Every time I come, it exceeds my expectations. I ordered the beef, shrimp, and lobster fried rice because I couldn't decide on just one--and that turned out to be the BEST decision. It was packed with flavor, fresh, and absolutely delicious. My friends ordered the spicy kung pao chicken and the salmon, and both dishes were just as amazing. For appetizers, we went all in--oxtail dumplings, steamed shrimp dumplings, and chicken dumplings... everything was so good we couldn't even pick a favorite. By the end, we were so full and satisfied, already talking about coming back for happy hour soon And the drinks?! I had the D'Ussé fishbowl, and my friend got a coconut margarita--both were top tier. I was really excited to try Panda Harlem, but I left extremely disappointed. I went on January 29 during one of the coldest weeks in NYC and it honestly felt like we were dining outside. The heat clearly was not working -- everyone had their coats on, including the waiter. Panda Harlem is not cheap, so having no heat is unacceptable. At the very least, they should have closed and allowed customers to go elsewhere instead of sitting through a freezing dinner. I ordered lemon drop drinks, which were good, and the food came out hot -- rock shrimp tempura, filet mignon with broccoli, and chicken and beef fried rice -- but none of that mattered because we couldn't enjoy the experience at all. Vibes are very nice here, they have a DJ, and hookah if that's your vibe. Their bathrooms are gender neutral and they have a lady working there with all your needs for sale! Now the food was hit and miss on a few dishes, I really enjoyed the fried rice, noodles, chicken wontons, their Shanghai chicken was delicious, and the rock shrimp was not too bad. The chicken satay had some "peanut sauce" but it had a more caramel flavor and the chicken was under seasoned to my taste buds. The filet mignon w/ broccoli tasted better the next day, and the fried lobster was okay but the real flavor was in the legs and claws. So upon walking in there is a bar that is not being used it's just there has about 10 bottles of bulleit and some empty hookahs around. There was a nice seating area across but it was also empty. I was waiting for my friend so I got a seat at the bar, they did have happy hour the menu was small but did have some things on there. I ordered a lychee martini that was ok they make it milky which is not my preference so I immediately changed my next drink to a margarita. My friend got a Margarita then we were seated at a table closing out our tab at the bar prior. I must say we were seated in a high place with one single table no one around us which would be nice if it wasn't next to the closet where employees kept coming to put stuff in. Not to mention by an emergency exit we were freezing. Not comfortable seating at all. We waited a little while before someone came over she asked us what we would like however we were seated without meus so we had to ask for that. We were given a QR to scan then ordered appetizers chicken satay, shrimp satay to begin along with two more margaritas. The chicken was good I've had better shrimp satay before I would say pass on this one. I then ordered the salt and pepper shrimp & the lobster fried rice they both were good portions and had good taste. I did want a sauce to go on the rice they did not have one I was given sriracha which was not good to add to the dish at all. So untimely no sauce was interesting for sauce people like myself eating dry rice is a no go. I had dinner here on NYE. Inside is dimly lit and there was a live dj playing old school hip hop. There was a prefix menu for $70 that included an appetizer, an entree and "a dessert" that we actually never received. I ordered the rock shrimp tempura for my appetizer and the Shanghai salmon for my entree. The rock shrimp tempura was heavily breaded but still crispy and juicy. The salmon was also really tasty, and the bok choy that accompanied it added a fresh element to the dish. I wish we would have gotten our desserts. I'm not sure if I would come back. I expected to dance the night away and was surprised to not hear any afrobeats or dancehall all night. I came here for happy hour and resturant week dinner. I sat at the bar and it was a nice experience. The bartender was really nice but when I gave my card to pay; they could not find it. That's when I started getting worried because I did not receive the card and they told me I did. Thank you for camera because the card slipped in the hole of the card holder and then they gave me my card and two rounds of drinks on the house. So the service was amazing; we had a problem they fixed it and even gave us drinks on the house. That was really nice the manager is great and the bartender was too. Visited Panda Harlem this evening. The food was so delicious. From the spring rolls to my shrimp and broccoli. Loved the vegetable fried rice too. The service was excellent. Waiters were very accommodating and so sweet and attentive. Even laughed at our corny jokes. Loved the wall decor with great colorful art deco. Just had to take pictures. For my first time at panda I did brunch on Sunday. It was the bottomless branch where you got unlimited frozen rose for two hours. The drinks are OK I like the frozen, but I wish it was sweeter because I like sweet drinks, but it wasn't bad. I loved the food. I know a lot of people say that their food isn't the best but I feel like it is one of the best compared to a lot of others. I was actually surprised how good the food taste. I loved everything. I had no complaints about anything that I tried from the filet mignon from the dumplings from the chicken satay from the lo mein from the fried rice from the Kung pow chicken. Everything was great. Friend invited me out last minute in a Saturday night for a 730 pm reservation. Since it was raining the whole entire day, we were early, getting there at 7. They had no problem seating us early. The place was not packed as it was still early but a good amount of patrons. I was lucky to find a street parking after my circling the block a couple