I was craving some soul food and was very happy to try this place out! We came here during a cold weekend lunch and there weren't many people at the restaurants. They have a few booster seats around the sides of the room and it mainly seemed like a take-out place. We ordered a large oxtail with a side of baked mac & cheese and collard greens and it was delicious. We shared it between two people and we almost couldn't finish it. The oxtail basically fell off the bone and was very tender and flavorful. I like the mac & cheese as well although I wish there was more cheese as it felt a bit carb heavy. But the real star was the collard greens which were incredibly tender and soaked up all the meat juices it was marinated in. Will definitely be back to try more items! read more

I support this business because of multiple reasons the highest being the food hits and the business is run by mostly black women . However , when I pay 19 & change for a meal I expect it to be a full meal not mostly rice and bones and fat . Large curry goat w/ rice & peas and cabbage . Super hot when they came out and they popped with so much flavor. You get 6 of them but shared with someone as to not pass out after the meal. I recommend getting their hot sauce and dipping everything in it, since it's vinegar-based and pairs well with the shrimp and Mac and cheese. I was looking for something new to try this trip and researched some black owned businesses. Yelp led us here, a lowkey spot in Harlem. Due to Covid, we weren't able to step inside the actual restaurant and had to order from the entryway. Service was quick and easy. I had the wings with Mac and cheese and cabbage. All was good. The Mac was creamy and the cabbage was full of flavor. The wings were tender for a fried batter. Good but next time I will ask to fry hard. I forgot the name of the drink I had but it was the bomb. We were walking by and saw a chalkboard on the side walk that listed what they were serving that day and we decided to give it a shot.
