes, burger and wings, shrimp or catfish and grits. I chose the $24 chicken and blueberry pancakes. The Sista behind the bar is experienced and can handle a fully seated bar. She was not overtaxed and she picks up on customer cues. This cold morning I was not overly talkative and she gave me efficient and courteous service, while interacting with others a lot more. About ten minutes after placing my order, my plate was coming to me from the kitchen behind and to the right of the bar. The pancakes with blueberries and compote with whipped butter are served on the plate, but the chicken is coming in an unnecessary metal wire basket lined with parchment paper on the plate. In hindsight, I should have taken the basket off the plate and placed each of the three pieces directly on the plate to handle them better with the knife and fork. Better yet, skip the basket and serve it all on the plate directly. The bone in chicken: breast, drumstick and a wing, was good, but nothing incredible. The batter was crisp, but it was not as seasoned as one would expect. You will want the hot sauce for the chicken, which I requested. The blueberry pancakes were also good, but nothing outstanding. Everything looked better than it tasted, but at $24 for the whole meal, is a good value. The bill after taxes, tip and restaurant fee came to $31 and change, not bad. However, I do not like the compulsory 20 percent tip and two and a half percent restaurant fee. These restaurant fees have gotta go and the automatic twenty percent gratuity for one person is unwarranted and leaves a bad taste. These practices are becoming more commonplace and normalized, because people do not object and make it known these practices are not acceptable. Perhaps some may think it's not worth mentioning, but I waited tables, I bussed tables, and I was a cook when these practices were absent and my tip is to be at my discretion as a customer, not automatic. Therefore my rating is deducted accordingly, and reflects my dissatisfaction with these tip and fee practices. Three stars read more

This is a place that is very popular. You should keep that in mind before you arrive or when you're making your reservation. My understanding is that it's a good spot for after work. I think because of the popularity it's a bit overpriced. New York is one of those places where you can find delicious food around every corner and so overall, I think this was just OK. This had to be my favorite brunch in the city! I mean 10/10 for real! From the service to the drinks to the food, I legit had no complaints at Blvd Bistro! I suggest ordering the white peach Bellini carafe and you absolutely must try the biscuits with gravy! You will lick that plate clean, I promise you! I came on a Sunday for brunch for the first time and I had a great time! My friends and I weren't a fan of the food and the cocktails we chose. Their steak, eggs and homefries dish wasn't good at all. My eggs had way too much parsley, the steak seemed wet and not seasoned good and was on top of the hash browns which made the potatoes really soggy and they also tasted very salty. Their biscuits are fluffy though! Thankfully it was cooked correctly, unlike my friend's plate she ordered medium rare and it came out brown! It was comped and she had the shrimp and grits which tasted way better! We had a great time for the sing along part which started more in the night. We had a mimosa at first and it was perfectly made! My second drink (The Bevy) was very strong but it's okay I didn't feel like complaining about it. The atmosphere and service were amazing. They had a do that played great music and it was decorated so nicely. My crab cake, collard greens, and mimosa were all 10/10!!!! I really feel like they were the best crab cake, collard greens, and mimosa I've ever had in my life and I've tried many lol. I also had the shrimp and grits which I think would be better with some kind of sauce paired with it/ on top/ in it. It was cooked really well, just needs a bit more flavor. Overall, I am so pleased with my first visit there and I'm glad that was one of the restaurants we chose to try on my first trip to NYC. One thing to note--happy hour pricing is only available if you're seated at the bar, even though our booth was just steps away. There was a bit of a wait with a reservation, but I was understanding considering that my date's uber got cancelled twice and there were so many people waiting to be seated. I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience honestly needs to be called out. I was the friend who brought her here after her surgery, hoping to give her a relaxing night out. Instead, we were met with one of the most unprofessional and aggressive managers I've ever encountered. We had an 8:30 PM reservation and weren't seated until after 9:30 PM. That was already frustrating, but we chose to overlook it and enjoy the night. Everything was fine... until the moment we paid. Immediately after paying, the manager approached our table in a very aggressive manner, rushing us to leave because he wanted to flip the table before the kitchen closed at 11 PM. Meanwhile, there were multiple other guests who had already paid and were still sitting, enjoying the live music -- yet we were singled out and repeatedly harassed to leave. When I asked to speak to a manager due to how we were being treated, his demeanor escalated even further. He folded his arms, started popping his neck, and aggressively stated that he was the manager. The way he spoke to us was confrontational, loud, and disrespectful -- to the point where he was literally spitting while talking at our table. He came back to our table multiple times within minutes, tapping on the table and continuing to pressure us to leave, with no regard for the fact that my friend had just had surgery and needed a moment to get up comfortably. There was absolutely no empathy, no professionalism, and no consistency in how customers were being treated. Other tables were allowed to stay, yet we were rushed out in a hostile and intimidating manner. No paying customer deserves to be treated this way. This was not hospitality -- it was completely unacceptable behavior. Based on this experience, I genuinely do not believe this individual is fit for a management role. My friends took me out after hip surgery because I have been feeling pretty down, and unfortunately this experience made things worse instead of better. We had reservations for 8:30 PM but were not seated until 9:30 PM, right in the center of the restaurant. We ordered food and drinks, and everything was going fine until we paid the bill. Within seconds of paying, Manager Kabian approached our table aggressively demanding that we get up immediately because the table was needed for another reservation. Within about 3 minutes, he came to our table at least 5 times, even tapping on the table and threatening to call security if we did not leave. In total, he approached us around 7 times in less than 5 minutes. What made this even more upsetting was that I had just had hip surgery and needed a moment to get up comfortably. There were also other guests sitting with to go plates who were allowed to remain and enjoy the live performance, yet we were singled out and rushed out in a very hostile manner. This was extremely embarrassing and unnecessary. Even other staff members apologized to us on our way out, which says a lot. This manager's behavior was completely unacceptable and does not represent the kind of hospitality any establishment should stand for. He should seriously be retrained. read more