of times. Our waitress was courteous and attentive. We ordered chicken bao buns, Lo mein, shrimp and broccoli, kung pao chicken and passion fruit martinis. Everything we had was pretty good and our drinks was delicious and strong enough. Panda Harlem definitely wasn't what social media made it seem. We had a reservation for 8 however, when we arrived we had to wait to be seated, which is fine and usually happens at restaurants. However, we waited for a while and once we were seated. They seated the 6 of us at 2 tables pushed together, which realistically would only seat 4 people. We requested to be moved and was eventually moved to the booth by the front door, and, It was cold right there but we stayed. We went for Restaurant Week. They had the 3 courses. The Bejing Chicken was good, as well as the chicken fried rice. Only issue with that is that we had to order rice as an additional appetizer, since their entree didnt come with rice. I really liked the Tres Leches cake as well. The leches martini was good and really strong. I initially ordered a pina colada, which was nasty. The waiter excused it, since he was the one who suggested it. The service at Panda Harlem was not good. But our waiter was nice. He was pleasant but seemed too all over the place. He also took forever to take our orders but the food came out fast. The ambience of the restaurant was not the best. It strikes me more as a club atmosphere rather than restaurant, I guess because it was in what looks like a warehouse that they threw tables in, graffiti paintings on the walls. I don't know. I tried this restaurant during restaurant week 2024 with a friend and my experience was just ok. First, I understand the mandatory gratuity required by most restaurants but not for a table of 2 or less. The restaurant decor was interesting and original but the food offerings seemed familiar. Their menu was very similar to sei less and Brooklyn chop house in my opinion. For my meal I had the chicken satay, Beijing chicken and the red velvet cake dessert. The chicken satay was good and reminded me a lot of the chicken satay from Brooklyn chop house. The Beijing chicken was just ok to me but if you love candied nuts you'll love it. I also had the pina coloda which was very good and a little strong. Lastly, the cake was light and moist. I normally do not like cake frosting but theirs was really good. Ok so I actually really liked this place and I would def go back. Full disclosure its more of a date night vibe, if your looking to turn up with your friends go across the street. The food 4/5: the flavors were really good and it was visually very appealing but the broccoli needs ALOTTT of work. It was very soggy and chewy in a bad way, just over cooked and almost had that microwave taste which is unfortunate because the sauce and flavor was delicious. Def get the scallion pancake it was actually my favorite thing on the menu Scenery 5/5 this place is beautiful and I do think you get a great experience even sitting at the bar. I had a great time at Panda Harlem. We came during the weekend of Lunar New Year so we got to see an awesome presentation with drums and people dressed in their traditional costumes! My friend and I were so happy to have experienced such a great cultural experience! We came on a Friday evening and the atmosphere itself was very loud. Definitely hard to carry a conversation with friends over dinner. It seems that the is place must turn into a club after dinner hours. Despite this we still enjoyed the food and the service. Our host was kind and our server was patient with us. I didn't feel rushed out, which was also nice. We had to wait about 20 mins for our table to be ready so we waited by the bar. This area is very busy with servers going back and forth. There was no available seating by the bar either so we had to awkwardly stand to wait for someone to tell us our table was ready. I came here to celebrate my birthday with a few friends for Sunday Brunch this past weekend. Booking the reservation was easy, we had seamless communication with the manager through email. It was actually harder to find friends to attend the brunch due to the price. For a family style prix fixe brunch, inclusive of 2 hours of premium open bar, it came out to $180 per person (tax and tip included). I think that the price appears alarming at first, making it harder to secure people for the actual reservation. We arrived on time (maybe give or take 10 min) for a 4pm reservation. Initially we were directed to the bar until our table was ready. Oddly enough, we were seated at 4:35, and told our reservation would be up at 6pm. We did not receive any waiter service (there was only one server serving the entire dining area, and it was his first day on the job, God bless him!!!) until 4:45ish. The hookah guy arrived to us quite promptly though! After a few minutes of confusion, we were able to ensure that our 2 hours would start once we actually placed our order. Very thankful for that, although this should really be standard for any party that arrives on time. Ironically, as a group, we have shown up to restaurants late a fair but, so to actually be on time was quite the miracle for us. Our server was definitely a bit overwhelmed, rightfully so, as it was his first day. We needed to remind him that we had a prix fixe reservation which included the premium liquor. Once this was squared away, we were finally able to order. All of the food tasted great. I loved the chicken satay and the Beijing chicken the most. The chicken wontons were also delicious, and tasted fresh. I was happy that the menu had something for everyone, considering that one of my friends cannot eat beef. The lychee martinis were decent- I personally prefer them without the coconut puree. But hey, they packed quite the punch. My favorite drink of all was definitely the house margarita. It was one of the best margaritas I have ever had. Kudos to whomever made it. Overall, our experience was great. My only qualms were the confusion about our reservation package, and that we all left wanting more food (it was good!!!)
