Hadn't been here in ages, so wanted to try basically everything!!! I go for the wings and beer! I will eat the fresh salad! Family and friends order all the other stuff. They love the brisket and ribs. I love the flats of the wings but unfortunately this time only 3 out of 13 were flats...it should 6 or 7 of each. I was definitely sad. Other than that the Bron IPA was fresh and delicious! As someone whose family is from Tennessee, I have pretty high standards when it comes to soul food and BBQ--and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que absolutely delivered. The meat was tender, flavorful, and smoked just right, and the mac and cheese and sides tasted like real comfort food. Stumbling into Harlem with friends at 7 PM, this American BBQ place really didn't live up to my expectations. Prime Brisket: A popular recommendation. The meat was grilled until very tender, but not very juicy. All the grilled meats were extremely salty, only slightly alleviated by the Original dipping sauce. The sauce was primarily tomato-based, but lighter and more tangy than regular tomato sauce, with a hint of spiciness and smokiness. Pork Belly: It was served with crunchy pickles, adding more flavor and texture, and helping to cut through the oiliness. St. Louis Rib: Extra $2 for adding to a combo set meal. The ribs were bone-in but grilled until almost falling off the bone; the layer of fat clinging to the bone was satisfying--truly the most perfect part. Pulled Pork: Personally, I think this was the best dish. The pork was grilled until tender and flavorful without being overly salty. Shredded and mixed with the Original sauce, the texture became moist, and the flavor was even fresher. Syracuse Style Salt Potatoes: Simply seasoned with salt, butter, and a touch of chopped herbs--super fragrant. Potatoes can't be bad. Side Salad: I chose a red wine vinaigrette to dress the herbs; there was probably no more whiter dish in the world. As "Uncle Roger" said, white food tastes like sad. Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Strawberry: It was quite sour for most people, but I really liked it~ The water here was a bit unpleasant to drink, with a noticeable chlorine taste, so you might want to order a beverage instead. read more

I had the Tres Ninos combo plate: brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, and I got the mac & cheese and fried rice as my sides. Tons of food, delicious, and very reasonably priced for what you get. The server was lovely and the background music was at just the right volume (meaning not too loud, I'm pretty sensitive about that). OMG. It's so hard to find really good BBQ in NYC and here it is. I think it's my favorite so far, especially since some of the other good ones are gone. I recommend a reservation. I recommend not going when it's 100 degrees out, because it was 110 inside. But I would definitely go again and get everything. Because it was all so good! This here is a great spot by the west side highway. Ordered the honey bbq and jerk glaze chicken wings. E&J apple cider (hot drink) was a very nice touch on a cold day. Wings were saucy and tasty. While the experience had some bright spots, it was definitely a "hit or miss" kind of night. ​The Service & Atmosphere We initially went for the Restaurant Week prix-fixe menu (it was the final day), but we were told they weren't offering it anymore. A bit disappointing, but the staff was so incredibly nice and helpful that it was easy to move past it. Plus, I had cake waiting at home, so skipping the prix-fixe dessert wasn't a dealbreaker! ​The Food ​Appetizers: We tried the Creole Deviled Eggs and the Fried Green Tomatoes. The eggs were fine, though they didn't really have any "Creole" flair to them--just your standard deviled egg. The Fried Green Tomatoes, however, were a standout! Perfectly seasoned and paired with a fantastic ranch dipping sauce. ​Entree (Tres Niños): * The Winner: The Brisket was easily the best part of the meal. The layout of this place is very nice as I have reviewed before it has a bar and regular seating area and high top seating so it can accommodate many different groups. The service is always pleasant. Both the servers and the hostesses were very nice. The downside this time was the food I have eaten here before and enjoyed it but this time it was lukewarm to cold at best. The portions are huge. The sweet potatoes are delicious. I wasn't a fan of the greens they tasted a little too vinegary for me. However the fried green tomatoes are a huge hit, love the ranch dipping sauce. The cate fish is good and so was their chimichurri. I loveeee Dinosaur Bbq. Their food is consistently good. I would recommend: tres ninos, pulled chicken, mac n cheese (it's peppery and more cheesy than dry), the potato salad (phenomenal) and fried green tomatoes (really big and come with a great dipping sauce. Would pass on: collard greens (very vinegary), The cucumber salad is good if you want something fresh but it feels a little random to me. I haven't had any of the alcoholic drinks but the sweet tea is delicious and they'll give you one to go if you ask! I also believe its free refills. The reason I took off one star is because service is pretty inconsistent and sometimes the food takes forever, which can be annoying. My partner wanted me to try this place with him. Food: 3/5 I love good saucy American BBQ so I was excited. But, I had ramen for lunch and wasn't dying of hunger. So I got the 1/4 ribs and chopped salad with pulled pork. While my husband got the two meet combo with pulled chicken and brisket. Honestly, his brisket was lean only (not fatty pieces) and its bark was now jerky. Super tough and not as flavorful as had hoped (since no fat). He llike the pulled chicken as it one of the few things with moisture still present. Firstly I love the the drink so great job there but the salad was lacking. I think it was supposed to come with nuts (none present), the pulled pork under sauced, and the 1/4 were from end of the ram so super tough. Not great. Service:2/5 Our service clearly had too many covers as he was speaking English and Spanish up and down near the bar section. However, it took us 15 mins just to get water, our food came but had no utensils, and then we had flag down someone for the kitchen to give us the dressing for both our salads. It was not great. We honestly just paid our bill and left. All in all, I probably won't come back. I have had better American BBQ with better service. I know it was a busy time, but it was just not great. read more

The cornbread was meh, I've had better. My only issues came towards the end of service. We asked our waitress Autumn P(P must stand for Please do better) for to go boxes and 5 minutes later she came back to the table with the check, no boxes. She said she forgot then comes with them but no bags for them like every other table. We pay for the meal but while paying, Autumn is just hovering over my sister as she completed the transaction and left the tip which was a good tip for the service we received. That was the last we saw of Autumn P and I had to ask someone else for a bag. That person,I think his name was Jerry got it right away for us. He was originally at our table when we were seated then Autumn showed up. Maybe we would've got better service with Jerry. Overall Dinosaur was good and worth going back to. I placed an online order and upon pickup I was greeted with warmth, friendly and smiles from the two employees at the front. No complaints there. The restaurant itself is spacious and has a nice atmosphere to where it would be great for a date, a group outing or just a chill time by yourself. No complaints there either. Now onto the food. Initially I was excited; I had been craving brisket and wanted to check out a new spot so I chose Dinosaur. The food honestly didn't hit. The Mac and cheese was horrible and honestly probably the worst I've ever had. It just wasn't cheesy, it was almost like there was no cheese put. I had to move noodles around to find any cheese at all. The cornbread was ok. It definitely looks better than it taste. The brisket was decent, I've definitely had better, tender and more seasoned elsewhere. Will I try again? Maybe. However no time soon. read more