Tried BLVD Bistro for the first time on a Saturday 2PM for late lunch. We wanted to try out this place and made reservations a few weeks ago (recommended). It was very lively, energetic place with loud music and a DJ, packed with lots of people. Our group of four had the lobster and crab cakes, pear and goat cheese salad, shrimp and grits, and fried okra (note: small portion for this dish) . All the dishes were excellent. The shrimp and grits were the star we could have ordered another one. Pear & Goat cheese salad was good but I think I would go with something else next time. We really wanted the watermelon and goat cheese but it wasn't in season. The food took about 45 minutes to come out, so we asked the server for some biscuits served with butter and jam to tide us over. (I would recommend that if you are hungry). If you are looking for quiet place or a place allowing for conversation, this is probably not the right place on a Sat afternoon. Right place for good food, noise and fun. read more

I am writing to formally bring to your attention a very disappointing experience I had at BLVD Bistro today. At approximately 5:00 PM, my party and I arrived at the restaurant. While there, I made a 6:00 PM reservation online for a party of four after seeing that the time was available. We then waited patiently for our reservation time. While waiting, it became clear that the restaurant appeared to be significantly overbooked. There were multiple frustrated guests gathered around the host stand who had also been waiting to be seated despite having reservations. Unfortunately, the situation was made worse by the conduct of the host who initially greeted us. His behavior toward me and other guests was extremely unprofessional and hostile. At one point, he was standing near the host stand holding what appeared to be alcoholic beverages while interacting with guests, which felt inappropriate given his role managing reservations and seating. At approximately 5:45 PM--before my 6:00 PM reservation time had even arrived--the host abruptly told my party that he was canceling our reservation and stated that we were "not a priority." The statement made no sense given that our reservation time had not yet arrived, and the way it was delivered was unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. Initially, I thought he was joking because the comment was so unreasonable. I then asked if I could please speak with a manager so the situation could be addressed. The host responded in a very dismissive and cocky manner, stating that the manager is "never there," implying that there was no one available to escalate the issue to. His attitude suggested that there would be no accountability for how he was treating guests. The interaction was embarrassing for my entire party. Several other guests who were standing nearby even expressed that they felt bad for me because of how rudely the situation was handled. I understand that restaurants can become busy and delays can happen. However, canceling a confirmed reservation before the reservation time and speaking to guests in such a hostile and dismissive manner is completely unacceptable. The overall environment at the host stand felt chaotic and unprofessional, with multiple customers expressing frustration about reservations and seating. I wanted to bring this to management's attention because no guest should be treated this way. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed appropriately so that other customers do not have a similar experience. read more
