    Burger with fries
    Cyrus P.

Very dry service. Not warm just dry. Burger had too much bread and it just seems like a very basic burger with fries for $17. Had a Diet Coke and left. $28. Would have had a much better meal at McDonald's a block away for half the price.

    Happy Hour, May 2024

AMAZING Haply Hour from 4-7 with drinks AND food. Honestly one of the best on the UWS. I had the frozen margarita ($6 and you can add flavor) and wings and both were soo good. The buffalo wings were crunchy, juicy and had a delicious tangy sauce, plus came with blue cheese and veggies and the frozen margarita was a good size and gave me a nice buzz. Service was also great- server was attentive and staff were really nice!

Nice spot for brunch. Relatively on the less expensive side. I had their smoked salmon and it was very good! Nicely portioned too. They've got plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. You'll probably always get a table. If you're local, I'd recommend coming by at least once to try out this small business.

This is one of my go too places in the area when I can't make up my mind on where to go for dinner. This time I got a French onion soup with a side of sweet potato fries. It was a very satisfying meal and would get it again. I've been here multiple times and the food never disappoints. The service is always really good too. The people are always super friendly and helpful. One time when we ordered pick up, we forgot something and they came running after us to make sure we got it. The ambiance is really nice too. The music is pretty good when I've gone. Overall this is a solid choice for some decent American food.

Very misleading - sign says $10 burger and beer, which seems too good to be true. Turns out it was! We were explained AFTER our check arrived that it's a $10 burger if you buy a beer. The server admitted it was misleading but did nothing to rectify the situation. I even ordered by saying, "We're going to have the $10 burger and beer!" As someone who works in the industry I find this incredibly sketchy and I will definitely not be back.

The BEST food (Terragon chicken, fish tacos, calamari) cocktails, draft beer, dessert and ambiance that's economically sound in Manhattan not far from #ColumbiaUniv . Say you hello to Kevin the bartender & Ethan/Jenifer Host

Cozy bistro with a full bar and menu comprised of all of the classics for brunch, lunch, and dinner. I came around noon on a Sunday and they were incredibly understaffed. They had one chef and one waiter that were working on serving ~10 different parties. There was a ton of free space for more customers too I ordered a bison burger and it was very dry. The fries were pretty tasty however 5

Caesar Salad -$2 when added to an entree- just okay, croutons were great, dressing was not

Highly recommend Toast for your next delivery meal at home. Would I order from here again? Yes! Order straight from their website toastnyc.com Sooooo delicious. We had the half roasted chicken w rosemary mashed potatoes and gravy $16 and added a caesar salad for $2 HIGHLY recommend this dish! It smells and tastes amazing. May just be the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. The gravy was delicious and the whole meal arrived well packed and hot! BLT was delicious! Well made sandwich that was nicely wrapped and stayed together till the last bite. We chose the thick white bread which was great and the garlic mayo was delicious! We Chose fries as our side. They came in a bag and tasted great( like better five guys fries) Caesar salad was very good, great homemade croutons! Also they had a nice fiddlehead IPA beer as well. All in all, a nice dinner with delivery and a tip fitting of this pandemic and you still have dinner under $60!

Toast is absolutely one of favorite bars and restaurants in all of New York City. What makes the place so special? First, the food is fresh and well made. You can tell it's been made with care. Second, the staff is attentive, genuine, and very personable. The same goes for the manager and owner. Third, the beer selection is always good and pretty diverse. Lastly, the clientele is very eclectic. It can be highly educated, because the bar is located near Columbia University, Manhattan School of Music, and Barnard College. With all of that said, though, there are many working class locals from the neighborhood who are also patrons. And the best part about the ambiance is that everyone mingles with one another in a very relaxed and social, and down-to-earth atmosphere. If you are one to like interesting and diverse conversations, come grab a seat at the bar.

i got the french onion soup, a small house salad, and the half chicken with mashed potatoes. the french onion soup was ok. it wasn't terrible, it had a good layer of cheese. but i feel like the onions should have been simmered more, they had a bit of a crunch to them. the house salad was disgusting. the greens didn't taste washed. they had a weird waxy taste to them. the half chicken was so disappointing and underwhelming. i had to look at it with my flash on to make sure it wasn't raw. it tasted like chicken with no seasoning at all. the mashed potatoes weren't good either and the gravy it was served with was very thin like watery. i understand that this isn't maybe one of their standout dishes (like for example the mac and cheese that the waiter recommended to me) but i still felt like there should have been more effort. i couldn't eat the chicken there i had to take it home and re cook it myself with more seasoning. also i want to add that the owner made me feel uncomfortable. my server was very nice but the owner didn't make me feel welcome at all. i almost felt like he was annoyed that i was there? all in all, i might come back again but would order things they are known for because there is a serious lack of effort for the other dishes. the layout of the restaurant is a little weird. also the tables are wayyyy too short. i am a small girl and i felt like the distance between the food and my mouth was too high so i imagine a larger person would be bothered even more.

Great little spot right on the border of Harlem and Morningside. Got some wings and tacos, as well as some great craft beer. The wings were phenomenal, even having been doused in sauce they were still steaming

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.
