MAN, 'o man. You hate to have your food delivered late. Damn near $75 spent via Grubhub. After multiple calls & being put on hold I was told that it's on its way. When the food arrived it was simply 3 COLD, bland, soggy waffles & drinks. The Tropicana Orange Pineapple drink was expired. Our 3 orders of cheese eggs were missing as well as the 3 orders of French Toast. For something up the block from me it shouldn't have taken that long. I don't recommend. OH! & the kicker was when I called back about the order the guy over the phone said he could send me more waffles with butter! read more

This place came HIGHLY recommended by a local, so needing something for dinner, I popped in for a bite. Old style counter with stools, reminiscent of diners from the 50's but much smaller. Big flat top grill where you can see most everything being cooked. First off, the cook insists on smashing down my burger. Now I know that one of my fav's, Smashburger, does this to caramelize the burger. No such luck here, but it didn't end up like a hockey puck, thanks for that! Well it comes to the table with an order of fries right out of the fryer. They were OK but the meat left something to be desired. Not to my taste at all although the fried onions were a plus. The place is clean and neat, although not a fan of dining in with plastic forks. And nothing to bring me back for another burger. Maybe I'll try something else on the menu, time will tell. read more

One of the best burgers in the area. This is a total local dive joint so nothing fancy but you will get a delicious well cooked burger on a sesame seed bun with all the fixings. It is definitely one of those multiple napkin, all over my face, juice dripping from my hands...my dog can smell the meat on me 5 hours later places. We ordered from this place for work lunch and everyone was impressed. We were speechless for 30 minutes....so much for lunch meeting. I would totally come back here. Well, thankfully, no one has to cause you can go to Wimpy's III to satisfy even your most bizarre food fetishes. What's even more amazing? The food is actually really good. I know what you're thinking (I thought it too). A jack-of-all-trades place like this definitely has to sacrifice quality for quantity. If their burrito is good, then their chicken parm and spaghetti must be below average (or vice versa) . . . right? Well, apparently not. Wimpy's does it right by not being too ambitious and by sticking to the basics. Granted, nothing you eat here will be of "Best I've Ever Had" quality but rest assured, you are definitely getting your money's worth and you will leave a happy customer. I've had their burger, burrito, nachos, and chicken parm and all four were very solid (especially the burger). I will say the nachos were probably my least favorite but that's me being very nit-picky. My one annoyance is that sometimes, they have a tendency to blast really loud music to the point where you can't even hear yourself think, so forget about having conversations with your friends. This has only happened a couple times so it's not a huge issue but I'd rather have it happen . . you know . . never. Seating is sparse and the place looks kinda run down overall so if you want a fancy dinner then you should probably recheck your search queries. Otherwise, Wimpy's is a solid establishment here in Washington Heights that can be frequented by burrito lovers, salad consumers, and omelette inhalers alike. read more

they do make pretty good burgers. $7 for bacon cheese burger. 7oz patties. the bacon is pretty darn delicious. nothing wimpy about that. not too burnt not too chewy. just right. the fries is too soft and mushy for my taste and the onion rings taste a bit too much like burger king onion rings, just bigger in size. the burrito is just okay. i think they are more known for burgers? overall a cheap meal that really fills you up. inside is real small, fits about 10 people? so expect to take it to go. heard the breakfast is pretty good so maybe i'll have to try that and update this review. read more

Cheap and really decent for the price! It can be hard to get them on the phone to call in an order...and I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you speak spanish or are ok with your order being a bit off. But this is my stop for phat fatty days. Ask them to fry the mozzarella sticks a little longer if you like yours really liquified inside (they fry them until they're warm and melty but not stretchy gooey). The burgers are fine. The stuff is decent. Give it a whirl if its a splurge day. read more

I ordered simply a chicken sandwich with fries, and of course they forgot my fries. The chicken is everything besides fresh/crispy. Really horrible experience ordering delivery. They messed up the order, I called to let them know. They came to bring me my correct food and took back the other order. So whoever's order I got, probably doesn't know that the food was sitting in my kitchen for 20 minutes. I guess they messed up the other delivery so they came back to my apartment for a 3rd time asking if I had the missing food. I didn't and tried to explain that to the delivery guy but he didn't speak any English. I had a neighbor try and help me translate but she even couldn't figure out why he wouldn't leave.
